Back at Pete's to take our Uncle who lives in the area and has never been there. It's so funny, because we come here because it was my mother in law's favorite when she was still with us on this earth. It's so funny how come local spot like this can have such a cult following. Uncle Bill devoured his skillet, my pastrami omelette was the size of my head and u could only get through half. The other boys enjoyed their huge breakfasts and we got to introduce our fam to our fam favorite. All around a huge win! Moral of the story, Pete's is a classic and a staple out in Patchogue. Overall an alright dinner for breakfast. Service is fast and on point. I ordered a Ham Steak that was thick and juicy!! The home fries were well-seasoned.. This place was packed by 10 on a Saturday morning. I guess their locals like it. There price is a bit high for a traditional dinner though. Most are around $17. Peter's Luncheonette has been my second home for six years now. As soon as you walk through the door, the caring friendly staff and owners, immediately welcomes everyone by their names and everybody is treated with kindness and respect. You are invited freely to sit at any available table, however, this place is so loved my locals and folks from all over world so it gets packed! The food is out of this world! The Chefs take time and dedication to cooking our foods with special attention to details. You have amazing mouth watering choices from their fancy food board, every single day to the homemade soups , so comforting for the cold weather in our bones. Peters Luncheonette is Great! I love breakfast there. They ve been around a long time.

I'll start by saying this is a diner type of place, just so you know for the type of food. I go here 1-3 times a month mainly for brunch and the food is consistently great. Omelettes, scramblers, Philly cheesesteak, paninis ... I can go on. The waitresses are great, never had a service issue. The thing that I love about Pete's is the food is good, as you'd expect it but the prices are beyond reasonable. You can easily get a nice breakfast or lunch plate, plenty of food for $20 - $15. read more

My two favs on the menu are the French Toast and the Farmhouse burger but change the egg to over-easy (take my word it's amazing lol). The service was good, although we were basically the only people in there for a late lunch. I've passed this place countless times wondering about it. I don't like giving bad reviews and I'm not trying to hurt anyone's business. That said, this place felt like something stuck in the 70's unintentionally and not in a good way, crusty. The utensils had to be the cheapest I've ever seen. On our initial feeling we wanted to get up and leave, but I had already ordered coffee. To put it plainly the food was not good, the kind that gives you indigestion and the coffee was just as bad. We had ordered breakfast basically, I had gotten the HEMAN (eggs, bacon, ham, toast) and we also got another order of eggs and toast. Everything tasted chemically and really off, to add to it my sausage was ice cold (after coming right out). Really concerning since pork is the last thing you want under cooked. To add to it the prices were absurd for what it was and what we experienced, $15-18 for a basic egg breakfast. Everything on the menu was in that range too. Not sure how this place is still here frankly. On top of that they only take cash and had to pay another $3 to get money out of the atm near the door. $40 all and all for a breakfast that shouldn't have been more than $25. So my curiosity certainly killed the cat and put a damper in our day. read more

Classic LI diner, with a mix of old and new style. We got to sit on the counter stools with view of the kitchen & service area. Clean and well organized were clues that it was going to be good. We weren't disappointed! Mushroom special omelette was large portioned and the home fries were excellent. The corned beef hash was one of the best on Long Island! Our first visit to Peter's and we hope to visit again soon! The food was delicious. We started with baked clams and we both enjoyed them! Ok, so it's not what we'd like, as to sit and be served breakfast. So, for Lunch take out, it was to say, Ok. Cuban sandwich and Chicken Francese with french fries, and a separate order of home fries along with ice tea. Hard to eat the Chicken Francese platter in a car. Sauce was gloppy and not with any lemon flavor. The Cuban was said to be, Ok. The fries of course were frozen fried and the home fries were - I wanna say, Ok. The broccoli side had some specks on it (see pix) but did not appear to be pepper and did not come off when scrapped. I didn't eat it. So, all in all, under the circumstances, it was eh, Ok. This is a Patchogue staple. It's as good as it gets. Fast, chaotic but all good. If you get there at the wrong time you will see a line out the door so go before 9:30. The food is made with love as if your grandma was making it. The chocolate egg cream is the best I've ever had. Breakfast is the way to go but I am not a huge breakfast fan so I ordered the steak panini. It could have used more steak but the taste was great.. Imagine my surprise when the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich I ordered turned out to be $13.05! Are you kidding me? It's half the price at any Bagel store or Deli. This used to be a go to place for a reasonably priced meal. I will never frequent this place again. read more

The manager was extremely rude. She told a customer she doesn't "have time" and snatched the money out his hand and slammed the drawer shut. She was constantly cussing and degrading her coworkers calling them stupid. She made a comment to my kids saying control your kids before I do because they almost walked into her. When I spoke to our waitress she apologized for her behavior and said she is always like that they can't do anything because she is the manager. I will never support this place again. I always enjoy going to Peters. Whatever I have to eat I have never been disappointed. This place is always full of people, yet I never feel crowded or uncomfortable. There are always good things on the menu and the portions and the prices don't disappoint. Of course, the tastiness of the food doesn't either. I am always impressed at how well and how hard the waitresses work and I never hear them complain. They actually look like they are having a great time working. I highly recommend this restaurant. Some of the best meals you can find are at small luncheonets like peters. I stopped by because I was passing through the area and ended up having a mountain of delicious food so I won't be making this a long review because now I need a nap! It's a pretty large place for a luncheonette and unlike many of them they don't close at two. They're actually open for dinner as well! My waitress was a wonderful person who seemed to really be enjoying her job, A difficult thing to come by nowadays, as she darted around from customer to customer.I had planned on just getting a standard burger and fries but when I walked in and saw the specials menu which at the top of the list was beef goulash, my eyes got real big and I knew what I was going to be eating. It was A mountain of noodles smothered with a smooth homemade sauce, carrots and enough succulent chuck beef (not ground) that you could've easily made two double hamburgers out of. Oh and did I mention it was absolutely delicious? The special also include an opening act of a cup of soup from which I chose beef vegetable. Deliciously homemade and absolutely packed with wonderfully flavored vegetables in a broth that did not taste like a salt lick. Be sure not to pass by this unassuming little gem. I'll have a cup of that good old strong coffee! Peter has been slinging hash in this location for over 20 years, I've been coming here that long as well too. I absolutely love the local vibe that you get every morning when you come here to eat. Everyone knows your name and you know everyone's too. I lived in this Waterfront town of Patchogue for over 10 years and loved starting my day here. You don't need the newspapers, just listen in, and you'll hear all the local Patchogue news and gossip. The food is absolutely great here, especially the breakfasts. They are the specialty here, always made fresh and hot, prepared to your order. The coffee is incredibly fresh and strong here, gives you that get up and go. The way I love to start my day. Peter's has the feel of that little local upstate or country place that you visit on vacation, but without the long drive. I love going to Peter's whenever I'm in the Patchogue area. Peter's Luncheonette is an old school greasy spoon, sit-at-the-counter diner (or booths, if you prefer). Old timers, locals and regulars hang out, eat, and read the paper. Bill Thieben, of the 1957-58 Detroit Pistons, identified Peter's as the "best food and atmosphere in Patchogue" in his autographed picture, which hangs on the wall. Atmosphere is what you would expect, pastel blue walls (used to be pink) with busy waitresses on coffee detail. . . Food varies with daily specials on the wipe board . . . breakfast of eggs, pancakes, etc. . .check out the eggs benedict. Lunch and dinner entrees of meat loaf, pot roast, moussaka, or chicken & spinach francaise. They have Habanero Tabasco, if you ask. Peter's is cash only, though they have one of those illegitimate ATMs on site. Also features a Hans Gabali mural, just around the corner, on Avery Avenue. read more

I've been coming here since I was in diapers. I always get the eggs Benedict if I'm coming for breakfast and I love their gyro platter (side of tzatziki sauce for fry dipping) the steak panini is awesome too. I also love that they have liver bacon and onions on the menu - I happen to enjoy liver and I can't think of another place that has this. Coleslaw is amazing - I mean I love Pete's, what can I say? - no complaints - cash only btw..but there's an atm if you need. Super fast! Super delicious! Great variety!
