    summer succotash tartine

Bruce & Son is a favorite whenever we're visiting the area. They never disappoint. They also have decent vegetarian options for our family. We always make a reservation and have never had to wait. The space is bright and uncluttered and the food is always fresh and delicious. We had the blueberry hotcake, BLT, omelet and seasonal summer succotash tartine - I don't think I've ever thought about pairing ricotta with curry, but they did and it was delicious. All so so good. My son was celebrating his birthday so they were kind enough to bring out a candle for his hotcake so we could sing to him. It was a lovely brunch and we'll definitely be back.

What a great place for breakfast or brunch ! They prefer if you make a reservation as the restaurant is small with limited seating and with just a few tables outside. The menu is unique with a twist on some of the basic breakfast meals . The owner was so friendly and helpful. We did make a reservation and were immediately seated . I enjoyed the egg sandwich with cheese , sugar bacon , pickled onions and greens .. soooo delicious! The pickled onions added a fantastic layer of flavor to the sandwich and the bacon was nicely crisp. They have a variety of coffee's, lattes, juice , wines and cocktails. I did order a cup of coffee , it was a very small serving for $5 but was very good and full bodied . A little larger cup would have been appreciated. Hope to return soon !

Simple menu with not so simple flavors, Bruce & Son rotates their menu and offers a variety of interesting breakfast and lunch items. With indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant is lovely and offers fantastic window or fantastic views of the bustling town. Reservations are highly recommend, however the cancelation policy is extremely stiff. Charging $25 per person, you'd better make sure you make your reservation! They did text to confirm which I thought was a nice touch and our service once there was outstanding, friendly and pleasant!

A MUST in Greenport. Every time we're in town we are sure to stop here for brunch. The egg sandwich is incredible - the sugar bacon, pickled onions, and dijonnaise just elevate this from a normal egg sandwich so something so flavorful. They also have a fun selection of coffees/teas. My husband is so picky with his bacon but he always says they make it perfectly. The staff is also very friendly and attentive.

Incredible! It is a bit of a wait for the food but sooooo good and fresh! The sweet bacon was DELICIOUS! Best place ever! Make a reservation its cozy

Exceptional brunch experience! Bruce & Son is aesthetically pleasing, uncluttered and welcoming. By recommendation of friends we split the hotcake (not to be missed!) enjoyed the BLT, and egg plate. The bacon was next level. I had the mushroom latte and it was delicious. Overall farm to table fresh vibes that come through with every bite.

A friend and I randomly gambled on this place as we looked it up. And I must say it is now one of my favorite places on Long Island. The place was delightfully busy and even without a reservation we still managed to get a table. The ambience and the staff were absolutely amazing. The menu was highly curated, and the food tasted equally as amazing to match the time and effort put into it. The drinks were really thought out and intrinsic. Will definitely be back soon!

The Quick: Innovative delicious food that will satisfy any adventurous eater. We always have an incredible meal- especially if you order the honey cakes .. so indulgent! I usually opt for something savory and try to split with the sweet goodness. Make reservations!

Loved this place recommended by our Airbnb host. Great location in downtown Greenport. They squeezed us in since we didn't have a reservation. The service was friendly and attentive. Perfectly cooked eggs, fantastic sourdough toast, delicious mimosas that weren't too sweet. The butternut hotcake was like a dessert - so tasty! Charming yet modern decor. So glad we came.

Came here because our original spot was fully booked and the host was kind enough to fit my group of 5, despite it being busy as well. Started off with an iced latte which was sooo good and then tried their mimosa, made with fresh squeezed orange juice which was a first for me. The BLT was a very generous portion but it was super delicious! Such a cute brunch spot for sure!

This is an absolutely perfect restaurant for breakfast & lunch! Everything is a hit - from standbys like the egg sandwich to the seasonal items that rotate in on the menu, it's always impossible to pick because everything is so good. (The summer BLT was enormous! I ate it for two meals!) Do not miss the grilled romaine when it's on the menu in the summer. Also still thinking about the curried cauliflower dish w/ egg, pickled peppers, and labneh. Heaven. The mushroom latte is worth every penny, so warming and delicious. It's a small space, it gets busy, with a small staff and a tiny kitchen - so it's wise to make a reservation especially if you are a larger group, but also even if you are just two people. The staff is super kind and wants to be sure you have a great time. To those people complaining about staff and not having a reservation, I implore you to be kind/patient and understand this is a small business doing its best. It's not NYC and for that I am glad :) Can't wait to come back here next time I am in town!

An upscale, local restaurant with good service and fresh, local food. We stopped in for breakfast and decided to have the BLT. It was massive and absolutely perfect. Toasted to perfection and with a spicy mayo that made for a wonderful flavor and crunch. Cold brew and cappuccino coffees were made to order and with all the artistry you would expect from a place like this. Delicious and fresh.

The staff was extremely kind. They found out it was my boyfriend's birthday and they made an extra effort to give us a better seat and they also surprised us with a candle!they were very attentive and nice. The food was also amazing.the menu is very simple but you can tell it is good quality. We hade a great time having breakfast!

They refused to serve me because I had a service dog. They said we could eat outside. I explained the law to them, and they didn't care.

Why have I been walking past Alpina everytime I'm in Greenport?…read more Was it the dark atmosphere? Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Don't be a afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and the penguin shaker.
