I brought my niece and nephew, and we easily had one of the funnest afternoons! The Barnyard Adventure is a paid area ($28.95 per person on weekends), but with eight acres packed full of things to do, it's worth every penny. To put the size in perspective ... it's like exploring six football fields lined up together! The highlights for the kids included getting up close with a variety of farm animals, a trike track, sports zone, and multiple playgrounds, pig races, a musical hayride ... there truly is something for all ages. The atmosphere is lively, especially with those pig races and musical hayride tours. My niece and nephew were totally engaged from start to finish. There are plenty of food stands throughout the property with the classic farm favorites. Apple cider donuts (my personal fav), popcorn, ice cream, and coffee stands for the grown-ups. Speaking of adults, a huge bonus is the vineyard right on the property. I treated myself to a glass of rosé to enjoy while the kids played, which was a nice addition. It does get busy, but the whole setup is well organized that it does not feel too crowded. Barnyard Adventure is one of those rare places that charms both kids and adults, making it a perfect fall or weekend family destination. When you arrive, you can choose between a $20 or $50 bag, and they give you an apple picker stick so you can start your adventure through their stunning 30 acres of apple trees. The land and environment are absolutely beautiful--open skies and rows of apple trees that make the whole place feel peaceful and welcoming. The farm grows an incredible 26 varieties of apples, and you can truly taste the organic freshness in every bite. There's something so special about eating an apple you picked yourself--it's crisp, flavorful, and full of that farm-fresh sweetness you just can't find anywhere else. There's also a cozy fire pit area to relax by, a spot to grab drinks, and the market offers fresh eggs and tomatoes for sale, which was such a nice touch. Again, so much for the "fresh", "super-sweet" advertising! I would avoid these larger stands and find the smaller ones that harvest daily and do not sell old produce. Some of the larger ones also bring in products that are not local, so there is no real way to verify the "local" claim. I think it was fairly priced at 14 dollars. The staff was very friendly and kept the line moving fast. They have a few tables indoor with tables in the front and back outside. We also bought the bags to go apple picking in the back. It was very nice being able to go apple picking without the crazy crowds. The bugs were a bit crazy because of the rotten apples on the floor but that is to be expected. This is my new go go apple picking spot out east.
