I've been going here more and more lately, a buck less than the competition and friendlier to boot; when they're on, they're on; good heros, good coleslaw, decent service... Tj's and My Hero have been feuding in the ranks for all my years growing up in the patchogue area, and I had Tj's up top for years, I'm at my hero 3 times a month minimum now. I barely hit TJs as they always seem to mess up my order and take no responsibility. Skip Quiznos, skip whatever crappy deli you've found in the area, My Hero wins! A few of my favorite sandwiches that keep me coming back despite Seaqua opening up on the other side of town are: The "Grand Slam" - I add chicken cutlet to this already meaty sandwich with prosciutto, salami, cappy ham, provolone, lettuce and tomato topped with oil and vinegar. & The "Heaton Heater" (this needs texture so I add onion and/or tomato) with everroast chicken, BBQ & hot sauce, Monterey Jack cheese on a toasted garlic hero. You can't go wrong with the "Scooter" (another big fave) or the "Subway Series" - sort of interchangeable subs, one with pastrami and coleslaw, the other with corned beef n' Kraut Both delicious. There are a few good ones I haven't mentioned so explore the menu yourselves soon! In my opinion you should skip the place next door, this sandwich shop is ten times more satisfying and will save you from the doldrums of lackluster pizza, they'll have ya saying my hero for sure! Try the breakfast sandwiches as well, they rock and are made til pretty late in the day.

Jeter Fajita- Turkey, Monterey Jack Cheese, Sautéed Onions, Tomatoes, and Mayo.

Have you ever been in one of those moods where a burger won't get the job done? Or pizza is not going to cut it? I was in that mood today and needed the only thing on Earth that would satisfy me........a sandwich! A hero to be precise. After checking many Yelp reviews on sandwich shops I decided on "My Hero." It had a lot of positive reviews and TJ's has been done by me enough. I pulled up right to the front and walked in. A good sign was they were playing Captain America on the TV, so to me they make good choices. Looking around I noticed the place was small, also they had for round tables with plastic black chairs. But I'm not here to look at all the Yankee memorabilia (someone is a fan) I came in for a sandwich! My pick was the Jeter Fajita, and I feel it was a wise choice. At $9.01 it was a handful with soft hero bread. They put the right amount of everything on it. They heated it up and used Boar's Head meats. This place is worthy of the title "Hero Shop." Next time I come I hope they play "Ant-Man."

My Hero's Cuban sandwich is quite delicious for the money. That is why I giving them three and a half stars.

This place is the best spot in patchogue for deli sandwiches. The Bronx bomber is incredible and the staff here is top notch.

Ask the Community - My Hero

Has anyone had catering from here? I am interested in wraps and salads for a baby shower in someone's home

Wild shot here but they are the nicest family and if you called them you could ask them. Rather then let the public direct you here. I would imagine they do cater as they have been there for 30 years.

George's is rarity these days; an old school luncheonette. So if you like infused water, ancient…read moregrains, avocado whatever and the like, stop reading and head down the street to the endless myriad of other places. But, if you like delicious simple American food at reasonable prices. This is the place for you. Really. Ambiance is simple old school luncheonette. Like out of Life Magazine. And it's spotless and perfect. Service is spot on with a touch of sarcasm, like it should be when everyone seems to know everyone here. Great diner style coffee and super fresh and tasty juices will come out quick and so will your food. Except the home made corned beef hash. You'll wait a few minutes, and just a few extra minutes for that. Because they basically make from scratch on the spot. At least that's what it tastes like. So good So, corned beef hash and eggs is my go to, and it's my nirvana of meals too, but hey I'm a simple fat guy. And it's off the hook Nothing on Long Island comes close. So if you want a real breakfast, make it a point to come here. Today. Don't be like me. I should have started coming here 10 years ago. I didn't and I regret it. Don't waste a decade of your life on lousy breakfasts. No one needs that tribulation. Go today! Tomorrow is never promised and if it doesn't come, be rest assured you just had the best last meal of your life!
