Went to dinner at cowfish with a couple of buddies and had a fantastic time. The outside bar was great and the live music added to the atmosphere. The food and service were on point. Servers were very attentive and the food was tasty. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Dani, the Pork Belly & That Sundae Cowfish has a great atmosphere, although it can get a little loud. What really stood out was the service. Dani was fantastic and made the experience even better. The truffle fries were an easy win: crispy, perfectly seasoned, topped with Parmesan, garlic, and parsley. Gone in minutes. The butter lettuce wedge surprised me. I usually pass on wedge salads, but this one changed my mind. Plenty of candied bacon, a well-balanced blue cheese dressing, and just the right portion size. The salmon, served over spaghetti squash with tomato concassé, was exceptional. Perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My favorite dish of the night may have been the pork belly. Crispy and caramelized outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender inside, paired with a mango tartare that had enough jalapeño kick to keep things interesting. Then came the Belgian Sundae. We almost skipped dessert, and I'm glad we didn't. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. Highly recommend. read more

We seem to have caught Cowfish on an off night, or at least I hope that's the explanation for their failing to meet their own record of high standards. The music was largely generic thumping & too loud. One of our two appetizers didn't come out; it arrived well after the first and only after a reminder. Our main courses were extremely delayed. I understand it was a Saturday night on Labor Day weekend -- it was busy -- but this isn't their first rodeo. The worst part was the gnocchi: tough, chewy & apparently overcooked...or perhaps a victim of sitting too long under warming lights. All was not lost, despite the problems. The wedge salad was very good, as was the burger. We've thought of Cowfish as a solid go-to in Hampton Bays. We hope this evening was just an aberration. read more

We visited Cowfish on a beautiful summer day. The main dining room was beautiful and we were lucky enough to snag a corner table with a great view. It was too hot in direct sunlight outdoors for us, but plenty of diners were soaking up the sun. Our server was very pleasant. My wife and I split a Gibbs burger and a lobster roll. The burger and fries were good. The lobster roll was seasoned with tarragon, which was offputting. We like the lobster to do the work, with as little distracting seasoning as possible. We subbed excellent wild mushrooms for fries. We were too full for dessert, but I saw an epic looking slice of banana cream pie at the next table. My experience here was the same as at Flora and fauna- great spaces with well trained staffs. My palate is not quite in alignment with the chef's. I can get a good meal and have a nice time, but a great meal has eluded me. Others could fairly disagree with me on this. read more

I've been to Cowfish a few times, but this visit was so good that I had to write about it. The property is gorgeous, located on the South Shore of Long Island in the Hampton Bays. The restaurant is huge and always busy. They have two levels, and while I prefer sitting upstairs, both spaces are great. This time, I tried their New England Clam Chowder for the first time, and it was phenomenal. There wasn't a grain of sand to be found, and it was absolutely loaded with meaty, perfectly cooked, tender clams. The flavor was unforgettable. It managed to be creamy without feeling heavy. You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family and have a great time. read more

Walked in in a Monday night. It was pretty busy. Got a nice table outside but covered. Cool vibe. Cocktails were real good. Got the artichoke dip which was good and the brussel sprouts which were ok. Main dish was the wedge salad with blackened shrimp. Pretty good. Prices are fair considering the location. Overall a good experience. And good service read more

Had lunch with girlfriends of 40 years..food was superb and margaritas fabulous!! Beautiful scenery over looking Shinnecock canal!!

Look, I'm just going to get to the point. This place over looks the harbor, is festive and what some might call loud, and has excellent food. The menu isn't huge which always is a good sign. Make reservations if you can, it was packed at 9pm. The whole staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I like to have a good time with staff if they're up to it. These folks all had a fun time with us. A must do if you're in the Hamptons. read more

The food here is INCREDIBLE!!! We had a kicka** salad and the ribs were falling off the bone! The tuna dish had a great rub on it and the baked potato was out of this world. We LOVED everything here and were so satisfied with the meal. Service was great and can't wait to come back when it's warm out! read more

Great staff, very good food, one of the nicest outside spaces on Long Island, but a few accessibility issues. Accessibility wise: no van parking, but the parking staff did make us one. The bathrooms are a little tight and the entrance has a short, steep ramp that my scooter got stuck on. Easy rolling otherwise. We really enjoyed our experience here. read more

The restaurant is located on the South Shore of Long Island in Hampton Bays. My brother had been here several times but I had never been so we decided to try it for dinner. It is on two levels and there are indoor and outdoor bars. They have comfortable acoustics so it is easy to make conversation. The restaurant is on the water so the view is spectacular. They do have a walk in policy [first come first served] but for large groups it is advisable to make a reservation since it gets very crowded in the summer. We were seated upstairs and our waitress came over and took our drink order. My brother got a Miller lite and I got the Sunset Spritz [bourbon, Aperol, Lemon juice and procecco] it was delicious. We asked for water as well. Our waitress was very informative [I didn't get her name, she is listed on the receipt as 300B,] She knew the menu inside out and was able to delineate the special that my brother ordered. She also came back to the table several times to see if we needed anything and if the food was to our liking. She took out entree order-my brother ordered the whitefish special and a side of truffle fries and I ordered the Block Island swordfish which came with couscous and grilled asparagus. Our food came in a short span of time during which my brother got another Miller Lite. My brother enjoyed the whitefish special and the swordfish that I ordered was flaky and tender. The asparagus were large and grilled to perfection. The squash that came with my brother's meal, [he doesn't care for them] which I ate were very tasty and delicious. After we finished our meal, we decided to look at the desert menu. I was interested in getting a double espresso but they only had french press coffee with an espresso blend which I declined. My brother decided the get the hot fudge sundae and I opted for the vanilla been cheesecake topped with a fruit compote. Both were delicious. The restroom was clean and they offer valet parking, Parking a van may be a little more problematic according to the staff. It is a pricey meal but this is to be expected given the quality of the food and the gorgeous setting. There is more than adequate help and everyone is accommodating. I would recommend. read more

This was our fave spot from our trip to the Hamptons. It had both great flavor in the meals and an incredible ambiance. Haven't been for a couple of years and as it was a gorgeous day and I felt like an outdoor libation out in the Hamptons . The bar outside is a huge rectangle bar right on the water . There's boats galore , tons of friendly people and terrific bartenders . Had some Buffalo shrimp ands perfectly made Martini and just had a chill afternoon . The restaurant is top notch and there is even a little ferry that can take you to Rumba their sister location . No Alec Baldwin or Jerry Seinfeld sightings but still .... Place is great all around . Came here for a business meeting ... It was not my choice. I was worried it would be a little too 'corporste' when I saw they do lots of private events, etc. but it actually turned out great. The menu isn't the best ... I did struggle finding something that excited me. It was your typical upscale but unimaginative menu. However, I am pleased to say that the food was delicious and the portions were very good. The wait staff was outstanding. Very often, during a business meeting at other restaurants, I have had waitors interrupt the train of thought ... or mid-sebtence swoop in and ask if everything is alright or if more drinks are needed. Here, our waitress did a great job of appearing during very good times and not being overbearing, yet at the same time being helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is okay. Inside is kind of typical of an upscale corporate event-style venue. The upper outside deck is fantastic with views of the water and comfortable seating. I would come back if I was in the area. Though there are better food options elsewhere in the Hamptons, for a sit down restaurant that you can do business in, it hits all the right notes. Prices are high, as expected, in the Hamptons. read more

Sat outside at the bar. Had the Pineapple Paloma which was too sweet by half and too weak by half. Had the shrimp & crab remoulade. The guacamole needed salt, the seafood salads were more mayo than seafood, the toast was chewy, and the salad dressing on the greens was too sweet. Beautiful setting but the food & drink weren't worth it. read more

Food was amazing. Only issue was our service - we had 3-4 different servers that didn't know what was going on, what we ordered, or offer water & cocktail refills. Definitely not the level of service we're used to when we come here. Probably not coming here to celebrate another birthday. read more

This place is one of the most popular spots in Hampton Bays. Loves: + the burgers are the best value on the menu (which range from salads to asian-inspired dishes to sandwiches) + beautiful views right near the water + valet parking + friendly staff + popular spot for special events Due to the popularity of the restaurant, resys are highly recommended. If you cannot get one, walk-ins for small groups are still doable as they have first-come, first-served bar seating on the ground and top floors. Good luck and enjoy! read more

We went to cowfish there Friday after Thanksgiving.. we had a 7pm reservation for 6. It was very busy and we had to wait for a table but I will emphasize the the manager great care of our table and we were very happy. We sat by the bar in the back. (I say this because I forgot my waitresses name and if Cornish reads this, they will figure out who she was). I don't usually forget, so I apologize to her. Our waitress took amazing care of our table, knowing his long we waited. Her service was to notch and everything came out in sequence with no feel of being rushed at all. We had the Buffalo chicken, Brussels sprouts as parties. They were amazing and the shrimp were huge and on fire! We also had the roasted Brussels sprouts, spinach artichoke dip and the garlic humus. All apps were full of flavor and enjoyed by all. For dinner we had 2 orders of the Nola Shrimp which looked amazing and was enjoyed! We also had 2 orders of the NY step which was cooked and tasted to perfection. I kept mine simple and ordered their burger which was huge and delicious. The best of all, we got as a side their huge oversized loaded baked potatoes!!!!!!! OMG the potatoes were just unbelievable!!!! Huge, delicious filled with bacon cheese and sour cream!! Thank you Cornish for making our night a success and again I apologize for not remembering our name (she also works at the animal hospital in Riverhead.... That should help). If I find out her name, I will update this Review. Also, sorry that I don't take pictures tonight, I was too busy eating!! read more

We had a delicious meal at Cowfish the other day. We didn't have any appetizers so we jumped right into the entrees and drinks. My husband's rum lunch and my Malibu bay breeze were great. Needed a little mixing but we enjoyed them nonetheless. My rotisserie chicken was fantastic. I loved the sauce that came with it, as with my husband's steak. Really wanted to give more stars for this restaurant but one thing after another happened and just did not think it was up to par for a 5 Star rating unfortunately. Our table we had when we finally were able to sit was outside on a very nice patio/ deck setting looking out into some form water. We had a 9:30pm reservation and did not get seated till closer to 10pm due to the party that was at our table just would not leave. We went to the bar outside to get drinks while waiting and our bartender did not seem like the nicest out of the bunch. I had a pimms type drink and for the price it was it did not taste all that great. It was too sweet for my liking. When we finally got seated and ordered food all of our dishes came out accept for one other burger dish. Alot of us got burgers.. we had to ask two people about her dish. Our waitress had made a mistake and forgot to put her order in. The kitchen had to like restart the grill to finally bring her dish out.. meanwhile all of us were all done with our meals! Another drink that I had was an espresso martini and not sure what it was but it tasted kind of watery and it was not maybe shaken long enough to get that foam at top that most espresso martinis have. I got a burger with cheese and it comes with fries. The burger was nothing special... maybe it would have had better/more taste if I had a pickle and tomatoe on it. Well as our waitress brought out the dishes she said how my tomatoe and pickle slid off and how she would bring me some. I said it was fine.. I thought she would still bring it over .. but guess not. Anyways, everyone else in the party enjoyed their food and drinks. The ribs I was told were very tasty! We got two on the house desserts due to the mix up of the missing burger. Which was a nice gesture.. and her meal was comped. This place is a very happening night spot and I know it was busy and a holiday weekend but as you can see our service could have been a ton better. read more

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the Bay--perfect for brunch, dinner, or drinks! Ambiance & Service: The outdoor seating by the water is stunning, but the indoor dining was affected by bugs. Flies inside impacted our dining experience. Service was friendly and very attentive! Food: - Skillet Cornbread: A must-order! Perfectly sweet and crispy. Jalapeños baked inside add great flavor without too much spice. - Benedict: Tasty but a bit too rich for my taste. - Iron Skillet Cookie: Absolutely divine--warm, gooey choco chip cookie with ice cream and caramel! TL;DR: Gorgeous Bay views and great service. Try to eat outside. Don't miss the cornbread and skillet cookie! read more

Vibes immaculate, food mid for the price. The restaurant is set in this little house overlooking the bay, with grounds surrounding. We were able to seat 9 for a birthday dinner with advanced notice, and sat in a covered top deck. There was a live band playing below for the vibe, but not too loud thankfully! While the food was decent, it was kinda boring and didn't wow me for the price. The highlight of the evening was definitely the jalepeno (not spicy) cornbread with butter - our table devoured two! After dinner, we walked to the open air and seating bar to jam with the band, play some cornhole, take pictures, and people watch. A lovely way to end the day. The view is amazing and the restaurant is so bright and cheery. We came here for a light dinner mainly to enjoy the views and also try some of the food. The prices are rather high although the food tasted very good. It felt fancy but the food was fairly basic with many entrees priced over $30 for the more complicated items. We just felt like having a rest and enjoying some local dishes. Often they require reservations or they are very busy so we were lucky to be able to walk-in. However, we were told that we could not stay more than an hour or so because another group was coming in with reservations. Unusual location. Cowfish is tucked away in a Marina. For me, this is usually a red flag that means everything is deep fried and the staff look like pirates. Not here! Ambiance is wonderful, views are terrific and the staff are friendly and professional. The menu is interesting and eclectic. I started with a Manhattan, which was outstanding. Then, chowder which arrived room temp (way too cool) This was corrected with speed and zero hassle. Once warmed, it was delicious. The menu brags "a reuben like no other" TRUTH!
