I'm not one to write bad reviews but this place is definitely off my list. Local to home I figured I'd try it out since Alpine had a line out the door on Saturday afternoon before Father's Day. Initially we had ordered two rolls and was told no we ordered three so we shrugged it off. I'd also like to note we were paying with a debit card and it's slightly cheapest with cash. The black and white cookie looked delicious so I opted to get one of those. When being rung up we had sticker shock. $9.31 for 1 large black and white cookie. When I said something about it the girl said she'd put it back but we felt bad so we said "no that's okay." because we both felt awkward and it must be pretty special. The apple turnover was $5.20 and lacking apples. We actually threw it in the garbage after 2 bites. All in all the items were not good and not very fresh tasting in our opinion but to each is their own. I honestly with all due respect feel some places are really price gouging since the pandemic. I get that people lost businesses and all but this place is less than a year old and the prices were not justified and not worth it might I add. I always try to frequent the new businesses in town, so I stopped by Panepinto bakery but didn't realize it had restaurant pricing. The person at the counter was friendly and helpful. I ordered a Greek omelette to go. It came with a bagel or toast. The home fries were extra. $22+ yikes!!! The ingredients were not cooked into the omelette, simply folded over and the home fries were a mushy mess. I also ordered 3 mini pastries. They did not taste fresh. $8 for the three. I'm not sure how busy this place gets because I was the only one in there on a Sunday morning. On a positive note, it looks like there is plenty of seating. Well, I did my good deed for the week and patronized a new establishment. Now it's back to places that I really love where I can get good food at a decent price. read more

You need to come in here and have a cuppa coffee and a biscotti. They have a plethora of pastry offerings. They also have bagels so if you're in the mood to pick up a half a dozen, you can do that here. There is a full coffee menu, including lattes and cappuccino, and they also offer smoothies. The staff is super welcoming and there is plenty of seating, including outdoor seating with umbrellas. This bakery has great ambience. Everything was delicious. read more

Tried for the first time, we had a coupon and went walked in on a Sunday. Empty. 2 ladies just looking at us. Broken English, didn't understand what we were saying. We bought a few things to try. Stale muffin, stale croissant, bad fake cheesecake thing/tart. Stale rolls. Squashed rainbow bagel. Not going back. The only thing that was good is that they fixed my smoothie. I asked for a kale smoothie. They put milk in it. what? Who puts milk in with kale? ugh! So they fixed it, with just kale and no milk. read more

Very pricy, a $54 breakfast for 3 people! We had to wait 40 minutes for two small Acai bowls, a sandwich and two coffees while there were only 2 other people in the bakery. When the lady giving us the food came out, she didn't know our order and couldn't speak English. On the tv was a pool but it was loud and splashy. At one point it sounded like kids were laughing and playing in the pool but they were not visible. It wasn't relaxing like it was probably meant to be. read more

Don't go here for breakfast. First off they had no bagels ready at 730am. Then they forgot to put sausage and cheese on the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. It is also more expensive than other delis and the egg sandwich doesn't come with coffee or tea. Highly disappointed! read more

I really wanted to love this bakery. The very first week they opened, someone brought me these amazing stuffed croissants and they were absolutely delicious. I was so excited to go back and pick them up again for my husband's birthday, but unfortunately, they just weren't the same -- dramatically less fresh than that first time. More recently, I stopped in to grab cookies for a party, and sadly, they were hard and tasted stale. To be fair, it was in the afternoon on a holiday weekend, but no matter the timing, baked goods shouldn't feel like they could break a tooth. On a positive note, the staff has always been incredibly kind and welcoming. They even gave my daughter a free cookie just for being her adorable self, which was such a sweet gesture. I truly appreciate their hospitality, but the quality of the baked goods hasn't been consistent enough for me to rave about this place yet. read more

So I initially went there when they opened and got a few things. The cookies were good. Rolls are hard on the outside and ok soft on the inside. Pastries were good but not life changing, certainly good enough being almost walking distance from my house. Got a package from too good to go and the bagels that night when I went to have one were terrible and today when I walked in I made up my mind about this place when I asked for a loaf of Irish soda bread and they wanted to charge $16.95. Charging my wife and I an extra 52 cents each to add butter to our breakfast sandwiches and getting charged $4.00 for one 11oz tropicana orange juice bottle above the already higher than normal prices they charge was enough for me to cut all ties. There are plenty of very fine breakfast shops around my area that just do better! read more

If you like delicious bakery goods go to this bakery. We have gone twice this week, we had an almond filled croissant, slivered almonds on top, toasted to perfection, my husband claims not to like almond filled anything and today when I asked him to please bring me the piece of pastry I had left, he couldn't bring himself to tell me he ate it, so we went back tonight. A cinnamon roll, not too sweet so yummy, their breads are really good and their bagels are just as good. I recommend this bakery, a little pricey but I rather have a small dessert than a huge one made with crisco instead of butter. read more

The workers are very nice. I have only gotten egg sandwiches and coffee from there but they seem to always mess something up. First time they forgot two things, so I told them and they went to make it. I waited 15 minutes for them to tell me they didn't have hash browns and that they could offer me French fries for breakfast.. and I already paid so I said yes and then waited another 10 minutes. And everytime I want to give them another chance they forget or mess something else up and I'm too lazy to ask them to change it cause I want something quick... food is good but for how much you pay you would think they wouldn't really mess it up. First time visiting Panepinto bakery here in Smithtown and it was truly amazing I love all the different kinds of pastries and bagels that they have. Especially the almond croissant is extremely good. They have a wide range of small pastries which is great to bring for parties if you wanted to bring different things for everyone to try. Awful experience. Never coming back. I'm a patient person, I understand you could not have cash in the drawer because the manager refuses to put cash in the drawer apparently allegedly but then waiting 2 mins to get your change..then ok it looks nice in there, but there was like no one else in there which should've been our first red flag except this poor couple that had been waiting for a biscuit or something, clearly also irritated. Then we proceed to wait for our 2 TOASTED EGG BAGELS w/ BUTTER for over 10mins. Mind you again, NO ONE ELSE CAME, it's empty, they're not swamped, nothing else to do but get two bagels w butter, working between 3 ppl, 2 at the register and one guy in the back. Literally waiting for these bagels was the biggest mistake we made. We finally get them, and they're BURT, like char..me and my sister were shocked..we waited that long thing like did they miss place the butter, make the bagels from scratch even though they had some pre made like every other store, making all these excuses like what could POSSIBLY be taking that long for 2 bagels w/ butter. We come to find out that entire time was spent burning those bagels and they had no shame in giving those to us the way they were. Thank GOD I checked in the car, my sister was fed up, took the bagels and went to ask for a refund.Apparently they also don't know how to do that..ofc. They just charged Something random in the register and took the cash out the register. We literally had so much time we were looking at all the cakes and pastries. Macarons store bought, the cakes made poorly, like the rainbow cake was obviously layered way too soon while the cake was still hot and the layer slid right off. I saw one cake with WRAPPED HERSEY KISSES ON IT, among other things. Like that's not even a stylistic choice it's just pure stupidity. Everything looked wonky, don't let the nice clean shiny ambience fool you. My guess is this place won't last through the new yr and they'll have to close down. I feel bad for the workers, obviously not trained and that's on management. Poor customer service, and I can't imagine how it would've been if that place had more than 2 customers. This is clearly the kind of place where ppl go, have a bad experience, and never come back, but i think no one cared enough to right a review.
