I came here as part of a wine bus tour. This was our second stop and my favorite of the three wineries we visited. When we arrived, one of the owners gave a brief history of the vineyard and then provided a description of each of the wines in the tasting. We sat at large tables and the tasting flight was pre-poured before we arrived. They also served packaged charcuterie meals that included prosciutto, mozzarella, and crackers. Not the highest quality, but still a nice touch. After the tasting, we bought bottles of wine. I loved their La Tavola wine which had a unique, juicy sweetness. Note that the prices are higher if you drink the wine at the vineyard rather than buying to go. They have a second floor balcony with a gorgeous view of the sprawling vineyards below. read more

The Quick: Old school Italian hospitality at this beautiful villa esc vineyard on the North Fork. The best food I've had at a vineyard, and I've been to most of them at this point. Their antipasto platter is fantastic and even had some vegan options. Go for the reserve wine it's the best and worth the extra price tag. read more

The service here was great. We did a wine tour and I ended up purchasing some rosé which is unusual for me. The La Tavola was my favorite and while it was lightly sweet it was also crisp. The ladies were attentive while my table ordered a couple of things. I was also offered a port sample but it was too sweet for me. What a beautiful vineyard. I was in awe of this place. The barrel made tables and bar were so cool. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside because there was a great breeze and we wanted to take it all in. A beautiful view of the vineyard and sitting around the table with family drinking wine. What more could you ask for? ... Don't answer that. Haha The wine was very good. Out of the three vineyards we went to this was my favorite. Their red wine was so tasty and smooth. Even my brother who doesn't drink wine had a few glasses. We did buy a few snacks. Pretzels, onion dip, sweet potato chips, and another spread (can't remember). Everything was good. Well the sweet potato chips were bland. The waitress brought over a package of crackers in case we wanted them. Well we didn't ask for them nor did we open them yet she charged them to the tab! I thought that was pretty crappy. So beware of the extra $$ they are trying to make by dropping items off. Be sure to say no and have them removed or you will pay for them. Not cool. I would drop them by a star but their wine was awesome. I didn't want to put the vineyard down for bad business practice that I will assume the waitress did on her own. read more

As part of my super bowl tradition i went to the North Fork of Long Island to drink wine and forget my team isn't playing. I have driven by Raphael a few times. Well more than a few. So when i stopped here. I thought i had been here before. But i was mistaken. The winery is beautiful. The room is very big and has a great feel to it Our waiter was super nice. My daughter had her wedding reception here on October 19, 2024. From start to finish, EVERYTHING was exceptional. The food, the service, the ambiance, and the magnificent vineyard could not have been more perfect that day. Guests are still calling us to say they had the best food ever at Raphael and the most fun time ever at a wedding. Lisa was fantastic to work with during the planning process. She is professional and beyond competent, yet very personable and fun to work with. I can't say enough good things about Lisa! Julie (I believe one of the owners) was equally wonderful. She was always warm and welcoming and answered all questions thoroughly. They and the entire staff were incredible on the big day! If you are planning a wedding, I highly recommend Raphael. The company brags to be so special and full of concern for the way wine is produced but they have no people skills. There was absolutely no introduction to the wines. And when we asked for a little background, the information was rushed. Very disappointing. I brought 10 people and we arrived a little early. They waited for the last second before noon to open the door. Just tactless and not showing any enthusiasm for our visit! The wines were already poured on the table. Kind of weird to do it this way. Second tour of the day! This place is very nice, huge, & fancy as the words were used to describe to us. So huge that they even arrange weddings here. The vineyard is beyond your average size, the views are breathtaking. One of the staff member's was our spokes person & he was very informative and friendly. As one of our tour guide's had mentioned, here they sell a delicious rosé, which we had the advantage of purchasing a bottle or a case to go! Very beautiful grounds ... this place has a Mediterranean feel to the architecture. Inside it feels very log cabin- ish . Actually it reminded me of the Ole Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park - my friend that went there with me also said the same thing This place is a more busy vineyard. Inside was also loud and social. There was a band playing upbeat music .like I said it's more social than relaxing . There is an outside patio to sit as well as under a pergola. The view of the vineyards are GORG! Children were running around. There are good options like pizza etc that you can buy here with your wine . I found this wine at the local wine store. Drank it for a month before I realized it wasn't from California! Having just moved to Lido Beach, we took a drive. Reservations only for tasting. We already knew how it tasted and went for a mixed case. Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Franc and a Merlot. It's good not to pay retail! One of the few wineries on the North Fork that actually remind me of Napa/ Sonoma. Beautiful. Already a fan of the Sauvignon so I can't wait to try the rest. Will be back. read more

We were so excited to visit Raphael, we walked in and tables were plentiful, but they put us into this giant, empty room where events are held. There were 4 of us and the hostess put us at a table for 16. Like a Sweet 16 without the actual party. We were given Plastic bottled water, plastic forks and knives, my Sangria was presented in a plastic to-go cup. "I thought, am I being punked?!" The table cloth and seats were filthy with crumbs from the night before. There were maybe 3 other groups in this massive room all looking around as if they couldn't figure out why they were selected for the in the misfit patron area and being served like were literally taking everything to go except the two glasses of wine. read more

Throughout the whole wedding planning process (during a pandemic nonetheless and one postponement later). They where extremely accommodating and understanding of our strugles having to postpone. They where even kind enough to send over custom wine glasses on our original wedding day! Two the FOOD was AMAZING!!! I had several people who have been to weddings or have had their wedding at Raphael's tell me how amazing the food was before my tasting. Boy they did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and there was so much to choose from not one person left hungry! Three not only was our wedding the best day of our Lives. I had several of my guest come up to us personally and just say how amazing all the staff was. How great the wine is and over all that they had never been to a wedding venue so unique before. I came here pre-covid and have wanted to right a review for a while now. My husband and I were taking a bike ride on the north fork (we live nearby) and we decided to stop here. He jokingly said "when we walk in, the record is going to scratch" because we were dressed in bicycling attire. (I thought I looked pretty cute, lol). The hostess literally looked us up and down and asked what we wanted. She said all tables were reservation only (not the most welcoming). Her lack of bedside manner and overall rude/judgmental looks and tone really put us off. After looking around, we turned and decided to go elsewhere. She then SHOUTED "what happened?! Where are you going?!" My husband said "we're keeping it moving" and she screamed "WHY!!" With a look on her face like we did something wrong. Now, I hate to rate an establishment on one person but I believe the hostess (first person who greets you) should be kind, welcoming, not look you up and down, and at least pretend to be accommodating rather than making you feel like you're a bother. Service was good, they had food available which we ordered the cheese plate and flatbread. Portions are small though, but reasonable priced . If you do a tasting, you have to do it at the bar, as is true of some other vineyards. I prefer to sit down, rather than stand The Whole time. We sat at a table and got bottles. I have been to Raphael several times in the last several years. I have always been impressed with the quality and variety of their wines. The food offerings are excellent and very fresh. Their staff is professional and welcoming. The building is in a Tuscan style with a lot of post and beam construction and feels perfect for afternoon tasting with friends. They have wine tastings at the bar and seating reserved for food and if you know which bottle of wine you'd like to have. Only saw one bathroom for each gender while I was there. Upon arrival, there was a longer line for guys than girls which is usually the opposite but still uncool. The ladies bath was nice though... The staff seem informed and friendly. Raphael is my new favorite vineyard on Long Island. Some friends and I took a trip to the east end of Long Island this past weekend to explore some vineyards, and Raphael's was one that came highly recommended to us. Between the incredible views, the gorgeous architecture, the pleasant atmosphere, the abundant seating, the friendly service, and of course the terrific wine, Raphael is hard to beat. Dare I say you could probably end up spending the day here (all they'd need would be some lunch options and you'd be all set). When you pull up the driveway, you are greeted by a beautiful entrance to the vineyard, complete with gorgeous flowers and even a picturesque fountain. It really makes you feel like you're arriving someplace luxurious. Walking inside, it's hard not to stare at the classic architecture, which almost feels like a miniature castle. Inside, you'll find a large circular bar, two large rooms, a gift shop, and [on the day we visited] live music playing acoustic versions of classic billboard hits. It really is a classy place! Out back, you'll find a gorgeous covered patio offering plenty of seating for those crisp autumn afternoons (like the day we visited). The views are beautiful as well! Let's talk about the wine. On this last trip, each of us opted for a flight of 4 wines. Two members of the group tried the sweet wine flight, while I chose the premium red flight, which included a 2012 Petit Verdot Reserve, 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013 Cabernet Franc Reserve and 2014 Primo Reserve. Of the 4, the Cabernet Sauvignon was definitely my favorite. The runner-up was the Cabernet Franc, which was sweet and earthy. The other two were also very good, both offering a very earthy flavor. The other members of the group really enjoyed their wines as well (although the Ports were a little too sweet even for the sweet-wine drinkers). Additionally, the service here is terrific. Every employee we encountered was incredibly friendly and very helpful at offering suggestions, especially our sommelier, Jill. Overall, we were all very impressed with Raphael and mutually agreed it was our favorite stop of the day. I would definitely recommend a visit! read more

They're supposed to be dog friendly...and we have a trained service dog with a license for our friend with a disability and we were turned away. This is a 10lb dog for context. The hostess also rolled her eyes at us which is also peculiar. I have only one other 1 star review on yelp so I don't give these out often, but I'm disappointed that licensed service dogs aren't allowed both inside or outside despite previous reviews saying that they were allowed. read more
