Staff answered all questions and took care of anything needed. The surroundings were beautiful. Super clean as well. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it would be nice if the bathrooms were air conditioned. Other than that, it all was a 5 Star!

They run twice a day, early in the morning and at 1pm. The first time, I followed the tides and took the early trip. I caught a cold. The afternoon trip is where its at. The fish are just "hangry" for bait and want to be on your hook. Lets back up. First you MUST make a reservation. You drove thru the Hamptons to get here. And yes, in East Hampton the police were giving you the stink eye for driving 31mph in a 30mph zone. How would you like to finally get to the pier only to be told the boat is full?? My buddy brought his fishing gear but the boat provides you with rods/reels/bait. All you have to do is walk on board and start fishing. There is a bathroom on board, no worries Wear good boat shoes, the deck is slippery Once the boat takes off its on! Montauk point has the best fishing on Long Island. I always catch something cool as well as see different fish being caught. The fish are in a migratory path, trust me its a fish target rich environment. One of the little kids caught a baby shark! That little human eating sucka, he was thrown back to get real big. My wife & I are with our good friends. My buddy is talking all this smack, I'm a fisherman and I'm gonna do this and that. Yeah... a real pocket fisherman. Here's the end result: On this trip, I caught the most fish On this trip, I caught the biggest fish On this trip, I caught the sexiest fish The girls, each caught fish. My buddy? Nada... We had a lot of fish! Somehow, the fishing pool which cost a buck a person? No one was chosen the winner. I mean, I just want bragging rights at the this point. The $1 a person for the fish pool just went away. No announcement was made saying three cheers for Billy Salts! (I have a secret, its what Fredo from The Godfather did..) We gave these guys a huge tip, they fillet our fish nicely. It was kinda like a shell game with the fish in the buckets, the really big ones at the end were on the dock. Im not sure what happened, in the end we did have a lot of fish meat for both families. The crew was helpful, the boat was pretty nice and the captain knew where to hit the fishing hotspots. We took an afternoon charter as a group of six, there were a total of 30 people fishing on the boat (I think!). Kathy & Captain Mike are SO sweet. We didn't catch anything to bring home (caught some throw-backs), but we still had such a blast! Don't hesitate to make a reservation (they're also completely flexible if you need to change the date, time or number of people). $50 per adult, $35 per kid under 12 plus tip. So worth it!!!

His large boat is extremely comfortable and takes around six people, I cannot think of a better way to spend a couple of hours, in the luxury of a beautiful boat enjoying the magnificent waters of the East End. My friend and I booked the charter for a two hour trip, Captain John was very accommodating and took us at the last minute, and it was the highlight of our stay on Shelter Island. I highly recommend booking Tubby's charters, you won't be sorry! We are already planning a repeat trip with a group of friends as soon as Captain John has space to take us as he is very fully booked as many people go back for return trips year after year.
