We came here before a show at the Suffolk Theater and sat at the bar. The views of this place are beautiful and it was a perfect breezy day with lots of boats on the water. It was early on a Saturday, 5:30 because we wanted to hang out for a while before the show, so there weren't many people there at that time. That quickly changed a little less than an hour later, and all of the tables on the patio were full. They also had a big crowd for karaoke. They had a lot of regulars who show up and sing and it was a lot of fun. The entire atmosphere was energetic and everyone was having a great time. The food at the bar was good, but could really have been better. The tacos were good, but my friend and I had the fluke fish and chips, but it tasted more like cod. Maybe because of the breading? The drinks were also okay, the margarita's could have been stronger and tasted mostly like juice. We switched to white wine, and that was pretty good. When I go to a place that makes drinks that don't have much alcohol, I always switch to wine. At least you know what you're getting and every glass is the same! All in all, it was a nice experience and we would go back. read more

There are other fish in the sea, skip your time with this one. One pro here, is the view is beautiful - marina views, decent amount of seat-yourself seating- live band. Came for drinks and an appetizer- all were blah. The peach Long Island tasted and acted like it did not have a drop of alcohol in it, especially for a drink with 4 alcohols you should be able to taste a hint of something ... also, the white merlot was just okay - not sure if it was because it was served warm in a plastic cup? Lastly, the "spicy" Jamaican steak bites were so bland, not a hint of spice on them. To top it off, wait staff is not very attentive and only come around once in awhile. I got salad which seems to be all romaine with a piece of sliced strawberry, 2 cherry tomatoes sliced and 2 pieces of sliced cucumber. I have an issue with restaurants charging credit card fees as this is the cost of doing business. While I am now used to it, this establishment charges twice what they should. When i asked the percent they charge, the waitress said the manager said it is 3%. Our bill was $53:88. wWe were charged as additional $2.50. Any one who can do math knows this is more than 3%. While most people will say it is only a couple of dollars, think of every customer they are cheating. Nobody carries cash anymore, as a matter fact the fee was there before we got the bill, so we could have been paying with cash. Disappointed in the deceitful up-charge which was well over the percentage the credit company charges them. read more

Ok. We didn't eat here so this review is weird. Most of my family is gluten free due to Celiac (not a preference). Asked if they had a gluten free menu and they said we could have a salad but nothing else is guaranteed to be gluten free. My test for a restaurant these days is how they handle that question. Was at the aquarium on a Wednesday and wandered into this Small bar with a nice happy hour, good food and very good service.... When you exit the aquarium through the gift shop you end up in this cute little outdoor bar which is also connected to the a hotel. The buffalo wings were delicious...fried hard and seasoned well. We had a great lunch here with our 4 and 6 year old children. The staff went above and beyond for our son, who has multiple food allergies. The chef went through the whole menu to let us know what would be safe for him. It was our first time out with our kids in over a year and we had a great time. After an extended weekend visiting some friends out East, we decided to try out the newest restaurant/bar to the area: Seaside Grill for Happy Hour (the Bar is located behind the new Hyatt Place Hotel). Our group started off sharing two appetizers: Chips and Guacamole, the chips are baked in house and the guacamole was big enough for our group of 3 to share and was mixed with chopped tomatoes. Guacamole made fresh to order is a no brainer. We also tried the Watermelon Arugula Salad which was dressed with balsamic glaze, BIG moist chunks of seedless watermelon balanced well with the saltiness of the feta. Both appetizers were fresh, delicious and the right amount of food to share. After some cocktails (which they have an assortment of the summer classics: daiquiris, margaritas, mai tai's, smoothies, pina coladas, as well as beers & wines from the local vineyards, and the specialty drink- the jimmy special (mixed drink with malibu coconut rum and fruit, very refreshing), and a few hours chatting with more friends who stopped by to grab drinks, we were a little hungrier. We decided on 2 orders of the Crab Cakes w/ Corn & Mango salsa which the bartender recommended. The crab cakes were cooked perfectly, moist and tender with a very generous amount of crab meat!. The mango corn salsa made it the perfect appetizer to share poolside on a summer day. All in all, pleasant atmosphere with a tiki-bar vibe next to the pool, friendly and attentive service, great selection of food and drinks to choose from which were all very good, and everything on the menu is reasonably priced!! Came here with a Groupon & had a great experience! With the Groupon we could each choose a sandwich, wrap or burger & either a glass of wine, sangria or a draft beer. We were both in the mood for a burger & our waitress Karoline suggested the Steakhouse burger with blue cheese, fried onions & a red wine demi-glace SOLD ! The burgers were excellent. Perfectly cooked & super juicy. The sweet potato fries weren't the best I've had & they didn't come with a dipping sauce like they do at other places, No biggie though. They had a few local beers on tap, Long Ireland, Crooked Ladder & Greenport. We went with the Long Ireland Celtic Ale. We were given complimentary chips before our meal & they were really good with our ice cold beer. The outdoor dining area is a bit small. Probably around 8-10 tables with umbrellas & there is also seating for about 10-12 at the bar area. The space is located right next to the pool area at the Hyatt Hotel with water views of the marina. Although we were here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the pool area wasn't very busy but I can see if there were a lot of children in the pool it could become a bit loud since the dining area & pool are right next to one another. My family and I are checking out restaurants in the area since we recently moved here. We found Seaside Grill on Groupon and decided to check them out. Just a heads up - there is no indoor seating! It is all on a patio, with a bar. We didn't expect that, but it was ok. Fortunately, it was a nice night to be outside! They were very busy AND one of their servers decided to go home early, so it was a struggle. However, the waitress AND manager regularly checked in with us and tried to make sure we were accommodated. They sincerely apologized for the wait. The food finally came. It likely would have been better, but I think there was just a combination of challenges for them that night. When it was all done, the waitress offered free dessert as an apology. We thanked her and declined. When she brought the bill, we realized the manager took off the Groupon amount ($20) AND reimbursed the cost of the Groupon ($20). The manager stopped us as we were leaving, and offered apologies again. She explained some of the roadblocks they were dealing with that night and assured me it was not the norm. She encouraged us to come back and try them again. She thanked us for giving them a try. She knows this is a service business, and understands how to provide it. Despite the rough experience, they made every effort to go above and beyond in order to make up for it, and we will gladly be back to try them again! We went for lunch at 1:10 on a Friday. The waiter came over and brought us our drinks in a very short amount of time, along with a basket of homemade potato chips. However, from the time the waiter took our order until we got our food, it was FORTY FIVE minutes. I ordered two appetizers for lunch: The Potstickers (which were good), and the Thai Noodle Salad (terribly bland; there wasn't enough salt at the table to bring taste into that dish). We asked the waiter WHY it took so long to get our order and he explained that it was a logistic nightmare; the kitchen is on the THIRD floor and they have to deal with elevators to get the food outside and up a set of stairs to the deck where the restaurant is. The architect should be shot... Nice place for a drink, but don't eat there. read more

This place has a really nice setup outside looking on the water, pool is right next to seating which is fine with me but may bother others? Ordered Loaded Waffle fries for an appetizer, they sounded very good. Placed our drink order, they have surprisingly few beers, but Stella certainly works for me. Placed our orders for burgers. House made chips come out, their version of bread I guess? They were ok. Extremely plain but not bad. Loaded waffle fries never come. We don't see the waitress for probably 20-30 minutes in the middle of the visit. Bus boy or bartender not sure brings us our food, which is fine, not a big deal who delivers it. Both burgers were ordered medium rare, both came very well done, mine burnt slightly on the outside. I got the Cobb burger and it didn't have one of the sauces on it, made the overcooked burger even blander with no sauce. Blue cheese was meh bacon was over cooked. Wife got the brisket burger which was a little better but still extremely overcooked. By the time the waitress had returned we gave up and ate what we could. No sense in sending back at that point. Yes I'm sure we could have flagged another staff member down or taken food to the bar but that's not our style. Not that we could have gotten dessert at this point but the waitress didn't even offer. She was very pleasant but not present at all during the 90 minute meal. Fries were ok and drinks were nice and cold. That plus the view and nice set up bump the abysmal food and service up to 2 stars. Doubtful I'd go back, place needs a lot of work service and food wise. read more

I spent 2 days at the Hyatt where the seaside grill is located in the back of.(beautiful view from my room). First evening me and my friend sat by the bar had some dinner and played friends trivia hosted by Erin. Had a great time, all the staff (Erin, & Dan) were very friendly and the environment was nice! We had such a good time we decided to go the next evening where they had a great band playing. Perfect place to sit by the water have a few drinks some food and great entertainment. I wish I could write a good review about this place. The Seaside Grill overlooks the water, and is right next to the Hyatt pool. The outdoor seating is great, and their menu looked appealing. Why do I say the menu LOOKED appealing? That is because we were never given an opportunity to order any food. When we arrived at the seaside grill we asked one of the servers if we could just sit anywhere. he told us we could - we went to sit at a table and were told by another server that that table was set aside for someone else, and they would be back in a minute...okay, no problem. We waited a few minutes by the entrance until we were told that that party must not be returning so we could sit there (thanks..) As we sat down, our drink orders were taken right away - I ordred a mimosa (happy hour special) my boyfriend told the server that he would decide in a few minutes. my mimosa was brought to me right away...and thats the last time a server ever came back to our table. We had decided what we wanted to eat and everything. Another group came and was seated at the table next to us...they ordered their drinks, then they ordered their food, then they were served their food...all while we just sat there waiting. After we had enough i walked over to the bar to pay for my one mimosa. I told them that I would just like to pay and we are heading out. The response I got back was "oh, you decided not to get any lunch?" I explained how we had been waiting there for 45 minutes with no one coming over to take our order. She apologized again and again and told us there was confusion - she had thought a different server took our order. But after that we just had a sour feeling about this place. It's a shame because I was looking forward to trying their fish tacos and it was great being outside listening to their live music play! read more

The staff are very polite and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The food is just the icing on the cake. It contained cream, and the ingredient was not mentioned on the menu. 2 in our party can not eat dairy. When the dish came, we alerted the waitress and the waitress had the item remade. When the check came they charged us twice for the dish even though we sent the first one back. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Carolyn was so nasty. She argued with us about the ingredients in the dish. She was uninformed and insensitive about allergies. She had a bad attitude and told us that they can not put all the ingredients on the menu. She acted as if it was our fault we had food sensitivities at our table. It's a shame. If not for Carolyn, I would recommend the restaurant to anyone in the area. read more

After a long day of shopping at the outlets this was the perfect place to come and have lunch! It's right by the water and set up outside so the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. I loved how attentive and friendly all of the staff was. My waitress Leah made sure that I had nothing short of a great experience and I was pleased to meet the manager Karalyn who made sure to introduce herself and confirm that everyone was well taken care of. As far as the food it was delicious! My boyfriend and I ordered the spring roll appetizers which came out perfect. I had the fish tacos myself and I would most definitely order them again. The prices were reasonable as well. I most definitely had a great experience both with the food and the staff and will becoming back plenty of times before the end of the season. read more
