Came here to celebrate a birthday with family the other night, and Pete's Taverna DID NOT disappoint! They honored our reservation time and provided outdoor patio sitting. It was a gorgeous day and there was plenty of space to sit and relax, while the kids played. For apps, we ordered the Charred Octopus, Fried Calamari, Saganaki Cheese (they make this dish in front of you), and Greek Style Wings. All of which were very well seasoned and generous in portion size. Entree wise, the kids had the standard hot dogs and/or chicken tenders and fries. Adults went with the Branzino (x2), Bone-In Lamb Shank Stifado, Stuffed Peppers (special), and NY Strip. Steak marinade was top tier. For dessert, kids opted for the Rainbow Cake, Cheesecake, Ice Cream and Key Lime Pie. Everyone loved their food, it was super authentic and almost nothing was taken home. Very good Greek food! Came here with my wife and her family. The hospitality was great and the food was very good! I wish they had gyro's on the menu because I love a good gyro but I guess they're aiming for more upscale restaurant quality Greek food. For apps we got the saganaki and that was the best app of the day! The presentation was great, but that fried cheese hit different and was very special, calamari was good and their chicken wings were fantastic. Grilled octopus was ok and wasn't bad at all but nothing to rave about. Very good chicken wings and definitely a must try for sure! For my main meal I went with the chicken souvlaki and that chicken was amazing. Chicken was seasoned to perfection and not dry at all like a-lot of different restaurants. I really loved the food and definitely would come back here. They had a live band for lunch and the guy performing was amazing. We had a wonderful dinner at Pete's Taverna! Everything was fresh, authentic, and beautifully prepared. We couldn't resist tasting a little of everything! We enjoyed fresh oysters, clams, charred octopus, shrimp cocktail, a perfectly cooked NY strip steak, whole branzino, gigantes (Greek giant beans), traditional Greek green beans, and delicious roasted lemon potatoes. For dessert, we shared baklava, creamy galaktoboureko, and Greek sour cherries served over yogurt, along with Greek wine and authentic Greek coffee. The service was warm, attentive, and professional, and the welcoming atmosphere made the evening even more enjoyable. My wife Therese (AKA Mrs. Bill The Long Island Ford Guy) and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pete's Taverna, and from start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The meal began with a pleasant surprise--the olive plate. I honestly didn't know there was such a thing as an "olive plate," but it was a fantastic introduction to the authentic Greek experience that awaited us. For our appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari, and it was some of the best I've ever had. Fresh, lightly fried, and clearly not frozen, it included all of the squid--not just the rings--which made a huge difference in both flavor and texture. For my entrée, I chose the Greek Lasagna, a dish that was completely new to me and absolutely delicious. It was rich, satisfying, and unlike anything I've had before. As they say, "When in Greece!" Therese ordered the Lamb Shank Stifado, and the best way I can describe it is as a Greek-inspired take on Osso Buco. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, it was both comforting and unique. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We shared the Apple Almond Raspberry Tart and the Galaktoboureko. Both were exceptional. The tart somehow managed to be light and rich at the same time, while the Galaktoboureko was everything a traditional Greek dessert should be. We wanted more--not because we were hungry, but because they were that good. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was crisp, clean, and welcoming. The bar scene immediately caught our attention as well. It was a great mix of all ages enjoying themselves together, creating an atmosphere that felt both classy and energetic at the same time. You could tell people were genuinely having fun, whether they were stopping in for a drink, enjoying dinner with friends, or making a night of it. Although the weather wasn't ideal during our visit, the outdoor deck looks like the perfect place to spend a summer evening, especially with the live music events they have planned. Congratulations to the entire team at Pete's Taverna on a job exceptionally well done. We are already looking forward to returning and exploring more of Pete's family recipes. Another incredible meal at Pete's Taverna--it's quickly become one of our favorite spots. One of the things I appreciate most is that you're never rushed; the whole experience feels relaxed and enjoyable. They offered a delicious Valentine's surf-and-turf special, but we decided on the lamb chops and pork chops instead, and both were excellent. We started with the Greek soup, which was absolutely incredible. To top it all off, Pete himself came over at the end of the evening to introduce himself, which was such a nice, personal touch. Went out east for a nice joyride. Stopped for quick bite along the way. Came across this place. So glad we stopped. Had a few drinks at the bar and quickly decided on the wings. Came here for an early dinner with the family. This place still has that fun ambiance, especially when the live music came on. Food and portions were very good. Just like all other restaurants at this time struggling to survive in this economy, you'll have to get used to the increased food prices. $24 for shrimp tacos. And $30 for the cod fish and chips just for an example. However, the service and cocktails was on point. The waitress and manager came to check on us numerous times throughout our meal. That being said, it's my understanding that this is the 3rd ownership change. I hope that more patrons come in and support this local business. read more

We have been renting a cottage for the month of august right around the corner from Pete's Taverna and we finally got a chance to have dinner the other night! Everything was excellent. Our server was so friendly and knowable on the menu. Our only off comment is that there should be veggie with the entrees. A little goes along way. We will be sure to come back again ! My friend and I were very happy to finally try Pete's Taverna today. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the bartender, host and servers. We sat outside and it was beautifully set up. Gorgeous flowers, lots of tables with umbrellas. Our server A.J. was wonderful. He was thorough in telling us about the specials and came back repeatedly to check on everything. We decided to share 3 appetizers. We started with the Greek style mussels - they were delicious! Lots of garlic & oil. Fresh feta and tomatoes complimented the dish. Next we had the watermelon salad. Again, fresh ingredients- sweet watermelon, cucumbers, red onion, feta and mint. The dressing was light and tasty!
