This was my third time eating here and they never disappoint. We came on a Friday afternoon and immediately sat down, the place was hopping with customers and servers. Our waitress was extremely friendly and was attentive. The food was out of this world. The eggs were perfect, bacon was flavorful, and the sourdough toast was delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her burger and fries. We both shared the pancakes which were unexplainably delicious. The inside of course is decorated with traditional farm decor and cows. Came here on a Sunday morning and it was quite busy. But the restaurant was very spacious so we were able to snag a seat without having to wait for too long. The restaurant was nicely decorated with a rustic farm vibe that was very inviting. The staff were so attentive and friendly even with how busy the restaurant was, so huge kudos to them. The food was also very worth the drive. The lemon ricotta pancake was not too sweet but I loved that the flavors blended together perfectly. This was my first time at Maureen's Kitchen. I met a friend on a Wednesday late morning. The parking lot was busy but there is ample parking. We were greeted very quickly and shown to a table right away. While there were a few tables empty the place was hopping. there is an extensive breakfast & lunch menu and a board with several specials. My friend got the plain croissant French toast with blueberries and sausage. It was a nice sized portion and she said it was good. I wasn't in the mood for breakfast so got the board special of soup and sandwich. There was a choice of soup broccoli cheddar or meatball escarole. I got the escarole. The sandwich was a pastrami/turkey/swiss on grilled rye with a side. The soup was tasty though the meatballs had a strange spongy texture. I wish they would have allowed me to finish my soup before bringing the sandwich but I guess they want to keep the kitchen moving. The sandwich was ok but nothing special, the side of coleslaw was good. The service was attentive if a bit rushed. I'm guessing sticking to breakfast items is the way to go here. read more

The food always comes hot and the specials are delicious I had puppy's skillet and it was so good with avocado, hash brown and hot honey! Such a fun place. Lived in Suffolk for 5 years before trying Maureen's for the first time. Food was excellent Service as friendly We sat on the screened in porch. It's a bit cramped because they are so busy so I wouldn't recommend anyone with a stroller or small baby's that need to be in a car seat still. I love that they have the option of one pancake so you get try more then one speciality. It was a great way to start a fun packed day. read more

The food was wonderful! A good proper breakfast with a lot to choose from. The service was very attentive and good, but it is also very crowded and you will have to wait for a table even on a Monday morning; figure a 15-25 minute wait. The pancakes I ordered with the banana inside (they also put some in top) were excellent and my friend's meals were all delicious and as ordered. They were spot on with frequent coffee refills and they run a tight efficient ship. I would definitely eat there again but as it takes time to get seated I will make sure I don't have time constraints. On the whole it was nice to see a local business doing well and busy. I figured a Monday morning around 10:15-10:45 wouldn't have a line, but their food beats any chain restaurant out there and its reputation precedes them so it is super busy and very crowded. It's getting very expensive to eat out these days especially if you're on a budget, so you want to make sure you're not going to be disappointed when you trade your time and your hard earned money for a meal; you won't be disappointed at Maureen's. While you're now paying for breakfast what you would for dinner 10-15 years ago you want food that that is above average and while busy you can still hear and enjoy those you're eating with. This is a neighborhood staple with its well known cow theme decor, delicious, down-home food, and friendly service. It's still family run, often with a few family members behind the counter and has seating inside in booths and counter top seats as well as seating along the enclosed patio. The food is great, I'm a Dan of breakfast which is often pretty busy, especially on weekends as well as lunch but they close at 2pm most days. Favorites include the Egg specials, chocolate chip pancakes, and Egg McMoe for breakfast and the Salsalito Turkey and the Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwich for lunch. Parking can be a little limited on weekends but there's also a lot across the street. read more

I'm not too proud to admit when I've made a mistake. In this case, I've been doing Maureen's Kitchen wrong. For nearly the same price as a single specialty pancake order, doing one of the combos at the top of the menu, with eggs and bacon and toast and only a slight upcharge for a specialty pancake--that's the full breakfast experience and absolutely the way to go. It's nice to see Maureen's much the same as it was twenty years ago, both in decor and taste. Inflation elsewhere has caught up with their reputation for higher prices, so it evens out. As far as ambiance, it was a very busy restaurant. We waited and were eventually seated. To be expected on the island on a Saturday morning. One mom stayed with her kid at a table after eating for over an hour just sitting. I know she's "entitled" but also, come on! That grinds my gears. People were hungry and waiting this is long island! Move along... So honestly the "ambiance" or I should say environment made me anxious and feel constrained by tight quarters instead of relaxed. The pancakes were fluffy and good but would probably go with a different flavor if I returned or plain. Lemon ricotta was good but also didn't strike me in any way. I visit Maureen's often with my husband. We had the pleasure today of having Jack as our waiter, who we often see behind the counter, on the grill. To say this young man is personable, kind and takes pride in his work is an understatement. He made an already incredible establishment that much better. Jack also possesses the demeanor you need in the restaurant industry.....calm, patient and unbelievably friendly. He also makes the best iced vanilla latte you'll find in all of Long Island!
