Upscale American food at a beautiful riverfront spot. We got the Crab Cake and Lamb Chops off the main menu, and the Ciabatta Bread, Sea Scallops and Half Duck off the specials menu. The Crab Cake was a hefty portion and a delicious start to the meal. Spicy, tomatoey olive oil was great with the Ciabatta. Lamb Chops were cooked to medium and the blackberry fig sauce complemented it nicely. The Sea Scallop was a very solid dish overall, no complaints! The Duck portion was massive and succulent, although it was definitely an ordeal to extract all the meat. Initially they said it would be around a 45 min wait but the manager(?) came out and moved a few incoming parties around to accommodate us, awesome service. Thus, we were seated soon after arrival. Our reservations were for 2:30 pm. I had my entire day planned based on these reservations (vineyards etc) Get there at 2:25 pm and hostess said there is a 25 min wait. I told her I have reservations. She tells me EVERYBODY has reservations. Um ok no problem. So we wait. 25 min later still no table. We don't get our table till 3:10. We get seated. Waiter doesn't come to our table till 3:30 pm. Exactly one hour after our reservation time. At this point we don't even have time for apps. We order our drinks and main meal. Meals come out 25 mins later. I got the blt sandwich but there is no bacon on it. I didn't even say anything because I couldn't wait another 25 mins for a new sandwich. I used to come here all the time and tonight reminded me why. Food is always fresh and delicious. Though it's an old building, seating is outside overlooking a beautiful lake which is perfect for a summers day. Friendly and attentive staff and reasonably priced. Truffle Ricotta was a massive hit, creamy and bright. Also seemed to be extremely popular as anyone coming out of the kitchen was carrying a plate of it to bring to a table. So as my previous review gave 4 stars. We were a large group and we had a good time. I guess the company we were with was a driving force for the 4 Stars. Unfortunately I feel that I have to take one star away with this visit. Allow me to explain. First it was a rainy dreary day. Parking, Oye, very limited and difficult pulling in and out. It took a minute to seat us but not a big deal. Only one bathroom in the restaurant which was a bit uncomfortable. We estates on the rear deck where there are plastic or vinyl windows. As I mentioned it as rainy and cold and the cold wind was coming through the windows. They have heaters on the rear deck but they were not very effective. I had the Rigatoni Bollonese, which was very good. My wife had some kind of chicken. Not the greatest. I know they get good reviews but this day was a bust. read more

We dined here after visiting a nearby winery as a table of 6, we had 5pm reservations on a Saturday evening in late July. It was a beautiful day and we were lucky to get a spot right in front. We walked along the water to our table and there was a wonderful relaxed ambiance, with plenty of little hang out areas. We started with a garden salad as well as bread with sautéed cherry tomatoes. I ordered the Halibut special with artichoke, cherry tomatoes, bok choy (which I wish there was more of), and angel hair pasta. My husband had the halibut oreganato. Both were very good. Our server Martin was attentive, everything was well orchestrated. We saw a family of swans swim by and a few kayakers. We had a lovely relaxing meal in a gorgeous setting. My wife and I went here after seeing pictures and videos of the view. We made reservations and showed up at the reserved time. We walk up to a line of people waiting at an empty hostess station. When the hostess returned I walked up and told her I had a reservation for 3pm and she said "There's a bit of a wait, head downstairs and we will get you when the table is ready l" without even looking up at me. I thought to myself isnt the pount if a reservation to avoid the wait? Whatever, we wait for about 15 minutes and to nobody's surprise I see the hostess wandering around looking for someone. I'm pretty sure its me shes trying to find and she doesn't remember what I look like because she never even looked up at me during our check in. I walk up to her and she says "did i talk to you upstairs?" I was like "yup, table for 2" and she seats us at the table thats been empty since we got there. Now we sit there for 15/20 minutes with the menu and not a single waiter or manager in sight. Finally, the waiter comes and we give him out drink, app, and main course order since we had time to read the menu 5 times over. Another 15 minutes pass before we get our drinks (a mule which was good and a spritz served in a martini glass). Its now been over 30 minutes since we sat down and we have no food and the drinks are gone before the apps arrive. The bus girl hands us our app and we asked for 2 small plates to share it. She says "someone will bring." Needless to say those plates never made it. Food came from a kitchen staff member and still haven't seen the waiter since we ordered. Finally, get a drink order in when the waiter comes over probably an hour since we last talked to him at this point. We got desserts that were mediocre, payed the bill and left. Won't be going back. I went the other night with a friend and we sat outside. It was a lovely, summer night. Our waiter was Sean and he was very sweet and accommodating. We ordered appetizers and entrees. I had the tuna tacos for an app, my friend, got the scallops and for entrees, I had the pork chop milanese and my friend had the halibut with risotto. She also had two glasses of paumonk resling. The bill was about $152. Each glass of wine was $15. The meal was good, but quite expensive. I wouldn't say, its a place I could frequent often, due to the high prices. Made a reservation ahead of time days advance, we were a party of 7 celebrating my mom's birthday. We were very excited to come and try this place and left disappointed. We were treaded poorly. Staff was rude when we tried checking in and we were sent away. After finally letting us check in they said they didn't have a table for us that they're too busy. And we over heard that they were setting space a for a party of 40. Again, we also made a reservation an advance. We couldn't get a table at all and ended up leaving the restaurant. Day tripping on Long Island came to an end with this amazing place. Let's start with seating.. there is a deck which is covered with plastic type walls. Don't make reservation for this spot. Make tour reservations to sit outside. You're sitting right in-front of the lake. They have many tables in the shade and tables with umbrellas. Great place for pictures, watching kayakers float by. They have Adirondack chairs where you can wait for your table and get a drink. We went for lunch but decided to sit in the Adirondack chairs with some drinks and music that we ended up actually having dinner. We started off with then bbq shrimp which came with guac and pico de gallo - amazing.. Not what I expected but dang was it good. We then had Caesar salad which was so creamy, delish. I absolutely love this place. I was last here in 2018 and prices were a bit higher. I remember they served duck back then. Was here a day ago and I love that prices have come down. Dishes are delicious and affordable. Plus, you can't beat that view! I love sitting by the river. I went on a Tuesday and it was relatively packed. I can't imagine visiting on a weekend I believe this place does take reservations. I highly encourage doing so when coming on the weekend. I ordered a mojito and it was delicious as well. Drove out east for the day to celebrate my wife's birthday with her family. To start, the parking is absolutely abysmal - there are only a few spots in front of the actual restaurant, and the spill over lots across the street make you rely on a gap in traffic (which on Main Street Riverhead is always a gambit) I'm not being too critical on that just based on the location, but it would have been nice to maybe have a cross walk or SOMETHING so it's safer to cross the street. Reservation was made for 6pm and we arrived a few minutes early, but for some reason were not sat until 30-40 minutes later. I understand that it was a Saturday night, but if you claim to not take walk ins, then there must have been something going on with the way they sat people. -1 star Once we were eventually sat, it did take some time for our waiter to come over, which he was very pleasant. There were a number of really good dishes on the menu, and with the party we were with, there was something for everyone. We tried to place a simple order of pasta without butter for our kids, but there seemed to be some sort of issue with that, which I found weird. I ordered the Tuna Tacos which were good, but needed a little bit of salt to tie them together since the cucumber overpowered the whole appetizer. My MIL got the shrimp salsa which was fantastic (I got to try it and wish I got that instead). I ordered the duck breast, but my wife and MIL's order was incorrectly placed (the gnocchi special was with a pesto sauce and the regular was with a tomato base sauce, hence the confusion) with the kitchen so but the time all our food was at the table, the moment has passed and half the party was almost done with their entrees. -1 star Overall, I thought the food was good, not great, but with the location being right on the water, it's definitely geared more towards a romantic couples date night. This is my favorite restaurant in Long Island. Not only is their food and drinks amazing, but the views are to die for! The restaurant is nestled right on the Peconic River, with outside and inside dining options. Their lunch menu is updated daily, and dinner menu seasonly. We went for dinner and started off with cocktails. Then ordered the Goat Cheese Bruschetta and Seared Tuna as appetizers. I chose Salmon for dinner, which was pan seared over sauteed spinach with creamy risotto, and let me say, best Salmon plate I've ever had! Farm Country Kitchen advertises themselves as the essence of rural North Fork living with the freshest ingredients, and they are absolutely correct! You can taste the freshness in all of their dishes. If you're in the North Fork area, I highly recommend Farm Country Kitchen for lunch or dinner! We've been here quite a bit since my last review and I have to say that each time was amazing! This past visit was more of the same amazing food, service and atmosphere. We always like eating out in the enclosed patio, and in the cold winter months they have their heaters going, which make it nice and cozy. The view is beautiful and it was just perfect during out last visit with the snow all around. I had the halibut which was cooked to perfection. My husband had an amazing steak and our friends had the duck. Every dish was perfect! They also have a great wine selection and awesome cocktails, which we all started with. We all had the margarita's which were delicious. I forgot to ask if they still allow you to bring your own wine, but even if they don't, their selections are great and their prices are very reasonable. This place gets really crowded in the warmer months, but it was also very crowded when we went. It's a good thing we called ahead and made a reservation because the place was packed. I was surprised since it was an extremely frigid night, but that is how great this place is! We are lucky to live so close, but if you don't, it is definitely worth the trip! read more

I was disappointed that the covering to the deck blocks the view of the river, unless you're standing. Sitting outdoors by the river would have been a better view for sure. We had the fried artichoke appetizer which was really tender on the inside and expertly fried on the outside. We got 2 cocktails to start off the dinner. I got the lamb chops which were made medium as requested, really delicious, with vegetables and potato. I would recommend the warm apple cobbler for dessert. I really wanted to like this place. After my recent, third (and last) visit...I give up. There are so many nice things about it: Its not easy to get to, which makes it kind of cool. Management has done an admirable job of creating customer parking, the building itself is very nice. The view and the vibe are excellent. The staff are all warm and friendly. Unfortunately, food is a significant part of the restaurant business and the food here just isn't good. Goat Cheese Bruschetta was toasted bread with a shmear of what I guess was goat cheese, topped with whole berries: strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Bizarre. My half duck arrived Luke warm and dry from an obvious re heating, covered with a jellied demi glaze. It sat, inexplicably, on a bed of wilted arugula. Sides of limp green beans and pasty sweet potatoes were served separately. My wife's gnocchi were almost full defrosted. They arrived in flavorless red sauce topped with cold balls of mozzarella. I asked for a glass of Merlot. The server returned to notify me that "we don't have merlot, but we have a moltepulciano, which is the same thing" (it is not the same thing) I could go on, but feel I have made my point. Oh, almost forgot, the above plus a cocktail rang up to $75pp including the tip which, a note on the menu asked me to leave in cash to offset credit card fees that restaurants pay. (Not my problem) So, as a local resident who really wants to support the local dining scene in Riverhead, I cross yet another place off the list. Sad. read more

We love the owners and their family and the chefs and staff. Fried Artichokes are a must! Everything is delicious though! We always get the Serano on french bread with no gorganzola - add mozzeralla, arugula and their most delicious creamy horseradish sauce. I love to try different sandwhiches too as they change up their printed menu I believe daily. The main menu stays the same. So many good apps, dishes, pasta and more! read more
