Before coming, I was warned of the terrible service but great food here. Consider myself delightfully amused by how true that was. I've eaten here twice over the last two days (once with take out and the second sit-in). Both times, the food was incredible. The first time, I ordered the red noodles and wonton soup. The wonton soup was probably the best I've had other than my mom's. It was not too salty and not too flavorless, and the spinach added to the broth was an excellent addition. The red noodles were perfectly cooked, with the exception that it was more noodle than vegetable. My favorite part about the first night was when the waitress told me I was "ruining the environment" when I asked for a plastic bag to carry all my food. I just thought it was hilarious considering she said it so directly. Aside from that comment, I went a second time with a coworker where we both ordered curry (him - Panang, me - Yellow). Everything was amazing. The curry was so delicious with the right amount of spice. We also ordered an appetizer of curry puffs, which were basically tiny curry empanadas. The texture was perfect and that was our favorite dish. The great part about this place is regardless of whether you dine in and out, the food comes out quick. Once you dine in, however, you understand why the waitress is so cranky since she's the only person there. So on that note, she wins that battle. read more

I was super happy to see vegetarian options here. They have a veggie pad thai & a tofu pad thai as well as some other vegetarian options. I ended up getting the veggie pad thai. It was almost sweet and was amazing when I added the hot spice delivered with the food. The place is tiny and seemed to have only one person handling seating, taking phone orders, order taking & bussing. She seemed to have it under control although I would hope they would add another person on the weekend. The flavors here are anything BUT tiny! I used to love Thai Station in Merrick, but I think this is my new favorite place. Their Thai Iced Tea is simply perfect. All of the soups are delicious. The Drunken Noodle dish is awesome! You can request how mild or spicy you want your food made... and they will actually listen to you! There's nothing worse than ordering something "extra spicy" and discovering it to be completely bland. Service might be a little slow because it does get very busy and sometimes there's only one person taking care of the entire restaurant. I highly recommend this place for foodies and thai lovers... but come a little early for dinner or expect to wait. read more

If you're ordering takeout from here, make sure you ask what the real prices of the items on the menu are ordering arbecause there are several price discrepancies between the pictures of the menu on yelp. I budgeted only a certain amount of money for my order and I was charged at least $20 dollars more than what was planned. That might not seem like a lot to some people but to me and my family,it's a lot of money. I have to save up for everything including a treat of takeout. My option was leave the food there to rot and go home with nothing or take it. Both options suck. I have no issue with the food, it's just this. I went to tiny Thai on a Saturday afternoon and the place was completely empty so I thought I would be treated well, WRONG!! The waitress took forever to take our order because they were busy eating their own lunch! Throughout the entire time I had to keep waving the waitress over to service us which was ridiculous being that my friend and I were the only two people in the restaurant! Very good Thai meal here... First time. Steamed dumplings were good but Sausage Salad was better. Tangy dressing with lots of Chinese sausage. Perhaps a bit of char on the sausage might have helped. Interesting Thai basil sauce- very flavorful but such a deep red color! I guess that was a good sign. Very good pineapple fried rice. So tiny Thai is one of my favorite restaurant all time. It's a cute little place on Farmingdale Main Street that has great food for a fair price. I mostly order out from there because there is limited seating however I have dined in a few occasions. My go to dish are the drunken noodles. Buyers be wear. This dish is spicy!!! You can however tell them the level spice that you want 1-5. 5 being the spiciest. Don't do 5 unless your planes for the rest of the night involve being at home. But I usually get a 1 or 2 spicy and it's amazing. If your feeling something not spicy at all the chicken Pad Thai or the chicken noodle are amazing dishes. I've passed this place many times, but always at lunch time... and they're not open for lunch. Finally had the opportunity to stop in for dinner tonight. The restaurant is aptly named. It is a Thai restaurant, and it is TINY. Fortunately, as it was a Tuesday night, it wasn't very crowded. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't see Beef Satay on the menu (only chicken was listed) but they did have my favorite soup: the Chicken Coconut soup. I had a cup of that, and the beef panang curry. The waittress asked me how I would like it, as it was already listed as "two peppers" on the menu (or "Very spicy"). I told her I liked my food spicy, so she said she'll make it "three peppers." I was ALMOST worried, because I had the "Extra Spicy" at Jai Ya in Hicksville and lived to regret it (but just barely). My fears were unfounded. The food was "hot enough." Definitely broke out in a sweat, but my mouth didn't feel like it was sucking on hot coals... in fact, I barely touched my glass of (excellent) Thai iced tead. After the soup and the entree, I didn't really have any room left to try any desserts. I did see her serving one table a flaming "something" but I guess I'll have to find out what that was next time. So I'm a big guy and so I was worried when I saw the name of this place because it looked like it was gonna be tiny inside as well, but to my surprise it wasn't . I had the pad thai and I was a bit disappointed.. it was like there was no heat at all I had to add my own. Once I added my own I was pleased with the meal. I think I liked my friends dish better almost though she went with the same plate but where I got the chicken she went with the veggie. i think the thing I liked best was that they were very attentive to my water. This place is amazing! Seriously a must try. It is located on the Main street of Farmingdale which is boasting with other restaurants and the area is coming along nicely with new additions. Hands down the best Thai Restaurant around. Their Drunken Noodles are extremely good. Ive been going for years. There used to be a cranky old lady who ran the place she was horrible. Theres actually a younger version of her that is away in Thailand right now she can have an attitude and Im glad the current people running it are in charge now. Very sweet and attentive. I used to ask for chopsticks fron the previous owner and she would give me a dumb look and say too busy right now. That no longer happens thank God. If she comes back Im deducting stars lol. I've been coming here for years... As far as the food goes it's usually consistent and tastes great! Love the food here (chicken noodle, pad thai, tiny thai fried rice, etc). The dining experience, on the other hand, is a luck of the draw... But recently I had one of the least enjoyable experiences- left feeling frustrated and disappointed. From the moment we walked in we had been rushed; we were a party of 2 that came in at 8pm on a Friday and the restaurant was almost empty (save for a table of 5). Everything from ordering drinks and appetizers was rushed. If we didn't have an answer ready when the waitress came, she subtlety groaned and scurried away to return two minutes later expecting our decisions to be made. Even paying the bill was awkward seeing as it was left on the table as we had just started eating our entrees... The waitress kept coming over to see if we had the bill ready- so after leaving my card she ran it and I asked if I could take the rest of our meal to go (since we were pretty annoyed at this point). She returned with 2 takeout boxes and a bag and said good night. We packed our food quickly and left... I checked my watch as I walked out the door- checking if we kept them there later- watch said 8:47pm and they close at 9... So sticking to take out for a bit! read more

I have recently discovered my love for Thai food and this is the third Thai restaurant that I have tried. It is by far my favorite and I don't even feel the need to try others, this has become my "go-to". The food here is excellent and I highly recommend the curry puffs, wonton soup and spicy fried rice. So happy I found this place! I worked in NYC for years and could not find Thai on Long Island that compared, Until now. I work in Melville and it's now top of my lunch-list. This was a last minute lunch decision, my first choice was closed. But what a surprise. My friend said it was good, I thought it was amazing. It's tiny and busy during lunch time. The first time we came to Tiny Thai, the place was packed so we went somewhere else. This time we made it a point to go to Tiny Thai a little early. We got to the place at 12pm and only one table was occupied. There were about 10-15 tables (tables for 2 or 4) in the establishment, fitting approximately 30 people. The menu was pretty simple, having two prices, $7.50 for the Specialty Dishes (ex. Drunken noodle, Thai Fried Rice, etc.), and $6.95 for the Lunch Specials (pad thai, pad basil, massaman curry, sweet & sour, etc.) with Chicken, Beef, Pork, Shrimp, or Tofu. Also included with the dish was a soup or salad, and a vegetarian Thai spring roll. There are also different spice levels you can choose, ranging from 1-5. The single bathroom was very roomy, able to fit a wheelchair, and was very clean. It almost felt like I was in a bathroom in someone's house with nicely beige tiled floor, a large portrait mirror, and a fake 4-ft plant sitting in the corner. The decor around the restaurant also very home-like with a couple wooden ceiling fans, nice wallpaper and a few murals/sculptures on the walls. Quaint but very cozy. Service was very good here, being run by one waitress who did it all. She played the role of the hostess (seating everyone), waitress (taking orders and serving food), waterboy (refilling our glasses with water), and busboy (cleaning the tables). She came several times to the table to make sure everything was alright. I ordered the Beef Pad Basil at spice level 3 and the soup special, which was wonton soup. The waitress was very courteous and had mentioned there was pork in the wonton, I'm guessing since some people may have a problem eating pork. I let her know I was alright with it. My 2 other colleagues ordered the sweet & sour chicken and the pad thai, complemented with the salad. After we had made our orders, our soup/salad appetizer came out in about 5 minutes. The wonton soup was very delicious, the broth was very light and subtle but had such a palatable taste. The wontons were very tender and full of flavor. But the most peculiar and interesting part was some type of green leaf vegetable that was included. Definitely a great addition to the traditional wonton soup. My colleagues had ordered the salad which appeared to be your basic lettuce, tomato and choice of dressing. By this time, which was only around 12:15pm, the place was completely full, and people were still trying to come in to be seated. I could tell this place had some great food and the large crowd spoke for it. In about another 8-9 minutes, the Thai Spring Rolls (silver noodles, cabbage, carrot and mushrooms deep fried in an egg roll skin) had come out. The Thai Spring rolls were not very oily, slightly if at all were very delicious. They were complemented with what I believe was a duck sauce with a bit of chili pepper flakes in it. The lunch entree took a bit longer to come out, about 10 minutes. The Beef Pad Basil (sauteed onions, chili peppers, bell peppers, carrots, scallions in basil sauce) with rice was very delicious. The beef was tender, veggies were just the way I like them with a bit of a crunch, not mushy. The basil sauce was not very spicy at all (for level 3) for what I was expecting. For those craving more spice, you may want to ask the waitress if she can crank it up a notch. I also found the basil sauce to be ever-so-slightly on the salty side. The dish was great regardless. My colleagues had also seemed to like their dishes very much also. I would definitely come back here again to try their other dishes. And kudos to the one waitress (I believe her name is Jenny?) who does it all, except the cooking who I believe is performed by 3 chefs in the back. read more
