We had dinner Saturday night at this restaurant. We were three senior citizen couples. The young waitress ignored our presence completely for a while serving two other tables. We had made reservation reservations for 7:30 PM. We ordered our drinks and appetizers which were very good. She spoke in English, but her accent was too thick that it was incomprehensible. When I ordered cold sake, the waitress informed me they only had hot sake. Then she told me she will bring hot sake and I can put ice cubes in it, quite rudely. It seems she misunderstood my wife and pointed a finger at my wife and said, " I don't give a shit if you don't come here again". She walked away. Then the chef came out to ask us what the problem was. We told him we had no issues with the food was very good and we weren't sure why the Waitress was upset. Probably she misunderstood English or had a hearing problem. When the main course was brought to the table, our friend asked that another Waitress, who brought the food as to what she was putting in front of her. The second Waitress was not polite either. She brought a soya bean made dish. My friend had ordered a chicken dish. This Waitress took back the plate and she realized that she had brought the wrong order of another customer. Instead of apologizing, she just went to bring the chicken dish. Our evening was ruined by bad service and bad behavior of the staff. The chef came out of the kitchen and he told us that it's OK with him if we don't come back to his restaurant again. We were all stunned at what we were hearing. All six of us are of Indian origin. This was a classic case of racial discrimination. We would never visit Hug Thai if it was the last Restaurant on this planet, even if the food was free!! read more

Hug Thai is a small joint with flowers on the walls and delicious aromas wafting. They serve classics that are tasty and affordable. I highly recommend the pineapple duck curry and basil fried rice. The shrimp roll appetizer was crispy and tasty too! The Thai dumpling was a little dense and the soju mixer could've used more soju and less juice. Started coming to here many years ago when an older gentleman owned the restaurant. It was closed for awhile until a young couple took it over this year. Very happy to say that the restaurant is just as good if not better than it was back then. Shrimp Pad Thai contained all the flavors you want as well as freshness of ingredients. Vegetable Basil was very tasteful with the right amount of spice. We stopped in for dinner after just driving by and seeing this place. The parking lot in the back is small and so is this place as it only has about 7 or 8 tables. We ordered the crab rangoon, which had a nice crunch, plenty of filling and sauce that tasted good. We also ordered a small tom yum vegetable soup which had a good flavor and was really spicy. For dinner, we ordered the seasame noodles and sweet & sour shrimp. Both tasted good. The only thing that would've made the shrimp dish better would've been if they had taken the tails off the shrimp. Also ordered the mango sticky rice which had fresh sweet mango on it.
