I went here in September with my family. We went "apple picking". It is a very nice place for kids to enjoy the grounds (jungle gym for kids to climb, props for kids to put heir face, pumpkin patch, corn maze...). The grounds is beautiful. They have food that can be purchased. But I was very disappointed to find out that they do not have Apple a La mode. The main reason we went was for Apple picking and it was NOT worth it. We spent $56 for the biggest option for them to give us and it was a tiny basket. No Granny Smiths were available. I could have bought a bag of apples bigger than that at the supermarket $7. There were 2 animals that were there that didn't look well cared for. I would go back for the grounds itself but not for apple picking

Great play area for kids as you enter the farm. They are also some animals there but they looked pretty sad. There was a corn maze that I didn't go into, $5pp. The apple picking was $15pp for a small bag or a box for $55 for 4 people. I did think the $15pp was pretty high and the bag was small. I managed to squeeze 9 apples into my bag. We went in mid October so already some of the trees were bare but we were still able find a good amount of apples. I also had the cider donuts which were good.once we were gone we left. There was also a food stand selling chicken tenders and fries

I had a really nice time when I spent the day at Windy Acre Farms. The ride out from Queens took a little over an hour without any traffic. The foliage on the way out was beautiful. When we arrived, we parked and checked out the market store. Within a minute, we were greeted by a lovely woman who explained the deal bout the U-Pick apples. We happened to come on a day when they had just dropped the prices to $10 (from $12.50) for a quarter-peck bag, which holds about 10-12 medium sized apples. The walk from the farm stand to the orchard is about 10 minutes (if that). They had a lot of different types of apples, and I had no problem filling my bag. It was a lot of fun walking up and down the apple aisles and checking out all of the different varieties. I will definitely visit again in the future! When we left, we hit up the farm stand. They had a 9 pound broccoli for only $3! I didn't get it (although I've dreamt about it every day since), but I did get a blueberry crumb cake and it was delicious!

Came here for strawberry picking in the middle of June. There were still lots of strawberries but you have to really search for it as the ones in the front were already picked at or too small to be picked. But you'll get surprised once in a while when you spot a big one. We probably spent a good 30-40 minutes picking berries to fill up our basket. There's a spacious play area for kids to run around in, a market store in the front where you can buy fruits and vegetables, and a concession stand selling donuts, soft serve, and other food/beverages. Definitely get the apple cider donuts, it's the best.

$15 per person for a tiny bag of apples for whoever walks in whether you want apples or not. Free admission but be prepared to pay for all extras I won't be coming back

Lovely farm for a lot of fruit picking needs! Parking is very, very limited so come earlier. I think you might have to venture further away for some spots, we were lucky to snag one as someone was leaving. Apples/peaches/veggies are together and it's $10 per person to go in, plus they give you a paper bag that holds up to 4lbs of goodies. Or you can pay $30 for a box that will hold up to 15lbs of fruit/vegs. The white nectarines were my favorite but they were mostly rotting and limited when I went two weeks ago. But all of the peaches are just so so good, definitely more juicy than what I'd be able to get at my supermarkets. For the veggies, there's string beans, tomatoes, peppers, gourd/squash, and eggplant. Grapes/berries will cost $5/box but they're not the thick concord/muscadines that I like so I didn't go Right before you enter, there's a huge sunflower patch! Super pretty, you can't really go inside since it's not a sunflower maze, but lots of photo-ops surrounding the patch. Downside....the nasty portapotties. Ugh.

My kids loved the play area and we all loved the many different types of apples available to pick as well as veggies.

I brought my niece and nephew, and we easily had one of the funnest afternoons! The Barnyard Adventure is a paid area ($28.95 per person on weekends), but with eight acres packed full of things to do, it's worth every penny. To put the size in perspective ... it's like exploring six football fields lined up together! The highlights for the kids included getting up close with a variety of farm animals, a trike track, sports zone, and multiple playgrounds, pig races, a musical hayride ... there truly is something for all ages. The atmosphere is lively, especially with those pig races and musical hayride tours. My niece and nephew were totally engaged from start to finish. There are plenty of food stands throughout the property with the classic farm favorites. Apple cider donuts (my personal fav), popcorn, ice cream, and coffee stands for the grown-ups. Speaking of adults, a huge bonus is the vineyard right on the property. I treated myself to a glass of rosé to enjoy while the kids played, which was a nice addition. It does get busy, but the whole setup is well organized that it does not feel too crowded. Barnyard Adventure is one of those rare places that charms both kids and adults, making it a perfect fall or weekend family destination. I can't wait to come back next year for more memories (and donuts) with my niece and nephew!!

BIG mistake! During September and October I realize I can easily buy apples and pumpkins at the Shoprite located a half of a block away from my house, but what I really want is the EXPERIENCE of picking them with my family. It's something we look forward to each fall and always enjoy. Well, so much for "always". Today's trip to the Davis Peach farm was how I imagine a convicted felons first trip must be to Rikers Island. You are greeted at the gate by large signs that basically tell you that you are only allowed the clothes on your back and the loved ones you arrived with. For those that can't read, a large man will remind you of the rules and then make your wife put her tiny purse back in the truck. He did thank us for complying with the rules, but in a way that felt disingenuous. Next up is the half asleep/half annoyed bag handler that forces you to front ten dollars before you set foot in the field. Not that you don't get the ten bucks put towards your purchase, but it's another example of how this place is run. With more rules than Seinfelds Soup Nazi.... The fields are covered with broken branches, garbage, and yellow police caution tape. But since I had already paid the ten dollar minimum, I just made the best of it and filled our bags and got the hell out of there. To be fair, the fruit towards the back was nice and ripe. It's just that to get there you have to deal with all of the hostility and regulations first. But that's what I get for not hitting yelp before I went!!!!
