Very nice winery/vineyard with very friendly staff. Wines are really good and reasonably priced. The patio area overlooks the vineyard and is a great relaxing spot.

The Quick: Love this vineyard so much that we joined the club (fantastic deal by the way, highly recommend looking into). Absolutely beautiful vineyard with ample outdoor seating. The wine is fantastic and so is the atmosphere and vibe. Classy yet inviting. No stuffiness here, but also no 21 year olds puking... Somewhere in between. The Details: The Cab Franc is the real star here, but I love doing tastings to try a little bit of everything. They sell bites on premises, and often bring in local oyster farmers that will shuck you a dozen to pair with your whites. Bedell has live music on occasion, and always seem to be highlighting local artists. Check their website for more details

We have been coming here for years. All year long every season. The wine is great. The experience is better. You can sit all day and drink, hear get music and even get something to eat. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable There are special events that you shouldn't miss too. Especially the tour. This is one of the best wineries on Long Island.

Made this place our second stop of the day recently after having an exceptional time at another winery. Sat under their tent which is a great place to retain heat and humidity if you're into that kind of experience. No wait staff and more shocking, no trays, so be prepared when you're grabbing a flight and cheese plate if you're with someone that you will have to walk back and forth 3 times just to start your experience there. Now in my opinion I didn't care for the wine but when you're bouncing around from place to place I don't expect to like them all. I could see other people were enjoying it and the view of the vineyard from the raised deck was very nice. Maybe some fans to move the air around on a humid day would have made the experience there a little better or at least some trays so I didn't have to walk back and forth a bunch of times ‍

My husband and I have been members here for almost 10 years. At that time, we heavily researched vineyards to join. It has to satisfy a number of criteria: good wine, indoor and outdoor seating, good benefits and for guests as well, and that you could bring your own food. This hit the mark. We loved taking advantage of its offerings and with friends. My husband even arranged to have a milestone birthday party for me here in their upper loft area. Unfortunately a few years later, the north fork really boomed, prices went up, and they all stopped allowing outside food, which put a bit of a damper on how we enjoyed coming here. But it's all of them now, so we had to adapt. Sometimes we would come to pick up our wines and they were closed for an event. They became too popular. I think they are doing a bit better with handling events and large groups. We still want to feel like we are having a personal experience. We still feel that they are one of the better tasting wines out of the vineyard options.

Nice spot w pretty views. The wine was pretty good for Long Island. Whites better than reds.

Bedell is a must when visiting the Vineyards in Northfork. We love the hospitality from the stuff . The beautiful grounds and family friendly vineyard. We love all their wines from the Rosé to the red wines . Take it from the man behind the wine .... Richard Olsen Harbich who we were delighted to meet at the vineyard.

Our children gave us a gift certificate to Bedell Cellars for a tour, wine tasting and cheese sampling. We were not sure of the details but were not expecting such an elaborate experience we had. We made reservations for 12:00 PM on a Wednesday. When my wife I arrived we walked into the bar area, had a very nice warm welcome feeling to it with the bar on the left and to the right a staircase going to a loft where you can sit and have drinks and snacks. Jack our tour guide came out to greet us and poured us each a glass of their sparkling rose. We sipped it as Jack took us on a tour of the winery which lasted one hour. He explained the history and how the owner had started the winery and then built upon it. Also told us all about the grapes, the vines, the types of barrels and the process. Their 2009 Merlot was featured the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. He was detailed and interesting. He was a wealth knowledge and answered all our questions without hesitation. After the tour we were brought outside where there was a huge bar which is utilized during large events. We were seated at a reserved table overlooking the vineyard on a beautiful day. Jack then brought out a meat, cheese and nuts platter with Bruschetta Toasts. The platter was a very generous portion big enough for a full meal. Then the wine tasting began, We were given 6 more wines and sparkling wines to try, all white and rose because we told Jack we preferred white. Each one was served to us at long intervals so we can enjoy and savor the taste. We had the Viogner, Chardonnay, Taste White, Blanc De Blancs , Sparkle and the Taste Rose were given an explanation of each. At first we were the only ones there, then other people started coming in, however since we had the tour we were treated like VIPs. The entire event lasted over 3 hours and Jack our host was awesome, very polite, informative and accommodating. If you like to find more about wine and enjoy wine tasting I would highly recommend this tour at Bedell.

I have been an ongoing visitor Bedell Vineyards for many years. They are one of the very early growers of red wines on Long Island; they grow on many acres Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard originally began in 1980 and the self-taught winemaker Bedell, focused on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which at that time have become the region's dominant red grapes. Sometime in the year 2000, Michael Lynn had purchased the vineyard and expanded their acres of red wine vines. We recently visited the vineyard and we sat outside by their growing vines relaxing while enjoying a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc, which was by the way very good. The staff was providing a safe and much sanitized environment. This is one of my most visited vineyards whenever I am in the Long Island Wine region. Long Island wine does not savor similar to wine from California, Bordeaux, or Umbria or anywhere else except Long Island. The comparisons is what is missing, not Long Island wine.

One of my favorite wineries in the North Fork. I love their patio. Perfect view of the Vineyards and has the right amount of cover from sun on those warm days. I had the best bartender/server. Older man and super funny. He would have some thing to say about each winery I was tasting . I wish I remembered his name cu I would have mentioned him on here We happened to come on a day when they featured a lovely and awesome duet - Garrett and Tamara. They sang wonderful together along to the sweet sound of Garrett's guitar. If you happen to catch them here or one of the venues they perform at- then you will have a treat! We did not eat or snack on anything here but there are a few items for sale at the bar.

Sipping but a disappointing visit. Third time we've been here where the folks (especially inside) seem not to want to spend much time describing the wine. (Our experience outside has been better, but this day was over 90 with unreal humidity). This at a place that's significantly more expensive than most! If I had any interest in buying some wine today... or joining their club... I passed. It's such a pretty place, but can't say I'll be back soon.

Tasting flights are 5 for $20 No entrance fee Parking available in the front (about 25-ish spots) Visitors are free to roam the premises There is seating upstairs (where you'll be able to look down into the wine barrel room), and eating out in the patio/deck area (where you'll be overlooking the vineyard area) People here are polite, friendly, and professional, and on a nice spring/summer day wine tasting is the ideal day time activity

Rach S.

We came here as they were the wine of the 2013 inauguration. The wine all over the North Fork is not my favorite as I prefer the Napa wines. I liked the Sauvignon Blank here and they were offering a special on that. We had the spring tasting flight for $15. There was live music and comfortable seating on the grass looking at the vines.

It may not be the most standout vineyard on the North Fork, but it is absolutely worth a visit if you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable wine tasting experience. My wife spotted this rustic looking facility, so I turned in and immediately got a good feeling about it. The owner greeted us and made us feel entirely welcome. We sat down and looked at the tasting choices and had a fairly easy time filling up our dance card with 5 selections. We had the place to ourselves at first, and spent time getting to know Perry, a woman whose family has owned the operation since 1974. She said most of the buildings date back from the mid 1859s. Entertainment was also provided by 20 chickens (17 hens and 3 roosters). The wines were wonderful and lovingly explained by Perry. We left with a red and a white, and a feeling that this had been a very special hour.

The continental breakfast (from 8-10am) had delicious pastries (also I think from Southold General), cereal, yogurt and fruit, juices, coffee, and tea. The friendly staff also made complimentary lattes, cappuccinos, or espresso, and were quick to clean up and ask if they could get us anything else. The bar and lounge area had a lovely view of the water and I spent a morning reading and enjoying the view. We didn't have a chance to use the fire pit or sit out on the adirondacks to watch the boats, but maybe next time. Overall, I'd highly recommend!
