My brother and I did not want to bother with dinner yesterday and decided to go for happy hour at Edgewaters. We had been there recently and really liked it. It has a nice vibe and is not too crowded if you sit at a table. The night we went, the bar was packed so I am glad we were given the option of a table or booth. Once we were settled in the booth, water arrived at the table and our drink orders were taken by our waitress who was very nice and personable. My brother got a beer and I decided on the Edgewater espresso martini, which was really good. We placed our happy hour food choices when she returned-my brother opted for the wings and I got the shrimp and ,mushroom risotto. The food arrived quickly and was hot. Both our meals were delicious. The risotto was covered with shaved parmesan cheese and was very tasty. I would recommend and will be returning. read more

This place is a 10/10 for me. The view is amazing, the food is outstanding, the drinks are strong, the service is friendly - what more could you want? Came here on a Thursday night and was able to grab two seats at the bar. I started off with a cosmo which was made perfectly, served in an insulated martini glass to keep it nice and cold. For starters we had the charbroiled oysters which were unlike any oyster dish I've ever had. Topped with garlic, parmesan and sriracha, the sauce that comes off of these bad boys gets soaked up with the focaccia its served with. Honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. We also had fried calamari which was solid. For mains, I had the veal Milanese which was perfectly cooked. Crispy, topped with fresh tomatoes and arugula plus shaved parmesan. My brother had the lobster pasta which I tried and was out of this world. The shitake mushrooms in this dish really add a depth of flavor you don't normally find in a lobster pasta. I haven't stopped thinking about those oysters and will absolutely be back. Everything in the Hamptons is expensive, but this place is where you want to spend your money. read more

friends and I went on a double date there this past Friday. Our server, Angel, was so pleasant. He was so kind and was able to accommodate our meal request. The bussing staff as well checked up on us often for dirty plates or refill, we never had to ask for anything. The food portions were definitely up to standard and not too pricey either. Great experience my first time here. It was near perfect! And I would absolutely come back and recommend. I had the tostada. It was delicious but my egg was overcooked. I asked for it over medium but the yolk was cooked all the way through. It was still tasty but would have been better, had it been cooked over medium. I might have thrown the chef off by asking for it over medium. My girlfriend go the quinoa salad, which I'm getting next time. It was so yummy. Her husband got the frittata, which he loved and my hubby got got the Chicken Milanese. Also very happy. Bottomless Bloody Marys were excellent and the Negroni got high marks. The standout was the Almond Dessert. Pure perfection. I'm also ordering that the next time. If I could give Edgewater 4.75 stars, that would really be more accurate but I only give five if it's a perfect experience. Nice ambience and great service. Gorgeous water views both inside and out. European style bathrooms where the solid doors meet the floor and ceiling. Attentive on point staff. The Summer Blossom cocktail although beautiful had a very high alcohol taste to it. Some people would appreciate that but I didn't. As I ping-ponged tasting my family's food I would say that it was overall very good, except the crab salad was a bit bland. Came here for a bridal shower and couldnt believe the view and food! The spaghetti and meatballs was extraordinarily delicious and they kept the amazing bread coming! Amazing food with an amazing view. I came here for my birthday dinner, and it was a surprise by the husband. Little did he know that I've been eyeing the spot for when we take drives out here. They don't take reservations but you can call 15 minutes ahead to put your name on a waitlist. We took a chance and didn't call ahead which was fine because there was only a half an hour wait, and that was on a Sunday evening. There's a nice little patio outdoor area that you could sit and wait for your name to be called for an open table. I grabbed a drink at the bar and ran it out to the patio and enjoyed the view. Only 20 minutes passed when we were called and we literally got the best seat in the house. Just outside the indoor dining area is another outdoor patio dining area that wraps around the restaurant. We were lucky enough to snag a spot that looked out to the water. From the bartender to the servers and the host everybody was really friendly and super laid-back with great recommendations. I had two different cocktails. Both were on the seasonal menu and the first one was delicious, but had a little bit too much mint that I ended up consuming , my second cocktail was just as good and both were super light and refreshing. The food was awesome, and I was surprised by a lot of the menu items that were featured. For instance, one of the appetizers was a sausage pinwheel. We ended up getting that and I was super impressed how this totally worked as an appetizer. My main course was the duck pizza, how cool of a dish is that? If you love duck, this is the pizza for you! It had mushrooms...it had shredded, delicious and very well cooked duck ... and on top was a plum sauce that was drizzled very generously and paired well with all the toppings on the pizza. This was an awesome way to close out my birthday weekend. I can't wait to try the spot again. We're definitely putting it on our list of go to restaurants when driving out east. read more

Eh. Food was decent but the view was great. My husband and I dined here tonight as it was 75 degrees and sunny out! It was a little cold outside so we opted to dine inside. It was a little chilly so I wore my jacket. The view of the water is perfect and the restaurant is very clean. Loved the blue touches everywhere. We were promptly seated but it took a little bit for our waitress to come to our table. Nonetheless, she was very nice. When my husband was stuck on what beer he wanted to order, our waitress gave him a very generous sample from the bar. For starters, we ordered the fried calamari which was delicious. Although I did not see penne a la vodka on the menu, I asked our waitress if the kitchen could make it and she said yes. While it looked promising, it lacked flavor that I was hoping it would have. It was extremely bland and needed more seasoning which was a bummer. My husband ordered the shrimp oreganata risotto and he finished his entire dish. They had a very extensive dessert menu (pistachio gelato, cheesecake, chocolate lava cake, cannoli, etc.) but we were too full to order. Another fantastic meal at the Edgewater tonight! We tried a few different things this time and they were all outstanding. The beet salad was delicious and refreshing! The shrimp on crisped rice was inventive and very tasty. And I was totally surprised by the steak frites- I was expecting a piece of steak (sirloin?) but instead was presented with what I believe was skirt steak perfectly cooked and covered in a light cream/peppercorn sauce. We had reservations for six on a Friday night, and I would recommend, the restaurant filled up quickly. Our food was fantastic. We enjoyed calamari, and mussels for an appetizer, and each one of us had something different from the menu (everyone raved about how great the food was from start to end) we of course had to finish with homemade dessert. Place is pretty overrated in my opinion. I suppose if you like very large portions of calorie dense food with very little taste (think Olive Garden) then this could be a good place for you. I prefer something a bit more refined and unique where the patrons aren't getting rolled out of the establishment after gorging on butter and oil. What could say summer in Hampton Bays more than a table by the water? These folks have a plum waterfront spot- especially if you're dining on their front deck. Restaurant is pretty big and stylish. These guys used lawn area off to the side with 3-4 tables and there's more outdoor seating...and that's what I wanted- especially during these Coronav. times. Staircase leads up to a Koi pond, more outdoor seating by hostess station and even more seating spaced at 6' on their waterfront deck. Plus you got indoor seating also spaced out accordingly. Edgewater doesn't do reservations right now- just walk in. Our wait was about 20 minutes and grabbed drinks. Bartenders wearing masks, a group of men galavanting without theirs- so hubs and I had drinks more than 6' away from them. My Tajin rimmed 'Ginger Herradura' was potent as well as hubs' Martini something. Counter was grimy and sticky. And in these Coronavirus times, I could tell these guys are not following cleanliness to the fullest and that sucks. Hand-held drink chart which I touched, wasn't cleaned when I put it down. Come on now. Our meals later on were tasty. Hubs enjoyed his Medium rare Ribeye and my shrimp 'Risotto'....well- let's just say this isn't an Italian restaurant. Service was nice from the busboy down to our server (both wearing masks). My guy Austin was super chill and quick on his toes. When I asked if there was any type of mustard in the balsamic vinaigrette on my Sliced+Bleu Crumble salad, he came back to me and said there was- promptly. So thank you for looking out man! Listen- my issue is this: if I ALSO have to look at major sanitizing housekeeping protocols when I go out- especially while the world is STILL facing this pandemic, so be it. This was the second time eating there since opening. The food was all wrong. The pasta was not fresh the first time. The second time my steak was horrible. I think it was old in the freezer. I asked for medium and it sort of was. Charcoal on top and grainy in the very middle. ( that was the best part of it. Otherwise all fat and grizzle, just and old shoe. Sorry but we can't go back there and pay top dollar for our Friday nite date nite when the food is just not very good. 75 main is much better suited and the price for like $10 more is fabulous and the wait staff came to my table 3 x to take my plate was I wasn't even ready. It's the weirdest thing, Edgewater has been a tourist trap restaurant for as long as I can remember. The placed is filled to the brim with old folks passing through. We stopped in for a date night, and we weren't impressed. The service is great, they train their staff well. But, like most places like Edgewater the food pales in comparison to the service. The dishes we had were pretty average, nothing stood out or wowed us with it's flavor. From what I've heard some of their seafood options are good. The lava cake is microwaved and somehow worse than Applebee's. For what you're paying, you're better off skipping this one if you're on the fence. If you must wait there is a bar area you can eat at or grab a drink while you wait for a table . First time here and their Service was fast and professional. Food was delicious and worth every penny. Last week, a couple friends and I stopped in after one of them, who is from the area, spoke highly of it. We made reservations for Friday night at 8:30pm. Upon arrival, we were told we would have to wait 10 minutes because they were a little behind schedule. Fair enough, yet 20 minutes later, we are finally ushered to our table. We begin to settle in, and our waiter appears. We tell him we need another minute, which is followed by another 10-15 minute wait for him to return. 9pm and we have no drinks. We finally do order, except when it arrives, the food runner hands me the wrong dish. The waiter doesn't appear for another few minutes, only to quickly confirm they are correcting the mistake, no apology though. My pasta dish arrives after I insist that the table begin eating without me. I ask to have my food packed, and the busboy brings out two tins. I ask if he could pack it himself, seeing as almost every part of this experience was already relatively stressful, and it as if he has never heard these words before this moment. He asked me "What do you mean?". I just take the tins, pack my food and we pay the entire bill. Not one thing went right. We specifically chose this restaurant for our first night visiting, and to have been treated as if we weren't welcome, or appreciated for our patronage is infuriating. No gesture was made. I'm not walking in expecting anything but a table when I make a reservation, a reasonable wait time and my correct order, but they could have offered a round, a dessert, an apology, ANYTHING for the borderline negligent service we experienced. Not returning and very disappointed. The food was very good and I would have loved to enjoy it. The valet attendants were great though, 10/10. read more
