Get Figgy With It
Andrew I.

Delicious food as always, I love trying the specials! Ambiance is as lovely as ever too. A cute, trendy, hippie cafe. However, coming on a Sunday for brunch was a mistake. The spot is in high demand and gets packed quickly. We expected a wait, and didn't mind the half hour before we were seated. However, unfortunately, the service was wonderfully friendly and kind, but extremely slow. It seems both the kitchen and the service team are woefully understaffed for a busy weekend. The pickup line crowded all the tables, with three people up against my seat the whole meal. Also, likely because of the backup, one of our meals was made wrong (wrong filling in the omelette). The staff were super nice and got it replaced very quickly, even offering a discount for that meal, but it was a bit upsetting when we waited around 45 minutes for the food. Our drinks, two specialty teas, came after the food arrived. This is a great spot if you're free on a weekday, but weekends are rough!

Big fan of Chai Tea lattes and decided to try one here . It was much better than ones that I have had before, even in big chain stores. The inside is pretty groovy too ! I didn't have a chance to try the food but the menu was appealing.

Used to love this place for the hippie vibe, fun latte flavors and seasonal menu, but recently the specials seem a bit expensive, even though portions are large. Staff has been pretty unfriendly in the past couple years, which is why I stopped coming as often. I understand if they're busy but baristas don't really acknowledge you, even to tell you that they'll be with you in a moment. Even dining in, I felt like the waitress couldn't wait for me to finish ordering so she could do her next task. Drinks also take awhile to order if you're picking up. Even if you order ahead online, they don't make the drinks until you arrive, which is nice because it's fresh, but it isn't good if you're in a rush. A bit sad because this was a favorite

I can't believe it took me so long to try Soul Brew! This place is incredible. There's a nice laid back vibe to the place and they have cool art work throughout the restaurant! They have a beautiful bar you can sit at or you can opt for a table. The place was packed on a weekday when I went for lunch with a friend but we were lucky to get a table upon walking in. The service was great and our waitress couldn't have been nicer. The food was the best part of the experience overall because it was so amazing. I got the feeling tot burrito (sorry I forgot to take a picture) and opted to get the chipotle sauce on the side. The burrito was big and flavorful and I LOVED the chipotle sauce. I also decided to order a rainbow cookie hot chocolate which was unbelievable and came in a huge mug. I loved every bite and sip of my order. This place is a 10/10!

This is one of our favorite breakfast & coffee spots! We absolutely love their lattes (hot & iced), and their breakfast burritos are amazing. We went in early spring and they had a carrot cake pancake special that rocked our world. My only gripe is that they're small - I honestly wouldn't attempt it to visit prime breakfast time on a weekend because I just assume it's a very long wait.

Food and coffee are always so delicious! Staff is always so friendly and extremely tentative. My husband and I try to go once a week haha! Support your local coffee shops!!!

Have been coming here since before COVID. During the pandemic we ordered probably a couple times a week doing curbside pickup. Soul Brew is such a gem. Their lattes are so good, and can always count on a great cup of coffee. The food also is some of the best breakfast food around. Shout out to 'Bird is the word' breakfast sandwich. Great pancakes and specials too! The big negative is service. Service was never this place's strong suit, but I feel like in the last 6 months it's gotten really bad. Last month I was given a buzzer to wait, after being told it would be 20-30 minutes. I waited in the car and 45 minutes later came in. Staff had seated other people that walked in and forgot that I was even waiting with a buzzer . I don't bother coming here during busy times anymore, especially on the weekends. Take out is your friend with Soul Brew!

Everyone be tahm bout Soul Brew, so I had to go check it out. Gotta say, it was aight. Nun too crazy. I got the Healthy Panini, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend it--way too healthy . We also tried the Almond Butter Toast, and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't anything to cry about. Just kinda mid. We also got four mimosas at 8 a.m. (because why not?), but they were also mid. A little too sweet. The staff was super nice, though, and the vibe inside definitely gave that cozy breakfast energy. Overall, it's a decent spot to check out if you're curious, but I wouldn't go again.

What's the wait like on a Saturday morning? Do they take reservations?

They don't take reservations. The place is quite small and you could wait anywhere from 10 minutes to a half hour. You can take a buzzer to your car or walk around.

The artwork on the walls adds a personal touch and gives the café a relaxed, inspiring vibe. It's the kind of place that makes you want to open your laptop, sip your drink, and settle in for a productive afternoon. I ordered the sugar-free brown sugar latte, and it was absolutely fantastic. It had just the right balance of rich espresso flavor and smooth sweetness...not overly sugary, but still comforting and flavorful. You can tell they really care about the quality of their drinks here. The fact that they offer sugar-free options is such a thoughtful touch for those who want to enjoy something indulgent without all the sugar. They also offer dairy free alternatives. They also have a great selection of baked goods and pastries to go along with your coffee...everything from muffins and cookies to croissants and other treats that pair perfectly with their lattes and teas. It's nice to have something fresh and tasty on the side, especially if you're stopping in for breakfast or a mid-day snack. One of the things I love most about Sweetwaters is the seasonal menu. They have creative fall drinks that bring all the cozy flavors of the season; perfect for chilly mornings or afternoon pick-me-ups. It's clear the staff takes pride in keeping the menu interesting and fresh. The staff themselves deserve a special mention. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely kind. You can tell they enjoy being there, which adds so much to the overall experience. The music was also a fun surprise...hearing "The Time Warp" from The Rocky Horror Show while sipping my latte definitely made me smile, and the rest of the playlist kept the energy light and enjoyable without being distracting. Another bonus: there's a drive-thru, which makes it super convenient for busy mornings when you want great coffee without leaving your car. All in all, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea in Smithtown checks every box -- delicious drinks, tasty baked goods, cozy atmosphere, great music, friendly service, and a creative environment. Whether you're looking for a comfortable place to do some work, meet up with friends, or just unwind with a great cup of coffee and a pastry, this café is a gem. Highly recommended!
