    Burger and fries.
    Rohan B.

I used to drive by this place all the time last year, so I decided to try it out. It is basically a mini gold place with a small restaurant attached to it. It gives big 1960s vibes. I decided to get a classic burger and fries. Honestly just off the food I would give it 3 stars. The burger wasn't frozen, but it wasn't the best. It was a bit over done which was a sentiment shared by another patron. The fries were on par with Macdonalds fries, they were pretty generic. The extra star is because of the mini golf and it was a nice place to sit. Many of the reviews say the fried chicken is great so I want to come back to try that.

The chicken! You want the chicken! NOT the wings & not the sandwich. The box of chicken! Get a 4 piece to stay & a 4 piece to go(you're gonna want more) & ask for extra Coleslaw! You're gonna want extra coleslaw. This is the 2nd year I've dragged my cousin & FoodBoo out here just for the chicken. I also ordered the banana shake. Very good! Yeah there's a real banana in it. Yaaaay! If you're out on the North Fork make a trip. It's worth it. 5-28-2017

Drossos has been around forever. We've always stopped here for mini golf and soft serve. The staff is always very helpful, clean and friendly. This was my first time trying the food! The broccoli tempura was delicious, fresh and crispy. I will definitely be back to try their other menu offerings.

I must've driven past this place on 25A in Greenport a thousand times on my way out to the end of the North Fork and stopped by for the first time for a snack. First off, it's got food, ice cream and.... mini golf. Because why not. Their menu is really interesting and what stood out were Icelandic hotdogs. I stopped by for ice cream but remembering the time I spent in Reykjavík having the best hotdogs ever, I couldn't resist but try their spin. Yes, they're slopped in remoulade, mustard, crispy fried onions. For me, it just didn't taste like an Icelandic hotdog. More like a kielbasa. Even the crispy fried onions weren't the same as one would get in Iceland. Oh well. At $11 with a side of fries or tater tots certainly costs more than one at Byron's in Reykjavík. Their ice cream though, excellent and they have a nice selection of flavors to choose from. Service at the counter is really courteous and friendly and I'll certainly be back for ice cream.

Best fried chicken I've ever had! Spicy batter used gives the chicken a nice crispy (without being greasy) finish. Delish! Not cheap. Be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. You can always play mini-golf while you wait!

After having visited and thoroughly enjoyed the Stony Brook location multiple times, this was a…read morehighly disappointing experience. Popped in for a quick weekend lunch since they had visibly open tables and we were seated right away. The person who showed us to our table led the way, and then dropped menus and utensils in a booth and kept walking. As soon as we made our way through the small restaurant, the absolute filth of the place was the only thing I could focus on. There were food scraps and garbage littering almost every surface of the floor. Our own table had dirty napkins, crumbs and half spilled sugar packets underneath, and the bench needed a wipe down before I could sit. Condiments on the table were dirty and if you moved them, the table was covered with crumbs underneath so no one is moving the condiments to clean. The bathroom was equally disgusting and unkempt. Despite all signs pointing to that we should've left immediately, we were hungry and had been driving for awhile. The food/drink was nothing like the other locations we've visited. In my 20 years of ordering Mimosas, I have never before been asked if I wanted a single or a double. It's prosecco, not shots. I went for the single because my expectations were low, and was presented with a weird little lowball glass of pineapple juice and a jigger of prosecco. That is completely ridiculous to cut a serving in half and call it a "single". For $12 you can buy an entire decent bottle of prosecco, and probably at least three bottles of whatever cheap they're serving. It feels like a cheat not to get a full serving. I ordered the Bootlegger for my meal which is fried chicken, melted cheese, bacon and Russian dressing on a roll. It arrived on a tiny hamburger bun with no dressing. Our server came once to ask how everything was the moment the plates were set down, and left when I told her I hadn't tried it yet. It then took about 10 minutes to obtain a side of dressing once I noticed my sandwich was dry. It was edible, but definitely not worth ever having again. My husband ordered corned beef hash and eggs, which was a plate filled with boxed potato sprinkled with pieces of corned beef. Eggs were fine. We did not use any of the condiments since it was clear they hadn't been swapped out or cleaned, and really tried to get out of this dirty environment as fast as possible. Servers were all concentrated in the bar area, some on phones clearly not busy...so it makes one wonder why no one thought to sweep the floor or wipe down a table. The state of the dining room was truly disgusting and honestly surprising. Our server barely attended to us so we opted not to bring this complaint to her directly and judging by the demeanor of the other staff, there wasn't a manger on duty. The bigger problem here is that if the public-facing front of house can look that way, I can only imagine how the kitchen is kept. We will never return to this location and sincerely hope it can be brought up to the same standards as the others.

Why have I been walking past Alpina everytime I'm in Greenport?…read more Was it the dark atmosphere? Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.

Step inside, though, and boom--you're transported into an elegant, beautifully designed dining room that feels straight out of a Michelin dream. We waited a bit for our table, but they handed us complimentary champagne, so... patience restored. The $125 prix-fixe menu was worth every bite. Picking a favorite course feels like choosing between yourbfavorite child . The milk bread, oysters, and baked clams were standouts. That celery vinaigrette on the oysters was next level. The agnolotti pasta was unforgettable. I had the baked chicken entrée and discovered a new obsession with turnip cakes. Who knew? Dessert sealed the deal: molten chocolate cake and passion fruit panna cotta. An absolutely perfect mic drop to end the meal. If I had to nitpick, the drink prices lean toward Manhattan territory. But overall, I'm a huge fan and rooting hard for this spot. If you're anywhere near Greenport or Southold, do yourself a favor and book it.
