Been wanting to dine here for a long time & it did not disappoint. I *do* wish that the fall menu was available, being that it was October 1st - just because I had seen photos of what was going to be on it, but honestly, everything we got was sublime. Our waitress was wonderful. To start, we got there lobster fritters & jamesport baked Brie which were both so flavorful and the flavors were perfectly balanced. We shared the duck confit & stuffed summer squash & I am now determined to make that squash at home! Also had butternut beer for the first time and woah. It rivaled my favorite seasonal pumpkin beer! Dimon Estate - Lobster fritters & baked brie - New American Near Me - Jamesport, New York

I used to go to this restaurant when it was the Jamesport Manor Inn and loved it. It's been a while since we've been back and decided to try it since it is now Dimon's. We went out for a nice dinner with another couple and our friend has to be sure there are gluten free items on the menu. When I called to check, the woman on the phone, who was so nice and I wish I remembered her name, said that they had gluten free options, and they can also change some of the entrees to be gluten free. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and seated in their very beautiful dining area near the outside patio. It was too hot to eat outside, but at least we got to see the beautiful outside area, which we will definitely check out when the weather is nicer. When we got to our table we met our awesome server Kim, who helped our friend with the menu and gluten free options. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and patient with all of us and our questions. When the drinks and apps came out, they were absolutely delicious. Kim is also an awesome bartender and her drinks were perfect! The apps I would recommend are the scallops, shrimp, fried mozzarella, and the mussels. Yes, we had them all and they were awesome! When our entrees arrived they were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. Everything we ate here from the apps to our desserts were outstanding! When we were done with dinner, we asked about exploring the upstairs since it looked very interesting and we were curious about it when we first walked in. Kim encouraged us to go explore, even though they were closing, and we were so happy we did. Restaurant Week Menu 2023 I didn't understand why the Jamesport Manor closed. The estate was beautifully restored and the food being served was top notch. I'm not sure what changed internally but it's reopened and the Dimon family name is back on the house. Huzza! Pulling up to the Dimon Estate, it was a pleasurable drive from Port Jefferson. The country estate is situated between farmland, the grounds are immaculate. During the summer, there is an outdoor patio but I'm not sure if the Dimon Estate uses this area for private events. My wife and I pull up to this gorgeous estate. We walk to the host stand and are seated at a cozy two top. We're given menus and I see the drink list is substantial. I'd like to have a cocktail to start and then a glass of wine with dinner but somehow didn't happen. I ordered my wife a Sangria and for myself I ordered The John Dimon Martini. Made with Hangar One Smoke Pointe Vodka and served with one local Goodale Farm's cheese stuffed olive. Only one olive but man that olive was packed with flavor. This is the reason why I chose to take my wife on a date to the Dimon Estate, the menu has some great dishes. I know my wife will zero in on the beet salad, but wants to taste the Brie. I'll pass on the stuffed clams and order the brie. The Beet Salad was amazing! Made with Goat Cheese, Pistachios, Bacon and Blood Oranges. She could of ordered this dish by itself and been happy. The Jamesport Fried Cranberry Brie was a game changer. Inside the brie were cranberries and was topped with a Truffle Honey. All of this deliciousness with served with a perfect toasted ciabatta crostini. So far so good right? Amazing drinks and starters. Here's where it all goes south. Our waitress, she had a slight edge. While we're filling our drink order, my wife asked if she can substitute the whipped potatoes from the Fluke entree for another vegetable. Our waitress said maybe we can double up on the Garlic Broccoli Rabe. After drinks were served and the waitress is taking our order, my wife asked again. Can I substitute the whipped potatoes and another vegetable, I'd like asparagus please. Were told: I can serve you asparagus but it will cost you $8. It's your choice not mine. What does that even mean? Now my wife is all pissy and said don't serve the whipped potatoes, please keep it off my plate. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs (supplemental Cost +$6) with Polenta and roasted asparagus (???) ,and topped with a Red Wine Demi. My short ribs were really good, no complaints. I look over at my wife, she liked the fluke but her mood is off. Oh and that local Long Island wine I wanted with dinner? We never saw our waitress, it would have been nice to have that wine with my meal. Desserts, my bread pudding was award winning. The Lenz Late Harvest Chardonnay Caramel Sauce was amazing. My wife took a bite of the cheesecake and wanted to leave. **Chef Chris, we went to Grana last week and had their beet salad. Your beet salad was another level. We loved what was served to us last night and we traveled far to dine here. Our waitress didn't do her job properly and we left in a sour mood. read more

What use to be the Jamesport Manor is now the Dimon Estate. And although I've never been to the Jamesport Manor, Dimon Estate fits perfectly in to the neighborhood, offering an amazing menu with seasonal and delicious items. It was a bit on the quiet side when we went, but I was happy that we made a reservation. I can see this spot booking up quickly. The outside was gorgeous and they had an amazing outdoor patio. But we did not want any distractions so we sat indoors. The inside is just as beautiful with a traditional, but not dated, decor. Every part of the meal was delightful, including the cocktail. The baked Brie and burratini were a great way to start. The fluke was cooked perfectly. The highlight of the whole meal were the tequila lime raviolis. Unique and one of my favorite most recent meals. I would go running there to try this dish before it leaves their seasonal menu. read more

Great local place. Food is excellent, service is friendly n courteous. We sat at charming outdoor seating. Buratini is nice but a small app. Duck wings I hear is very good ( I dont eat poultry). Oysters were nice clean n fresh. The only sparkling water they had Fillet for $12! Never heard of it. It was good but not worth $12. Steak was very good, halibut was nicely prepared seasoned well, my tuna was delicious, crispy outside n moist inside. I will def come back when I'm back in the area. It's very good eats. read more

Made a 630pm reservation for 4 on Monday night of Restaurant Week. Honestly chose this restaurant because of the prix fixe menu choices. We arrived a little early and started with Jen in the bar who made great drink recommendations and was very friendly and attentive. We moved to our table and ordered one of each appetizer, baked stuff clams, baked brie, Ceasar salad and beet salad. We were pleased with all but found the clams to be tasty and moist but a little too smoky. Each of us then family styled our own meals of fried panko fluke, orreacheta bolognese, braised short rib and bell and evans 1/2 chicken. Everything was hot, delicious and plentiful. Service was excellent, we even got a visit by the chef. We look forward to returning again, maybe for happy hour and bar special food items. Enjoy! read more

Visited restaurant week. Friday night. Waited at bar much longer than our one drink. Then brought upstairs by bartender and waited extended amount of time before ordering a drink and placing order. My friend and I ordered Cesare salad which was too salty to eat. We both ordered the shrimp scampi but mine was watery and hers was too thick. While eating we overheard they were already out of cheesecake. By the time someone finally returned we just asked for the check. I wanted to speak to a manager but when we left the downstairs was a ghost town. Not a soul around. Terribly understaffed and inconsistent food. Very disappointed. read more

Seeing this beautiful historical home ,which was transformed into a restaurant, featured on News 12 sparked my interest! It was featured as part of restaurant week. Quaint ambiance. Like stepping back in time. The incredible work and love put into restoring this homes original beauty shows. Our server Kayla was outstanding! Sweet, attentive and endearing. Our food was outstanding from start to finish. Braised short ribs melted in my mouth. Bread pudding dessert was the perfect ending for a savory meal. On June 1, 2024 we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with 30 friends and family along with 6 children 4 to 14 years old. We could not be happier with all aspects of this joyful gathering. The food was excellent and the waitstaff did an outstanding job taking care of our guests. A special thank you to Matt Kar owner and chef. This place has been on my bucket list for some time now. I remember the old Jamesport Manor 35 years ago. The storyline back then was an old sea captain's house complete with a widow's watch. It was a cool place well it was dark inside a little musty and the outside needed TLC but they did make a killer roast duck. Fast forward and Matt Kar from Jamesport Country Kitchen came to its rescue and rebuilt a beautiful restaurant. Matt's food has always been on point and he must be a good teacher because his son Chris puts out the same quality dishes. It took me a while on the internet to see when and if the place is still open. It is no longer called Jamesport Manon but instead Dimon Estate. The trouble is if one was to google Jamesport Manor it mentioned nothing about Dimon or a forwarding link. The contact page says they are closed for the winter. Small things but.... Anyway, the food and vibe were great. The duck drumettes were so flavorful and I thought a decent size portion. Halibut was also tasty, perfectly cooked, and accompanied by 5 gnocchi (it's fine dining) My seafood rigatoni was bowl-licking good. The few lobster bites in the seafood pasta might not have been plentiful but they were certainly memorable. Great dish! It's 2022, post covid, Putin, whatever and $30-$45 entrees are unfortunately the norm. Try Dimon Estate, it's worth it, and if you wear a Clemson Tiger shirt you just might get a high five from the owner. read more

So we went to Dimon Estates last night and it was ok. We left hungry and the service was ok because I think they're under staff. The portions are small. We had the filet minion and although the meat was good there was a small amount of potatoes and a small amount of vegetables on the plate and it came out cold. Our waitress was no where to be found when we needed her and took forever to come back. Devon who was not our waitress but a waitress on the floor for other tables was lovely and came to our table to see what we needed. Her personality was lovely and we so wished she was our waitress instead of who we had. It would have made the experience better. The cost of food is expensive enough and you want to leave going out to dinner full which we did not. We probably won't ever be back because for the money it is not worth it. read more

We came for dinner here last Saturday 7/2, when we couldn't get a reservation at any good. restaurant by the water and we were so happy that we did. The food and ambiance here is magnificent! My daughter and I had the seafood pasta, my husband had the duck and my son in law the filet mignon. Plus they offer the best chicken fingers and French fries for little ones as an option. We each left wondering why we hadn't found this gem of a restaurant sooner and happy that we finally did. Highly recommend! read more

It's a beautiful place- the grounds, the house, the history, nicely appointed inside. The food was outstanding. Service on point.

This restaurant is a (Diamond)! We come here often and travel about 45 minutes to get here and it's so worth it. We get there early to have a drink with Jen at the bar who makes amazing drinks.. ( Hi Jen ). When you walk through the doors you are welcomed right away. When you are seated the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.. Food is amazing and the owner is also one of the chefs which you know everything is perfect. We end up ordering 3-4 appetizers because honestly it's hard to pick just one item. Dinners are plated up perfectly and the taste makes you want to lick the plate. Staff walk around seeing if we needed anything checking on us which is great. If you have been here before you know how amazing the place is and if you haven't been.. you need to go! 5 Stars across the board. read more

One of the classier restaurants in the area, used to be the Jamesport Manor Inn. Beautiful building and space and a nice outdoor dining area. We ordered fluke and a fish special. Both were delicious, as were our apps. They were accommodating to kids as well. Service was extremely kind, but this place is new and I think they are still getting their feet under them. We've had a string of so-so restaurant experiences lately so our dinner at the Dimon Estate last night was such a welcome relief. It was virtually a perfect dining experience from start to finish. Our server was Crystal who was A+, but to be honest, all the staff members from the busperson to the hosts were all working together so well as a Team. It was so nice to see a staff that was smiley and helpful and happy. Everything we ordered came quick and was absolutely delicious. The Burratini app was amazing, can't wait to get it again, highly recommended. White Chocolate Mouse Cheesecake was perfect. It was such a nice night out, thank you guys! The service was amateurish at best. Soooo slow and discombobulated . I will give this place a second try since the food was so good. Menu changes with the seasons and food is always fresh and tasteful. Atmosphere is cozy yet in summer outside dining is in beautiful gardens and shouldn't be missed. Wait staff is helpful with suggestions and managerial staff is professional and courteous to patrons. All over great experience with every visit. Wow, this place is pretty horrendous. This place would prefer you spread covid or other communicable diseases then accept a cancelled reservation the morning of. My husbands birthday dinner was supposed to be celebrated here and my child was sick so we had to cancel. I notified them as soon as I knew and because it wasn't within their policy window, they wanted to charge me $200! I tried to reason with them so they brought it down to $150. When travelling to the North Fork, stick to one of the many other wonderful establishments with compassionate management(there are so many). This place is a hard pass, not to mention somebody in there is sick because they couldn't possibly cancel a reservation without a steep consequence. read more

First , Micky the hostess was cheerful on the phone and happy to accommodate. The atmosphere was relaxing and clean. We sat outside the music speaker was right behind us and when i asked if it could be lowered they immediately lowered it. frankly the environment outside, green, lush relaxing with the birds singing did not need music at all but i would only say that could be improved, something a little more background like jazz or instrumental. Chrystal was a perfect server leaving nothing undone. the food selection was eclectic and interesting. the prices were high for some people but the entire package made it a value. We had the lobster BLT roll - the ciabatta was perfectly toasted so not a soggy sandwich. the bacon on it was perfect , thin, crispy. the fries were hot and crunchy. Try the Hudson off the drink menu. oh my, a perfect summer drink of belvedere lemon basil vodka and and club soda. the whole package is worth it. Go. one thing i will say was a little off putting was the wooden blocks they serve the food on. i just didn't find it very appetizing. read more

i was looking for a nice place out East to have dinner with my husband for our anniversary. We planned on spending the day visiting local wineries and breweries and I wanted to surprise him with a new place to enjoy dinner. Well, The Dimon Estate in Jamesport did not disappoint!! We both had beet salad to start which was amazing! Followed by Filet Mignon, garlic mashed potatoes, and baby carrots. All delicious! For dessert he had an apple crisp and I had the most delicious gelato I have ever tasted. The servers were friendly and very attentive. At one point, I was having a hot flash (like I usually do at dinner these days) and the GM noticed me fanning myself. She immediately came in and turned the air temp down so the blowers would come on and cool me off! The building has a very historic atmosphere and the prices were very reasonable. We definitely recommend this place when you are looking for a nice meal in Jamesport. read more
