Second chances are so important. Nothing supports that more than visiting a restaurant more than once, especially when your first trip was one filled with mixed feelings and misses. That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected. read more

There is a large parking lot for this restaurant and a few surrounding stores in the shopping center. Be prepared to wait for a table. It is a crowded place and there are many, many other diners around with faster seating in this area, so the fact that people wait 20-40 min here to get a table, tells you just about everything you need to know. This place is great! The staff is tremendously friendly and sweet and kind. When you do get seated, there is no rush to finish quickly at all. Everything is made fresh so it's a calm and enjoyable wait. We ordered "the Gus". It had onions, spinach, feta and gyro meat (which I substituted with beyond sausage). We also had Huevos Rancheros. Now one of my guests had the Great Pancake Challenge! This is four pancakes that you need to eat in 18 minutes. Sounds easy? Forget it. These pancakes are the size of truck tires and as thick and dense as a boulder from a rock quarry. Yet, also absolutely delicious! It's impossible but it's just super fun to try. All the food is excellent and the portions are satisfying. The cost is fair and the vibe of the place adds to the enjoyment of the meal. I'd come back-I might train first for a few months so I can get my picture on the Pancake Challenge Wall of Winners, or I'd probably just order the Gus again! read more

I would really like to first thank whoever the most helpful man was who helped and brought the catered food we ordered straight to my car. As a mom of two littles and being as pregnant as I was- I could not have been more appreciative. We decided to order some breakfast, wraps, coffee, and brunch foods for our friends baby sprinkle. Welcomed at the door with smiles and coffee pots ready to be poured. We were sat immediately and felt like we belonged. We decided on Bloody Mary's instead of coffee and they really hit the spot. I had the poor man's steak and eggs. MJ had the Hot to Tot. Perfect comfort food. Comfortably warm inside and although busy, not too noisy. Our waitress made the experience even better. We came here on a Friday during school break, parking lot was packed but were were able to be accommodated with four adults and a high chair in less than 15 minutes. What a win! They also had buzzers available if we wanted to wait in the car. Service was fast and impeccable. On the outside it may seem like a regular old diner but the decor and menu inside were up to date and beautifully decorated for winter. Zero complaints on food, I even asked for something that was not on the menu and they were able to put it together for me ... kind of basic but it was a BLT, fries and side of chickpeas. Chefs kiss. I was also able to taste the 3-biscuits with chicken, gravy and hint of maple syrup also delightful. I may have also asked for bite of the triple decker grilled cheese, loaded with meat and cheese the combo was fabulous. The baby and dad picked on an enormous plate of short rib Mac and cheese with bacon. Enough to bring home and snack on later. They had a variety of seasonal drinks on a separate menu, I saw one topped with cream and short bread cookie, the recipient did not look disappointed. Massive Pancakes! They were so fluffy too. Be prepared to bring your biggest eater with you to tackle the pancakes. I would split a pancake dish if you don't eat a ton. Service was really awesome. It feels like a small town eatery, with the waitstaff being very friendly and helpful. Whatever they're doing with the hiring, keep that up! A bit disappointed by the avocado toast. I think it says it's an avocado spread instead of being a fresh avocado prepared on demand. The salsa or pico (maybe), was disappointing too. I don't care for the french fries they use either. I'm a fan of shoestring, steak fries, crinkle... literally anything not these fries. That's a personal preference I know. The place is pretty large inside, and it feels like they could squeeze in twice the number of tables.. but they don't! That's awesome for patrons, who aren't seated on top of each of other at most places. It's pretty roomy and there's even counter seating. Love this place. The menu is pretty large and you can get breakfast or lunch foods. This is absolutely a weekend staple place. I could see myself coming every weekend for a great brunch. With all the menu variety, you will have trouble picking just one thing. They even seem to have specialty coffee drinks and other fun things besides coffee and juice. I live far away, but happened to be close while black friday shopping at Smith Haven Mall. There is always a wait, I am told by my sister who goes often as she lives close. We were a large party. Wait was about 30 minutes. Not terrible for a quaint and cozy establishment. Menu is unique with twists on breakfast classics. There are wraps, salads, burgers for lunch and more. Excellent vegan selections as well. Awesome drink selection of coffees and adult beverages to compliment a brunch. Loved the bloody mary. My Irish Coffee looked delightful, but couldn't taste any "irish" Kids got all kinds of iced coffee treats which looked amazing. Everyone loved their meal choices. I went with small plate of cheesy grits with bacon. Delicious, could have been creamier IMO to make them amazing. But grits are very personal. The pancakes are no joke! 3/4 inch thick, and tremendous. Fluffy & flavorful. My niece had the apple pie pancakes which looked amazing. Some had lunch, some had brunch. Everyone's portions were tremendous. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Service was very friendly. Not fast, but expected as place was packed. When we walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly and gave that family feel welcome. I loved the decor, the photo op area in the corner and though the space is smaller, the way it was laid out made it feel bigger than it was. We sat immediately, and our server came over quick. I ordered a cold brew and my dad got a coffee. For meals, I had 2 eggs with cheese and bacon on a croissant served with breakfast potatoes. My dad went with a simple, yet satisfying meal, 2 eggs over easy with sausage and potatoes. They did not disappoint! I love a simple breakfast sandwich, and the croissant was perfectly toasted. I must admit. I only heard of this place recently and it's really not mentioned much. Well of course we tried it and love it. The first thing that caught my attention was the Pancake Challenge. 4 pancakes for $18 has to be eaten in 18 mins and no sharing. If you complete the challenge the price of the pancakes are on them. We didn't do the challenge but we did indulge in some blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were very thick and fluffy and flavorful. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were friendly. Denise was our waitress, she was awesome. Since it was our first time she explained all the popular items on the menu. I ordered The Biscuits and Gravy. This wasn't your ordinary Biscuits and Gravy they actually had chicken tenders inside the biscuits with of course the southern sausage gravy and maple bourbon syrup with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. I have never tasted anything like this and of course in New York it's so hard to find a decent southern biscuits and gravy breakfast. So far this one has been the best I have tried. It's very fulling and you don't need any sides to accommodate it. I will definitely eat here again to explore more of the menu. read more

The food was average and we found the Mac and cheese to be gross. The pancakes were okay but we felt that IHOP pancakes were better. The table was also gross and sticky. I completely forgot to take pictures of my food because I was so excited to eat. It was my first time here and I was blown away. First off, the place is so cute and they were decorated for the holidays and even had Christmas music playing. They have a nice variety of food on the menu but I went with the Hot to Tot which are tater tots with cheese and eggs. It was delicious and full of flavor. This place is not that big and was pretty busy but we got there before the crowd and seated right away. There are about 20ish tables, a big bar area to sit at and looks like they utilize some outdoor space as well. Our server Amanda greeted us immediately upon arrival and took our drink order. They serve breakfast and lunch and everything on the menu looked delicious. It was hard to choose! Ultimately we did and everything was incredible. There is only one thing that is terrible about Nappi's Nook: that it's over 3 hours away from where I live. We were in town visiting for a family wedding and decided to have brunch at Nappi's. Considering it was the weekend and seemed pretty crowded we only waited about 10 mins for a table inside. I started with a specialty Nappuccino, the iced rainbow cookie. It was out of this world delicious. I want to go back just for that alone. For my entree I ordered the short rib Benedict. It took about 30 mins or so for our breakfast, but it was worth the wait. Everything was delicious. Our server was a little distracted, as she dropped the check before we even got our breakfast entrees, but I realized it was for the table next to us and she accidentally dropped it at my table and swiftly walked away. So I presented it to the table next to us and asked if I could get them anything else. We laughed it off, no biggie. All in all a great experience and the next time I'm in town I'll be visiting. read more

A shame it is not larger. Sunday brunch is always great and servers are always polite. We love the pancakes and they are humongous.

Walked in and were immediately seated, very excited to enjoy a very highly spoken about breakfast spot with a regular large crowd and at times...a wait. Service was solid, seats were very close to neighboring guests but no problem as this is typical in the Long Island area. Girlfriend ordered the toasted coconut "nappiccino" from drink menu which offered both a welcoming and promising initial sip unfortunately followed by what appeared to be an entire cup filled with caramel and cheap creamer. For food, my girlfriend ordered the chicken dance. There wasn't much dancing involved when what appeared to be a neglected room temperature eggo waffle accompanied by some air fried Costco chicken tenders covered in a lazy "sausage gravy" was brought to the table. Tasted as described...incredibly disappointing. I ordered the Corned beef hash Benedict...big Benedict guy so I have zero shame in saying this was some of the worst I have ever encountered in all my god given days on this green spinning earth. Barely toasted English muffin...watered down "corned beef hash" that easily could've been acquired at a local 711 topped with a mediocrely poached egg and hollandaise that began to form a wonderful skin on top by the time it made it to the table ...YUM!!! I will say the home fries were solid but potato's are the biggest lay up in food...if you fuck those up...you simply don't belong in the game. Pricing is was what you'd expect...far more than what's it's worth. As I bring this to an end and leave this establishment with a half empty stomach filled with food that could easily match the quality of a local community colleges dining hall. It comes with pride to share that not once will I ever enter this place again. Even starved and on my death bed...air is the better option. Wonderful place, I used to come here for years when it was the corner café up until about two years ago we weren't able to until today. This place has went above and beyond, extremely clean (the other place was not), and very lovely staff. I'm so glad I was able to stop by with my daughter. The only reason I'm giving four stars and not five is because I've only tried it once. When I come back another one or two times I will most likely put it to five stars. My daughter and I shared the special chicken wrap. She loved the chicken so much that I had to order an extra cutlet on the side (pictured). My daughter is 1.5 years old.
