Bon G and I finally made it to Sunsets at Senix after friends mentioned they liked it. Well, This venue is kinda off the beaten path...about a mile south on Senix off of Montauk Hwy...you see large boats on mounts for the winter cause during the summer this marina is Busy and so is the restaurant. It was a rainy Tuesday circa 6pm when we meandered in. Place was relatively empty so we snagged a table on the South side where if it was sunny you could catch a fantastic sunset. Anywho...we were welcomed by a vivacious young server named Jacy, who it turns out was a pleasure to deal with. We started with cocktails, mine Bourbon Old Fashioned and Bon a Coconut Margarita....both happy hour prices and delish! Their menu has so many things its hard to choose. But, we chose their Chicken Wings 2 2way and they were Delish...Meaty and Perfecto! We also had a dozen local oysters...sweet and delish also...a good start! We met Barbara, the bartender who helped us decide on our drinks. Very helpful and a delight to work with. By now, we were getting full but we went for two mains; Bon had fish & chips and I found something special on the menu...Pork Belly, Scallops on top of cheese grits was incredible def worth getting again! Well...how bout dessert!! We went with the special; Poached Pears in red wine with marscapone cheese..was the perfect finish to a great meal. This is my new favorite venue in Center Morices. Fantastic!!! We went for Mother's Day and had the prefix menu, what a great choice. For apps we had the Calamari, Tiger Shrimp and Octopus Salad, we all enjoyed everything! The octopus was perfectly cooked, Calamari was shareable and the shrimp was insane! For dinner we had the Pork Chop, Stuffed Flounder and Lobster Thermador, everything was impressive. The lobster was perfectly cooked with a fantastic flavor, the flounder was so filling we couldn't finish it but it was definitely fresh seafood. The Pork Chop was surprising to me. I didn't expect to enjoy the mofungo and beans as much as I did. We finished with both the Lava cake and Apple Pie wonton. I will be thinking about that wonton for days! I highly recommend this restaurant, we will definitely be back! read more

Sorry, very disappointed. The food is very salty, and pricey for the portions. Had to wait over 20 minutes for order to be taken. Subpar service. $32.00 for a piece of bland, roasted chicken with 3 tiny slivers of zucchini underneath. There were about 4-5 small pieces of lobster in the lobster roll with maybe a handful of fries. The mixed drinks, well, no comment. Can smell the cigarette smoke from people smoking right outside of the fenced in patio. The bathroom decor is beautiful! Will not be going back. read more

Went for lunch. This is the first time we have been here since it's reopened. It's beautiful inside. The perfect temp on a hot day. We sat on the patio. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered an app (chicken wings) and 2 items off the lunch menu (fish sandwich and chicken tacos) all was perfect and delicious and the perfect portion size for lunch. We were invited to drive out to this venue for a GTG with friends. Ordered a chicken breast, which was very thick, juicy and perfectly cooked. Also ordered a smash burger and fries. The burger was very good and the fries were ok. Prior to eating, we had a couple of cocktails. The outside bar only had 2 bartenders, one of which was working like crazy and the other seemed to disappear and when she was there, was very slow. It took 14 minutes to get 3 drinks (margarita, bottle beer & seltzer with lime). Ambience was ok, although you would never know that there was water there. We will return next time there is a good band there. read more

I'm going to be fair and balanced. This was our third time eating here and fifth overall visit. We came in last night with a table of 4 for dinner and to see the band. The interior is beautiful, spotless and was dressed for St Pat's. The staff was attentive and friendly and the bad was excellent. Dinner choices were the Roasted Chicken, Smash Burger, Sunset Burger and Fish and Chips. Food was delicious and well prepared. If I stopped here we would be at 4 stars but it's time for the other side of the story..... The drinks are very light pours for the prices which make it difficult. Burger prices are also a little high considering the portion but you can understand the economics which are pushing food prices up everywhere but not the alcohol. Profit on wholesale spirts is still significant enough to provide a proper mixed cocktail or a decent whisky pour. Same drink at Buckley's is twice the volume for a lower price. We will try again during summer happy hour considering the beautiful outside bar and desire to help a local business succeed but highly recommend ownership reconsider drink price points and ratios. My sunset has set on Sunsets At Senix. We waited 20 minutes before our Waitress came to the table. Waited another 10 minutes after having asked for water. Flat Coke and worse Flat Beer. The Manager had to approve rejected the beer and a Bloody Mary that looked like water. Don't do the Caesar Salad. It was chopped salad fitting in the cup of a soup bowl. Dressing was store bought. Left a not very good review about Senix about a year ago because our experience was just not good...well, what a change...we have come a few times and each time it's a little better - better food and service and today was such a nice time at the outside bar with Barbara! Loved this place! The new owners of this space considered every detail of the ambience. Get the duck! It was amazing- best I have ever had. It's served with this sweet potato casserole that was incredible. Real comfort food. We also had the Brussel Sprouts which were to die for. The hubby got the smash burger which he loved. This review is based on nothing but lack of service. We went on a Wednesday night and while I understand they just opened, the service was not bad, it wasn't there. I was seated and then no server came to the table after 25 minutes. I asked a server if she was ours and she said she could be. Which leads me to believe no one was assigned to my table. I then waited another 5 minutes and no one came so I lodged my displeasure with a manager who apologized and said she would make it up to us but at that point, I wasn't sold on getting quick service so I went somewhere else. Just had our daughter's baptism luncheon here and everything was perfect! We had about 45 guests and We set everything up with owner Joe in advance and it went off without a hitch. We opted for the handhelds buffet option and there was plenty of food - all of our guests said how delicious it was! We were off in a separate room overlooking the marina and our guests were able to go outside too to enjoy the views. We've been here for lunch and dinner but we will def be booking future events here! The staff was super attentive and I'm so happy we had our daughter's special event here! read more

My wife and I always look for a local restaurant that we can walk to and have a cocktail and a descent meal. Tonight we chose Sunsets at Senix which we have been to on several occasions since they opened. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the summer breeze and atmosphere, but the tables were dirty and all the umbrellas were closed making it unbearably hot so we moved inside where we sat for 15 minutes without service. The restaurant manager finally walked by and asked if we wanted a server (duh, isn't that why you go to a restaurant). The server came by the table and provided water but never took food or cocktail orders. Finally, when I poked my head into the restaurant (we were sitting outside the main restaurant area), the owner, Joe, acknowledge that we needed service. The server was nowhere to be found so the bartender came to our table and took our order (the server showed up while we were giving our order and was quickly dismissed). The cocktails eventually showed up. My wife's was fine. I order a martini which consisted of less than a half glass (turned out to be three sips). When I questioned this, the bartender offered to make it a double (sure, rip me off twice). The food was okay - two smash burgers. Really couldn't screw that up. When we got the bill, there was an extra $3 charge for the martini. When we questioned what that was for, the server and manager had the same answer - "there is an extra $3 charge to make it a martini" What??? Neither could explain what that meant. We paid the bill without tip (we didn't receive anything close to restaurant service). Upon leaving, the owner, Joe, walked out of the restaurant as we were walking away and yelled to us "that he would take care of the tip". What a set of balls on this guy! If he put any effort into training his staff, the service might be adequate. My wife was kind in telling Joe that the service was "pretty bad". Joe commented that it seems that every time we go there, "the service is pretty bad". Almost true (our previous meal was good). Maybe (Joe) you should put a little more effort into managing the restaurant and staff. That way more than three tables will have people wanting to eat at your restaurant! Definitely not going back! This place is awesome. We had been to the old restaurant which had a great location. but this place is so much better. We met the new owner and were very impressed with his approach and vision for the restaurant. The oysters were phenomenal. Perfectly small and flavorful. The service between the bar and restaurant was good. What they lack in experience, they make up for in enthusiasm and a desire to get better. The service industry is challenged right now and it has to be extremely hard for new restaurants to staff up and train. And then there was the SUNSET! This is the perfect place to enjoy an east end sunset. It ain't the Hamptons...and that's a good thing! read more

The bartender totally forgot to put our food order in and didn't come back over to see if we needed anything. finally we had to flag her down after 45 mins and she told us she forgot to Put our order in . We waited another 25 mins to finally get the smash burgers which were sooooo salty. My husband had Ordered a glass of wine that the bartender recommended which was nothing special and when we saw the bill we were shocked it was 18.00 for a glass!! We were there for happy hour so i Not sure why she would recommend this wine which btw is 25.00 by bottle. The service was aweful the food was ridiculously salty and wine was way over priced . Place is great as far as location and the waiters/waitresses are great. However if you want to get a drink at the bar be prepared to wait for an extended period of time. The bartenders are very good at being behind the bar but not acknowledging that you are there. Awesome place and the food is very good but way way understaffed. I want to give it a good rating in the worst way as I live locally and really wish it well but week after week I come hoping that the service will improve at the bar but always come away disappointed. went last night with 2 others for the first time, have to say how dissappointed we were with everything.. we ordered appetizers and had to wait 45 min for them with the waitress no where to be found. literally 2 minutes after the appetizers came out, our meals came out which is just a turn off in dining out.. we asked if we could please just have our meals after we eat the appetizer so we weren't bombarded. She then came back after 20 minutes with her meals which were under the heater. The meals were so dried out and on animal because they must've been under the heaters... I ordered a chicken sandwich and the bun was completely rockhard, and my spouse ordered a grits meal and the grits were solidified. We spoked to the manager who made us new meals , so we had to wait another half hour for. It really was not a pleasant dining experience and the food was mediocre at best.
