I've been meaning to try this cafe for a while, it's been recommended by a few people. First of all, the coffee is probably the best I've had at a cafe. I like my coffee with breakfast simple with a dash of milk and some sugar. I love that they had milk substitute specifically oat milk. I like a sweet breakfast so I ordered Nikki's Nutella crepe. I really enjoyed it. It was delicious and wasn't heavy. The service here is great there wasn't much of a wait at all for our food and our waitress kept our coffee cups full. I like that antique decorations at the entrance. I definitely want to try their other locations.

This's our first time coming here. You can join the waitlist online before heading to the restaurant, so it will save you some time / having to wait outside for a table! It's busy when we went on a Sunday! I do like that their coffee is piping hot, a lot of times when you order coffee at the restaurants they are usually like warm. Food came out fairly quick, I got the start your day and added half an order of French toast bites!! The infamous French toast bites were delicious, Will definitely order again. They do have lunch menu items available as well. They also have a variety of specialty coffee, drinks as well!! Definitely a great spot for brunch if you are in the area, plenty of parking outside.

Coffee - mid/okay Omelette- mid. Chunks of hard feta (no melt at all), not a lot of flavor. Burrito- tiny! We even asked if it was big and the sever said yes. It was about the size of a Taco Bell burrito. decent flavor. Home fries - tater tot vibes Service fine - kept having to ask for sugar. Gave me 3 at a time.

The Prefect Breakfast Spot, Giving you an experience of a diner and the elevated dishes that many people crave. Service was amazing and knowledgeable on the menu. I would definitely come back to the restaurant

Came here today with a group of 5 and I must say it never disappoints! It was my first time at the new location which they have down the street of the old one. So huge and spacious and it has windows which bring in so much natural light. I love the design inside. If you're coming on a weekend, definitely join that waitlist! It's super life changing. For example, today when we joined there were 37 parties ahead of us. I would say it moves pretty quickly at times so we were able to get seated sooner than the estimated wait time was. I will say our server wasn't very involved with our table- we even forgot who it was. I will say today however, my Little Italy panini came out missing chicken. I had to ask a different person to fix it which he did promptly. Here's what we had: French Toast Bites- a MUST! always. Between the 5 of us we ended up doing two orders. We also added Nutella on the side Little Italy panini- other than the chicken mishap, everything was delicious as always. Chicken and Waffles- my friend got this and generally enjoyed them but she hoped for the chicken to be crispier than it was given the description it had on the menu. I had some to taste and I would personally say the chicken is seasoned but seasoned a bit too strong.

Very good! Great choices in food and nice mimosa offerings here as well. Very pretty decor inside.

Brownstones has always been one of the brunch staples on Long Island. I am so happy the West Islip location has now expanded as well as it's parking. I recently went to this new location with a friend and both of us could not stop raving about how good the food and coffees were. Also thank you to the waitress for suggesting substitutes when I asked for no meat on my food. I cannot wait to return!

Food was really good definitely will be back as this was my 1st time and i was very happy with my experience and Eva our server

The food here is so so so good !! The service is amazing . The wait staff is super attentive and very sweet and helpful . It's also very peaceful and calming with good vibes . Would defenitly come back here love love love

What more can I say?..... This establishment is overall 5 stars. The food, the service and the restaurant was all excellent. Went on a Monday morning and the place was not crowded but it was full. It was pretty clean and all the wait staff were great. The food is top notch. The reason I took a star off was because you pay for every item. For example, if you order pancakes you would have to order eggs and bacon as side items. All the individual prices were expensive. It's no combos. But WTH? Would I be back? Yes. In a heartbeat. Was it worth it? Yes.

Such a cute little spot! It felt like a diner in a movie. The host was super nice and the food was delicious. My favorite food from here was the fluffy pancakes. It was really good and the fruits were very fresh and tart. I would come here again.

Went to brunch at this new spot near home on west Islip. Got there on a Sunday around 1100 & had to wait about 45mins. It was well worth the wait as the food was delicious, the drinks were great & they even had seasonal ones for the holidays. Our waitress Kristen was great & kept us covered with the hover. Much appreciated. I'll definitely be back with a bigger crew.

Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain the day before, the patio wasn't set up. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They went out of their way to set up a table and chairs for us so we could enjoy breakfast and celebrate together with our dog. Our waitress, Jordan, was patient and friendly, which made the experience even better. Since it was our first visit, they treated us to a free stack, and the seasonal option was the Peach Cobbler Pancakes. We also ordered the Benedict Arnold, Biscuits and Gravy, Early Riser with two eggs our way, a Banana Nut Latte, and an Espresso Martini. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the Espresso Martini definitely packed a punch! At the end of our meal, they brought out a tiny Sprinkle Stack with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to my boyfriend. It was such a sweet surprise and honestly made the outing feel extra special. I'm definitely recommending this location. The food was delicious, but the kindness and customer service really stood out. They helped turn a rainy-day breakfast into a memorable birthday adventure!

My friend got an omelet special with Irish bangers and cheese with home fries and rye toast. She enjoyed the omelet and I have to say the rye bread was outstanding. Don't think it's made in house but were ever they get it from is really good. I got a lunch special of Pot Roast sandwich with onions, mushrooms and cheese on thick cut bread. It was served with a au jus dipping sauce. If it's on the menu don't hesitate to get it, it was outstanding and so stuffed I could only eat half. Will absolutely be returning to Toast !

The servers are all well versed in the menu items, including the oyster selection, which is always a plus for me. Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. My only real critique is that the restaurant gets a bit loud, making it a tad difficult to hear but it's also a sign that the place is doing consistently well.

However, the seating in my opinion is on a tight spaced sidewalk where people and cars pass you by. It was crowded and our waiter was fine. The food took way too long to come out. It was like they forgot our order. It was happy hour for clams so that could have played a part. However, others had received their food before us. When the food finally came, the oysters were sad. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return.

When we arrived, we sat at our outdoor table for at least 10 minutes without being acknowledged by any waitstaff. Once our waiter finally came over, we placed our entire order right away. I mentioned that it was my milestone birthday and later asked if he could take a quick photo of us, and he simply said no. He also barely checked in on our table throughout the meal. The busboys, however, were wonderful--attentive, friendly, and honestly provided the best service of the evening. The menu was very heavy for the summer. Ordered the filet and it came with Brussels and mashed. We live on Long Island with the best produce. Lean into the fresh summer veggies. The lobster tail was so salty. It tasted like a salt lick. There also seemed to be an issue with the outdoor tables, as at least three glasses broke during our dinner. We spent a significant amount of money and chose The Lake House because we wanted to celebrate a special occasion. Unfortunately, nothing about the service made the evening feel special.
