We had a lovely dinner last night. The food was delicious and the view is amazing. I would have given it more stars but a few things bothered me. I had a delicious Caesar salad but had to ask for pepper. Rather than the server bringing a grinder she simply brought over a small pepper shaker. The mussels were good and they come with French fries but we had to request ketchup for the three of us who ordered this meal. If they wanted to up their game they good had fries ground pepper or have salt and pepper on every table. Ketchup is a staple with fries for most and we shouldn't have to ask for it. Lastly I requested a second bottle of sparkling water and needed to ask twice for it. So overall nice place but the attention to details could improve

We stayed at the soundview and had dinner here. We did have a limited menu because it was a weekday but everything we had was very good. The regular menu on weekends looked great. Great views of the water at this location.

My friend and I had the most wonderful birthday dinner here! The restaurant is beautiful and the views are to die for. Excellent drinks, delicious food... We had a wonderful time and I will definitely return the next time. I am out east.

Honestly, the best dining experience my fiance and I have ever had. Our server, Alex, was phenomenal and took care of us the whole night! The food was incredible as well. We had the lobster bisque, schnitzel, bolognese, and cauliflower and each thing was better than the next! We had complimentary champagne and dessert which was unexpected but so kind! 10/10 would recommend and definitely planning to come back! (Def recommend the cauliflower!!!)

This place used to be so lovely. And it had an interesting food menu with a high quality wine list. Now... it is not friendly for vegetarians; the wine list is tiny and mostly local wines. Very mid. They used to have delicious veggie bowls and hummus. The new menu is mostly seafood. But, really, if you like wine, this is not the place. The view is spectacular. It is worth a visit for that. But, be prepared for the menu. The mushroom toast was not creamy - it was tart and the mushrooms were rubbery.

Made reservations here around sunset time because I heard the view was insane. Came off season (March) and midweek (Thursday) and it was nice and quiet, only like 6 or so other tables with us. View would have been much better without the unfortunate fog we had that evening but I enjoyed watching all the ducks fish for food in the part of the water I could see. Sadly they didn't have a mocktail menu and only had one non-alcoholic beer so I had that and it was fine. Their focaccia bread was killer and my husband enjoyed his oysters. I also ordered the squash soup which didn't blow me away too much. The scallops were delicious, just wished they were over risotto. And the brussels sprouts were fantastic as well. Worth a visit.

Go for the view, enjoy the ambience of the space and go at sunset. The cocktails are good, the seafood is delicious, the lounge area has better acoustics than the dining room if you want to have a conversation. The piano bar room is cozy. Expect to pay some $$$$. Thank you.

Monday June 30th. dinner, Great views, manager, service and ambiance. Seacar salad with chicken was extraordinary, Burata salad was ok (Not good quality Burata). Baked clams were very salty ! Not good. Burger was good but again too salty. Swordfish dish: (disappointment) The fish fillet was very fresh but the Au poivre sauce was very very very salty and uneatable so i return it and the manager on duty delivery him self the Ceacar salad with chicken which was amazing as i mention above ! Gelato was amazing. Owner and / or GM should check on chef more closely ... chefs today think that they are above and beyond everyone - Not Good... Prices could be lower 10-15% for the food quality that the restaurant provides.

Right on Long Island Sound, The Halyard is a great spot for summer lunch. The food and service are wonderful. The negative reviews are simply wrong and do not reflect our experience.

S'mores parfait and pumpkin pie.

We had Thanksgiving buffet at The Halyard. The entire experience was exceptional. The buffet was creative and delicious including local North Fork cheese, butternut squash hummus, moist and perfectly roasted turkey, whipped marshmallows and sweet potatoes, finished with S'mores parfait and all our favorite pies. Our table agreed that the baked clams were the best we've ever had. The view of Long Island sound from our table was spectacular. Elton who served us knew what we needed before we did. The chef and manager came by to check on our table of 6. Highly recommend for special occasions.

I have to give this 5 stars for the location and view. The restaurant is gorgeous inside , piano bar and by the water. The low tide bar is also amazing but unfortunately only open during the summer. I have not tried the food. The drinks are a hit though. Solid old fashioned.

Good food, extremely slow service. We sat with the menu for at least 30 minutes before a server took our drink orders. We sat another 30 minutes before the drinks came to the table and we were finally able to place food orders. As for the food, the fish was very fresh, flaky and tasty. Clean in flavor but not under seasoned. The salad I ordered was very earthy and tasted great but it was definitely overdressed. Thankfully I ordered some of their amazing focaccia that cut the saltiness of the greens. The menu isn't extensive but I think there's something for everyone. It's one of the better restaurants we've tried in Greenport. Although slow, the service is very friendly. Servers are knowledgeable of the area and happy to give suggestions for what to do in town.

So we stopped for an early diner. Ambiance was nice, servers were as well, got the food served- I had their "special "burger- forgot what they call it , and my wife some chicken soulvaki. Her chicken was a bit dry, but not a big deal. My beef patty was a bit unusual, in a sense that if tasted more like some sort of a meatball rather than a burger patty, but again, not such a big deal. Would I get it again? Probably not, was different and not necessarily the best choice to put it in a bun and call it a burger. The fries were nice and crispy, and the coleslaw unfortunately had no taste. We finished the dinner, got home and about half an hour later my stomach started to rumble. Became very bloated and will spare you guys the details, but it was a horrible night, with chills, the runs, etc. That was actually the reason that compelled me to write a review for this place, otherwise I would have put it into the average and somewhat a bit pricy type of places. But they added the little extra on top. Hope I'm just an isolated case.

This place never disappoints. The attention to detail from the kitchen puts Hellenic a cut above…read moreother restaurants in the area. The food is always on point. I had the lamb shoulder this afternoon and it was perfection. Simple sides of roasted potatoes and cippolini onions are genius. Selection of local wines is outstanding. Great selection and its nice to see support for our local producers. As good as the wine is, be sure to have a homemade Arnold Palmer. The absolutebest.
