What a hidden gem, once inside definitely feels like you're in a farm house in the French countryside... Food here is fresh and delicious and high quality ingredients and everything is cooked to perfection. Service is friendly and they have a full bar. We had the chicken cordon Bleu and the chicken valdastanza both fantastic and generous portions. Glad we checked out the dessert menu... Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie... Truly, The Best Dessert I've ever had.... all homemade! Definitely recommend checking this place out

It pains me to write this review about a restaurant I have loved for years, but I can't overlook the rudeness and poor customer service we encountered during our recent visit. The food is still amazing--an excellent assortment of French-American cuisine in a relaxed, country-style setting. From burgers and salads to classic dishes like Beef Bourguignon and Steak au Poivre, the menu has always impressed me. However, during our lunch today with my parents and a family friend, our experience was marred by an unexpected charge. We traveled nearly an hour to dine here, and while my mom and I decided to share an entree, my dad and friend each ordered their own meals. Our bill totaled $204, and we noticed that our Boeuf Bourguignon, listed at $36, had an additional $5 charge for splitting the meal. When my dad questioned this, the owner simply stated, "it is what it is because it's posted on the menu," and refused to remove the charge. My parents were upset, so I approached the manager in hopes of resolving the situation. Unfortunately, this only escalated the issue. Rather than addressing our concerns, she became defensive and dismissive. I suggested that they communicate the split meal charge more clearly, as it was in small print at the bottom of the menu. Instead of acknowledging our feedback, she raised her voice and insisted that we should have already known about the charge since we're regular customers. Her response was disheartening. I expressed my disappointment that she wouldn't consider our perspective or offer an apology, to which she replied, "go ahead and write your review." After this encounter, we all agreed not to return, which is unfortunate because of a simple $5 miscommunication on a $204 bill. The Boeuf Bourguignon, which we shared, was delicious, just as I remembered. I had planned to write a glowing review and share beautiful photos of the restaurant and our meal. Instead, I'm left feeling disappointed and frustrated by the owner's poor customer service and inflated ego. Delicious food, quality taste! If you are a burrata fan, you have to try theirs! These tomatoes also tasted so freshly grown and flavorful. I will say that the restaurant was very quiet, so much so that you could hear the floor boards creaking. I would have appreciated some light music in the background! It is also a quite small restaurant with only few tables so prepare to be packed in a bit. Service was prompt with the exception of a couple times, once when one of our entrees came out later than the rest, and again when we asked for the check. Overall, positive experience though and glad we tried it!

one of our favourite places on the east end--always a sucker for french cuisine. we come again and again. the roosters which fill the walls are charming and not at all kitch or overwhelming in the design and the lighting is perfect, almost candlelit. the food is perfect everytime, i highly recommend the duck. the skin is so crispy and the unagi demi glace is mouthwatering.

While out planter shopping on the north fork my wife and I decided to stop for lunch at the Red Rooster Bistro and we were not disappointed. We began with the grilled portobello mushroom accompanied by blue cheese, a dish that struck a perfect balance between richness and refinement. The smoky depth of the mushroom was beautifully offset by the tang of the cheese. We also had the Pâté de Campagne, this starter is a true standout, executed with both authenticity and finesse. Rustic yet refined, the pâté is rich and deeply flavorful, capturing the essence of traditional French country fare. It is served with perfectly crisp crostini, whose delicate crunch provides just the right contrast to the pâté's smooth, hearty texture. The accompaniment of house-made mustard elevates the dish further, adding a bright, tangy sharpness that balances the richness beautifully. For the next course, we enjoyed the beet salad and the signature Red Rooster salad, both with roasted chicken. The beet salad was both vibrant and earthy, its natural sweetness enhanced by a light, thoughtful dressing. The Red Rooster salad offered a more robust composition, layered with flavors that showcased the kitchen's attention to detail and commitment to freshness. Each dish was presented with elegance, the portions generous yet measured. Service was attentive and gracious, contributing to an atmosphere that was both warm and polished. In all, Red Rooster Bistro offers an elevated dining experience where creativity, quality, and hospitality come together seamlessly.

Excellent ! Great portions, fantastic service, ambience is wholesome and reflects the spirit of the east end countryside

This was my first time for a sit down dinner at the Red Rooster Bistro and boy did it have me clucking! This used to be a farmers bar called the Blue Top then a bbq joint called the farmers bar. They have really hit the mark with the decor and theme this time around. It still has that county ambiance with plenty of rooster plates and decorations hanging on the walls to give the space a cozy feel. The service was phenomenal with the staff making sure all are needs were met and the food had the same taste and feel that the restaurant presents. I'll definitely be going back. P.S. I don't have a picture of the Pot Roast my mother ordered but that was probably the best meal of all.

Plenty of roosters at the Red Rooster Bistro. Very relaxied setting, reasonably priced, quite accommodating.. Indoor or outdoor seating wonderful pleasant staffing. Casual dining and relaxing venue in Cutchogue. Had a few special requests, great job by the chef.

We were seated right away and our server was great, super friendly and helpful with what to order. There are a ton of specials off the menu which sounded amazing, so we both ordered two specials with Hake (~$46 each). Both were delicious, fresh and innovative takes on fish. I wish they had more of the specials listed because it was hard for us to keep them all straight. I started with the fondue for one which was tasty and fun but I would have preferred if it also came with cornichons and that the potatoes weren't fried (it was really heavy and oily with cheese and fried potatoes). Drinks were pretty weak for $26, and the bartender actually forgot to add champagne to one of our French 75s, lol. He did remedy it, though. We split the ice cream sandwich for dessert which was a little strange but tasty. All in all the food was very flavorful but at the price point I probably wouldn't come back. I guess you can get away with that in the Hamptons, even in the off season!

It was an unnecessary brush-off. We were finally seated over 30 minutes after our reservation, and placed our full order right away, hoping to make up for lost time. But then the cheese board took another 30 minutes to arrive. When we asked, we were told there was some kind of miscommunication -- again, no real ownership or urgency. Then came the main course. It was actually too salty even though my coworker requested less salt on everything. I enjoyed dipping the fresh bread into the oil. Lastly came the entrees. I was a bit disappointed in both of them. The hanger steak was cooked medium rare like I wanted but the texture was not great. I was hoping for a more tender cut and this was a bit tough and lean. The frites were cooked well and very crispy.
