Fine dining service in a casual atmosphere, Alpina offers a unique menu, an interesting bar/wine list, and top-notch service. The menu consists of a rotating offering of unique cuisine with interesting flavor profiles. The bar is fully stocked with your usual and unusual fare, the wine list is top notch. The service is beyond impeccable, fine dining service with knowledgeable staff helps explain the menu, dishes, and drink pairing suggestions. The overall service was exactly how a meal experience should be.. slow and steady with time in between courses. Never rushed, this restaurant understands the dining experience This is the perfect date spot or special dinner, make a reservation.

The mushroom Forester for brunch 10/10 amazing

The Quick: Fantastic cocktails, unique dishes, awesome staff, and cozy swiss Chalet vibes that are incredible all year. The details: One of my favorite cocktails ever is served at Alpina featuring Tequila and balsamic as two of the star ingredients. The brunch is mind blowing - the mushroom forager is so savory and tasty, you'll be talking about it for days (I know I will be). A meat and cheese heavy menu, but they do have one or two vegan options which we appreciate. Go, immediately. The Damage: typical for Greenport

I had an amazing experience here. I came here for brunch on a Sunday. I somehow managed to be the only customer, although the other places were all so busy, but I think it's because it's easy to miss their adorable entrance or mistake it for the place next door. But I'm glad I didn't miss it, because it was phenomenal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is covered in the owner's collection of Swiss memorabilia and it was so cozy and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sat at the high top by the window to people watch. My server was just a fantastic human being and my coffee was never out. I was starving so I got the Sourdough with juniper butter to start, and that was just incredible. The bread was toasted the perfect amount and the butter was out of this world. The jam was great, too, though I wasn't expecting it. I've been on a mushroom kick, so the Foraged Mushrooms dish with poached egg (fennel and dill) was a natural choice for my main. It was crazy good. That's pretty much all of my favorite things together in one dish. I'll be back in Greenport soon, and revisiting this restaurant is at the top of my list!

Came here with a big group. Our waiter was very nice. They were able to seat us on a last-minute reservation. We were going to go in for drinks, but the menu looks so good and I'm glad that we tried the food. The Caesar salad was really good artichoke and mushrooms were also delicious, the lamb entrée was great what I had ordered which was the ravioli was just OK though their cocktails were pretty good

Alpina was a wonderful experience. The food and service were exceptional. Home made pastas and breads and desserts. The cuisine is northern Italian, and Swiss. The waiters are so educated that they recommend anyone of your dishes with some of the great wines they carry. I strongly recommend anything and everything from appetizers, entrees to desserts. Everything is homemade and fresh.

Went there to celebrate my birthday, yes still celebrating . When someone wants to buy you dinner, Hey I must accept! Let's start w $10 bread it's good w olive oil n butter. But having dined at the fanciest restaurants, $10 charge for bread? I think it's unnecessary to charge for bread. Having said that, Gilio is the best wine sommelier! He will recommend perfect pairing to yr dinner. Unique small Italian vineyard. I wish I wasnt the designated driver so I could try his wines. Next time. The pastas orechiete was a bit salty, so was the agnolotti. On the other hand the pork shoulder n halibut needed to be salted. The duck was excellent, juicy meaty not dry. The fried polenta was perfect though! So crispy n buttery. It was my birthday so for desert, I wanted bomboloni ( Italian ricota donut). After ordering it the server came back n advised us that the chef said it didn't come out right n cannot be served. so we went down the street to Ralph's Italian ices for some Italian ices. I supposed I have to come back n try the wine n bomboloni ( no $10 bread though ) Service was friendly n courteous. Always appreciated.

Unfortunately, that wasn't possible during this visit because our waitress rarely checked on us, so I wanted to share our experience here. We made a reservation and weren't sure if it specified indoor or outdoor seating, so we called ahead. We were told that getting an upstairs outdoor table would be no problem. However, when we arrived, we were told our reservation was for inside seating only and that the wait for outside would be an additional 1 hour and 45 minutes. We really wanted to sit outside, but rather than make an issue of it, we decided to stay inside. Looking back, we probably should have left. The cocktails were underwhelming, especially considering the price. The highlights of the meal were the duck wings and calamari appetizers, which gave us high hopes for the entrees. Unfortunately, the entrees were a major disappointment. Two people ordered the halibut, and while we understand halibut is a delicate fish that can be difficult to prepare, the dish lacked flavor overall. The foam that came with it tasted horrible--almost soapy--and although the rice and eggplant were good, they weren't flavorful enough to complement the fish. I ordered the tuna burger and specifically requested it cooked medium because I didn't want it to be dry. Unfortunately, it arrived very dry, was falling apart, and lacked flavor. I ended up asking for a side of teriyaki sauce just to make it enjoyable- that didn't help at all and left half the sandwich in my plate. The tuna burger was supposed to come with sweet potato noodles, but they were out-which is not an issue for me, usually. The waitress asked if I'd like a substitute. None of the suggested sides appealed to me, so I asked if I could have the sweet potato purée instead since I saw it for the duck entree. Instead, I was initially served fries. I asked the person who served me, if I can get the puree, the server was confused but eventually understood. When the purée finally arrived, it was unfortunately inedible. The texture and taste reminded me of baby food, and even adding salt and pepper didn't help. I passed it around to the other folks at the table, all saying the same thing. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. Our waitress never came back to check on our meals, so we never had the opportunity to share our concerns while we were dining. She spent much of the evening chatting with other staff members and seemed distracted with friends and kids running around near the lobster tank. When we finished, another server brought us the check, and no one asked how our meal was or if everything was satisfactory. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for the amount we spent. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and has a great atmosphere, but unfortunately the food and service did not justify the price. We left wishing we had chosen somewhere else.

I felt a little to gaslit when the waitress said that was little gem but as I eat it regularly I know the difference between whole leaves and cut up romaine. They obviously ran out from the holiday but the salad should be cheaper since the substituted ingredients cost less. It was really just the Temu version of what I ordered. It still tasted good but would be nice to be know ahead of time that what you order is different. The burrata also looked different than the photo and I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known it was going to be covered in balsamic glaze. The manager was super friendly and apologetic and explained they were out of things (pappardelle ragu, Bloody Mary mix, etc) due to the weekend. They also ran out of real napkins so cocktail napkins were it. My mom ordered the lobster cavatelli and she got Alfredo on linguini with cheese all over it. Forgot to take a photo but probably better off since an Italian would pass away if they saw it. The branzino was well cooked, not my favorite flavor. The big red pepper that came with it was apparently on vacation too. My aunt said the linguini was decent but had cockles instead of clams. Really wanted to try the berries and hand whipped cream but wasn't going to risk being disappointed with the dish looking nothing like the photo once again. They also suggested a tip after tax, not before. Not cool. The staff is sweet and hard working but definitely needs training. We ordered the Little Gem Salad but when it arrived, it was served with romaine lettuce (not little gem), and when we asked the waitress she at first said that it was little gem but then acknowledged that they were out of it and substituted it with romaine (without telling us). A manager sauntered over to our table a few minutes later and asked if everything was alright -- He didn't apologize for the salad mix-up or anything and just played it off like he was paying special attention to us. Just weird and not very professional. Otherwise the food was decent. The pizza was good but small. My branzino was quite good and an ample portion. Also the corn agnolotti was really delicious. Definitely a highlight of the meal. So overall good experience, although we were all put off by our unskilled waitresses handling of our order and managing a clear mistake by the restaurant.
