Really loved this dinner and love dinner's in general and haven't did the dinner thing in a long time. Met up with my wife's sister's to grab some Lunch and this dinner was great. Food and service was solid and would come here anytime. When I do dinner food I keep it simple, it's either chicken finger and French fries or a burger but I decided to go with chicken with and disco fries. French fries with melted Mozzarella and gravy and they were good. This dinner had a great variety of food options and the food was amazing. I will definitely be back to try different options but overall the food and service was great. 10/10 read more

There is NOTHING like a NY diner! This one was relatively close to my hotel and I dined along here on my first night since no one else had arrived yet. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff. I was seating immediately at a small booth and asked about my drink order. Nice to be back in NY and being able to order seltzer (not soda water!). My Tuscan chicken panini was enormous and delicious. It came with a choice of cup of soup served ahead and double crispy French fries with my sandwich. I chose the cream of turkey soup. It was creamy with large chunks of fresh turkey throughout the cup of soup. The panini was served with a balsamic glaze that was perfect for the sandwich and dipping my fries. I had half a sandwich left for another meal. I observed everyone welcomed in the same way during my meal and obviously many regulars who dine here often. I complimented the staff as I paid at the counter, this was a great reminder of how I grew up on Long Island and the friendliness of New Yorkers. Love the hospitality and atmosphere that this diner has created and has been doing for a long time. I enjoyed it so much, I brought my whole family back for dinner the next evening! read more

We came here on a Sunday for brunch and, as expected, it was packed but surprisingly we were seated within five minutes. Even with how busy it was, the service was great. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and really on top of things. I ordered from their specials menu, and we both went for skillet dishes. They actually ran out of skillets, but they apologized right away, honestly not a big deal. I got the Autumn Skillet, and I truly think it deserves a permanent spot on their regular menu. It came with eggs your way, sweet potatoes, squash, apples, avocado, spinach, caramelized onions, and feta. The flavors were incredible, and everything worked so well together. I'd go back just for that dish alone, it was seriously delicious. My husband ordered the Veggie Skillet and said it was great as well. The coffee was good, the food was fresh and flavorful, and prices were very reasonable. Overall, this was our first time here and we were genuinely impressed. Great food, great service, great value. As diners are dipping out of Long Island.. only the swiftest are left and they are usually super diners.. as is this. So everything is good here.... Staff is never surly or angry... Diner is roomy enough to enjoy even if a busy night.. which it always seems to be. Nice booths, tables, windows... can enjoy dinner here as easily as lunch or breakfast. Food is Always fresh. Service is usually super, though tonight my waiter hid out in the kitchen for his next order.. while I waited too long for a check. To pay they have one register.. usually ok but tonight behind a large party all splitting a check that had me in the waiting area after dinner long enough to start making friends and chatting with others standing there also.. Horrible place to eat. I ordered the Porterhouse steak. I took one bite. Worse steak I've ever had. The owner or whomever he was came over to me. Spiro was questioning my experience with Steaks. I've never dealt with such a low class person. He charged me full price. My daughter was in tears. Last time l had old dried up turkey. I didn't say anything. And paid for that. I'm tired of paying for sub par food. He's the only diner out there. That's the only reason why he's in business. I'II take my business elsewhere. I visited this Diner numerous times over the years. They have very solid food and really good service. When I've gone in the past, it's always been for breakfast on the weekends. Unless you get there super early, it's always very crowded. They do an excellent job at getting you seated quickly though. It's your standard Diner fare, but I've always been very satisfied with whatever I ordered. I hope they remain consistent because I enjoy patronizing local businesses. read more

He was annoyed every time we asked for something and he cursed at us under his breath while he walked away . Then he gave us a dirty cup of noodles and had the nerve to charge for it . My wife and I took off on Monday, we had our sons wedding over the weekend and needed a day to catch up. I saw on the news another Long Island diner closed so I decided to hit up Moriches Bay Diner. This area on Montauk highway is a little slice of nostalgic heaven. The Moriches Bay diner has the look and feel of what us Long Islanders love, a friendly waitress serving up great comfort food. To the right there is counter seating available along with a few booths, to the left is the main dining room with tables and more booths. I ask for two cups of coffee. There's nothing fancy about diner coffee, the wait staff is walking around with two glass pots, one filled with decaf and the other strong like bull black coffee. I ask about the corned beef hash, is it made fresh? Not today I'm told, it's from the can. Not a problem, challah French Toast with fat sausage links please. My food comes out quickly. Our waitress drops off a dish of small butter packets along with a bunch of syrup packets. Nothing fancy here, this is a typical breakfast being served at every Long Island diner. This is the kind of eatery you go out of your way to visit. Way out of your way. We were visiting Long Island and had the serendipity to meet one of the owners, Kay, and to learn about Moriches Bay Diner. We promised to try it--and oh how glad we were that we did--even traveling the half hour to get there. We feasted, and I mean feasted, on stuffed mushrooms, creamy crab stuffing with a delicious sauce stuffed in giant buttons. Then a Greek salad loaded with the best feta we have ever had (the owners are Greek) with a red wine/feta dressing, again awesome. Then we had the delicious onion soup, served traditionally in a crock with lots of melty cheese. Our main meal was burgers--mine was lamb, with the wonderful feta salad topping, and French fries, which I requested as non-gluten so got them fried in Olive oil (yay!). The lamb burger was recommended by a long-time patron ("We've been here hundreds of times. Have the lamb burger.") Hubby's burger was the Jack Daniel's beef--he's a cattle rancher and approved the quality of the beef. His fries were in the regular frying oil, which I suspect is soy--but wonderful to have the Olive oil option. We splurged for take home baklava--and here especially is where I will tell you drive the distance! Wowie kazowie. Made at Moriches Bay, Nick the baker has definitely created the most delicious baklava we have ever tasted--and believe me, we have tasted quite a few. This one is masterfully made with walnuts, and just the right honey quantity to make it memorable without over sweetening. But it is sweet in every way. Portions are generous, the food is high quality, the menu is vast, and the atmosphere is buzzing and busy. Kay and Manager Phil were extremely engaged with their patrons. Smiles and greetings, and a true hospitable, caring attitude. Our server, Aly (Alexandria) was very kind, very competent, and very busy. But we lacked for nothing. This will definitely be on our list of places we must return to. Bravo Kay and Spiro, for maintaining what we imagine your parents, George and Christina had in mind when they opened this elegant diner-restaurant decades ago. You deserve awards! P.S. I suspect a couple of reviews during Covid, stating a lack of taste, may have been due to losing their taste buds with the virus. There was no lack of taste here, and I can't imagine how hard restaurants had to work to keep afloat, especially in New York, during the pandemic--which is still affecting restauranteurs. Like Kay mentioned that they employ 60 people but are down to 40. If you're good at restaurant work, apply! This place would make you proud to be on their team. read more

Food came in such a large serving perfect for sharing and it's extremely filling. it was 32$ total (disregarding tip). Serviced was attentive, quick and speedy. Servers/ associates of the restaurant came around in timely intervals to check up on you. The ambience made it feel like you were back in time, reversed 1950's esq especially with the older demographic of the restaurant! The only thing I would say was the pasta was soooooo saucy like so drowned in sauce !!! That's why it's a 4/5 Moriches diner has such a large selection in there menu for a picky eater or someone indecisive it was a bit overwhelming. It can do better by just cutting the menu a lot smaller down to 1- 2 pages instead of 10 because how could the chefs possible know how to make all of those dishes?! I was extremely untrusting but very pleased at what I ordered. Though I would stay questioning ethnic dishes and ambitious menu items as it is a diner in center moriches, Long Island. My waitress was great I ordered a quesadilla didn't know it had A ton of large onions peppers and tomatoes. I had just wanted cheese and well done chicken. I asked if I could have it redone. Someone with short hair kind of stockyish woman came over arrogantly We should learn to read the menu that it's not their responsibility the menu says onion peppers and tomatoes. OK then but she continued on and Set it 3 times with a look in my face. Okay then you're in this business learn how to speak to people. We asked for 2 of us to split the bill there was no line there was nobody we gave him 2 cards he had an attitude too. I don't think I'll be going back to this diner ever again.
