I live about 1.5 hr away, but I'll drive here every few weeks to get some milk, eggs, meats, etc. The quality of their food is amazing, and you can tell they really take care of the animals. This is a hidden gem. They have a tiny sign and can easily be missed on the way to the bigger farms. I was on the lookout for it because my sister recommended it. I got fresh raw milk. The older gentleman working there was very nice and helpful. If you want fresh eggs you have to get there very early. They charge for the glass container for the milk but if you return it clean the next time you buy you won't have to pay the bottle fee. Really great find. If you live far it's recommended that you bring a cooler to keep the milk. They will also hold it for you in their fridge until after you're done exploring the area which is really nice. read more

I have been passing this farm for two years. There is a sign that reads raw milk and eggs. There is no sign that says order milk in advance which I could understand. I checked the website and found no sign of the rule book. It's a pity because if someone traveling 1 hour to get there, They will be turned away by the not so sweet old lady with the Irish Brogue. To say she was nasty was an understatement I don't mind the travel and I don't mind the rules but post it somewhere and maybe retire the old bat and get someone with a personality. On the spot. Another time I played with the most ADORABLE baby calf (yes, on a leash) for a good 20 mins. They didn't mind and were happy to answer questions. About a dollar or more per dozen than most places. The owners of the farm are REAL FARMERS not your backyard variety like me. Their service is good if a bit stand offish. Best advice: Call ahead to order milk. There is a fee for the bottles themselves, which are heavy glass. If we don't bring them back, we paid for them. However, if we do return to the farm to get more milk, we'll bring our empty bottles, which they will take and later sterilize, giving us new bottles without a charge for them. The milk, with or without having to purchase the bottles, is pricey but it is delicious and worth it. Made cheese and the best rice pudding anybody's ever tasted. Items they sell that are listed on their website: fresh brown eggs, seasonal vegetables, hay, raw milk, and potatoes. Planning to return again and expecting a busy thoroughfare on Sound Avenue with many stores and stands to attract the eye. This is true especially after Memorial Day, around holidays and weekends. The Dairy and Egg farm I love. Way back when I was told to go get eggs from "Elizabeth The Egg Lady". My mother and her family of Summerhomers didn't know the name of this dairy/egg/vegetable farm. But she knew to call ahead. If you drive from Queens to a farm and give them a bad review because you stupidly thought chickens just spit eggs on demand waiting for you...instead of calling in like anybody who understands reality...You bring shame on all of us who live in Queens during the workweek and came here. Hi I'm a mentally challenged City slicker and I think a small farm is just waiting for me to show up on a holiday weekend and buy milk the 3 cows worked overtime to fill the buckets for. Whaddya mean I should call like the other hundreds who love this place and show up weekly? What kind of supermarket runs out of eggs? I know I'll get revenge on Yelp on those Stupid farmers! Bring the kids! Elizabeth and her young helpers are happy to let your kids feed the chickens, ducks some bread. Feed them the crusts off the sammiches you know the kids want sliced off. My 2 year old niece was so in love with this place, she was chasing the ducks to play with them but they're a little too fast. Remember chickens are omnivores too. They scratch for bugs all day. This is the cutest little farm. They sell fresh milk (go early, it sells out fast), fresh eggs, and a variety of fruits and vegetables depending on the season. This milk is completely unpasteurized and untainted and well, fresh from the cow, so it will take a little getting used to. It's much thicker and creamier in consistency, and it has more flavor than store bought milk, it'll also be a little more yellow in color. I've always wanted to try unpasteurized milk, fresh from a cow to the glass, untainted by machines and technology. I googled where I could find it, given that it's legal in NY, and it turns out that there was a place only 10 mins from my family's country house in Mattituck. We pulled up to Ty Llwyd's farm and were on a line of people who were there to refill their previous bottles. There were chicken clucks echoing in the background and I decided to buy some farm fresh eggs and my first bottle of unpasteurized milk from the young woman at the stand, who was accommodating and sweet. I wasn't back in the car for 2 minutes before opening the bottle to try the milk and it was better than I imagined. It's creamy and thick and smooth, and so much more flavorful than anything in the supermarket. This morning, I made myself 2 eggs. By far, the best eggs I've ever had. In My LIFE! They're fluffy without adding anything to them and have so much more flavor than any eggs I've ever had. They're perfect and now I don't think I can eat anything else. They truly make supermarket food seem terribly inferior. I love this place and I will be back for more eggs and milk!!!! read more

This is a small family run farm. They have wonderful fresh produce, eggs and milk. If you ask, they'll let you walk around the back "yard" where you can see the free range ducks and chickens running around. This is also a great spot for old country photography opportunities and other artistic inspirations. This is the kind of spot that makes me proud to be from Long Island. What an AMAZING find situated among many of the more commercialized farms. It is like a step back into the past where everything that is sold at this farm is actually cultivated there. The raw milk and the farm fresh eggs were the main reason to drive the 60+ miles to visit this quaint and unassuming farm stand which I happened to find through a search for raw milk. David and Liz were so friendly and really made me feel like one of the family. We spoke of other organic farms that I have had the pleasure to deal with on the North Fork and David knew them all and had nothing but nice things to say. A true gentleman and delightful soul he is. Since they have a limited supply of milk each day, I would recommend you getting there early to reserve your milk (I spent a beautiful morning and afternoon enjoying the North Fork and had repaid for 6 gallons) and put your name on the list for eggs which are only a couple of hours old at most. I felt like a kid in a candy store and the joy of seeing this old world mentality and quality that is absent from today's profit driven farms was so heartwarming. I was lucky enough to get 2 dozen eggs when I went back to pick up my milk stash! I asked for some basil and David walked me back to his little herb crop and picked it fresh(he went to the farthest point from where we entered to pick me his best). As we walked back there were chicken feathers all over a small area and I asked about a chicken fight and he said, in the most unassuming and calm voice, " this is where I killed a chicken for dinner......" It was so matter of factly but so true to him and his lifestyle. The raw milk is like nothing you have ever tasted and it is one of the best nutritional items that you can put into your body. The eggs were absolutely the richest eggs I have ever tasted and the shells were so thick which is so different than mass produced eggs. No matter where you will be traveling from it is without a doubt one of the most worthy trips for the most delicious farm fresh products you can get on the North Fork. Make sure you tell David Bruce(city slicker even though I'm from Long Island) sent you and you'll get that big and calming smile. It was an amazing experience and your children will love it too.
