I had very limited time here but overall seemed like a nice place! Staff was pretty nice and the beers were solid. Music was pretty good too.

Peter is a lifesaver! A few weeks out from an event that had been booked for a year, the Moonfish Brewery cancelled our party and returned the deposit. Peter, the owner of the North Fork Brewing Company rescued our 70 person Welcome Drinks event by opening his space privately for a 2 hour affair. Thanks to his generous spirit and willingness to help, our evening was a huge success! His very knowledgeable and outstanding staff, including Kevin (who we met prior) and bartenders Lucas and Jackie really were amazing! The space is perfect for hosting private events and most importantly the beer options are outstanding. Everyone who attended raved about how great everything was! The North Fork Brewing Company ended up being the perfect spot for our celebration. I would not hesitate to have a gathering here in the future or just hang out when it's open. If you are in the area, stop by and have a taste. You will not be disappointed!

5 stars is for their on tap ginger ale! After going to three breweries I don't know what went wrong each beer I sampled here had a bitter aftertaste. My fiancée said it was my tastebuds as he didn't have any aftertaste. Anyway, decided to switch to a non- alcoholic drink. I noticed ginger ale on tap so decided to have that. Holy moly absolutely delicious!!!!!!! Refreshing and man you could really taste the ginger in a good way! My fiancée really enjoyed it too. This brewery is large as it used to be a firehouse. The bartender was sweet. No food here but they had chips for purchase which were great!! So five stars for the ginger ale and great bartender. I can't say anything about the beers as my tastebud just weren't the same after going to a few other breweries nearby.

Came here on a gorgeous October Friday afternoon and enjoyed a flight with some empanadas. We sat on the patio. We are very covid conscious and so are we and we loved that the bartenders were masked and that the garage doors in the front were open making the whole space outdoors. My favorite beer in my flight was Butternut the Hutt. Can't wait to go back!

Cool spot to try some local brews. It's an old fire house converted into a brewery. Nice selection of beers and a food truck catering to your hunger needs. Kid friendly.

Flight of a mixture of some meh, some good, and one great beer.

Alright, I'm a softy when it comes to breweries. I wanna give them the best reviews possible and try my hardest to eek out five stars wherever I go. Perhaps it's the amount of beer styles I've consumed or my tastes always growing and changing, but recently I'm expecting a little more out of new brew-spots. Case in point: North Fork Brewing. We teetered on three stars here last week, but in the end, three and a half went up. Here's why. Of course you want to drink in a nicely set up taproom, though I don't usually let this factor in my decision too greatly. I will say that for the size, North Fork used their space well. A long bar with several large tables right behind it along with a little outer area via garage door that extends things into a cozy, comfortable, and welcoming setting. There are hints of Long Island love on the walls which is a pleasure to see and helps to grow that independent craft beer buzz that is truly needed. Staff were also friendly in my brief interactions as well as with other beer goers I overheard. I enjoyed the acoustic guitarist playing in the corner who gave a little flare to that Sunday afternoon...if acoustic guitarists fall under "flare." So where do things slip up? The beer. Now most of my three star brewery reviews hit that low due to lack of flavor and quality. Honestly, North Fork started off in such a way via several beers that seemed to miss the mark on the flavoring they were trying to yield. Dark side of the Maple porter (you can figure out the flavor) and Butternut the Hutt (pumpkin/squash) didn't really rock their respective styles or tastes. It was a step in the wrong direction. Another brew that improved from these two but didn't entirely do it was Receptor V2. This pale ale was meant to have some hints of orange and coconut, though I never really tasted them (albeit there was something fruit-ish flavor in some sips). Receptor did have a mildly hoppy finish which helped in giving it a good ending. The savior of the flight I consumed was Run The Juice. This NE style IPA was on point from first sip (I literally let out an "ooh") and continued to deliver in its subtle hoppy flavor and mouthfeel coating. I was impressed to say the least. Between this and the fact that there were five more beers I didn't get to try (some sounding wondrous) leads me to wanting an uptick for four stars over three. Overall, North Fork Brewing didn't hit on all cylinders and came close to falling under the level of quality breweries that are found on this lengthy island. But with a sizable selection and a few brews (Run the Juice!) that are superb, NFB is worthy of a visit and return trip. Next time I find myself on a beer-venture in Riverhead I'll be sure to add in North Fork Brewing to the mix. Here's hoping things hop up from here because this guy (me) loves to give out five stars for beer.

I really enjoyed my time at North Fork Brewing Co. We reserved outdoor seating after spending the morning at the nearby aquarium. My boyfriend and I had a flight each, and enjoyed trying different brews. His favorite was the Run the Juice IPA, and my favorite was the strawberry IPA which I had a glass of after the flight. While we were sampling some of the beers, we ordered some snacks for lunch. We shared the lobster roll (no filler!), chili cheese dog, and potatoes. The environment is really chill at this brewery, and it looks like a distillery just opened next door from them too. This looks like a great spot to bring friends on a night out. Also important: staff was all wearing masks, patrons were asked to wear masks, and each time a patron/group would leave, staff would sanitize everything they touched. I felt safe drinking and eating here!

Loved this brewery. It was nice that they were still able to do flights during COVID. We tried 10 different beers and every single one was complex, full of flavor, and very drinkable. Loved the vibe and decor, and the staff was very friendly. Everyone wore masks and observed social distancing rules.

This was definitely something new- a brewery in an old fire house. Cool place. Nice selection of beers and good crowd. The place was pretty crowded for a Saturday during the day in December. The bartenders served us right away which was pleasant surprise for a crowded brewery. Plenty of tables and room to sit down and they had live music during the day on Saturday. The only thing I didn't see here was food or food trucks. Really liked the atmosphere and relaxed vibe about the place. Definitely head over if you are in the area.

Great beer, great staff and great layout. Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly and the open seating area (indoor, outdoor, and in the brew room). All round awesome spot

North Folk Brewing just opened & they're already killing it with their awesome beer! I sampled a few of their brews at the grand opening & they were all high quality. Pierce the Ale is their flagship west coast style IPA that your lite beer drinking buddy would like while pleasing any beer snob. I'm glad they have a varied selection of beers & aren't too heavy on just IPAs. My favorite beer (& the one I was looking most forward to trying) is their stout brewed with cold brew coffee & maple syrup. I ended up taking a growler of it home to share with friends. The brewers Ian & Pete have extensive experience brewing & even source most of their hops from their local farm. They go out of their way to get as many ingredients locally as possible. Their taproom is very inviting & kid friendly. Check out the Donkey Kong machine in the corner! Lots of seating either at the bar or tables.

My favorite thing about this place aside that it is an old firehouse is that they have a good variety of beers not just IPAs.

Well I'm not so impressed by my fellow Yelpers and beer drinkers right now. How is it possible a…read morenew brewery goes unreviewed this long? Yeah I know we're still living in the Covid times, but grab that mask, squeeze on some sanitizer, and social distance your way over to Tradewinds Brewing in Riverhead. I did just that with my female counterpart a little more than a month ago. And that's why I'm flabbergasted! Tradewinds still has no posted reviews and that's a shame (because they're a pretty respectable brewery). Maybe it's the fact that many might not even realize that in a short chunk of time, Tradewinds morphed into existence from Crooked Ladder Brewing. It's the same spot and the same look, style, and feel, but don't expect the same beers. Well, don't expect the same employees either. I say that in a positive manner because when we strolled in the guy behind the bar was amazingly nice. Without asking, he explained everything on tap and even offered to open up a can of something not available via draft. The friendly interaction really set the mood for our brief time there, even if we were seated out on West Main Street at one of the tables setup along the sidewalk. Okay, beer time. No flights were available from what I gathered (at least at that time) plus I was the driver of the day so I went with just one pint. A few IPAs, a light lager, a hefeweizen, smoked maple stout, and one other (we'll get to him in a second) made up the menu. From the aforementioned employee's description of the beers, I went for HopShip, a New England style IPA with just enough subtle hoppy bite to work well on the palate and hit the proverbial spot on a warm September day. Honestly I might've skipped the review (perhaps like others?) if I had stopped at just this pint, but I did actually come with other drinkable thoughts in mind...that last beer I left out was actually Tradewinds' own pumpkin ale by the name of Incarnation. Instead of trying it there, I took the chance (which I don't normally don't) and bout a reasonably-priced four pack of this brew. Cans to go is always a plus, by the way. The next night, despite my own chagrin of saying I wouldn't drink anything pumpkin related until after Labor Day (it was two days prior), I popped a can and poured one out into a glass. Maybe my expectations were super high, but Incarnation didn't entirely hold the embodiment (pun intended) of a pumpkin beer I hoped for. Better than many basic ones, but not of the upper gourd echelon. I still have a few cans remaining to see if that changes. Time will tell. Overall, if I take the Untapped scores of the two beers I tried and average them out, I'd get a total that's close to four, and so that seems about right for Tradewinds on star total. I mean they have a lot of promise to be something spectacular. With a great location in the heart of Riverhead, super friendly staff, and a handful of beers that seem like they're trending in a decent direction, I'd say five stars is certainly (eventually) possible. Hopefully the word gets out (at least after this review) because I want to see someone else type up their opinion. Let's go Yelp fam. Drink up!

Yelp actually brought us to Tradewins as other breweries in the area were closed for winter break. We looked Tradewins up and decided to go. We were greeted instantly by the beer-tender when we walked in. It's small inside, which does make it difficult with Covid, but it wasn't crowded so we were able to grab a table. We both went with a pumpkin beer. No cinnamon rim, but it was delicious and cold. Lots of beers on tap. Due to covid, chips are a must purchase. Also lots of 4 packs available for purchase with select varieties being BOGO. Bathroom was clean. Although this brewery is small, beer was delicious and service was great.

Feels like it's been far too long since the last time I reviewed a Long Island brewery (actually…read moreit's only been a month, but who's counting?). What really impresses me more than any beer writing is probably the last time I was actually blown away by a brewery. Luckily, I can tell you that Moriches Field Brewing Company has taken that honor. I visited with my fiancée and her family just last week with fantastic results. This relatively new brew spot revamped an old plane hanger and turned it into something special. The setup, decor of airplane pics, and logo all give homage to local aerial travel which creates a fun and unique vibe. It felt like a brewery which is perfect, though it didn't have a rowdy or loud feeling (and that was ideal). Some beer havens these days get a little too crowded (LIFB?), but on this midday Sunday time, the place was totally chill. What was also chill were the friendly employees and of course, the beer! One of the staff members behind the bar semi-helped me in going through a few brew choices as I attempted to figure out what I wanted for a flight (three 5oz pours). It was incredibly impressive to see their beer board with room for upwards of 15 beers. They only (I say that word loosely) had 11 on tap, but I mean that's often more than two or three microbreweries put together! Their guest taps of a Macari wine and a cider from the Best of LI award winning Po'Boy Brewery just added to the positives, especially when my mostly-non-beer-drinking soon-to-be in-laws (and wife) ordered that cider for themselves (and loved it!). For me, we'll get back to the beer. Of those 11 choices, I went with More Riches IPA, Festive Trickster (a festbier), and the Creamsicle Cream Ale. Tasting them in the opposite order I listed, Creamsicle was outstanding. It truly had a creamy consistency with wonderful orange and vanilla hints (I got a crowler of this before departing). But honestly I could've gotten a crowler of the other two as well. Festive Trickster had just the right zing of flavor from the yeast while More Riches had the perfect subtle hoppy bite while still finishing smooth. I was so tempted to get another flight of three to try their other potentially sensational suds, but alas, we had other plans on hand that day. All the more reason to return soon! Overall, there's really nothing negative I can say about Moriches Field Brewing Company (well, maybe just a note somewhere on flights and pricing perhaps?). They have a welcoming setup with friendly workers and (most importantly) a packed lineup of delicious beers. I can't wait until my next trip out there to load on the positives pics to this blown away-worthy five star write up.
