Some of the best pizza pies we've ever had. We were doing a day in the North Fork, and we had heard great things. This is a place this is definitely worth going out of your way for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's in the basement level of an art gallery to make it seem like a speakeasy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really dark in there. Probably good for a date out there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Small menu with a handful of apps, handful of white pies, and a handful of red pies. We got an arugula salad with tomatoes, goat cheese, and grapefruit, a clams casino pie (white), and an nduja pizza (red). Larger pizzas. One is too little for two people, 2 is too much. Top notch pies coming out though. The clams casino was my favorite. Great flavor. Clams were fresh and not overpowering

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill neighborhood spot that feels like hanging out in your buddy's basement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cocktails are fantastic and the pizza is even better. Highly recommend getting meatballs on your pizza.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Brix and Rye is a small speakeasy that was a great find.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Although there was no room when we dropped by, our server (Daniel?) took our number and let us know he'd text us when a table was ready. My husband and I ended up playing shuffleboard upstairs while we waited. Tip: you're able to order drinks and have those drinks upstairs while you wait! We got seated within 20 minutes and our server was super attentive, despite being the only server making the rounds between various tables. I'm unfortunately forgetting the names off the top of my head, but we got the red pie with Nonna's meatballs as well as the white pie with clams. Both were fantastic. My husband doesn't usually eat crusts, but he ate the crusts of this pizza, saying that it was one of the best he's had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a bit dark, but that's to be expected for a speakeasy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a place to take a date or stop by for a casual night out with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get crowded and loud (even at 9p!) but we enjoyed our time and because there aren't as many tables, could still chat and hear each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd definitely stop by again and try some other pizzas!

I read about this place before our trip out to Greenport. It's been named best cocktails in quite a few places! There's no sign on the storefront, so we weren't even sure if we had the right place. Once you enter, you go downstairs to a dark bar. Cocktails are great, and pizzas are also delish. Menu is limited to mostly pizza and salad so if you want anything other than that, this night not be your place for dinner. They also had meatballs. My favorite cocktail was the Second Language and the Short Sword was fantastic, and had quite a kick. Our bartender was friendly and kind.

Visited Greenport for me and my girlfriend's anniversary, stopped here for some drinks and pizza not expecting too much and were honestly blown away. The owner helped us out in picking cocktails based on our likes and dislikes and they all turned out amazing. The pizza was delicious with many different topping options and you could tell they were made fresh. This place is an awesome little spot in Greenport and I cannot recommend enough. *Ps: mashed potatoes, bacon and caramelized onions on a white pie...just trust me

We did a last minute trip to Greenport last night. Glad we did. We had a great time! Walked around a bit and decided to try Brix & Rye. We got there at a good time because we got a table right away. We were IDed at the door and walked down the stairs and sat down. It was dim lit/ dark and we got a menu right away. What we ordered: - Nonna Lucille's Wood Fired Meatballs - Classic Margarita - sauce pie, fresh mozzarella, basil, garlic - white wine (I forgot which) - Devil Take the Hindmost - Applejack, Jamaican Rum, Stone Pine Liquor, Strega, Orange Bitters We were full by the time we were done. I had such a great experience here...I'm glad we got to try it. Everything we got was delicious! Try this place out! You'll have a great time. I'll be back, for sure. Sorry about the dark pictures...it was pretty dark. So dark that a complete stranger put his candle on the side of my pizza for better lighting lol.

A stellar mai tai (Trader Vic's 1944 style) at Greenport's Brix & Rye.

Best cocktails on the North Fork and the best selection of hard to find spirits as well. If you don't see it, ASK!

Why have I been walking past Alpina everytime I'm in Greenport?…read more Was it the dark atmosphere? Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.

Don't let the outside of this place fool you because looks are definitely deceiving. We were cautious coming to this place due to the appearance of the outside, but once we were in it was so much fun. Agus, aka rawbartender, was Ah-mazing and truly made the night fun. He was truly such a vibe!! I ordered the SpongeBob, which was Goslings rum, pineapple spice, ginger, lime, angostura bitters. Especially with the show that was put on, my drink tasted even better. It was a Smokey, yet smooth and refreshing drink! We also got the Snow White, on the sweeter side made with Pear vodka, orgeat, pear juice, lemon juice, cinnamon. And of course, we can't forget our schooling in tequila and Mezcal from Agus. He was very informative of what he was serving and we tried a few different shots. He gave us the rundown of how you're actually supposed to taste tequila. And I have to say I've never had an experience like that before. I wish the party didn't stop and I will definitely be coming back specifically for Agus and of course the drinks!

This two-story waterfront restaurant has all the bougie summer vibes (at least upstairs). Our group of five dined over oysters, steak and frites, watermelon salad... Unfortunately, that wasn't possible during this visit because our waitress rarely checked on us, so I wanted to share our experience here. We made a reservation and weren't sure if it specified indoor or outdoor seating, so we called ahead. We were told that getting an upstairs outdoor table would be no problem. However, when we arrived, we were told our reservation was for inside seating only and that the wait for outside would be an additional 1 hour and 45 minutes. We really wanted to sit outside, but rather than make an issue of it, we decided to stay inside. Looking back, we probably should have left. The cocktails were underwhelming, especially considering the price. The highlights of the meal were the duck wings and calamari appetizers, which gave us high hopes for the entrees. Unfortunately, the entrees were a major disappointment. Two people ordered the halibut, and while we understand halibut is a delicate fish that can be difficult to prepare, the dish lacked flavor overall. The foam that came with it tasted horrible--almost soapy--and although the rice and eggplant were good, they weren't flavorful enough to complement the fish. I ordered the tuna burger and specifically requested it cooked medium because I didn't want it to be dry. Unfortunately, it arrived very dry, was falling apart, and lacked flavor. I ended up asking for a side of teriyaki sauce just to make it enjoyable- that didn't help at all and left half the sandwich in my plate. The tuna burger was supposed to come with sweet potato noodles, but they were out-which is not an issue for me, usually. The waitress asked if I'd like a substitute. None of the suggested sides appealed to me, so I asked if I could have the sweet potato purée instead since I saw it for the duck entree. Instead, I was initially served fries. I asked the person who served me, if I can get the puree, the server was confused but eventually understood. When the purée finally arrived, it was unfortunately inedible. The texture and taste reminded me of baby food, and even adding salt and pepper didn't help. I passed it around to the other folks at the table, all saying the same thing. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. Our waitress never came back to check on our meals, so we never had the opportunity to share our concerns while we were dining. She spent much of the evening chatting with other staff members and seemed distracted with friends and kids running around near the lobster tank. When we finished, another server brought us the check, and no one asked how our meal was or if everything was satisfactory. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for the amount we spent. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and has a great atmosphere, but unfortunately the food and service did not justify the price. We left wishing we had chosen somewhere else.
