We had a gift certificate and decided to visit last night. Overall, the experience was just okay--not what we had hoped for. For the price of the steak, you really expect the food to be delicious, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The T-bone steak special was extremely tough and difficult to eat, which was disappointing. The baked clams were also a letdown--they were unappetizing, almost like sludge. It's especially disappointing because I remember coming here often as a kid with my parents, and it used to be one of our favorite spots. The quality just doesn't seem to be what it once was. Sadly, based on these experiences, we probably won't be returning for the steak. We've had the burgers and wings for take out and they are great. read more

This was the absolute worst cut of meat Cliff's Elbow Too could serve. The quality of the porter house steak was disgustingly full of sinew. Only half the steak was edible. I saw several other customers who ordered the same Porter house steak finish their meal with the same pile of unedible meat. I will not return. read more

At a time when many eateries out east are trying to be more Manhattan than North Fork, it is wonderful to experience what local really means. First up is the bar. Walking thru the front door you are brought back in time to seeing fishermen, farmers, accountants, and real people enjoying a drink and small talk with each other. I'm sure many of the problems of the day have been solved at the bar. Or maybe local means you have only been here a few years but they embrace the community and assimilate. There are no airs of uppityness at Elbow Two. The drinks prices are reasonable (great pours!) and although entree prices are post covid/inflation the value is there. A fried seafood platter was overflowing with seafood and the baked clams were on point. The marinated steak speaks for itself after all these years. The quality of beef is still evident be it a hamburger or t-bone. Dan our server was attentive and efficient. I would hate to see this place change anything including the interior. Back to the local part, elbow Two offers a Burger night a wing night, and a steak night all reasonably priced. read more

Denied service to my Great Aunt with her medical service dog. The waitress said she had to "call her boss" to see if it was ok, and the boss responded that he would have to come and evaluate the situation. This is illegal and offensive. The staff needs better training clearly. read more

Just to bring reviews of this place to date I am pleased to say it's what it is: an overflow to Cliff's on the main road. I keep the phone number handy so when we try original Cliff's and theres a long wait I call Too and usually get right in..great place to crash after day of wine tasting. Very friendly crew takes good care of customers. We love the baked "mud clams" as we call them. The steaks are great when you are hungry and mildly soused from a day at the vineyards. We drive over, get greeted & seated. Drink order placed, pick up menu.....WTF? Nothing but high priced entrees. No burgers, etc. Our houseguests were going to be picking up the tab and we were NOT looking for $50 steaks. Talk about an uncomfortable situation. Lovely waitress (Meghan?) brings drinks. Ummm, er, excuse me but don't you guys have burgers? She says, oh yeah of course we do.....they just don't put them on the menu. Ah, that was a relief, but again: WTF? Not everybody is a regular....are we supposed to be mind readers? We didn't dare ask about sandwiches, etc. Annnnyway.....three of us had burgers, I had the paella special. They liked there burgers. Consider this review if you will be sitting at the bar, having a burger and a beer. I kind of want to give the burger four stars - for tastiness at a decent price and closeness to my house; but the rest of the restaurant definitely doesn't deserve it. So we'll sit at three. A friend and I had a late lunch here today since it was nearby, we both had the afternoon free, and it was miserably rainy and cold outside. It may have been the first time I have went to a restaurant and did not look at the menu. Based on the one dinner meal I had here about a year ago, I would have given Cliff's only two stars. Regardless of how the locals rave about the steaks (maybe not at this location?), I've definitely had better in the area. Especially considering the price and mediocre sides and bread that came with it. The burger, however, was delightful. It was cooked well (though a little past medium rare), juicy and flavorful. I had mine marinated with cheese and a side of french fries. The fries were thin, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of salt - a successful fry in my book. And the bun was soft, but strong enough to not turn to mush from the juice of the burger (enough of which escaped to pleasantly soak into some of my fries). The bartender was friendly and upbeat. The food was served quickly, but didn't taste rushed. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable and homey. Be warned, if you go later, the small parking lot can get kind of hellish. read more

Don't let this one pass you by. I worked as a cook in Alaska back when the earth was young and the volcanos we're going off so I've been around food and I cleaned fish for a living too so I'm a good judge of seafood. Decided to have the surf and turf. I don't live on the East Coast so it's rare that I ever order lobster. The combination was insanely good. I highly recommend the marinated fillet. It was as good as steak as I have ever had anywhere. The lobster was great too but really how bad can lobster be? The prices are reasonable, the waitstaff was outstanding and the chef did a great job. If I have any criticism at all it's they could improve the salads - but seriously this is a classic. I had the best restaurant meal of my life here. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly to my liking, and charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. I don't know what they put in the marinade to make it so good, but I savored every bite. I was never much of a steak eater or even carnivore, but this changed everything. I went with my parents, who ordered shrimp and a fish sandwich, and while they liked theirs, they had serious food envy when I told them they HAD to try my plate. The seafood is fresh and maybe good as an appetizer, but as a main course you have to order steak. The service struck the perfect balance between friendly and professional, and I like when it's attentive but not checking on you every few minutes. Really nice people. They're open year-round, seven days a week for lunch (starting at noon) and dinner. The lunch menu is a fantastic value, but you could order off the dinner menu at lunchtime if you want. If you're coming from the west, you'll see a sign where you should turn, but if you're coming from the east, the sign off the main road is really, really tiny so you should look up directions before you head out. read more

I've been to Cliff's Elbow Room a bit west of this location a few times, and am a big fan of their steaks... especially their marinade. For those of you that have not tried their marinade, it's a bit like teryaki, but a bit thicker. When the marinade hits the broiler, the caremelization turns it black, which can be a bit disquieting, especially if you ordered your steak rare. But fear not! The marinade is actually very, very good! The prices are a bit pricey, and the location is a bit out of the way... it is separated by the Long Island Sound by a beach. There's a sign off Sound Avenue that points you in the general direction... continue down the road until there isn't any more road and you're there! I went to this place on my way back from Thanksgiving (enroute to the Orient Point ferry), so it was definitely out of season. There were few cars in the small lot, but there were some people inside the restaurant (actually, they were in the bar area). After a half hour or so, more and more people came in--most seemed to be locals. The service was great. The bleu cheese salad dressing was out of this world. A definite four stars out of five. The waitress was kind enough to remove the offending food from the bill and that was appreciated but my visits to Cliff's are over. The atmosphere is classic dive, which is refreshing to find in an affluent part of Long Island. Wine comes at $6/glass and the amount poured is generous. The food is pricey. Take 2 I order 2 hamburgers and a grill cheese at 6:50pm. I get there 7:15. Waiting at bar till 7:45. No food still. Bartender says kitchen is backed up. Empty tables. Etc. she's bullshitting and running lottery tickets. This place blows and I'm writing this from the bowl at midnight with stomach cramps. This was probably the WORST food I've had in a long time and I've lived out here for many years. The "baked clams" were mush~~- no clam taste or bits of clam~~just soggy tasteless breadcrumbs~~. There was a GIANT mushroom in there, tho--huh? The fried shrimp , while mildly crunchy on the OUTSIDE, were totally soft on the inside, like the texture of FISH on the inside--almost inedible- shudder~~ my friend's clams casino were ok~~ at least they were made with WHOLE clams. The lemon meringue pie was totally chemically tasting~~ again, yuck. You'd think they couldn't screw up beer, but our Shock Top did not taste like any one I've ever had~~it tasted sour~~ maybe they squeezed a bad orange in it?? The king cut is an insult and the mussels were the size of rasins ??? The pride is gone and now its extremely inconsistent. How can three grown men all order the king cut prime rib and three different sizes come out ???? Then you've got 3 Bros looking at each other all hawking on each other's rib... ready to start a riot!!! Not cool. Hoping it improves. What a disappointment. They have the location, and the view is splendid. Even the ambiance isn't half bad. The food is extremely expensive, and quite disappointing. One of us had the seafood "sampler." I quote sampler because there was about 2 of each of the 3 or 4 things, including mini-scalops. It was in a bath of oil and was not appetizing. I had the chop steak as I implicitly asked Medium Rare. I received a well done + piece of chop meat with nothing enticing about it. The salads were disappointing as well. We eat here twice a month for the best burgers on the north fork. We go on Thursday so we get the same server, Noreen. Friendly,fast, funny and a real gem. After a long, long day we walk in and our drinks are getting made before we get to a table ! The chicken francese was pretty good too! Ive been a big fan of the elbow room for years. I always get the surf and turf with my steak marinated. Over the last few years ive noticed the quality of the steak go down hill. I kept going back because the lobster tails were always cooked perfectly and the French fries were just perfection. After my last visit to the elbow room my lobster tail qas like a piece of rubber. I couldn't even chew it. I decided to send it back and get another. The new tail was better but not amazing. I really hope this place stops cuttingcorners becauee this used to ve one of my ffavorite causal restaurants. As for the service it basically reflects the decor. The waitresses have always been ok but a bit rough around the edges. I would have given 4 stars but after my last meal im quite disappointed and im not sure if ill be back. One more thing when this place has lobster bisque as a special order it. Its one of the best ive ever tasted. Its more of a lobster chowder with huge tender chunks of lobster. They haven't offered it in a while but its worth a call to see if its on the menu read more
