A good friend invited me to Lindenhurst Diner this past Sunday and I'm so glad I accepted. He chose this spot as he and his girlfriend are vegan and they have a massive menu full of plant-based and non-meat options. While I can be quite the carnivore, I'm always one to try new things and went with their vegan chicken and waffles. It was pretty delicious actually and really hit the spot. I did diverge from the vegan-route for a moment, when I ordered myself a hot chocolate, with "real" milk. They were even so kind to include mini marshmallows, which had me feeling like a kid again. Ordered Sunday breakfast. I had the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes and the Bronx Tale Omelette . Everything was delicious. The pancakes were huge. They are the size of a dinner plate and you get 3. They were light and fluffy and you could eat them without syrup. Yeah, that good! The omelette was delicious. The potatoes could have used a little more seasoning, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and it was enough for two days. Portion sizes are huge here. Keep that in mind when you order. I'm very upset with the Lindenhurst diner. I have been a frequent customer and have never had an issue before. However, yesterday, I tried to take advantage of their bogo cash only wrap sale they texted me about. My cousin and I ordered 2 wraps at our table and 2 to go for our other family members who did not attend (to go). However, as we went to pay, we were told the sale is only one per table and that our waitor forgot to tell us. I was very upset because our waitor not informing us was not our fault and yet we had to pay for it. If they are going to make a sale only one per table/customer, they should list that in their texts and in person. I probably will not be returning, but I just wanted to advise other patrons to prevent them from the costs I had to pay. read more

The experience I had here left me speechless. My friend recommended a new diner to me.. the Lindenhurst diner. I decided to call an order in for pickup. A southwest wrap, a Texas burger, and two grilled cheese with bacon. Sounds pretty good ?? Right ?? Hahaha WRONG. You couldn't be more WRONG. I picked up my order, check out was nice & easy... got home and set the table for my family and we started to eat. My younger brother was a little late to the table and noticed hairs on his grilled cheese before he dove in. My mother already almost finished one half of her grilled cheese and froze with fear. To ALL of our surprise BOTH grilled cheeses *all FOUR pieces* were COVERED in little fibrous hairs. They didn't look like hairs from a head but they looked like they were from a sweater or the FLOOR. One of the grilled cheeses also had some dusty dead bug looking thing in it. My mother began gagging and threw up at the dinner table which REALLY added some spice to the night ! So not only did we receive the worst quality food. I also had the pleasure of cleaning vomit thanks to the dirty a** Lindenhurst diner. Not sure if they rub their food on the floor, or if the kitchen is covered with rats and this is animal fur, reuse old ass oil or don't clean stoves etc ORRR maybe the staff soak up their pit sweat on their shirts before serving it but our food was coated in delicious fibrous hairs !! I asked them for kitchen camera footage because I WANT to know what we consumed because were terrified were going to get sick. Apparently a manager or owner is calling me in a few days because he's on "vacation" right now. First time customers AND last time customers. Do not go to this disgusting establishment... UNLESS you enjoy hairy food ! Photos will be attached ! Put your phone brightness up and look closely at the pictures. PS- I brought ALL of the food back so they could see for themselves and did not think we ate our meal and then asked for a refund. A great diner with many vegan options, the menu recently changed but I have been able to ask the waitress for a non-vegan meal to be made vegan as it used to be on their old menu and they are able to accommodate the request. I love ordering from this diner, I've never had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant but they are exceptionally quick with getting the food out through door dash. Both times I ordered my food was in my hand within 15mins. That's impressive. I've had the corned beef carving board sandwich and while the meat was great I was disappointed with the small amount of coleslaw and not being given any mustard. I've also ordered the Caesar salad which was great aside from them putting a full pound of Parmesan cheese on top of it. I went ahead and ordered again getting the skirt steak wedge salad. It was okay. But again their was a pound of bleu cheese on the salad. It was way too much. If your ordering a salad with cheese definitely ask them for a light amount. Went for lunch and the restaurant was basically empty, so when the food took so long to arrive we were surprised. Our appetizer came out with our entree, which defeats the purpose of the word "appetizer." The worst thing about our experience was the prices on the menu. Absolutely ridiculous for diner food. How have I not known about this place until now?! Friends, I've found vegan diner heaven! I never in a million years thought I'd be able to find a single decent option at a traditional NY diner (that wasn't a dedicated vegan diner like Champs in Brooklyn), but Lindenhurst Diner isn't a typical Long Island diner. As most of you probably know, NY diners are famous for having enormous menus that aren't especially curated and despite all this variety, there's really nothing for vegans unless you get a stripped salad. Veggie burgers are often unimaginative Sysco affairs and always with egg or cheese in the patty. At least in my experience. But here, there's an entire vegan menu and it's so enticing, I must have sat there for 10 minutes staring at it in awe and appreciation. I cannot possibly decide, I marveled. There's burgers. There's sandwiches. There's pasta. There's tacos and nachos. There's breakfast all day and a couple Greek specialties (Impossible products for all burgers/meaty things, which is my favorite). My family split an order of cauliflower wings. We were 6 people and the enormous app satisfied us all! We opted for Buffalo sauce and seriously, this was the perfect plate of cauliflower wings, crispy and drenched with sauce. Because I can't get enough Buffalo everything, I ordered the Buffalo chick'n grilled cheese, with tots and a side of guac. There was an avalanche of tots on that plate! The sandwich is delicious, with the chick'n nice and crispy and a decent texture that isn't spongy. It's a cheese sauce rather than vegan cheese slices, which I preferred on this sandwich. Because I never eat grilled cheese, I forgot that what I don't love about it is that the bread is buttered before grilling, making it a bit too much for me. This is probably what most people DO want, so you're good here, but I think next time I'd opt for something else. I mean, why wouldn't I want to try something different next time when there's an ENTIRE menu of options that are positively intoxicating, right? I must mention again that portion sizes are huge, which is often not the case in a vegan restaurant. We had a late lunch and I was full until lunch the next day, as was everyone else in my party (the non vegs were just as impressed with their food as my brother and I, by the way). They have a full bar and a vegan dessert menu that changes on the regular (outsourced). I love it! This will go down as a must for my future visits to LI. read more

The food, it's presentation, taste and the service in this fine diner were on the evening we are there, outstanding to extraordinary in almost all aspects. My wife ate and enjoyed the Texas Burger on a crossed brioche bun and a substantial wire basket of fries. I ordered Spinach and Feta Stuffed Chicken dinner. Presentation and the construction of this meal was way different than I expected, in a good way. Made of two long boneless fillets of white chicken fried and breaded --on the outside only of each fillet. Between the fillets was the spinach and feta cheese- hence its name. It was exceptionally pleasing to the eye and taste buds. On the plate was a bowl of dipping sauce made of butter and dill which was a deliciously perfect complement to the chicken. Service at the diner is different than most others; the servers also clean glasses behind the counter and spot weep the floor. Our server who is known there as " Joey Rigatoni" was exceptional. Didn't like their coffee or their bacon, but did enjoy their thick marble rye bread. Service disappointed: first, I asked the waiter to ask the kitchen to butter my toast ... didn't happen; second, I asked the bus boy for Splenda for my coffee ... didn't deliver; third, I asked for a red tomato instead of home fries ... I got the sliced tomato, but it was pale orange on the outside and yellow-to-white on the inside. read more

I was appalled at the food at this diner. My daughter got the chopped steak which is actually just a chunk of ground beef. The salmon was the cheapest cut of salmon I've ever had, it was actually a salmon steak which I do not eat and have never went to a restaurant who even sold a salmon steak. Seems like all they had mostly was every version of cheesecake, however, the star of the dessert menu are the milkshakes, loaded w whipped cream and an assortment of different flavors. The cotton candy milk shake was so fluffy and pretty, but super sweet. Can't say much for the food cause we didn't eat, but the seafood bisque was pretty inedible. Nuff said. Suggestion for the strawberry shake: add some strawberry slices on top of whipped cream. If I could, I would reduce the sweetness. read more

Only thing is I wish they had more options for vegan cheese not a fan of the cashew cheese they use. We've ordered from this diner several times, and it's never been great. This is the last time, and it was particularly awful. Ordered the Napoli wrap, which was supposed to be grilled chicken, bruschetta, mozzarella and balsamic. The wrap was 90% chicken, dry, had about 4 pieces of diced tomato and way too much onion. The spinach artichoke "dip" was gross. Had the consistency of mashed potatoes and even as a professional chef, I had no idea what I was eating. It tasted like a roux, and seemed to have no cheese in it at all, because it didn't even "string" when you dipped a chip in it. Southwest salad was drenched with dressing, and had at least 2 chicken cutlets on top of it with almost no lettuce. The last time we had an issue with this place, I ordered a Greek salad twice in two weeks. Each time, they forgot the olives. We called and spoke to the manager both times. The second time they messed up, instead of admitting they forgot the olives again, he told us that they didn't have them. Then when they remade the salad and we picked it up again 20 minutes later, someone has gone out to get kalamata olives. At 11:30 pm . Don't waste your money here, go to the Lindencrest instead. read more

I order an American Cheese omelette with chicken sausage and turkey bacon. I also got an english muffin with whipped butter. I was able to construct a pretty great breakfast sandwich with all that food. Oh and it also came with home fries. The service was fine. The waiter forgot our drinks but quickly brought them over after we reminded him. If I lived in this area, I would go back! My vegan and vegetarian friends both seemed to really enjoy their meals. Used to love this diner but slowly going downhill. Went here tonight 4/8 and waited 20 minutes before someone even came to give us water. They have one server doing the entire floor with 1 busser. I was also very dissatisfied with the bill at the end. We went with another family but sat at the same table and we each got a big one her one burger special (two separate checks) NOT Family. When it was time to pay the credited the family we were with their buy one get one but not us. We thought it was an oversight but when we questioned it they said "one per table"... how do the decide which family gets the discount? Very strange and the waiter should have told us that when we said we want the big one get one burgers. It is a very unprofessional way to do business and after years of going this will probably be my last time just out of principle. read more

Host sat us at the end booth adjacent to the bathrooms. A few minutes after being seated and ordering construction started in one of the bathrooms with loud grinding and hammering which continued all throughout our breakfast. When I spoke to the manager when I went to pay about being seated there by the host his excuse was "he's just a kid" and "you should have said something". You would think a manager would tell his staff to keep patrons seated away from the noise. He offered us nothing in return and we will never eat there again. read more
