Located just off of Main St. in downtown Huntington, Long Island, Thai USA is a charming family owned Thai restaurant. The food is pretty decent. We really loved the PAD THAI WITH SHRIMP which was 5/5 - the noodles are springy and the sweet-savory balance was just right. I requested my SEAFOOD RED CURRY to be extra spicy and they obliged. My husband's MASSAMAN CURRY was good too, mild and sweet. Though the bowls of rice that came with our curries are rather small, and we ordered more to soak up all the soupy goodness. The BEEF & BROCCOLI (actually the Thai version of it, beef stir fried in oyster sauce, NUA NAM MUN HOY), isn't something I would normally order, but only got it for my toddler because it's one of few vegetables he'll eat, was a bit too salty (plus I prefer a more dry-sauté texture). And the seasoning on the BLACKENED TUNA appetizer was heavy on Old Bay which IMO doesn't really go with seared tuna. My MOJITO was nice and strong. Stopped in for dinner on a rainy evening. Our server was great and our food came out quickly. I had a spicy vegetable curry with tofu and it was delicious. The portion size was decent. My boyfriend ordered a noodle dish that he really enjoyed but it came out too spicy for him so make sure to specify the heat level. Overall very good and will be back. read more

My friend and I went to Thai-USA for the first time last night. We picked it out because we were going to a movie at Cinema Arts just 10-minutes away. But this restaurant did not disappoint at all. The service was extremely friendly and helpful and very nice. I got there 15-minutes ahead of my friend and they happily sat me at a nice table while I waited. We got Thai Dumplings as an appetizer (small but delicious). As entree's my friend got Seafood Curry served in an iron kettle... delicious. I ordered the special Shrimp Chicken Pineapple and Cashews... wonderful gingery soy flavors. We both had mint iced tea. My dessert was the traditional Sticky Rice and Mango (loved it). My lady friend and I visited this establishment a couple of Saturdays ago. I was very pleased with what I found. We were seated fairly quickly. The host came by quickly with the dinner, special and drink menus. At no time were we rushed to place our order. Margaritas were not on the menu, however the drink special proved to be more than satisfactory. Our appetizer and main dishes were served quickly. The food was very good. My only negative criticism is that the beef in my dinner dish was slightly tough. Aside from this minor problem, our meals were tasty. came last night for my anniversary! everything was FANTASTIC! The server was so kind, the owner (i believe!) stopped by tables to make sure everything was going well. my fiancé and i shared the fresh hand roll, we'd had it before! the veggies were crisp and crunchy, and the slices of plum added such a nice sweetness that complemented the sauce wonderfully! i got the seafood curry, and it was cooked to perfection. the shrimp were firm (but not chewy!!) and the bay scallops were cooked perfectly as well! my favorite part was the flaky, soft, sweet chunks of fish that just melted in my mouth! my fiancé got the stir fry udon special with shrimp and veggies and they loved it! There aren't too many Thai restaurants in my neck of the woods so I usually go to another place. I'll tell you this, I've been going to the other Thai place since I've moved to Long Island and am so upset I only found THIS Thai USA last night. I was so happy with my order -it was delicious. I think most people prefer quality over quantity and you're getting quality with this place. The dumplings are small but so delicious that you won't mind their bite size. I ordered Spring Rolls just because I haven't had them in a while and was so happy with them. They were great. Not too greasy and a little flaky. Amazing actually. I order Chicken Pad Thai for entree and it was delicious. I ordered take out at the end of the night so can't comment on the dine-in experience but everyone was so nice to me and it felt authentic. (The place I usually go, they're nice but their smiles seem wooden and forced, not like this place.) I can't wait to actually go there for a sit down dining experience. Yes, this IS the best place to get Thai in Huntington. The people who work here are so sweet and accommodating. They are also very friendly to children. When my daughter ordered something mild the waitress checked back to see if it was not too spicy for her. I've eaten most of the appetizers on the menu and you cannot go wrong with any of them. The curries are so good, I can eat them every day. I'm also addicted to the Larb. Omg sooooo good. Order it with cabbage instead of the romain lettuce and then come back and thank me!! PS. I ordered 2 soups...Tom Kha Gai 1 larb with chicken Papaya salad Cococonut rice Edamame beans... When I got home, my BF was boiling water. I said what is that for? He said for the edamame beans....we truly are a match made in heaven. We didn't like the soup...it was not hot enough...no flavor. Chicken Larb had great flavour. Went for dinner for the first time last night. Everything was super delicious, the restaurant was super clean and the service was fast! We had three excellent dishes. I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything. The ambiance was great and it looked like a few friends out for food and drinks, a few couples on dates, etc. We brought a 1.5 year old, past her bedtime, and the staff was so accommodating and went above and beyond. They moved a table around for the high chair, brought out crayons, and even sat and colored with her for a while. The local regulars even call her Aunt Tiki. read more

Just visited for the first time (my husband and I had been looking for a place that was within several blocks of the new bookstore (The Next Chapter), and that was actually open on Sunday, which several nearby restaurants seem not to be). We're very glad we went! The decor is very pleasant (it's especially beautiful in the bathrooms, for what it's worth), the interior was relatively cool & shady after a walk in the hot sun (I wouldn't have minded a bit more air conditioning, but A/C is expensive, and it's so easy to overdo it), and most importantly, the food was excellent. My husband had the pad thai, our staple, which both of us really liked, while I had the larb (lettuce wrap), which was extremely tasty & very fun to eat (one has to wrap the protein & rice into the lettuce oneself, which can be a bit messy, but like I said, it's very fun!). I can't remember the last time I've had a chance to eat lettuce wrap--none of the Thai restaurants near where I live offer it. Our server was considerate and attentive. We don't live that close by, but we'll definitely be sure to come back whenever we're in Huntington! read more

An adorable, family owned Thai joint in Huntington Village. We walked over from the Post Office free parking and were promptly greeted by the lovely hostess. Since my fella had been here before, and LOVES their Pad Thai, he knew exactly what he wanted. A shared app of garlic edamame and fabulous bowl of Tom Yum Goong and some nice cold sake gave way to my decision of Tofu Massaman Curry with Thai Level "Burn Me" spice. Appreciated the option of the deliciously nutty brown rice, in a very generous serving. Even my non spicy eating fella appreciated the complexity of my curry. Haha, and then the slop sweats started: Oopsie :) We both left with take away boxes and more than enough for lunch the next day. Didn't pay for the meal, but I recall thinking the prices to be very reasonable. Since I'll be back in NY in a few months, I'm sure we will be return.
