    Blt wrap with fries
    Stephanie G.

Let's make one thing clear. This is a hole in the wall. But this hole in the wall knows how to make great food! My mom and I decided to try out some place new for lunch this week and through my internet digging I came across the BLT Cafe. After reading some reviews online I had high expectations and they were definitely met! I got a BLT wrap with fries and my mom got some wrap that involved veggies and turkey with mac salad. Both of us were very happy with our choices. The food came out quick and was so delicious! Great service too. My favorite part was that the fries seemed twice fried. They were so crispy and amazing. We will absolutely be back. Perfect spot for comfort food.

I ate half of French toast already , it was very good

Came early as it does fill up. Last time I sat at counter as tables were full. Came on a Saturday morning and got a table . It's not fancy but it's clean and service is good. Waitress was pleasant and there are refills on coffee. I had the French toast which was very good. Hash browns were good and so was Canadian bacon. I would recommend for a nice leisurely breakfast

Food is great here, total hole in the wall place. Would be even better if they redid or fixed up the actual place. However, such personal service and delicious food. Turkey club was fantastic and they use boars head cold cuts (way better than thick cut turkey). The macaroni salad was delicious and tasted so homemade. Pancakes were also so good! Will be back. There is a small counter with a few stools and then a few tables. Inside is very small. Excited to try new things.

Baked Apples over French Toast. ABSOLUTELY scrumptious!!!

Jose and his staff are still slaying the breakfast and lunch game but NOW.. he's doing dinner Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Of course I had to see my favorite buddies at BLT for now dinner. I personally had the shrimp francese with rice and my veggie was spinach. My God! Jose I will say this forever and ever. You slayed dinner! The shrimps were a nice size and just partying it up in my insides!!! Have I ever had a bad meal from here? Nope. Never. The only thing that's a little difficult currently is parking due to the work on Lake Avenue but when there's a will there's a way to my beloved BLT. PS - If you've never been what the heck are you waiting for?!

2 eggs with corn beef hash

We came across this place on yelp and reviews were positive. It is a very small place, which we welcome as it has a nice family owned feel. I got the patty melt sandwich which they included an egg inside. I asked for medium and it was cooked to perfection. It came with a side of fries. My son got the 2 eggs with corn beef hash and he gobbled it all up. It came with toast and warm buttery spread. My wife got the mushroom omelette and she was astounded at the portion. All in all, we all really enjoyed our food and especially for a diner, the attentiveness of the waitresses were awesome to witness.

Very impressed with the food, got corn beef hash and eggs easy over with home fries. Food was a 10 service was a 7. A little hole in the wall joint that knows how to make great food

What a cute little place. It seems that everyone knows everyone here. Lots of regulars seem to frequent here. There's a few tables and a counter. Lots of take orders were being made this morning. My boyfriend and I enjoyed breakfast here on a Sunday morning. I went with an egg platter with home fries, toast and kielbasa. Everything was delicious. The kielbasa was a little salty, but still yummy. The home fries were nice and crispy and full of flavor. My boyfriend went with the roasted pepper, sausage and mozzarella omelette. It was huge and delicious. It came with toast or a bagel. He went with an egg everything bagel. The bagel was yummy. He also went with a chocolate milk. It was one of the best chocolate milks I've ever had. Service was great. All the employees made sure we had everything that we needed. Prices are super reasonable and the portions are pretty big. We will be back!

Breakfast was delicious and it was relaxing sitting outside. The server was very friendly and polite. There seems to be some neighborhood regulars, which is a reflection of a good food spot and gives a community feel.

Fresh high quality food! Home made soups and salads daily. Yummy breakfast specialties! Eat outside in good weather. Friendly staff. I love the stuffed French toast made with fresh fruit, not compotes that are sickening sweet. Fresh breakfast potatoes cooked from scratch...boiling, peeling and seasoning the potatoes, you can't ask for better!

    Chicken cutlet sandwich with fries

Another delicious lunch at BLT!!! I ordered the chicken cutlet with roasted peppers, greens, and mozzarella on multigrain bread....loved it! We also ordered a hamburger, which was equally as delicious! The servers are extremely friendly, and our experience there is always pleasurable. The outdoor seating is lovely, covered by a tent and surrounded by bushes, giving it a relaxing atmosphere. Considering the current circumstances, I feel they did an amazing job protecting both themselves and the clientele by wearing masks....We will be back soon for some more yummy food!!

They don't take reservations. After about 10 minutes my friend and I plus 3 teens (my kids and a friend) were starving and Schnitzels was loud and crowded. We headed a few doors down to Sweet Mama's. Seated immediately. My friend and I shared the steak with penne dinner special and a Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My daughter ordered penne with butter off the kids menu. My son got a turkey burger and his friend got a grilled chicken sandwich on a hero instead of a wrap. Now the good -- portions were huge! My son could barely fit his burger in his mouth and it also had a half avocado on it. They didn't skimp. Steak with penne was delicious and so was the Cobb salad. We all shared off each other's plates because everything looked so amazing. Now the bad. My daughter's pasta was elbows, not penne as indicated on the menu. Not a catastrophe but she was looking forward to penne. Then - my son's friend put some ketchup on his plate for his fries. It was ,.. not red but brown. The bottle had an 8/25 expiration. We are in April 2026. We told the server and she said it's because it's the "simply ketchup" with no artificial dyes. She offered him ketchup packets "with fake dyes" but by that point he lost his appetite for fries. We grabbed ketchup from another table, same brand, Heinz Simply. You can see the difference in color. We showed the server and she acted annoyed. I told her we didn't want anyone getting sick on that ketchup and pointed out the expiration date. She rolled her eyes and said "oh I'll just throw it away." She kind of had an attitude and didn't even apologize. So that's why 4 stars. We'd go back but request not to have that server. The food is fantastic but watch your ketchup! If someone put it on a burger it would have been ruined.

Not terrible, but also not memorable…read more Sweet Mama's is a hybrid concept tucked away in the adorable Stony Brook Village. On one end, ice cream. In the middle, restaurant, and towards the back, a bar. Surprisingly at 11am, for a table of four, we waited about 10 mins for a table. We ordered a variety of things, from soup, to bennys and a mimosa flight. The mimosa flight was very cute but mine ended up tasting just like white wine. The real disappointment imo was the Belgian Waffle. Now I know, part of this is my fault, for expecting more than what the description laid out. But for $12 I got one crispy and tender waffle with powdered sugar and that was it. No side of fruit, no home fries, nothing. Everyone else enjoyed their food, which I was happy about! And service was wonderful. But for $12 for one waffle, this place may be a biiiiiiit overpriced for my liking.

That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.
