The server was very nice but she was also working as the bartender and I don't think she is a trained bartender. She got our drinks wrong, then remade them and they still weren't good. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and that was the only thing we had that was good. Our entrees were terrible. I order the filet mignon - it was a fatty, tendon filled, tough piece of meat served alongside mashed potatoes and carrots. The potatoes were fine, the carrots were just served as 3 whole carrots, nothing great. My husband ordered the pork chop which was served with a mango chutney sauce and scalloped potatoes - the potatoes were completely undercooked but at the same time looked like they were cooked a week ago and the sweetness of the chutney did not pair with the cheesy potatoes at all. To top it off while we were waiting for the check my husband noticed what looked like and moved very much like a roach - GROSS! I would have liked to give this at least two stars because the crab cake was pretty good and the servers was very nice but if there are roaches crawling out in the dining room amongst the patrons I can not even begin to imagine what the kitchen looks like.

But that is not why I am willing to drive long distances to play the wonderful game of Golf. It's because I enjoy playing on a golf course that are difficult to get on unless you're a member. And if a family or friend invites to you to play, I never say no. The Vineyards Golf Course is a beautifully designed course that easily blends in with its surroundings. The course has three set of tee boxes which we chose to play the back tees of course. Why??, well because the young men I was playing with can drive ball 300 yards plus and sometimes on the fairway. It sure did not help my game when I attempted to drive the ball the distances they seem capable. I found the Vineyards golf course challenging with its rolling fairways, protected by large meandering sand bunkers, false fronts and hazards. We had a windy day that played in our favor on some holes and others which easily challenged us. The par-3 holes were a variety in length, direction and difficulty. The secondary roughs had fescue grasses and in some cases we were lined up along a corn field farm. Vineyards was much more challenging than I anticipated, but I very much enjoyed the course and would love to play there again before the season ends.

We weren't too hungry so we ordered mussels in red sauce, fried calamari, spinach pear salad and ham burger and samuel adam's summer brew. The mussels were very clean and the red sauce was delicious. The calamari was crispy, the spinach salad was well balanced with sweet poached pear and tangy bleu cheese. The burger was juicy. All the dishes we ordered were very good.

When I called to check, the woman on the phone, who was so nice and I wish I remembered her name, said that they had gluten free options, and they can also change some of the entrees to be gluten free. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and seated in their very beautiful dining area near the outside patio. It was too hot to eat outside, but at least we got to see the beautiful outside area, which we will definitely check out when the weather is nicer. When we got to our table we met our awesome server Kim, who helped our friend with the menu and gluten free options. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and patient with all of us and our questions. When the drinks and apps came out, they were absolutely delicious. Kim is also an awesome bartender and her drinks were perfect! The apps I would recommend are the scallops, shrimp, fried mozzarella, and the mussels. Yes, we had them all and they were awesome! When our entrees arrived they were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. Everything we ate here from the apps to our desserts were outstanding! When we were done with dinner, we asked about exploring the upstairs since it looked very interesting and we were curious about it when we first walked in. Kim encouraged us to go explore, even though they were closing, and we were so happy we did. You might even catch him greeting guests at the front, which adds a nice personal touch. This time we had John's salad, no lettuce, just hearty veggies: asparagus, string beans, potatoes, orange, roasted peppers... yum. We also had the flounder oreganata. We've been back many times during the summer and enjoyed the specials of the day, the pasta dishes, the seafood dishes and the whole Bronzino just to name a few. . john has a wonderful group working in the kitchen! Caroline greeted us on our way in and took very good care of us. Tonight I had to have the fantastic pan seared scallops with the broccoli rabe garlic and oil side. Hubby chose to indulge in my second favorite dish, fresh tuna rare with sautéed onions and mushrooms that is so different and flavorful. (You would not believe it, but you must try it!) We look forward coming back in the spring for another season at Il Giardino. Thank you, John!
