I started with the Violet oysters, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. For my main course, I had the Iberico pork--it was extremely tender, well seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The food here is simply fantastic. We had a large party for dinner so were able to try lots of things--but I would need a week's worth of meals to taste everything I would have liked to taste. The food was honestly as good or better than what we have had in Spain. The croquettes were perfect flavor explosions. The salads were light and tasted like summer--no heavy dressings. The paellas were full of flavor (and the chorizo had a kick!). The fish and even the chicken were perfectly done. Been coming here for Happy Hour for a few months now! Had the same bartender every time and he was absolutely fabulous. It's not peak season so we always got seats at the bar or the nice lounge area as well. $1 oysters were delicious and well presented! Caesar salad is deconstructed and crunchy/cold which I prefer. The octopus and potatoes on the Happy Hour menu are standouts! They're closed for January but reopen in Feb. Can't wait to come back! read more

I'd come here during brunch when it's Hampton Maid many times, but had never been in during dinner time. I'm so happy that I did, because what a place - what a menu! We came for happy hour and sat at the small bar. Would recommend coming early if possible if you're trying to snag the happy hour deals, as this place fills up. I kicked things off with a seasonal happy hour beer which I was happy with. My brother got a gin and tonic which was the fanciest gin and tonic I've ever seen made. The bartender really went above and beyond with adding garnishes. We were here for the R.AIRE burger night which was one of the best burgers I've had (apparently award winning - and well deserved). Juicy and cooked to perfection, with crispy delicious fries all for $11.50? Yes please. We also had the crispy artichokes and garlic shrimp, all delicious. The ambiance is bright and inviting here. Our bartender really went above and beyond to explain everything to us and make recommendations as well. One of the best happy hours in Hampton Bays, for real. read more

I really wanted to love this dinner, but unfortunately it fell far short of expectations. We started with the Caesar salad, which was good, and the oysters and shrimp gamba, which were both very enjoyable. The fries? Honestly, delicious--easily the highlight of the night, which says a lot. However, the "famous" paella was a major disappointment. The filet was dry, flavorless, and somehow also burnt. The lobster was equally dry and forgettable. The rice managed to be both overcooked and undercooked at the same time--impressive in the worst way--and had a bitter, burnt-forward flavor throughout. The drinks were terrible, and the service made an already underwhelming meal worse. There appeared to be only one waitress for the entire restaurant, while the chef kept running out of the kitchen to problem-solve. Our food was dropped off and cleared without anyone checking in. At one point, the server grabbed the check before the money even hit the table, which pretty much summed up the experience. To top it off, we were excited to try the special dessert... only to be told it wasn't available. And just when we thought it couldn't get more uncomfortable, the place was essentially shutting down by 9:30, making it very clear we needed to hurry up and finish our cocktails, which at that point didn't happen. What an incredible meal! My husband and I are visiting from out of town and decided to last-minute-Google some restaurants nearby. There were tons of fish shacks and traditional sea-fare and we were in the mood for something different this evening. We stumbled upon this restaurant and when we saw they had a tasting menu, we knew we should stop in. Unfortunately the tasting menu wasn't available on this random Wednesday night but we wanted to eat here regardless! Sabrina was our waitress and she was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with cocktails: I had the Spicy Sword (kind of like a margarita but without fake sugary syrups and instead with fresh limes, and charred sage). It was so refreshing oh this humid day. My husband had one if the specials- the crowbar. It was delicious. We had a few tapas to start: - fluke ceviche: a delicious cilantro sauce, with red onion and cucumber. There was quite a bit of fish in this small plate! Very yummy. - octopus: incredible. Served with picked red onion and a pea and mint sauce. So good. - chanterelles: these were incredible. At the time these came out, we were in the process of having a bottle of wine opened by bart manager/mixologist Grigore. He said they were amazing and that we needed some bread to dip, so they brought us toasted bread to dip in the oil We ordered a bottle of wine on the specials list- a 2004 tempranillo ($94)!!!!! This was INCREDIBLE. Grigore (who also created all the cocktails on the menu) talked to us a bit about the wine, and then decanted it for us. It was incredible and quite a value considering it's 20 years old. For dessert we decided to get the cheese and Sherry pairing. Grigore came back to talk us through the cheeses and wines. I would've loved to have some crackers or bread with the cheeses as they were all VERY tangy (all goat) but the marcona almonds were yummy and the honey was SO good. It really paired nicely with the cheeses. The sherry pairings were also lovely. This restaurant is decorated beautifully and is in the Hampton Maid inn. The chef, Alex, came out to talk to some of the patrons (not our table, but he did thank us for coming when we were walking out), which is nice. We thoroughly enjoyed this meal. Knew the chef from a previous restaurant years ago! We actually let him choose what we ate back then! He was amazing, we were NEVER Disappointed!! We went R.Aire last weekend. We were so excited to go! Started great with the Artichokes! Down hill from there! I mouth full of salt in every dish! (I Have low blood pressure, salt is something I crave! For me to say a mouth full of salt it was bad!) I couldn't eat! They also charged us 2x $15.00 per craft of tap water!! Bill was over 300.00 for 2 people, not a problem if the food was worth it! Brought it home, and tossed it.... If it was to salty from me to salty for my dogs! Sorry Alex, you elevated our food palettes for years! Not here! Bus boy was great! Waitress.... A Classic hamptons exterior. As you walk in, you're met with a modern welcoming vibe. We went for an early dinner but otherwise I would recommend a reservation. They have a weekend happy hour which in my book always gets extra points. The bartender serves up some mean cocktails and makes sure customer are satisfied as does executive chef Alex Bujoreanu. He kindly greets every table and makes them feel like they are at home. He runs a tight ship and sends out delightful dishes. The tuna crudo was clean and fresh and beautifully presented. The lamb entree and steak we ordered both medium and were perfectly cooked medium not at all under or over. The cod croquettes are also a can't miss . Croquets were heavily fried with basically no filling Artichokes were either canned or jarred with a fried coating Calamari was soggy and super salty. String beans and broccolini were drowned in oil. Best dinner we've had in quite a while, and living in Manhattan we get our fair share of good restaurants. Paella was great, but the tapas were absolutely phenomenal - sardines, croquettes, octopus and gazpacho all to die for. The chef came out a few times to chat too, and the personnel was great and attentive. Not sure why it took us so long to try this restaurant, but we will definitely be back soon!! read more

My husband and I had a perfect drink, if you go there you have to try it, it is the milk clarified daiquiri, I could've had a gallon of it lol The patatas were good, my entree was a mushroom pasta that was too salty for my taste, but was good anyway. Aire was during the past eighteen months, recent visits reveal that the restaurant continues to reach new culinary heights under Chef and Owner Alex Bujoreanu. From Valencia, Chef Bujoreanu offers an amazing Fideua - a short grain pasta dish cooked in a paella pan in a richly flavored soffrito. R. Aire's Fideua a textural wonder, served two ways - as a seafood & squid ink dish or with wild mushrooms and duck. Fideua is rarely seen in the U.S. and these renditions are superb. R. We waited patiently without any noise unlike other Hamptonites for our table to be ready. After a half hour we were seated. We quickly made our order of 4 tapas and paella. Our waitress said our orders would be timed out for dinner. We enjoyed our dinner and waited patiently for our paella. Unfortunately after 45 minutes we continued to wait. We were told it would be out in a few minutes. After an hour we were told that it was accidently given to another table and ours would come out soon. Again we understood the chaos of memorial day weekend and the demands of the Karen's and everyone who wanted to be "taken care of". Finally after more than an hour I requested the Paella to be wrapped up which they did but it took another 15 minutes. Clearly someone messed up abd didnt make our order because if they did remember, it would have been brought our shortly. They were accommodating in sending another tapas that we did not ask for but upon receipt they charged us for it. We were sent home with a dessert and the paella which unfortunately did not exceed our expectations. Perhaps if it was made on time and eaten the restaurant that it would be better. We've frequented The Hampton Maid many times but this was the first time we tried A.Aire. Like the breakfast, they did not disappoint at all! We had a reservation for 12:15pm and were staying at the hotel. They finally seated us at 12:50pm. It took a very long time for our waiter to take our order - meanwhile there were plenty of open tables. We ordered very basic food - almost all eggs for everyone. And one stack of pancakes. Our food finally got to us at 1:50pm. We had been sitting at the table for an hour. We kept asking and they kept saying it's on its way or five minutes. Anyways, when the food DID come, it was extremely average. Pancakes were your average bisquick pancakes, the eggs were average, etc. Our waiter was apologetic, but the time it took was 100% not worth it. read more

Usually you have to reserve the tasting menu at the time of booking but because it was a quiet night they let us order it spur of the moment, which was nice. I came with friends for a wine tasting with appetizers and everything was excellent. We then decided to stay for dinner. It was strange because the lowlight was the seafood paella. The rice was crispy? The portion was also small and seafood on the side. It seemed obvious that the rice was cooked separately, and not infused the way a good paella is cooked. I dont know what took us so long to experience one of R.Aires tasting dinners but Im so glad we did. I was blown away by the level of skill, care and attention that went into each course. Chef Alex playfully takes you on a six course journey of flavors textures, ingredients and cultures. As one dining companion said "the food was so good I almost forgot to drink the wine!" The limited number of guests means a serene peaceful ambiance wiith a friendly, attentive and professional staff.If you're looking for a special occasion night out, look no further and book already! read more
