Something must have happened to Mr Goodale. The farm has gone downhill over the last two years. There is no produce. The milk is not their milk any longer, the items in the fridge are commonly expired. The poor animals don't look like anyone is caring for them. It's very sad. I love this place. I don't give out very many one star reviews, but this was such an offputting experience that I don't have much of a choice. I came to Goodale during normal business hours (according to Google anyway) and what I pulled up to looked like an abandoned farm. There was no one to be found anywhere. There was no produce, a few dead plants, a few things that looked like they were going bad in the indoor freezers and refrigerators of this place, some rotting onions and a cash register that was unattended. This all wouldn't be that troubling, but this is a working farm with lots of animals on it, so I wondered how long these guys had been alone for. I took a walk around and everyone seemed to have water at least and some hay that looked decently fresh, but the goats here looked starved for attention. There was some feed left by the front of the store so we threw some in for them. No idea what's going on at this place and whether or not it's actually still running, but it was shocking to see the state this place is in (and surprising to see reviews of people who say they've purchased fresh produce or fresh anything recently). read more

After ordering produce from them for the first time, I threw everything in the trash. Most of the vegetables had started browning and did not appear to be fresh. Part of my order was in an Aldi bag, which left me confused. The bag that contained the green beans had a gas-like smell. I won't make another purchase from them. read more

This was the perfect place to satisfy my need to pet and feed farm animals on my vakay out East! The goats were terrific and the cow was sweet. There were no bad odors and all the animals seemed in good shape and happy. I'm not a fan of birds so the fact that the chickens and rooster ran away from me was good! The price is right, at Free! You just buy the food at $3 per container. They've got milk bottles too but we let the little kids have those. I'm taking off 1/2 star due to no paper towels by the hand-wash station and taking off a half star because there was an uneven set of steps to get to the lower area. Currently paying 100 dollars a week for a family box. I've been very impressed with everything. I wish there was more choices on the dairy but overall everything has been great. We have ordered home delivery from them twice, and the first time they left the delivery in the middle of the night with no notice. The second, they left out over $150 worth of products we had ordered for a party, and kept promising to "make it right", which they never did. One of my favorite farms. I love this farm so much that I signed up for their weekly box. I get meats, veggies, and my dairy from this farm. They are not organically certified but I trust them. I went to visit the farm and found out they don't put use any antibiotics or chemicals in their products. A lot of farms do not have the income to get certified organically but they do follow sustainable practice. These farmers are trustworthy, they wouldn't put anything in it that they wouldn't want their own family to eat. They deliver my food straight to my home. I pay monthly and put an order what I want for the week. I love my farm eggs. The cheeses are amazing. The burrata cheese is my favorite (love making my own pizza. Goodale Farms had a stand at the Deep Roots farmer market and I am glad they did. The guy working was super friendly and sold us on the feta spinach chicken burgers. They were 24 dollars for 4 burgers which is a good price given that it is all locally sourced and a small business; plus burgers at a restaurant would be way more expensive. The burgers were fantastic I will definitely be picking those up again and trying more items next time I am in Riverhead. Definitely give this small business a try. read more

I did not want to write this review. However, we tried Goodale Farms food delivery service in the spring. We were overcharged $125, which they acknowledged and said they would refund. However, we still have not received our refund. I have tried to contact them on numerous occasions and they have yet to respond. It has now been over 3 months. Such a cute place to take the kids. Be warned, wear clothing that covers you and take mosquito repellent with you. Because if you don't, not only will you be feeding the animals, but you're basically bringing a feast for the mosquitoes. I had my babies covered, sprayed, and with mosquito bands and they still got a bite or two in. We loved the baby goats and newborn calves. We got to feed them all. The feed is there for you to purchase. There's also milk that you can feed them. There were rabbits, chickens, and a beautiful kitty who let my baby pet her. The store had dairy products and meat for sale. We didn't see any staff, we just explored on ur own. It's not a big place so it was easy to navigate. A cute place for some family fun. What a great place! They have a self service payment system where you can feed the animals and feed yourself! Plenty of animals for the kids to feed--- goats, sheep, chickens, cows, rabbits and more! You can buy bottles of milk and plastic bowls of grain and these animals love it!! A bit intimidating that there's no one around if the animals jumped over the fence, but we were ok this time! They have a little indoor market with fresh milk, cheese, eggs, yogurt and meat. They also have freshly baked goods and small souvenirs. The craziest thing is that they have a mailbox where you deposit your money for what you've bought! Some real trusting people. They even have a "change jar" if you come with big bills. We haven't tried the yogurt or cheese that we bought but I'm sure it's too notch! We will definitely be back the next time we're out east! read more

This is a goat-milk dairy farm where you can just swing by and feed baby goats bottles, hang with some piglets and cows. All purchases are on the honor system, which includes using the credit-card machine. Who doesn't like to feed baby goats out of the bottle (3 for $10)? This is a cute and wholesome place, it missed the mark with me in the relative emptiness of the store....there was a fridge with goat milk, one bottle of cow's milk, a few containers of cheese, but that was it--no yogurt. On the way out to wine country, my lovely date saw lots of baby animals from the side of the road, so I was hanging a "u-ey" to come back to see what this great little place was all about. The wheels of the car were almost stopped when the door flung open and the mad russian was petting the cows and the goats and proclaiming her love for them and would they like to come home with us?...... Little children were all around and some parents bought baby bottles to feed the cows and the goats. Signs advised us to keep to the paths, and I'm sure that after a recent rain storm, that was extra special good advice. This place is one of, if not the only, straight-up dairy farms on Long Island that we know of. At very least, it's the only one open directly to the public. You can pull up at any time and just explore the different animal pens. There's goats, llamas, chickens, cows, sheep, and others all just hanging out ready to be pet or fed by you! There is a little shack as well where you can purchase their dairy products, including non-homogenized milk, cheese, eggs, and other organic, homegrown foodstuffs. As a heads up, they're a dairy farm first and foremost, so they don't always have someone running the counter. They have instructions for how to leave them payment, so this really isn't a problem. They do take credit, but someone must be there to run it through the machine for you, so cash is your best option. read more

This place was wonderful!! I was expecting to pet a few goats and be on my way. We stopped to feed goats that pretended to never have been fed before and as we prepped to leave, I asked if there was a restroom or a washing station, the guy manning the front stand said they didn't have facilities like that but offered to turn on the hose in the back for me. He then took a step further and asked if we had time to join the tour he promised a few other guests. He explained everything about the animals and showed us around. It was great!! OMG! I can't remember the last time I had milk like that! I bought a bottle of fresh cow milk the other day and wow. There was even cream. The best part is that when you pull up to the farmstand you can see the cows and the goats! They even have goat milk. I bought a piece of their fresh chevre de provence and it was to die for. They even have homemade feta which I'll be sure to check out next time I stop by. Which I will! I bought some fresh blackberries while I was there too. They didn't make it home. This rating and review is specific to their home-delivery service. The food, when it arrives, is of good quality. But the communication is beyond awful. They will also charge you for items they do not send, will not communicate about them or refund them, and do not respond by any communication channel. They will also give you the wrong day for delivery, and then start showing up at midnight for deliveries, which, as you can imagine, is not a wonderful time to hear the doorbell ring. They will make changes to your account without notifying you. It could be a really great service if they had the ability to communicate basic details about their services or handle basic issues. read more

I was on my way back from berry picking ( look out for that review) and the pie signs, stopped me. I pulled over. There was no one at the stand . The pies at $18, were out of my price range. So I walked into a cute cozy little store. There was bread, honey, jam, preserves, milk, me other stuff. Still no one in sight. That's when I noticed the sign. It said it was a self serve store. The owners trust you to pay and make your own change at the counter. I thought that was so so so cool. And I felt so happy to know that the owners trust their customers. I decided to buy honey, $10, and proceeded to make change. Out side there were the cutest baby animals, goats , cows and chickens etc. I took a quick pic and went. On my way.
