After visiting the not-open Little Gull Cafe, and two Guatemalan delis that we didn't realize were Guatemalan delis, we decided to try the Triangle Pub. A most excellent decision!! We walked into the bar area, which was filled with happy, convivial people, and smelt strongly of beer. Oops. I saw "The Look" on my mother's face. But I found the hostess, and we were seated in a lovely, quiet dining area, which did not smell of beer at all. Our server, a cheerful and friendly young woman (I forgot her name, alas), bustled over and took our orders. I ordered a gluten-free bun (yay!), and she asked whether I could have fries that were cooked in a fryer where wheat was fried. I can, but that was surprisingly thoughtful! She has a friend with celiac disease. The food was WONDERFUL!! The Mommy had a Caesar salad with salmon. The piece of salmon was huge and perfectly cooked, exactly the way she likes it! My turkey burger was delicious. Not dry. So yummy. The fries were crispy! We were delighted to have tried this place, and I cannot wait to return! Also, I left the lights on in the Audi, and they made an announcement. This was awesome, as I did not want to call my brother for a jump AGAIN. He lectures me. Ugh. read more

It was a corn, beef and cabbage kind of day since it's not always on the menu and it did not disappoint! We could barely eat half of what was on our plate and the rest was just as fresh and tender the next day for lunch. Our waitress was very friendly. We traveled about 45 minutes to go to the Triangle Pub to have a burger with fries that supposedly gets rave reviews. We sat at the bar. Very friendly patrons who seemed to know each other and knew the bartender by name: Carrie. Carrie was very busy so getting her to take our order took about 10 minutes. Ordered a large burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato to be cooked medium. Burger was just ok. Cooked well done and I wasn't wowed. The Stellar Artois was on tap, cold but seemed a little flat. The regulars at the bar were great with conversations and was fun to meet new people. read more

George motz, the foremost burger expert and owner of hamburger America in nyc recommended this place as a replacement for my beloved good steer restaurant that closed down after Covid. Because of his recommendation I wanted to try this out. Unfortunately it doesn't taste anything like I expected. The burger was juicy, tender but utterly tasteless. The fries weren't great either. The price is pretty good though, at $9 for a burger and fries. The waitress kept messing up our bill. I gave $12 in cash but she still billed the full amount to my friends card. Then when we spoke to her about the mistake, she said she voided the old payment but then billed him $20 extra. Wild. My friend will have to call his bank to make sure it all was voided. This experience makes me not want to go back even more especially considering the food wasn't impressive. read more

Ok local pub serving average Pub food...nothing special! Guinness served properly was excellent. French onion soup looked better than it tasted once you get past the nice cheese topping. We shared an order of wings which was good. The mains were meh! Fried flounder sandwich had a thin piece of overdone fish on a bun...My 12 oz burger with Bleu cheese had grayish color meat with fillers which fell apart as eaten. We had dinner at the Triangle tonight after having not been there in a few years. Standard bar fare which was very tasty, especially the burgers. Five stars for the food as well as the service, which was top shelf. I give it one star less than five as I found out after the fact that a 20 percent gratuity was automatically added for a party over five, we were six. I ultimately left our server more than that as she provided exceptional service, but I feel that a gratuity should be based upon service, not what a restaurant owner feels he needs to add to compensate his help. I get the fact that everything in business lately costs more than it did in the past to stay solvent but, having worked in the service industry for over twenty years, a TIP is just that, a TIP. A reward for those who provide exceptional service, not a means of paying a restaurant worker's salary. If a restaurant owner feels, he needs to provide additional money to pay his staff, he should just increase his prices. Anything less is just tacky. I know this has become the norm since COVID, but if it doesn't change, there will be fewer and fewer customers coming out to eat in any given establishment. Just my thoughts. read more

Hey hey! This was our first time at the Triangle Pub, been dying to try it! So we did. Triangle pub is a small old time pub located on a small triangle piece of land in Eastport, NY. Nicole our server took awesome care of us. She is very happy and loved her job. She gave us all her recommendations and couldn't talk high enough about them. For starters we had the generous fried artichoke hearts which came with 2 sauce dipping. One was a horseradish sauce and the other a garlic alioli sauce. Yum. For dinner we ordered a 6oz Triangle burger ($12) and for $3 additional, I got the 12oz burger ($15). The burgers were covered with fried onions, cheddar cheese, mushrooms and bacon. We recently moved to Eastport part time and found this little restaurant bar.. not only the biggest portions and great service, but the prices haven't been changed in a very, very long time, food was great. Dinner on. Thursday around 5pm. Appetizer was muscles in red sauce. There were more than enough for two. Very fresh and delicious. Bread that came with ithem was rather plain. A bit of Italian bread would have put them over the top delicious. Two burgers one with fries one with baked potato. Both were prepared as ordered. Unfortunately, the rolls fell apart as we ate. Finished them with a knife and fork Baked potato, although a bit on the small side was good. Bar is a bit on the noisy side and unfortunately that carry's over to the dining room. Service was very attentive and polite. But what really added to our experience was the young lady who was busing the tables. I wish I could recall her name. She was 18-19 years old. In the hour or so we were there she never stopped working. Clearing dishes, cleaning tables, chairs and the floor. We spoke briefly with her and were told of her dream to become a chef and one day own a restaurant. She had such a positive attitide and strong work ethic, I have no doubt she will be an asset to a restaurant and one day live her dream. Dining room was less than 1/2 full, only 3 other tables in use when I Ieft. Just wildly inconsistent. These are up to $11 plus add-ons plus the credit card upcharge now imposed, so no longer a "bargain" and should be prepared reasonably as ordered. I really do hate to give low scores, however maybe it can be used as constructive criticism and the appropriate changes can be made. I had the 12oz burger, while it's size was colossal, the flavor was not. Now I love a rare burger but this this one was hardly cooked, no char at all, which is most likely why it had no flavor. I finally came out here, as suggested by my boyfriend's coworker. When we first walked in, it was...a pub. Bunch of older guys cheering at a small TV at the bar and kinda seemed like no one was really paying attention to anyone (who wasn't a regular?) coming in. We decided to sit at the sit-in area instead of the bar. It was empty but at least it was quiet. It's a very unimpressive spot. The waitress was an older blonde woman. I really liked her! She made conversation, was funny and just nice to talk to. She didn't come in constantly come up to us, which is nice! We ordered two burgers. I had a 12oz ($7), medium well with pepper jack cheese, raw onions, jalapeños, lettuce and tomatoes. Everything that isn't the meat or bun is an add-on, so you gotta pay for it. There's even a $3 charge for sharing a plate. I mean that's a bit strange but at the same time it's understandable. I guess? My boyfriend more or less had the same thing but no tomatoes or jalapeños and fried onions instead. We also had shock tops. So I gotta say it was pretty damn good. I'd go here again for the burgers and beer! We spent a total of $35 which is pretty much what two people spend when they go out to a decently priced place to eat. I mean between that one waitress and the ridiculously good burger, I'm gonna have to give it a 4. Just get passed the looks of the place. read more

I recently saw the "Triangle Pub" off someone else's review of the place. They had incredible pictures of massive burgers. Could this have been a mistake? I was going to find out. I made the 19 minute drive to Eastport in great time. When I pulled up front there was absolutely no parking. That was because the place was packed. So I parked across the street and headed in. The place has a old fashioned vibe to it and it definitely was geared to a older crowd. But that didn't stop me from being seated. One lady wasn't that friendly, I asked if we just seat ourselves and she said "wait." I quickly felt like she would be no help but another waitress came to my aid. She sat us and was on top of everything. She took the order and quickly brought out the appetizer. If you asked me to describe the stuffed mushrooms in one word, it would be incredible! They were covered in cheese, with some kind of wonderful in the middle. I had the guy from the table next to me ask what that was. I told him and he said "next time" and left with his wife. The jalapeño poppers were good, but not game changing. Then the moment of truth. Could this burger look like the one I saw in the picture? No it didn't, not even close. It looked bigger! I almost thought I mistakenly asked for a double. But no, it was one massive patty. That burger was twelve ounces of pure bliss. They had plenty of cheese and mushrooms to spare. The bacon looked small because the burger was so big. I had to take a breather to finish it. Key word is I finished. The french fries were okay. I am sold on this place. It's not around any other businesses, but people show up. The bar was packed and the restaurant was. I will be back, I can tell you that. Thanks Tom for adding the veggie burger to the menu. My wife and I, plus 2 of our friends stopped in Weds., early evening; The place was packed! We were seated at our favorite table in the rear of the solarium (extension). The burgers as always were superb, and my darling wife loved her veggie burger.
