    Cider flight
    Diana U.

Put it on your fall bucketlist! This cute little orchard offers apple picking, hard ciders, wines by poppy and rose, gigantic cookies, and fresh apple cider donuts. Everything is super affordable for what you're getting too. I bought several bags of those gigantic cookies for our group and to bring home to family. I paid only $30 for 3 bags and they had 5 of those massive cookies! Cider flights started at $10 for 4 flavors. And $14 for all six offerings. For the east end, it was an amazing deal. There are plenty of areas to sit, from the back side where there is a firepit, to inside lounging, and front side tables. They offer games to play with too, which makes for a perfect outing for the family. Parking can get limited during certain seasons, they have the front parking area. Then they have additional parking that you have to drive further in to go to. Keep in mind, like many farms in the area, there are no real restrooms here, it is portapotties, so bring your own hand washing items, and definitely keep that in mind for your kids.

Cider flight and donut, all delicious!

A gem of a find among all the vineyards -- so nice to find something different in a cider spot, and all the ciders we tried were among the best we've ever had. There's a lovely shaded outdoor seating area w lots of umbrella's tables, a great place to enjoy a flight and some of the delicious cider donuts (a must to get a bag). Our flight included traditional dry, traditional sweet, ginger, cranberry, pumpkin and raspberry and there wasn't a dud among them. The lady inside the shop was so friendly and even gave our friend w a baby a free donut. We will absolutely be returning next time we are on the North Fork and look forward to trying their wines as well then!

Drove from Woodside, Queens to Woodside Farms (hahahaha). I heard that the apple cider donuts here are the best so decided to give them a try! We drove right in & there was a sign stating U-Pick section was closed but we decided to go inside & see what they had to offer. The apple cider donuts smelled so good! We got a whole dozen -- they were warm & crispy & not overly sweet -- We could not wait so we devoured them in the car! My uncle also tried the chocolate chip cookie which he said was one of the best he's had! I wish there was a bigger selection of pies -- but the other sweets definitely made up for it! This is THE SPOT for hard cider -- sadly we were in a hurry, but would def come back to try the flights that I saw people enjoying!!

What a fun spot for cider and cider donuts! The seating area at this location is more expansive than the Jamesport location so we stopped in after an afternoon of apple picking. We really enjoyed the donuts which were light and not overly sweet. I had the hot cider which was soothing on a crisp autumn day. The hard cider flavors were also interesting. The line was rather long but still worth it. Would definitely come back!

Woodside Orchard offers something unique and wonderful. I can't believe I found them but I'm glad I did. My original plan was to make a trip there to go apple picking but unfortunately, it was to late in the season to actually pick apples. Fortunately for me, Woodside Orchard offers much more than just apple picking. Woodside Orchard offers a cider tasting experience that you won't find anywhere else around. My bestie and I arrived and the place was already teaming with guest. Woodside Orchard has free parking and several picnic tables all around. Please note that this is a first come first serve establishment and I'd also recommended that you go early to beat the crowd. My friend and I both enjoy a flight and a side snack because you can't sit and only drink. A sack must also be purchased with your drink order. The flight is priced just right and I'd recommend that you try them all. The flavors include raspberry, pumpkin, ginger, cinnamon and many more. My favorite was the cinnamon flavored cider. Please do yourself a favor and give them a try, they also have souvenir jugs that you can purchase with your favorite flavored cider to go. I bought one filled with their delicious cinnamon flavored cider. Cheers!!

Pick your own apples bag ($20)

Visited Woodside Orchards on a Sunday, and it had everything I hoped for to welcome in the fall season. They have 2 locations that are right up the road from one another. The day I visited, one location was open for apple picking and the other location was open for tastings. We ended up visiting both, but because of the close proximity it was easy to do so. Both locations had parking lots, and we had no issues there. The picking portion of the day was at the Jamesport location. One important note is that this location is cash only. One bag of pick your own apples was $20. After purchasing a bag, we headed into the orchard. Since we went in October, the apples in some sections were getting a bit picked over. We had to go deeper into the orchard, but once we did, we found enough nice and fresh apples to fill our bags. This location had some cider/donut offerings, but we skipped them here in favor of the other location with the full menu. One thing we didn't know coming in is there are no restrooms on property (just porta potties). After picking, we headed over to the Aquebogue location. This location has several outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas, and a few indoor tables inside the building you order in. They offer a variety of desserts, ciders, and hard ciders to choose from (the flavor offerings change). We tried a cider flight and apple cider donuts. The donuts were served warm and were perfectly soft and flaky. The ciders were enjoyable, with flavors ranging from traditional to pumpkin to apricot. We really enjoyed the classics and getting to try some of the new unique flavors that were unlike ciders we've had before. Overall, made for an amazing day! Absolutely recommend making the trip, just make sure you check what is open at each location the day of your visit and plan to bring cash if you check out Jamesport.

Came here for my birthday weekend and had a really great time. This place is a cute little cider house with a big orchid out back. In the front there is a few tables and around back they have corn hole, some more tables and a fire pit. They sell fresh pies and fresh hot cider donuts along with their apples from their orchid. Nice place to spend a weekend afternoon while exploring the east end. My boyfriend and I got a flight and you get like 5 or 6 but honestly we only liked about 3 of them. The ones that we did like were great! Very clean after taste and super fresh. Not too sugary like big brand hard ciders.

Have been back a few times since. Once pulled in off the road... its such a lovely country farm with a big enclosed farm stand. Outside find lots of cheerful displays of seasonal farm items. Hay, tractors, pumpkins when in season, flowers and more. They have a nice selection of their own grown fruit and vegetables and carry other local farms produce as well. They have small signs clearly stating local, or "our own" which are always a treat to have direct from the farm. Helen's makes pies too. It's also nearby Brierrmere's down the block. The night before Thanksgiving, Helen's offered an alternative option to the long lines for pies. In summer I once tried a mixed berry pie. This time tried an apple and pumpkin. This was the year for less baking and smaller lines... this made it easy. Much appreciated. Pies seemed not too homemade. Crisp sliced apple with the same gel like cinnamon on most of the apple pies out here. Not too homemade tasting. Seemed more commercial frozen and bake. So for true homemade pies, try nearby Junda's or Briermere. For an ok assortment of grab and go pie, this worked. The lady's are sort of pleasant but leaning more toward efficient and courteous. Not the warmest vibe here on different visits. No one seems genuinely friendly like you might want at a small town shop. Once asked about a pie, and one woman sort of mocked my question joking "its a fruit pie" slightly sarcastic. The cashier on a another visit wouldn't show a pie, by opening a box citing the owners rules. So took my chances. Lol. That shouldn't deter you, its clean, fresh and pretty to look at. A nice stop off when touring at the beginning of the North Fork.
