I visited this fruit farm and it was a wonderful experience. I picked fresh peaches from the tree. I also went on a ride around the farm on a tractor. The workers at the farm were very friendly. It was also nice to get some history about the farm. There was also a shop where you could purchase food items. I definitely grabbed some apple cider donuts. They were delicious. I come out to Wickham Farms every year and it is still my favorite place on the Northfork. Mr. Wickham drove my tractor and gave everyone a full history of the farm and of his family and how they have managed to keep it as a family operation for multiple generations. I will not come back again. They lied about the entrance fee and when we got there, we realized that we had to pay $38 for a small bag. The lady on the phone told us that there is no fee at all, just to bring customers in. Why would we pay $38 for a small bag when we can get it cheaper at the store. A Cutchogue Landmark. We have been going there for many years and the owners and staff have always been pleasant and helpful. I have never witnessed any negative behavior at any of the many times I have been there. They have great cider, cider donuts, pies, cookies and produce farmed on their fields. Prices may be high but they always have quality products. We used to go apple picking but the price is a little steep but it's worth it for the experience if you have not been there before. Went peach picking towards the end of August.. There were tons of deliciously ripe peaches that we ate before actually putting them in our bag.. The farm also had blackberries and raspberries which we got to try some and they were so sweet and ripe.. Unlike any you could find in the stores. They had all their apple trees (including green apples and red) ready to go for September! This is a must do, the experience is lovely. Don't buy the Jam (peach or apricot) at the farm stand. I bought them this Monday and opened the peach jam only to find out there was so much pectin in the jam it was one big blob. Even heat would not break it up. It did not spread. It was harder that jello. I'm sure the apricot is the same, it sure looks like it. I also bought honey but I'm afraid to taste it. read more

We last went out to Wickham in 2010. Had I written this review then it would have been more positive. Wickham has change their policies. You must now pay for a membership $20 in order to pick your own fruit which is renewable yearly at $10. And then they charge $30 for you to fill your bag with apples.They say this is due to the high demand of people coming out to pick the fruit that they now charge for a membership??? It might make sense if you are not thinking it through. YOU are going out and physically picking the fruit, not them so gathering the fruit is not n added cost for them. We felt this was a scam so we decided to just go into the stand and buy some fruit. WOW what a difference not being there in two years made. The price of the fruit was laughable. We got in the car drove down to the road to another Fruit/Veg stand where we found great items and a better selection at reasonable prices. If you are lucky to have money to throw away and don't mind being treated as if you are dumb enough to pay for a membership while you are doing the picking then by all means go here, otherwise look for a different place to pick your own. My family and I went here for fruit picking. We were very excited because we had not done so in awhile. We were very disappointed. They wanted us to pay $25 for a small bag, which looked like it could only hold 20 regular sized apples at most. We decided that since we drove an hour and a half to get there we would buy some donuts and a pie. The 6 donuts cost us $6 & the peach pie was small & cost $ 10. They were just OK not worth the price. The produce cost about $1 a piece. Lewin ' s Farm in Calverton only charges you for what you pick (per pound) and there is a better selection of produce at a reasonable price. Please they have roasted corn on a stick. read more

Whenever I travel out east, Wickham's is always on my agenda. Tell me... what's better than homemade baked goods and fresh/local produce?! Their little shack isn't large, but they make use of all the space they have. Whatever is in season, they'll have in stock. In one area you'll find local produce. Last time I went was a month ago, so naturally they had all of the summer fruits -- strawberries, watermelon, cherries, nectarines, peaches, etc. On the opposite side of the store they have a refrigerator filled with all sorts of cheeses and other goodies. Adjacent is a shelf with homemade jams, spreads and marmalades. Have I convinced you enough? Ok, ok... if that's not the deciding factor then head to the center of the store. There you'll find their baked goods. During our last visit we purchased a strawberry rhubarb pie and apple zucchini cinnamon bread. Yes their pies aren't Briermere's, but they're still pretty scrumptious. They didn't have these at the time because of the season, but during the fall the apple cider cinnamon donuts are a MUST. They're average prices for stands like this. A little more than your standard grocery store, but that's what you pay for quality like this! read more

I went out into their peach orchard and blueberry patch for some U-pick today. You may think that $25 is a lot for a peck of peaches, but you're forgetting the experience of eating ripe peaches straight off the trees! Many of the peaches in the Orchard are so overripe that they'll never make it to the selling stand - that's where you come in! I ate at least half a dozen while browsing among the trees for some not quite, but almost ripe beauties. The blueberry patch was loaded with gorgeous berries -- again, at $6 a pint it's a lot, but the fun of picking and sampling is worth a little extra in my book! And if you don't want to pick, the farmstand has plenty of stuff to choose from. read more

Wickhams has manifested the Platonic ideal of the apple cider donut: still warm from frying, yet not greasy, crunchy with cinnamon and sugar and also the slightest bit on the edge from perfect cooking time, soft but cake-y, large enough to last several bites and small enough to let you and a friend or two share a bag before they cool. They are chubby and jolly and best friends with your mouth. Very disappointed in this place. The apple picking was literally disgusting. It's early in season yet the ground was littered with hundreds of rotting apples. The trees are half dead. The whole farm looks messy and needs a serious clean-up. $20 for a small bag of jonny macs and galas and we had a hard time filling it with unblemished ripe apples. Their donuts are great-- I really like the cinnamon ones. Their fresh fruits and vegetables are amazing. I personally have been coming to Wickham's with my family since I was a kid. Their pies are pretty good-- not as good as Briermere in Riverhead, of course-- but for the area, probably some of the best. I personally like the apple crisp the best. Their cheeses are a bit overpriced, I'd opt out of them unless you can't really find time to get them elsewhere, although they do carry local Chevre (goat cheese). My favorite thing of all time, though? Their peaches. Seriously, the best peaches I've ever had. I go through so many during the summer, every time I'm out in Cutchogue! Went there for U-Pick Cherries. Staffs were friendly. The lady taught us how to pick the sweet ones. Very helpful tips! They do have lots of rules like no bag no stroller ...etc which I think it's fine. It was $9 per container paid upfront and it held more cherries than we thought. Cherries were beautiful and sweet. I came here a few weeks ago for apple picking. While I thought the place was nice I found that the charge for apples was pricey. One bag was $30. Maybe it would be better if the bag was not paper. They say it holds 25 pounds, but it doesn't because the bag breaks. The orchards I go to upstate give you a sack that really holds the weight. They have a hay ride that takes to to the apple trees which is nice and the picnic area was cool too. My favorite part was the baked goods. I went home with a bag of donuts which were addictive. Could not stop eating them. I would come here again, but I would bring my own bag. read more

I come to Wickham every year for many years to pick apples. I often bring about ten friends along with me. If buying donuts ask for the hot ones in the back--it's a completely different experience. I love the tractor ride and the man every year who tells me about the apples, which trees to go for, and what each apple is best used for. I gave 4 stars because I find the $20 yearly membership picking fee on top of the $30 plastic bag to fill with apples a little steep. At one point you just had to buy the bag and pay for the tractor ride but $20 is a lot. I hope they rethink this at some point. Also more information about the renewal process would be great. Other than that it's a terrific farm and I'm excited to take my friends every year and always recommend it to anyone heading out there. read more

Money hungry place with nasty staff. We took the kids out there in the hope of a day of fun at the farm where they would be able to pick their own fruits. Upon arrival, we discovered a number of rules: no strollers or bags of any kind were allowed, and each person much purchase a pint container (for $9, that held approx 1 lb of cherries) before we were allowed into the orchard. In fact, they had someone standing by the entrance to enforce those rules. We tried to explain to them that we had a toddler that required the use of our little umbrella stroller (which had no bags or baskets to carry or hold anything), and that I would need to bring a small bag with water and some snacks for her. They would not allow it. The also required each of us to buy a container, including the toddler! The older woman behind the cash register started to get very impatient and nasty. She started mumbling something about how some people (meaning my family) just wanted to go in there and eat for 2 hours and don't want to pay for anything. By then we realized how horrible this place is. We certainly did not want the kids to witness the mean attitudes of these people. We drove two hours there so that the kids could have some fun, unfortunately there is no fun at this place. We just turned around and left. Instead, we went to Lewin Farm down the road and the kids had a great time picking blueberries and raspberries. They did not have those ridiculous rules; all bags and strollers and little toddlers were welcome! They charged by the pound and the staff was super friendly. Wickham's Farm only cares about money, they have no regard for visitors or locals who try to support them. They will drive everyone away with their nastiness (it actually shows already, as there were only a few cars parked in their farm on a nice Summer Saturday afternoon where as Lewin was packed with cars). We would never go back to this place and would like to share our experience with others so that they will be warned. We should all boycott this place and just let their fruits rot with the nasty attitudes. read more

They hid the $38 Per bag fee on the website and when I called so I started my trip off to a bad start. There were a lot of rotten apples all over and a very slim selection of Fuji apples available. Donuts were decent at about $1, apppe cider was good, but the pies were small and the scones barely have any apple flavor. I am so disgusted with this place. I drove over an hour with my three year old nephew to try and pick peaches. My sister and her husband came from buffalo and they would not let us pick peaches unless we spent $75 in bags. They would not give us one bag. I tried to explain that we were just here for my nephew and they didn't care. End result was we drove there for nothing. I will never go back to this place ever again. So ridiculous. Horrible place to visit....I own a transportation company and sent drivers with two schools out there and they screamed at the drivers and advised them to stay on the bus! (Not business like) Althought not necessary, they would not comp the drivers apples and treated them horribly. NEVER EVER EVER taking trips to this location again!!! Very disappointed. Been there as a kid and loved it. Beautiful orchard and fruit. Yet, coming back many years later, disheartening. Living on the north fork being a local, and raised on a farm myself i was rather excited to support other local farms being that we don't grow fruit. When told it would be 80$ to pick 2 small bags of apples for the u pick. i turned around and left. The fact that you have to by a membership? For what?The one time I'm actually going to pick apples. This farm was immensely disappointing. The apples were very far away and we had little to no guidance to find them. The farm was lackluster and deserted, it made you want to get in and get out it was not set up for a fun day spent Apple picking. They advertised that it was $20 a bag for picking which was one of the reasons I picked this place over competition, but when we arrived there was a tiny bag for $20 and the standard size bag was $38 (about the same as anywhere else locally). The $38 bag wasn't mentioned online and when I mentioned it the woman working told me she didn't know what was on the site and that they do have a $20 bag if I wanted that one instead. She was rude and dismissive. The only good thing to say about this place is that even at the end of the season the apples I tried were delicious. read more

This is definitely the best farm stand on the north fork! Everyone working there is so nice and they have the best donuts in the world, no question. Wickham's has been my favorite produce stand for many years. There are so many produce stands on the East end and they're all good. What sets Wickham's apart is the plentiful variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and so many other goodies. The donuts and cider are to die for. read more

I'm not so much a fan of the farm itself or the people that run it, but this review is solely for the cinnamon doughnuts. They are the best doughnuts you can find around here. Such a guilty pleasure, especially when they are warm. Come for the doughnuts, but don't waste your time with the fruit because it's usually hit or miss. read more
