On our way to the nearby Cider House, we stopped for lunch at the spacious Riverhead Brew House. Aside from the very weird and NOT user-friendly entrance, we loved this restaurant. The food was great, and were we not stuffed from lunch, we definitely would've gotten some dessert. They all sounded amazing, but we were just too full. This place has a great menu with lots of things that caught my eye. I finally landed on their French Dip, which is one of the best I've had. The meat was ribeye, and it was tender and soft, not to mention moist. The au jus was flavorful and not too salty. The French bread had just enough crunch, but was also soft and easy to bite into. With the melted cheese and caramelized onions, it had amazing flavor!! My grandson and granddaughter split a grilled cheese that looked amazing. My daughter ordered the Bang Bang shrimp tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband ordered a drunken chicken melt, which is essentially chicken parm with vodka sauce. He loved it !! Unfortunately, I don't remember what my son-in-law ordered, nor do I have a photo of it. Oops ! I wished my daughter and her family lived closer to Riverhead cuz I would ask to go here all the time. Went for drinks and apps. Last time I was here was when it was Peconic Bay Brewery. Same layout, hostess stand is by the back door with the patio though. They are part of the LFRG so you can expect the same service. Nice comfy chairs and cute table lamps. I went with the Mango No. 5 which was really great, actually, I had two. My husband went with a flight. For apps we did the Korean BBQ and the nachos grandes. The nachos were really great! Tasted homemade. Stuffed and happy! Outdoor patio looks great to enjoy during great weather. Today was a very windy cloudy day, even though some are enjoying it outside. read more

The new owner is a joke. Has no clue how run a business, other than run it in the ground. My wife and I live in town and RBH was one of our "go to" places. Great beer, great food, and most of all great employees who made you feel at home. Lenny was the Security that kept the place from getting out of hand. Super nice guy who always greeted us with a smile, hello and pleasant conversation. I am disabled and he would help me out to my car all the time. But all the employees are great. This place caught my eye on Instagram for a while, but since it's over an hour away, I hadn't had the chance to visit--until I happened to be nearby and decided to stop in. I really wish it was closer because this brewery has an inviting, clean, and modern vibe, with both indoor and outdoor seating right across from the river. The menu is extensive, making it tough to choose, but we finally settled on the snack wrap, fried pickles, and tuna wonton tacos. The presentation of all the dishes was impressive. As for the taste, I'd rate everything around 3.5 out of 5. The fried pickles were good, though we're tough critics since it's our favorite appetizer and we order it whenever it's available. The batter was a bit different from what we're used to--not bad, just not my top pick. The tuna wonton tacos were flavorful, especially with the seaweed salad on top, but the mayonnaise was a bit unexpected and threw off the taste a little bit. I would have preferred some type of Asian style sauce on them. The snack wrap was tasty but lacking some type of dressing. I wish we would have ordered some pizzas because to try too because the options looked great but I guess we'll have to save that for next time! 5+ stars! My friend and I came here for lunch. On Thursday's they have $25 lobster rolls; hot or cold. The lobster roll was so delicious and plentiful! It came with fries that were nice and crisp. For beer, I had the Riverhead Summer Ale. Super refreshing and paired nicely with the lobster roll. Service was nice. I don't recall our waitress' name (I don't think she told us), but she was nice and checked in with us often. The brewery itself is nice and big. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well as those big oversized games. I'd definitely return! The rest of the food menu sounded so good. read more

Came here with my mom and son after we had dinner nearby because we saw the snores dessert on internet. I had the rose sangria and my mom had a smoky tequila drink. We didn't love our drinks but I did exchange mine for regular rose and they didn't charge an additional cost. The smores were delicious and the churro donuts! We had so much fun doing this. I have been meaning to try this place but with a newborn, I haven't had the chance until today. We stop by for lunch and it was absolutely great. Drew our waiter was super nice and understanding of our needs with a toddler. We ordered the passionate and their cider for first round, along with the truffle pizza, chopped Philly cheese, and kids chicken &fries. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had more cider and I wanted to try their vanilla porter but they ran out. Had Guinness Irish stout as sub. We weren't rushed and I liked that. The tables were nicely spaced out so its not like you have others on top of each other and kid friendly if you know what I mean. Overall, loved the visit and definitely will be back. I think the negative reviews about service might be those off ones bad experience if you had a bad waiter. We had an amazing one and he was running around attending tables inside and outside. Now named moon fish brewery is an absolute joke. Ordered food only to eat it cold because there was no clean silverware in the whole restaurant. Ultimately had to go behind the hostess stand myself and get my own silverware and napkins. On top of that they add gratuity automatically to a party of four. No wonder the server did a terrible job, he doesn't care making his tip automatically. Place was shot, do not go. read more

I am so happy to have found the new location of Lilly Flamagan's new restaurant the Riverhead Brew House! I am a huge fan of their Palate Brew House so when I heard that they opened closer to home (Hampton Bays) this was very exciting news. Their food and selections are amazing among their selections of beer and cocktails. We always enjoy their huge pretzel served with 3 sauces (cheese, mustard and if I recall correctly, a spicy horse radish sauce?). We love the fig and pig pizza, amazing. Their burgers are awesome as well as the tacos and I particularly love the French dip! They offer happy hour specials (don't remember the times and days but I will say after 3pm. I don't want to quote incorrect info. I do know that they have $5 off most apps on the menu (not all) and their taco Tuesday is a great deal as well. Awesome wings (bone in or boneless) with a choice of sauces and seasoning. The service is awesome and everyone has a great personality! So glad I decided to come to this place for dinner! I haven't stopped talking about it since I went recently. As soon as I walked in, it was all decorated for Halloween with some areas to take pictures by. It's a huge space outside with lots of tables, couches, fire pits that are overlooking the water. So pretty! Inside the place is huge as well with lots of tables and a nice bar! My boyfriend and I decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders were all soo sweet and accommodating to us and recommended so many great food options as well as the beer selections. We both got a beer for the autumn season. The beers were delicious! We ordered the Drunken Burrata Pizza, Korean Short Rib Eggrolls and the Cheesy Bacon Chicken Quesadillas. All the food was absolutely delicious and unique!! We went for drinks and dessert. I ordered the smoke show. It says it's sweet then spicy. All I tasted was bitter and sour. My daughter ordered the daisy buchanan. She sent it back for a plain rose which was ugh. However, the reason we went was for the s'mores. They were everything plus. They brought out a small container with a nice flame and on the plate, were a generous amount of marshmallows, chocolate candy, and graham crackers. It was so much fun making our own s'mores. And delicious too. I also want to mention the churro donuts were amazing. They were covered with sugar and cinnamon and then drizzled with chocolate. They came with a caramel and chocolate dipping sauce. Love, love, love! For me, that was my favorite. We watched the food coming out and it all looked delicious. Really enjoyed RBH. Word of advice, it's just down the road from Main St, so in case you get confused looking for it like I did lol. The food all looked incredible. Ended up getting a Cesar salad and pretzel and the pineapple cider from riverhead ciderhouse. They've got a beautiful indoor space and a nice big patio right by the river walk. Wanted to like the place so bad since we love the restaurant/bar in Farmingdale that's part of the same family but couldn't. Horrible service. A million servers, great, but when they're all flirting with each other at the front/behind the bar/kitchen, it's pointless to have so many. Couldn't get refills on water or another beer if we tried, and had to pretty much beg to pay the overpriced bill when no one came to get it. Think I'll pace next time we're in the area. Also as a "brew co," I think the beer menu needs tweaking/more options, especially when you have North Fork Brewing down the block giving you a run for your money. read more

Waiters/staff more concerned with talking at hostess stand or behind the bar rather than accommodating guests. Not offered a second round of drinks, not checked on while eating the food, and we had to bring our bill up to them in order to get closed out. We went with our 15 month old and had to find our own high chair and luckily we brought our own water because nothing was offered for her. Multiple tables looked to be suffering the same fate. So... we've had great experience here in the past, but believe it's under new ownership/management and wow; it's really gone down hill. Seated immediately with menus, but waited 20 mins and then had to ASK for server; still took 10 more minutes to get a server. ordered everything (drink and food) at once waited 15 more minutes to get a draft beer and now we're another 25 and counting for some food. I stopped by here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and my friends and I sat at the bar for food and drinks. The food and drinks were good however, the main bartender who had the light blue hair was very unfriendly to us for some reason. My second time here, everyone was very friendly. We sat outside for the ambiance and it was really nice overlooking the river. I thought it was very sweet that one of the staff, Lenny noticed that my purse fell off the chair and picked it up so it didn't sit on the floor. Our waitress was Hailey and she was very sweet, informative and accommodating. The inside ambiance is just as nice, music is not too loud and I love the little lamps on the table for soft lighting. We also spoke with the manager Anthony and he was very kind and profession. At the end of the night we made our way the bar and Matt the bartender was so friendly and fun! Riverhead Brewhouse is so beautiful inside and out! It is exactly what riverhead needed. Their specials change daily. The food is incredible. The wings and pizzas are my personal favorite. Their freshly brewed beers are great. The iron pier ipa is my go to, but their rotating seasonal beers have been good as well. Last summer was beautiful on their outside patio right on the river. I really wanted to like this place. The location is adorable, right in front of a cute little pond with ducks in it. It has a huge patio which looked like to could be so much fun in the summertime but the service was horrible. They had servers all over the place but for some reason, we couldn't get anything in a timely fashion and looking around people that came in before us was being served before us. We had a spill at our table and no one came to try to help clean it up. We had to go to empty tables to take the napkins off of them to use for the spill. When they did come over, they literally left the floor and the table still wet with soda. We had a big enough table the person sitting on that end just moved to another seat. When it was time to get the bill, it took so long that we were literally standing up waiting...smh...service like this could close a place down. So, my husband and I were out in Riverhead and decided to check out Riverhead Brew House. We live about 35 minutes away so it was definitely a treat. We sat down at a lovely table and recognized our server Hannah immediately. We knew her from The Wharf in Oakdale, and she was just as sweet as we remembered. We ordered the drunken burrata pizza and boneless wings, plus tried some beers. The pumpkin was our favorite, especially with the cinnamon at the top.
