I haven't been here in a while and always like to stop in when i travel to Long Island. I like the renovated look. I got eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. I always ask for the hashbrowns well done because they tend to be undercooked. I ate the potatoes off the top. The staff was really nice and kept refilling my coffee. I miss diners. We don't have anything like this near me.

Ambiance was kind of nice with the subtle Christmas decorations. Our server was quick and a bit hard to understand because he spoke so quickly. However, he was very polite and accommodating to our questions about the menu. The diner was surprisingly packed on a Thursday night, but we were seated 'pon arrival. I note "surprisingly" and you'll see the reason why below with respect to the food I ordered.   I ordered The Greek Chicken Wrap and it was not very appetizing. My side of potato salad tasted like it came from a big bucket that sits in the kitchen for days on end - not very fresh. When I got home, it only took 20 minutes before I had to rush to the bathroom and expel everything I ate. It went right through me - horrible feeling.   This meal was not worth its $17 price tag. Also, the menu did not list that tomatoes were included in the wrap. If I saw there were tomatoes, I would have excluded them when ordering - because sometimes tomatoes are hit or miss and these ones missed for me. My father's meal came with a slice of chocolate cake and it tasted stale and not very moist, too boot. Overall, just not enough tender loving care when it comes to the quality of their food.   I recommend going across the street to The Irish Times Pub - much better option and convenient if you are in the area.

This has always been a reliable choice. Too many diners have some cranky old man at the cash register. Not here. The front people are so bubbly and welcoming. Same with the waitpeople. No request is turned down. I hadn't been here in years and was pleasantly surprised to see the new decor. I keep coming back.

One of the best diner experiences I've had. The decoration is gorgeous and classy, with the vintage diner feel. The service was fast and waitress was super friendly. Menu is huge and varied, but prices are good and it's not overwhelming. I got the brisket melt, the bun was crispy, brisket was tender, and it was charred perfectly. It was a little bland, but I asked for some barbecue sauce. They make all sauces in house, and the barbecue sauce was FABULOUS. The coleslaw was one of the only coleslaws I've ever liked. They have a good variety of desserts I'd like to try, and even the bathrooms are gorgeous. My friend going gluten free pancake, and he said they were the best he's had.

Stopped by this place before meeting a friend and had an amazing experience! The staff was so kind and easy to talk to! The diner itself was amazing, it looked very cool on the inside and outside. It was lovely to see how the workers knew some of the regular customers already. The food that I ordered was very good. I wished to try some of the desserts but I was way too full sadly. I would come back to eat some lunch here again and to try the desserts! My friend really liked the panini and would recommend it. The salmon was full of flavor and I enjoyed the caesar wrap too!

Dead bugs on the half and half containers and the home fries taste like puke. When told management he said don't come back.

That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.

Awesome breakfast!…read more I was hesitant to try this for breakfast but it's attached to the hotel so the convenience was there. It turned out to be a great decision because the breakfast was great! Love that they open super early so if you want to slip down in your pjs I'm sure you could. We went around 7am both days and it was pretty empty. - if you're a guest of Holiday Inn Islip, you can add breakfast (look at menu pricing to see if optimal) - Limited breakfast options but all the favs! - kids eat free - they have sausage patty's! So good! - unlimited coffee in a carafe Everything tasted fresh and made to order plus cheaper than diners! Great deal especially if you're a guest at the hotel. Highly recommend!

We scheduled an appointment to view this restaurant's party room for my daughter's 1st birthday…read moreparty. The woman coordinating through text was very adamant that we arrive exactly at 6:30, repeatedly asked us to confirm, and mentioned we were her last appointment of the evening. I even left work early to accommodate the scheduled time. We arrived at 6:25 and were told it would be "just a minute." By 6:45, nobody had come to help us, update us, or even offer us a seat while we waited. We were left standing awkwardly near the entrance of the restaurant the entire time rather than being invited to sit in the party area we were there to view. The communication beforehand already felt rude and dismissive, so this experience unfortunately confirmed the lack of professionalism and customer service. It was especially disappointing considering we were looking to book a large event and spend a significant amount of money there for a very special occasion.
