Food was excellent, from the wonton soup, the blanket shrimp, crispy duck in the spicy chili sauce, everything was great. I have a very high standard especially for the duck & it was right up there with my favorite 1 read more

This is one of my fave thai places for sure! It's kind of small inside but very cozy. The food is so delicious! Pad thai, drunken noodles, coconut pineapple fried rice, so so delicious! Prices are reasonable, portions are great. This is one of my favorite thai spots. If you love thai food look no further you wont be disappointed!! read more

By far my favorite Thai spot on the island. Thai iced tea is strong and sweet, just the way it should be. (See pic) Refreshing and definitely helps cut the heat if you like your Thai spicy (and Tiny Thai is good about accommodating all tastes, from not spicy at all to white people spicy to super, clear your sinuses, make your lips tingle for an hour spicy). The Singha beer is ice cold, crisp, and served in a chilled glass. Favorite appetizers: Spring rolls, wonton soup with veggies, and Bags of Gold (see pics) Favorite entrees: Drunken Noodle, Pad See Ew, and Mussman Curry. Tips: The Bags of Gold are very yummy, but even if they feel just really warm on the outside, be careful! I'm pretty sure lava is an unlisted ingredient in those things. Lol. The Volcano Chicken is a fun dish, as it arrives at your table literally on fire, but is a bit of a flop taste wise--too sweet and the breaded chicken is soggy. Lunch is a great value--slightly smaller versions of many of their dinner entrees with soup or spring rolls to accompany. They do close between lunch and dinner, so be sure to check the hours before you drive out there. If you can't find parking on the street, there's a decent sized free municipal parking lot behind the restaurant. As many have said, and the name warns, this place is VERY small. Expect to wait during peak lunch and dinner rushes. There's usually one woman doing the serving and take out orders, and in her rush she can sometimes be less than friendly. She's never been rude though, always as quick as she can be, and attentive. I've never felt rushed, even when there were people waiting to sit. read more

I came here during my lunch hour. Usually packed so I'd call in advance. There's a municipal in the back for parking and really convenient (unfortunately this week it's under construction). Small place not a lot of tables for a large party but authentic food. Staff was friendly. Food served in a reasonable time. read more

Not Good and very expensive. Portions are very small, for the price they charge. I had gone with the recommended drunken noodles, and wow really awful. who ever wrote the positive review on that, obviously hadn't eaten Thai food before. also ordered the fried tofu and the dipping sauce was just salsa dip with peanut chunks. I feel bad that this is the only Thai place around. Will never come here again. read more

In Farmingdale Monday around 5 and wanted food so we parked and checked the end of main street by the tracks where both Tiny Thai and Rolling Spring are located. RS was our first choice but was closed on Mondays....So, we went to Tiny Thai. Was after 5 (opening time) and we went to the door and was locked. I saw waitress in back and banged on door and she finally opened it up. Our cool reception was a harbinger of what was to come! We got the menus and it is actually sparse in choices....tiny place with tiny menu...Asked if I could get food thai hot and she admitted they dont use Thai Chili's and brought us crushed red pepper and mild chili sauce to add some heat. This was a weak beginning as we like our food "hot". Got appy of Steamed Dumplings with a sauce comprised of soy sauce and fish sauce. When I tasted it I asked for a bowl of fish sauce to put over the food to give it some stronger flavor. Our mains comprised of Thai Basil Chicken and Drunken Noodles. Both dishes lacked the flavor and heat we requested but were unable to have. The food was not bad but not what we were looking for considering most Thai Restaurants can serve Thai Hot. The Basil Chicken, which should have had some zip was too sweet for our liking and Bonnie G., spooned copius quantities of red chili sauce on top to try to negate that sweetness... something she never does. We both cleaned our plates due to hunger but after discussing the cool service and preparation of food it was mutually decided to not return and go to a Thai restaurant that serves "real" Thai food! read more

Tiny Thai - DR - Thai Near Me - Farmingdale, New York

I'm a food lover. I ordered tiny thai and figured their rating on yelp was not too bad. And as a food lover I was craving Thai food. #1) the name of the restaurant is the size of their dishes.... food was a little above average in taste. 2) Bill was 44$ plus tax. For 1 appetizer and 2 dishes....again its ok. I'm willing to pay. 3) When I asked about the take out order being 9$ over what the menu had written. The lady....not young immature inexperienced teen. Yelled at the register "Menu prices have changed! They went up in price....You want food or not.". She was rude. Condescending. And loud enough where the entire 15 foot restaurant heard her. it was embarrassing. Thank you tiny thai for the wonderful experience. I will never order from or go to that terrible place. with out the rude....miserable lady this place is 2 1/2 stars at best. Between the quality and price 2 1/2 stars is generous. The pushy lady who had a bad day and took it out on a customer makes it an easy 1 star. And I know you can't define a place on one incident. But some people leave an impression on you. read more

Called my lunch order for pickup. Chicken pad Thai no peanuts. Simple enough, right? Read on, friend! The lady was very rude on the phone and in the end after taking my order hung up on me. Let's be nice and say she was colorful on the phone. She told me it would be 20 minutes. 30 minutes later I showed up and as I walked in, the same lady was the only woman serving the customers. How do I know it was the same lady? How can one forget that same unique voice and accent that I heard barking at me when I called 30 minutes prior. She saw me standing there awkwardly, but ignored me. She was extremely busy. The restaurant was full. I get that. I waited almost 10 minutes patiently before she acknowledged my presence. There were also a few people who were waiting before me. They decided to just leave. I have to admit that I was about to walk out, myself. When she decided to acknowledge me, I told her I was there to pick up my order I'd called in. She told me what I owed ($8.95 or so), I gave her a $20 and she pretty much threw my change at me. Well, some of it spilled all over the table. And in her defense, at least she didn't crumple the bills before throwing them at me. She threw them down nice and flat. The change fell all around and I had to gather it all up. Fun! At least she muttered a "thank you" at the end under her breath. It made it all worthwhile. I thanked her and was on my way. I should have said "thanks for nothin'!", but that's not my style. Disappointed. The food? Mediocre. I will not be coming back. The good news is I can rule out this restaurant for future reference. I'll take it as a learning experience. read more

Is it fair to only give 3 stars to a place when it exceeds expectations? I say yes. Tiny Thai is a decent little place which offers somewhere between average and better than average thai. For someone who is new to thai this is a good place to start them out. Nothing is overly spicy, and most everything is decent. I've never had to wait and they are friendly. Give it a shot. read more

Good Thai. They make good curries here, but the portions are on the lighter side. The service is slow for suuure. But if you want Thai....where else can u go? The food was good, prices reasonable, but nothing too special about this place. I got the coconut shrimp, which was overcooked. The spring rolls were good, though. The Massaman Curry was among one of the better ones I've had. Not so hot on presentation though. I'm not rushing to go back, though. read more

Pros: food was good, not awesome. threw up the next day.... :-/ cons: Woman was INCREDIBLY rude to me over the phone. I asked if I could get a thai iced tea to go and i literally got YELLED at. Probably wouldn't go back, except for the fact that it's the only thai restaurant open around here on a monday. read more

The cost is reasonable and it is in Long Island, so I'm considering that in the review. Food is decent but it is not up to par as the ones in the city. The serving size has decreased over the years at restaurants, and this is one of the restaurants in which the portion of the dish size is a bit smaller than the larger restaurants. I noticed the influx of video cameras at small businesses, and it may be fine for security measure, but who wants to be recorded while they are eating? Especially within a small space like a "hole in the wall" for seating and eating, who finds that suitable? I have eaten here several times as the village restaurants are worth stopping by but there was always something missing. It may be the portion size, it is different from the Thai experience from other urban restaurants. read more

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY The Good: The food was great! The Bad: I would compare the service here to that of the Soup Nazi from the Seinfeld Sitcom. Jenny, aka The Thai Nazi, expects a lot and has very little patience for her customers. Before going you must read the menu on-line, decipher Jenny's crazy spiciness scale, and come to the grips with the fact that you will not be well taken care of in this restaurant. The Ugly: Jenny kicked us out at 9:30 so that she could catch a train. She said she didn't want to have to wait another hour for the next one. Yes, this really happened. Still in shock over it. Will I go back? Yes, but only with the expectation of eating great food. I know know what to expect when it comes to their level of service. Yup, the food is that good. I'd recommend take out as opposed to dining in if you live close enough, which I unfortunately do not. read more

The service wasn't as bad as everyone says, but then again, there was only 2 tables there in the afternoon when I went. Now, the dumplings app and pad thai entree I had was great. But the coconut shrimp was the worst I've had anywhere. My date had the volcanic chicken, which she and I were pleasantly surprised that it was actually on fire...but that was the only good thing about the dish. She hated it so much that she couldn't eat it...and neither could I, and that, is a feat not many places can accomplish. read more

Tiny Thai - Pad thai - Thai Near Me - Farmingdale, New York

The food at Tiny Thai is delicious. Easily some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I always order the Drunken Noodle with chicken. It's the perfect portion for lunch, and the price of the lunch special can not be beat. The vegetable spring rolls are delicious as well. However the service is terrible. I have only ever been there during lunch hour, which is usually a full restaurant. There is one waitress, who is also the hostess, and the cashier. Sometimes I wonder if she is the cook as well. There was one time I went with 3 girls during lunch time, there were four empty tables, and we waited 20 minutes to be seated. As we were being seated, we explained that we were on our lunch break and knew what we wanted to order. The waitress disappeared, and came back 10 minutes later to take our order. We again, reminded her that we were on our lunch break and just waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken. She proceeded to go to every table in the restaurant before even making it into the kitchen with our order. We politely explained that her service was poor and we would not be staying, we walked out. If you are not on a time constraint, the food is well worth the wait. read more

I usually have takeout lunch and nine at ten times it's pretty good however your crab meat fried rice, you guys got some nerve posting that you have crab meat in this meal it's a bowl of rice for $12.95 I feel you're really screwing you guests read more

Not worth the time or money. Very expensive for a small dish. Not good thai or Asian food. Rather get regular take out then tiny thai

Prices are great. Wine/Beer list is limited. Appitizers were great! Chicken Sate, and Steamed Dumplings are my fav. I stuck to Shrimp Pad Thai and was not disappointed. Not a huge curry/coconut milk fan (I usually find it too sweet) but it was well cone here. Service is slow, but it is because the entire place is being run by one person. Don't come here in a rush, but instead take your time and enjoy the dining experience. I'll be back to try more soon! read more

that awkward moment when the girl working there chased me and my friend out the door because she thought we didn't tip her enough, She said, " did you not like our service that you left $12" meanwhile it was the 2 of us, I was very confused and never went back. I dont care if you have awesome food, once something turns a customer off, you never wanna go back. read more

Food was very zesty and flavorful. I ordered off of the vegetarian section (spicy tofu) and they modified it to be vegan (they cook with fish juice) and prepared it mild rather than spicy. The service was good and the server was pleasant and attentive. I would return and try something different next time. read more

Tiny Thai - Vegetarian section of the menu, the spicy tofu with brown rice was delicious! - Thai Near Me - Farmingdale, New York

Tiny Thai is indeed tiny, but you know what? Good things can often come in small packages. Located next to the Rolling Spring Roll, this little place is run by a powerhouse of a slim, petite woman and its miniscule kitchen churns out great food at rapid pace. The lunches here are a steal at $7 for soup or salad, a spring roll, and an entree, and the portions aren't to be sneered at. Dinner isn't much bigger but the prices are higher, making it less of a value. Nonetheless, it's fast, it's good, and it's inexpensive and they make some banging Pad See Ew (called Red Noodles here) and Thai dumplings here. read more

Tiny Thai - Red noodles. Could use a bit more sauce and chicken tonight. Lunch is a great value, though. - Thai Near Me - Farmingdale, New York

I really love this place, I have tries many items on the menu and it's consistently delicious. Love the Drunken Noodle, and spicy fried rice. Service is always very fast. read more

Really, really wanted to like this place. I gave it several tries, but it just falls flat. The service, my god. Not only do they take forever to bring your food, but they'll actually come while you are eating and ask, "are you ordering anything else or can I bring the check?" The food is bland, even when you ask for extra spicy, it's barely spiced.. Also, if you ask for clarification on anything, the waitress just stares at you. I asked about the curries and she just said, "Um.. One is yellow, one brown...." seriously? I do like their wonton soup, I would recommend it, but that's it. The amount of time it actually takes to get food, the slow, rude staff and the boring food will not make me come back here. Sorry. read more

My co-worker and I wanted to go out to dinner on a Friday night. "There's this Thai place in Farmingdale we should go to. I don't remember the name." "Tiny Thai?" "Yeah! That's it." "I love that place." "Me too!!" I crave this place a lot. It's close by and has very fair prices for the large portions they serve. Many people I've met mention they love it there too. They think it's like some secret spot no one knows about. Silly. Anyway, I've only ever eaten the spicy fried rice with shrimp or chicken or their drunken noodle for my main course. Both dishes I order level 5 spicy. I tell them to make it super spicy. One time they put spices on the side for me to add in and it really hit the spot. They never disappoint. It is to die for!! So good. Love this place. read more

The family has always liked the food at Tiny Thai - esp. the drunken noodles. However we really had an awful service experience this weekend. We called in an order because we were planning to pick it up & head to a friends house but the food wasn't even put in their order system until we showed up 1 hr later. The restaurant made us just stand there for 45 mins while they tried to rush it. I understand that they are busy but this was very unprofessional. Not only did they make us wait but our plans with our friends were wrecked. I'm certainly not going back as LI has plenty of Thai joints that are as good if not better - especially when it comes to service. read more

Really really really good food. Really. The portion sizes at this place are phenomenal, which is extremely fortunate since every bite of food is awesome! The Pad Thai here is exquisite and the best kept secret are the spring rolls! Impossible to try just one. read more

I thought this place was cute and while my food wasn't bad I wasn't in love with it. I ordered the Tofu Duck with vegetables, mildly spicy. I wasn't sold on it from the beginning because the "duck" in the title worried me, but my friend who I was with said it was very good. I wasn't sure why it was called tofu duck until my dish came. The tofu is made to look like duck and I didn't like the way it was made to imitate the texture and color of meat. It wasn't like fried tofu, I've never had tofu with this kind of odd texture before. I'm a vegetarian because I don't want to eat meat and it made me grossed out. The taste of the vegetables and sauce was good but the texture and color of the tofu was not what I like. It was not fried but somehow they made it look like meat. On a brighter note, my Thai iced tea was really good. I would definitely give this place a second chance but I would avoid their tofu or at least the "duck" tofu. Service was friendly and the prices reasonable. read more

HELP! ISO good Thai food on Long Island! I'm starting to think it's nearly impossible to find delicious Thai food on this island! My husband and I ate here Saturday night for dinner. We drove about a half hour, in hopes of filling our bellies with a scrumptious Thai meal. Well, yet again we were disappointed. We ordered the Calamari & curry puffs as appetizers. The curry puffs were meh and the calamari was bland and rubbery, the sauce however was okay. I had the Panang chicken curry, which all I tasted was cinnamon?! My husband had the chicken Pad Thai, which literally had no flavor. As for the restaurant itself, looking around I started to get a little turned off looking at the dusty fake planters hanging from the windows. The place needs a facelift. It's very outdated and makes you wonder when the last time a vacuum was taken out. Only one lady was doing all three jobs of waiting tables, answering the phones, and seating customers. read more

I returned after coming here many times very satisfied in the past. I was dismayed that I specifically ordered brown rice and no white rice, and Instead they give me brown rice and white rice. The green curry was in one small partition in their strange, 3 partition take out containers, and all I can remember eating is tofu and string beans with the curry and rice. And the soup with one or two broccoli which was ok, but it felt too skimpy for paying over 10 dollars for it (to be clear, the curry and the soup). I've gotten better from other Long Island Thai restaurants. I realized I liked this place very much, but I came to realize that the service is inconsistent. I hope they improve. They certainly have the potential to do so. read more

Some patrons complaint about rude service. I experienced a little bit of this on the phone and in the restaurant. I wouldn't say she was rude per say, more like she's overworked and has no time to stop and chat. They have one day working the phones, waitressing the entire restaurant. Mind you it is a small place but when you have 4 tables of 5 come in during the lunch rush and you have 3 dirty tables, things can get hectic for one person! The Lunch special is awesome, under $10pp for a soup or salad, spring roll and entree. The Salads come with either Ginger or Peanut dressing. The ginger dressing was the real deal, not the fake ones. The Peanut dressing looked goopy and I was told it was ok. Spring Roll was ok. The Pad Thai was delicious! The sauce was just right, the noodles were perfectly chewy. The sauce was a bit heavier than it should have been but all together, I didn't mind. I would most definitely come back again! *They use HUGE plates which make the order look small but it's actually a good amount for lunch. Heads up: Will not accept order ahead orders read more

WOW this place was amazing. I was checking out the others reviews and said why not. The Drunken Noodles was really good and the Thai ice tea was the best I've had. I even ordered the Red noodles to have later and I was extremely pleased. The Decor of the place was nice, cute and cozy. I went on a Sunday evening and it was just us and the waiter. This place is going to be a regular for me and I can't wait to try the other dishes. read more

There are so many places in walking distance on Main Street that there are restaurants I've never even tried - and Tiny Thai, which is aptly named, is easy to overlook as you survey your options. What you can't overlook is that most days there's a line out the door within 20 minutes of the place opening. There are other Thai places in the area that boast a pretty decent Pad Thai, and I was used to just that - pretty decent. This place puts 'decent' to shame. I'll still try other Thai places, but if you want quality, this is the place to go. The Pad Thai doesn't even resemble the food at other places - and that's a wonderful thing. There are some complaints about service here, and I've heard friends say similar things. But, speaking as the type of customer that no one really wants to see walk in (a young woman on maternity leave walking in alone with a 4 month old infant - probably going to make a mess, take up an entire table in a crowded place, and make noise), they were perfectly nice to me. The waitress didn't stop and chat with me, but she was polite, answered my questions nicely, and attentive. And that was with a completely full restaurant (where at every table, people were rhapsodizing about how delicious their meals were). read more

This is my favorite Thai food place on the island. The food is so good just wish the sit down area was bigger. We get take out all the time! If this place had door dash that reached out to deer park I'd probably be broke! Haha their food is so good! I definitely recommend! read more

The name is very fitting, place is tiny, but the food is delicious. I recommend eating in. I've done take out and eat in. Same girl helped/served me both times. When you're there, she's attentive and friendly. Go for a pick up and it's like she's doing you a favor to get you your food. I had the drunken noodles with beef last time I was there and it was spot on. They might have gotten a 5 star if my take out experience was better. read more

Service is terrible. The ladies are pushy and have an attitude. They want to cut corners and make faces and talk behind you in their own native language. But the food is excellent. Best Thai food in the area. read more

Before coming, I was warned of the terrible service but great food here. Consider myself delightfully amused by how true that was. I've eaten here twice over the last two days (once with take out and the second sit-in). Both times, the food was incredible. The first time, I ordered the red noodles and wonton soup. The wonton soup was probably the best I've had other than my mom's. It was not too salty and not too flavorless, and the spinach added to the broth was an excellent addition. The red noodles were perfectly cooked, with the exception that it was more noodle than vegetable. My favorite part about the first night was when the waitress told me I was "ruining the environment" when I asked for a plastic bag to carry all my food. I just thought it was hilarious considering she said it so directly. Aside from that comment, I went a second time with a coworker where we both ordered curry (him - Panang, me - Yellow). Everything was amazing. The curry was so delicious with the right amount of spice. We also ordered an appetizer of curry puffs, which were basically tiny curry empanadas. The texture was perfect and that was our favorite dish. The great part about this place is regardless of whether you dine in and out, the food comes out quick. Once you dine in, however, you understand why the waitress is so cranky since she's the only person there. So on that note, she wins that battle. read more

I was super happy to see vegetarian options here. They have a veggie pad thai & a tofu pad thai as well as some other vegetarian options. I ended up getting the veggie pad thai. It was almost sweet and was amazing when I added the hot spice delivered with the food. The place is tiny and seemed to have only one person handling seating, taking phone orders, order taking & bussing. She seemed to have it under control although I would hope they would add another person on the weekend. Another small note: No music just the sound of Dancing With The Stars as it was playing on their small out of place ceiling mounted tv. ughh. read more

The flavors here are anything BUT tiny! I used to love Thai Station in Merrick, but I think this is my new favorite place. Their Thai Iced Tea is simply perfect. All of the soups are delicious. The Drunken Noodle dish is awesome! You can request how mild or spicy you want your food made... and they will actually listen to you! There's nothing worse than ordering something "extra spicy" and discovering it to be completely bland. Service might be a little slow because it does get very busy and sometimes there's only one person taking care of the entire restaurant. I highly recommend this place for foodies and thai lovers... but come a little early for dinner or expect to wait. read more

This was my second time visiting Tiny Thai and have been satisfied each time. His place is small and gets busy, but both times I was lucky enough to get a table without a wait. Both times I ordered the Dumplings for an appetizer and Drunken noodles for an entree. I would recommend both! With only one server can be slow but not slow enough for me to complain about it. I will definitely be visiting Tiny Thai again! read more
