I recently tried BLDs country fried steak... this was a heart breakfast for sure haha it would be a great meal after drinking, I took one bite and my face dropped in shock of how much I loved it... I realized something after the fourth bite, this is way too tender to be steak. It's more of a ground beef texture. Which I guess is pretty common, "beefsteak" is often a ground beef texture from mechanical tenderizing or actually just ground beef that frozen and fried. Either way, it's delicious but I did sort of want that bite you get from a steak. Then again, I devoured this delicious beast way too fast. I'm getting it again, next time with pancakes Since I've gone back, I've realized they really are hit or miss; a miss in particular the other night was an order of fried chicken. It was ordered to come with French onion soup, (this was bland and awful) roasted red potato, (this was regular potato home fries style but mushy and bland) and the chicken itself was overdone and not overly terrible, but not good or great either. Our waitress was hands down the best she was nice, happy, super friendly and on top of things!! I visited this place after dropping my son off at his preschool. The first day of school was only an hour long so I thought this little place right next door would be perfect to go in; After going inside and seeing only one other couple sat down I thought it would be perfect. Well it came down to the wire. It took 20 minutes for my order to get taken, I guess when she came by 60 seconds after the menu was presented to us I should have just been ready. After taking an order, taking another order, dropping off drinks, dropping off more drinks, then we got the check. I ran to the front tried paying with a hundred but said he had to go to the back for change. I said no its okay paid with my credit card instead. (i always like leaving cash tips) I gave this place 4 stars based purely on the food, it was good. It feels unfair to give a bad rating since I was in a rush but it still felt like everything was in slow motion there. The Cinnamon Roll French toast was great, had an authentic Cinnabon flavor with their icing. Came here with a friend and we have become regulars! He always gets the gluten free pancakes and says they are the best he's had. The tuna melt is mind blowing and so buttery. The chicken fried steak is so good and reminds me of growing up in the South. I got the chocolate cake last time and it was a little dry but generous portion and a big scoop of ice cream on the side! After a karate pick up got there at 4 today with my grandson..success they serve breakfast all day!! Our server Brianna was excellent. The place was charming with its Americana decor. I had the Two Grade-A Eggs breakfast with bacon and pancakes. All three were unbelievable, warm, and tasty 'pon its arrival to the table and into my belly. My dad just said, "Freakin' breakfast was awesome, wasn't it?" ...and it's almost 7pm! He's still thinking about it from this morning. Hilarious - but it goes to show the breakfast created a lasting memory for him. Highly recommend a visit here if you're in the area for breakfast. I recommend ordering the BLD passport, which are two crepe-style pancakes, served with two eggs, two strips of bacon and two sausage that you can have german, french, or swedish style. Delicious! The kids really enjoyed their pancakes as well. Great atmosphere, seasonally decorated for the fall right now, and overall good vibes.
