Wine Flights!! Beekeeper Laura. Husband makes the wines
    Lawrence C.

Beekeeper Laura knows so much about bees and honey production, that it's worth the $12 for the wine flight of 6+1. It's great to interact with this family of wine and honey makers. Her pooch Beasly is adorable. So much so that her husband made a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merot called Beasley's Blend. It's truly a wonder how much Laura knows her craft. Reasons to go here: 1) meet and be greeted by sleepy Beasley 2) learn about beekeeping and hear Laura's mini lecture 3) buy a flight of wine 4) buy a sample of honey Note: If your primary purchase is honey, you may walk away with a tiny purchase depending on her bee production 5) support a wonderful family business with character and class.

Wines are still very good with a bigger selection since the last time I was here. We did a flight of 6 tasting with the added bonus of a seventh courtesy of Laura and Beasley. Beasley looked a bit tired but it was hot out and the tasting room was very busy. We enjoyed all of the wines especially the Gewurztraminer with a distinct lychee flavor but not too sweet and the Beasley blend 60% cab franc and 40% Merlot. I asked Laura about the current type of bees she is raising and she told me that she tried the Russian bees but they are nasty and like to sting and switched to Italian bees which are more laid back and friendly. Now I know that Laura has a sense of humor and thought she was busting my chops but after I left I googled Russian and Italian bees and there is such a thing. If she told me that the Italian bees drink wine and the Russians only drink Vodka then I would be somewhat skeptical. If you have any questions about bees don't hesitate to ask. She is also doing work with Monarch butterflies and has some caterpillars in terrariums that you could view. Always an interesting time and something new to learn at Coffee Pot Cellars.

Lovely gem of a place! It is one of those quaint shops that make you feel right at home. I was immediately greeted by Beasley, an adorable pug and Laura, the shop owner. Both were friendly, and Laura was very helpful and kind. I enjoyed Beasley's blend, but Laura's homemade black raspberry jam is worth the drive. Add in a cute wrap around porch and a dinosaur made out of wine corks=Coffee Pot is not to be missed!

    Beasley's Blend! My Favorite!

Love this place! We've been here before and have come back numerous times. The wine is excellent. I love their new cider and honey sparkling wine! Light and vibrant with a hint of honey. Different but GOOD! I'm a favorite of the Beasley's Blend. Named after the dog (which I'm a sucker for) but not a heavy red with lots of flavor. The Merlot is also great and lighter than Beasley's blend.

Spent a day touring the north fork wineries and visited Coffee Pot on the recommendation of another winery we visited. It's a tiny, quaint location right on the main road. We walked in and were greeted by Laura one of the co-owners who happens to be a bee keeper. Her husband Adam joined us and explained how he has been a wine maker for years and finally decided to open their own place a year ago. We happened to be there on their 1 year anniversary and they were so thankful we were there. For $7 we got to try 4 of their wines - 2 whites - a Chardonnay and a Sauvignon Blanc and two reds - a merlot and a red blend. All four were fabulous but I liked the Sauvignon Blanc best. In addition to wines, they have different hand made products made from the bees - honey, beeswax candles, lip balm, jams. I left with a bottle of wine, a lip balm and a wonderful solid lotion bar - it's amazing!. Really pretty tasting room too!

The wine tasting room run by wine maker husband and beekeeper wife. There are various honey bee product once you step inside of the tasting room. Husband is a winemaker at osphire vineyard in Long Island, this is his own stuff. They don't have their own vineyard, get grapes from other vineyards. Wife who was helping wine tasting was really helpful and personal. Tasting fee is reasonable between $8-10. Tasting room itself was very clean and welcoming. They have giant winenosor in front of tasting room to put wine corks from this winery. I tasted their variety, my favorite was 2010 maritage. Second best I liked there was Gewürztraminer, it was dry and had lots of aroma. Doesn't have many variety of wine but it's still very potential which can grow bigger. This is still small and new winery around this area, please drop by to taste some wine and have little chat with the proprietors.

Coffee Pot Cellars has a delightful wine portfolio of which my favorites are their Meritage, Merlot, and Sauvignon blanc. Everything they make is absolutely delicious! They also have an easy wine club and a tasting room filled with fun stuff ranging from bee keeping products (the owners also have a bee keeping business and Laura even gave a TED talk on the subject) to fun wine things. Coffee Pot Cellars tasting room can get busy. Every time we visit, we wind up meeting new people, getting caught up in conversation and wine.

Wonderful wines!! A flavor for everyone. Fyi named coffee pot because the bottom part of the light house looks like one. Love it worth the stop. They import their wines from a local vineyard and the wine master learned his trade from osprey dominion.

This is a tasting room right on 25. We stopped in because we saw there was a dog there made famous by a wine publication spread on dogs of the wineries. Beasley is his name and he is a black pug. He was not there today sadly. The wines weren't bad at all. Try Beasleys Blend named after the dog. It's a red blend. They also keep bees and advocate for saving the pollinators. There is a neat little indoor bee box with a glass wall and you can see the bees hard at work. The lady there is very nice and friendly. There is a wineasairous outside made of wine corks. It's a work in progress but an adorable idea. We may add a cork to it.

Nice family spot with plenty of outdoor seating, but the wine was thin in flavor and overall forgettable.

It's a shame because the grounds are beautiful, the staff that sat and served were very friendly. I was really looking forward to this visit. In email I was sent the menu, reservation policy, and a form to fill out with the option to pre order the mixed flight ($30 per person) or antipasto ahead of time. I had confirmed in written email that I had a group of 8 and I filled out the form for "number of guests at $30 per person" as 1. Everyone else in my group planned to order from the regular menu and do a couple of bottles for the table. When I arrived it was very disorganized and understaffed, with a big wait time to be seated and served. We were sitting for maybe a half hour before someone addressed us. When they did, they came out with 8 sets of the mixed flights! I said that I filled it out for 1 and that everyone else was ordering from the menu. So she went back to check with the manager, Julie. Before Julie even spoke I could feel a combative energy when approaching me. She said she "assumed" the 1 that I put for the mixed flight was "a typo" and couldn't respond to me as to why she didn't communicate the confusion. She said the group number applies to the number of flights. She said she can't just have everyone else "sitting around" and I assured her that everyone was getting something from the regular menu. She said that she never had a problem before and asked me if I even read the information that was sent to me. So basically if you do a group reservation, everyone is forced to do the mixed flight. Even if someone else wants the red flight which is not an option to pre order. She said we would need to order the mixed flights first to be able to order a bottle from the regular menu. No where did it say any of this ANYWHERE on this information sheet. I did in fact read it multiple times and had my group read it before making reservations. After going back and forth with me, she then says "you know what, do whatever you want to do so you can have a good day" very passive aggressively as if I offended her and walks away. Her tone was extremely condescending. My whole group was in shock and very uncomfortable. At this point we had been here for an hour and we were deciding what to do from here. The waitress came back and asked what we wanted to do and I said I wasn't sure because I am uncomfortable with how I was spoken to. She was very sweet and was understanding. She told us whatever we wanted to do if we wanted to stay, we can let her know what we want, which put us more at ease. I asked her for a couple of minutes and she said no problem just to grab her since she's all around. We couldn't find her after that and decided to leave. As a customer, I am appalled by the behavior of the manager. This was not professional or appropriate conduct. I feel for the staff who seem to be doing their best with the given situation.

IMO, that may just be the best (if less scenic/festive...) way to visit a winery!! No lines, no crowds, and TONS of attention/inside info from the knowledgeable bartender (orig. from Guatemala, wish I remembered her name!!) My brother, S.I.L. and I each ordered flights... So many great choices!! I'm a white/rose fan, and I definitely had plenty of options. We shared cheese and crackers, and learned a lot not only about the winery and its history, but about the whole region as well. I loved the "insider" info!! Though I grew up on Long Island, this was my first trip out this way, and Pindar was a great first spot to visit!! Hoping this will be my first visit of many out to this wonderful "neck of the woods!!" Cheers!!! ENJOY...
