From the outside, Diggers looks like a dimly lit hole in the wall serving up Chili's level food. In this case, appearances are more than deceiving. I visited near closing time on a weekday. There were a few patrons hanging out at the bar, but not much beyond that. I can best describe the ambience as an Irish dive bar. The bartender was attentive and friendly. I was promptly served a drink and my food order was taken within a couple minutes. Despite it being prime rib night, I order the Hot Wings and Pub Fries. The wings were nicely fried and have plenty of hot sauce of them. They came out crispy and hot, and were served with an above average restaurant ranch sauce. The wings were huge, and really hit the spot. Next I tried the pub nachos. If you are a cardiac patient, I don't recommend them, but for everyone else, I highly recommend. Perfectly smothered in a mix of shredded and melted cheese with bacon. I was looking for a tasty heart attack on a plate... and that exactly what I got. I was pleasantly surprised all the way around. I will also say that I saw several patrons order the prime rib... and it looked pretty incredible.

Awesome casual ale house with a great kitchen, good crowd and friendly staff. Really liking this place. Short rib, mushroom burger I had was off the charts.

The ambiance is great. The staff so nice. I was not in love with the food. I think it was bland. Not cheap either. Too expensive for okay food.

This place was ok for the day after St. Paddy's day! Casamegos tequila $ a bit steep!

Diggers is an iconic Irish pub in downtown Riverhead. We have eaten here before, and I must say that their burgers are outstanding. Hubby had one of their signature burgers, that had pastrami, swiss cheese, grilled onions, and of course an 8 ounce burger on a brioche bun. He enjoyed it very much. I read about their new chef in a local paper and I opted for one of their specials that was offered. A seafood linguine, and although it was tasty, I think I should have opted for the duck confit , I will do that the next time we eat there. It was a rainy Saturday night, and I must say that our waitress was very cheerful.

Great bar/pub on Main Street in Riverhead. Stephen can pour a pint with the best of them. Had a wings, pretzels, buratta platter and prime rib dip sandwich with fries. It was all delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Last night my friend and I went to Digger's for dinner, our favorite restaurant in Riverhead. We both ended up ordering the same thing for dinner - French Onion Soup (Digger's has the best so far,) Pork Nachos Starter and the Nutty Irishman Specialty Coffee for Dessert. As always, everything was delicious. The staff is very friendly, and their service is excellent. If you're ever in Riverhead, NY or planning on going there you have to go to Digger's and try the French Onion Soup, the Pork Nachos Starter and the Nutty Irishman Specialty Coffee. Trust me, you'll be glad you did!!

First time here. Very famous bar and I can see why, bartenders are amazing and very friendly. Got there before the team showed up. I sat at the bar and it appears, happy hour is really happy. People having a great time. We were a party of ten with no reservations and we were seated immediately. Now that's service! Water was out in no time and waitress took our drink order. They must have known we were from the city. I ordered a Caesar salad without meat and I got a whole head of lettuce which I managed to finish between talking and laughing it vanished. Waitress was very sweet. I would definitely come back when I'm back in the area. Great service and fun place to let your hair down among friends.

The server was very nice but she was also working as the bartender and I don't think she is a trained bartender. She got our drinks wrong, then remade them and they still weren't good. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and that was the only thing we had that was good. Our entrees were terrible. I order the filet mignon - it was a fatty, tendon filled, tough piece of meat served alongside mashed potatoes and carrots. The potatoes were fine, the carrots were just served as 3 whole carrots, nothing great. My husband ordered the pork chop which was served with a mango chutney sauce and scalloped potatoes - the potatoes were completely undercooked but at the same time looked like they were cooked a week ago and the sweetness of the chutney did not pair with the cheesy potatoes at all. To top it off while we were waiting for the check my husband noticed what looked like and moved very much like a roach - GROSS! I would have liked to give this at least two stars because the crab cake was pretty good and the servers was very nice but if there are roaches crawling out in the dining room amongst the patrons I can not even begin to imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Our waitress was wonderful and greeted us and gave us a menu for Restaurant week as well as the regular menu. The dining room was cozy and the decorations at the entrance were beautiful. We started with calamari from the regular menu, as well as chicken pot pie rolls with cranberry sauce and baked clams from the restaurant week menu. Then for my entrée, I got the flat iron steak with gorogonzola and chimichurri sauce, and my friend got the catch of the day which was a mahi-mahi. We both really enjoyed our meals and had a lot of leftovers. I liked the steamed veggies and mashed potatoes that my steak came with and she really enjoyed the fish then when we got to the end, we each got to pick a dessert and we tried the cappuccino mousse chocolate cake, as well as the chocolate ice cream. Then on the back of the receipt, there's a stamp for 10% off to purchase pies at the window outside from their sister location, NoFo Pot Pies. We had a great time here and service was excellent. I am looking forward to our next visit.

My garden salad was full of a variety of greens and vegetables and the vinaigrette dressing was a perfect complement. Others at my table enjoyed the Cesar salad option. My entree was enormous, a perfectly cooked and very large piece of salmon. Served with rice and steamed veggies, it was yummy, filling, and satisfying. I would definitely return for a meal.

The description of the restaurant, the menus and the reviews online made us to decide to give them a try. We're so glad that we did! We entered through the bar entrance which was lively but not crazy loud. There was a musician setting up in one corner of the bar area. We could hear him during our dinner but it was not at all distracting (and he was quite good). We were greeted by one of the hosts (who I now believe may be one of the owners). We were welcomed and escorted to a table in the dining room right behind the bar area. From what I could determine, there were at least two other dining areas and an outside dining area (for dining during the nicer weather). Our server quickly came to welcome us, ask if we had questions about the menu / specials and to take our drink order. She was attentive, pleasant and was able to quickly and accurately answer questions that we had (we have some dietary restrictions and needed to verify some ingredients. She knew immediately what we could order to dine safely. We started our order with the Chiccharon appetizer. I had anticipated that the item would be traditional crispy Chiccaron. Instead the dish was more of a pork belly in a broth. We actually enjoyed that much more! It was plentiful, cooked to perfection and flavorful. For dinner my wife and our friend ordered the sea bass special. They both thought it was plentiful, perfectly prepared and tasted great. I ordered the pork chop with spicy cherry peppers in a light evoo broth. I told our server that I wasn't eating potatoes or rice and asked for a recommendation for a substitute. She recommended the broccolini which was a perfect alternative. My pork chop was served perfectly (medium, juicy,) and was huge! We passed on dessert but the options looked amazing. We will absolutely be back again SOON. Thank you.

I really wish it was closer because this brewery has an inviting, clean, and modern vibe, with both indoor and outdoor seating right across from the river. The menu is extensive, making it tough to choose, but we finally settled on the snack wrap, fried pickles, and tuna wonton tacos. The presentation of all the dishes was impressive. As for the taste, I'd rate everything around 3.5 out of 5. The fried pickles were good, though we're tough critics since it's our favorite appetizer and we order it whenever it's available. The batter was a bit different from what we're used to--not bad, just not my top pick. The tuna wonton tacos were flavorful, especially with the seaweed salad on top, but the mayonnaise was a bit unexpected and threw off the taste a little bit. I would have preferred some type of Asian style sauce on them. The snack wrap was tasty but lacking some type of dressing. I wish we would have ordered some pizzas because to try too because the options looked great but I guess we'll have to save that for next time! Overall it was definitely a very cool spot that I would recommend going to. It's definitely worth going for the beers and vibes.
