A little out of the way, but this place was great! Parking got a little tight, but the views were amazing. Docking is available, too bad I don't have a boat. The place is nice and spacious with an extensive outdoor seating area that extends to the water. The gracious and friendly staff greeted and led us to a great spot outside, right at the edge of the patio under the big tent. This gave us a great view of Mill Creek and the Peconic Bay We started off with some zucchini chips, and were given some olive tapenade with breadsticks and flatbread. These were very good. The Halibut and Surf n Turf specials we had were fantastic and perfectly prepared. The halibut was nice and chunky, and the filet+lobster tail were done just right. Every little bit of it was devoured, and left us no room for dessert. This wasn't too tragic since dinner was fantastic. This was a little far for us to drive for dinner, but we were heading to the Custer Institute afterwards despite the predicted cloudy skies and this made up for that. read more

The best spot to eat on the water in Southold, and it pulls a perfect 5 stars for the service, entertainment, environment, and food. The weather was gorgeous, they had live music by the water with a very talented musician singing covers too. The drinks were well made and the server was very attentive, checking on us all the time if we needed anything, always refilling water and to be of service. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the Fish and Chips was also good, not too deeply fried. The Tuna Sandwhich was really good too, fresh fish and filling. BEST view and vibe on the Northfork! Period. You are on vacation when you are here especially with the live music! Great staff, especially Francesco who is consistently welcoming and accommodating and always a pleasure! Brooke shields was having lunch. We sat for 15 minutes and no one came to our table. Finally, an owner or a manager asked if we were being helped and I said no , a waitress came over took our order and the food was mid. The octopus was served cold and tiny little pieces mixed with salad I've never seen a grilled lemon That was ice cold on top of the salad before ,the food almost came out too quickly as if the dishes were premade in the fridge, the crowd is pretentious, even though the restaurant is pretty I thought it would be a lot better, but I don't think I will be coming back read more

What a gem. Still a little early in the season so it was fairly easy to get a reservation at our preferred time. The food was spectacular so we decided to share a few appetizers and the main. The blackfish was a special and not being a huge fan of fish I was so excited to realize how great it tasted. Pricey but all the restaurants "out East" are comparable with nyc prices. Bitter sweet review. I always thought highly of this hidden gem. Just want to submit a current review. Beautiful location on the water. The service lacked. My party of three waited at a table for quite some time. We had to go sit at the bar for service. Complicated menus. There is a pre 4 0'clock lunch menu. A four to five menu and an after five dinner menu. We were there at 3:50 thus ordering was a bit complicated. One would expect to have higher prices on an upscale waterside restaurant. The food did not live up to the price. We all had the pasta seafood dish. Told it would be served with linguine bucatini came out instead. The pasta was properly al dented but did not seemed married to the watery sauce. No black cracked pepper was available. It was a minor ordeal to get grated cheese. . I had an empty glass sitting in front of me for most of my time. They missed out of a couple more drinks on my bill. Twenty dollar drinks and forty five dollar plates. They have the nerve to charge a credit card processing fee on the bill. The music was suitable for the background. Disco Techno garbage. Played too loud. We rolled up on our boat like we've been doing for years, and it's been such a joy watching Waypoint grow in popularity. The food has always been amazing fresh, creative, and consistently delicious. But this year, something else stood out even more: our server, William. From the very beginning, he made us feel like family. He carried himself with the kind of ease and expertise you'd expect from someone who's trained at a top restaurant (I can't remember if he said Eleven Madison Park or another Michelin-star spot, but either way, it showed!). William guided us through the menu. He suggested the perfect wine pairings for each course he knew the highlights of the menu inside and out, and truly elevated the entire dining experience. Every recommendation hit the mark. We've had many great nights here over the years, but this one stands out as the best yet not just for the incredible food and music, but for the outstanding service William provided. Waypoint is lucky to have him on their team, and we can't wait to come back for another evening like this! We only have a few more weeks left until we have to put the boat in for the season but we will make sure to stop back! read more

We had a great experience at Wayfair on Fathers Day. Our waitress Jeanine was very attentive. We were told on arrival that there would be a slight delay on the food which was greatly appreciated. We sat at the edge of the patio on a beautiful day. We ordered drinks and in a short time we were able to order our food. Everything was delicious. We felt rushed whenever he came around which made it difficult to relax. One of the dishes was well below what other reviews have stated. The desert was dry and cold. The sides were just okay. Summary I recommend Waypoint because it is a beautiful setting and the Halibut was so good ($55). The hostess and manager (Chris) were terrific. The waiter did come around towards the end of the meal. Too little too late? Perhaps. Hopefully this will be received with the intent it is being written- to help enable decision makers to implement strategies to make a very good restaurant even better. But let's be honest: $600 for a meal for four people is pretty hard to justify, especially when you're being told the red snapper is locally caught in Long Island Sound (which it absolutely isn't--red snapper doesn't live anywhere near here). For that price, you'd expect not only top-quality ingredients but also complete transparency about where your food comes from. The atmosphere and service were solid, but nothing about the experience warranted such an inflated bill. If you don't mind splurging--and don't mind a little creative storytelling about seafood sourcing--you might still enjoy it. Otherwise, you can find better value elsewhere. read more

The ambience was wonderful. Sunset on the water - beautiful. The service was a bit lacking. The waiter made it seem like we were imposing on him by being there. Most of the mask was good. But, I had the tuna crude which was fairly tasteless and overpowered by the chipotle aioli and the filet mignon special. For $70, I expected it to be cooked properly (med rare) and the vegetables to be more than lukewarm. I had to add salt to everything to get it to taste okay and left half the steak uneaten. When we received the check, there was a $10 credit card fee added. They never said that we needed to be prepared with $400+ cash for the meal to avoid the charge. For a restaurant with these prices it I'd ludicrous to charge a fee for using a credit card. It's only ten bucks but absolutely makes certain we will never return and won't be recommending to our friends. read more

The star is for the service and atmosphere. We almost turned around after pulling up to a very unassuming restaurant exterior. I was pleasantly surprised to be walked though a beautiful dining room. This restaurant transports you to the Florida Keys. A lot of the crowd hopping off a boat for lunch, it's very scenic. Our server was welcoming, attentive and kept a smile. The food however was borderline disrespectful. The fish and chips I had was awful. I couldn't eat it. Imagine a flavorless cod, coated in a funnel cake batter, underdone, without a sprinkle of salt. The moment I saw the color of the fish as the server brought it out, I knew it would bad. To make matters worse, it was served with cold, stale fries. The lobster roll was skimp, burnt, and also served with cold, stale fries. It's a shame because everything BUT the food were makings of a great restaurant experience. read more

We had Janine as our waitress and she was a sweetheart. The espresso martinis were delicious and they let me substitute it with Casa Migos ! So I was very pleased! Meatballs are the bomb!!! Phenomenal evening here with friends. The location is really quite remarkable. So close to the water that at high tide it nearly kisses your toes. The views of Jennings Point & Kissing Rock, on Shelter Island, were spectacular. The restaurant looks recently updated, well kept & clean. The service was lovely; attentive and friendly. Nothing snooty about this place. There's a great outdoor bar area & plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat at a table by the water and the food was really very good. Not sure why I was surprised, but seriously, this chef, Matt, is excellent. Pasta dishes were perfectly seasoned & not over-sauced. Who makes a light bucatini dish? This place :) My friends were delighted by the Halibut & chicken as well. I'll be going back again soon & I will post more pictures of the restaurant itself. Go check it out! You will not be disappointed. Update: went back with my husband & son tonight. Blown away again! Excellent. Made resi for Tuesday night. So we truly love a lot about this place HOWEVER, I don't think I can go back there again if they continue to hire a DJ!
