Duckwalk wasn't my favorite winery of the trip. As others have mentioned when you walk in, it isn't really clear where to go to check-in. The interior seems to maybe be an old church or something like that. They do have a large tasting bar. You grab a sheet and pick the four wines you'd like to taste. They then write them on a paper plate with plastic cups. Now for the price of the tasting, the paper plate and cups work. However, I would honestly prefer to pay more for the tasting and have it be a bit of a nicer setup. You then take your cups outside. The outside area is big an open, but there was no patio cover, and the plantings etc left a little to be desired. The vineyard was quite beautiful though. My favorite of the wine was probable their reds. If you are looking for a cheap place to do a tasting with a decent sized outdoor area, then Duckwalk does fit the bill. If you are looking for something a bit fancier this may not be the best fit.
Although the reviews aren't the best, and locals don't recommend this, we still stopped by. While there was no one else there, we did share a red wine flight and a glass of Chardonnay. We even purchased two attractive tee shirts. This place does have a nice logo and name. The wine flight was in 4 really cute small etched Duck Walk monogrammed glasses. One of the cabs tasted like it had been open a few days back, but the other reds were fresh. I think if you choose the red flights they pick out, you should always have fresh, tasty wine! And you usually can't go wrong with whites, since they still taste good even if not freshly opened. When we went, someone was starting to play music. We're glad we stopped and hope others will give this place another try.
I stopped in here recently, coming back from my weekly Sunday drive to the Hamptons. I only went to the tasting room for wine sampling. It costs $13 to sample five wines. I sampled only dessert wines. Matt was my server. My favorite was the Blueberry Port, which I chased afterward with some dark chocolate. Matt explained that the dark chocolate intensifies the wild Maine blueberry flavor. I did not taste the difference. Maybe I would if I were given a higher quality brand of chocolate, like Godiva or Valrhona. My least favorite wine was the Boysenberry Fruit Wine. I asked Matt if I could have some chocolate with it to improve the taste. He responded that champagne makes the best pairing for the creation of a "boysenberry mimosa". So he popped open a bottle of champagne and added some boysenberry wine to it, and I still did not like the wine. Matt was an outstanding server who is knowledgeable about all the wines he gives samples of. I could see him becoming a sommelier who pairs food with wine. Snacks, like cheese and crackers, are available for purchase in the tasting room. Duckwalk's website states that appointments can be made for wine sampling; and that groups who are more than 15 minutes late may be asked to purchase the bottle in lieu of the tasting. Go to duckwalk.com or email info@duckwalk.com for more information. I spent about 15 minutes in the tasting room before I left to drive back home. Duckwalk was my rest stop. The next time I come here I will come with a group of friends to attend their events. They have live music every weekend from 1 - 5 pm. They also have a 140 acre vineyard behind the tasting room. Lastly, the vineyard is a popular wedding and event destination site. I highly recommend Hamptons visitors check out Duckwalk Vineyards. The wine is quite good here although I have tasted better at other vineyards on the Island.
Of all the vineyards on the east end, this may have been my least favorite that I've ever been to. We walked into the large tasting room, there was a lot of "bar" space but only 1 person behind it so we waited for a long time to helped. They give you the menu and say pick 4 and that's it. I attached a picture of what they give you, but it's literally 4 plastic Dixie cups, they pour it and send you on your way. There's so many options of vineyards, I just recommend going to one that's going to serve you in a glass, one wine at a time, describe it to you and have a place for you to sit.
Pit stop at a wine vineyard on the way to Montauk is a good idea. I guess it is off season now so not a lot of people on Saturday plus I get there early. Even it in September but the weather is still very hot. We get wine testing course $16 each not include some snacks. Live music on, poor puppy is so hot but they have cold water so it help a lot. Nice sipping wine and see peaceful view.
I had a Groupon which included tasting for two, 4 wines of your choice and cheese and crackers. There was a large group of what appeared to be 21 year olds, for a birthday. With many screeching, loud members. I guess with Covid, the pubs are closed and limiting numbers. For winery visits I prefer a more serene space with music, which they did have. The outdoor space itself was relatively spacious with a nice view of the vineyards. The service was friendly and it was nice to sit outside on a warmish sunny spring day. I selected all reds with the Cabernet Sauvignon being my favorite but wasn't smitten with any of them. Maybe the screaming got me on edge. The cheese, a flavorful Beecher was quite good. They had Carr crackers which didn't eat. I do plan to try their other location on the North Fork and hope for a better experience. The bathroom was clean and they do take precautions with hand sanitizer and limited people indoors, which was important.
Went to Duckwalk for a friends birthday. We did a tasting. The staff were all super nice. You got to choose four of their wines. They had every option from whites, to reds, to rosés and dessert wines. They even give you a little piece of chocolate if you get the dessert wine. They had a live band outside that people were enjoying. You can also sit inside or outside. It was an extremely pleasant experience. The wine was delicious and I would definitely recommend.
This afternoon while in the Hampton decided to start the day with a little tasting. The wine tasting was $13 each and u get four wines of your choice. That makes all the difference as u can taste what U like.. I started with the 2017 reserve Chardonnay #10. It was dry but it's in oak barrels which I love.. hate steel barrels.. it was def deserving of the gold . Make sure u try this. Next choice was gatsby red #9. it ripe bold full bodied red wine, plum cherry and spice flavors. It's a semi sweet wine. The hubs and I loved this, great flavor 2017 pinot meunier: #8 this was nice strong but not bad.. def a nice Pairing with steak.. 2016 blueberry port #10 #10 #10 ahhhhmazong dessert wine. We had to get this. Will indulge after dinner at home.. Definitely coming back with my girlfriends .. COVID: plastic tasting cups, only taste outdoor but who cares they have amazing views.. friendly staff..
This is my first Vineyard to visit and to participate a wine tasting with a group of friends. Something new to do to celebrate my birthday. We brought in our own food to make our own cheese and meat board with few other things. Half of us went for wine tasting, took our time and just chit chat. I don't remember how many wines we are allow to try out but I'm sure it's like 4 or something. There was 2-3 other parties there and we were all friendly with each other plus the staff that works there. Our bartender Nicole, she was so friendly and she spoiled me a little bit as for my birthday gift. A BIG Kudos to you, thank you for treating our group with lots of respect and kindness. Blueberry port is the BEST THING I ever drank!!!! If you have not yet try it, please do!!!! I'm so glad I saved the best for last. And I actually brought a full glass of Blueberry Port to go. So GOOD! Here's a group shot... blurred out for privacy of my friends.
The name says it all. We should have walked out! Underwhelming wines served in plastic cups. Flights served on paper plates with descriptions written on them. Unfriendly, pompous attitude. Will not return.
A positive experience at the Duckwalk Vineyards! The goat cheese and crackers complimented our wine tasting selections nicely. The outside seating has pretty views of the winery and fountain with blooming seasonal flowers. My favorite was the ice wine - which is a dessert wine and quite delicious. We went on a weekday so it was pretty empty. Tastings were presented in plastic cups and we purchased the wine glasses separately. Nice stop and experience overall!
This is an amazing winery plus PET-FRIENDLY!!! Elaine was super attentive and friendly. I bought in my doggie and make sure they allowed pets in order to go inside to try the wine tasting. She recommended great wines that catered to my taste. The wines were refreshing and delicious! I ordered the Windmill White, Windmill Rose, Great Gasby and the Aphrodite wines. All are semi-sweet which is what I like. My fave was the Windmill White and Aphrodite dessert wine. I also got some crackers and cheese to go with the wine. It was a perfect day to grab some wine and have my furry companion next to me. Next time I'm in town I will definitely visit again! Highly recommended it!
Wine tasting: $12 for 4 -- loved their selections here! They sell a range of dry to sweet wines here. Lovely staff! The only thing is I checked in on Yelp and they didn't take my Yelp check-in offer (only 10% off so no big deal, but Yelp should just take out the offer if it doesn't work!) Get the APHRODITE!
If you're heading out to the Hamptons, Duck Walk Vineyard is a great spot to stop and relax for a bit. The wine tasting is $16 for four pours, and they have a nice variety of reds, whites, and rosés to choose from. They also offer charcuterie boards with cheese, crackers, olives, and spreads--good for snacking while you taste. There's plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas, and they usually have live music on the weekends. The atmosphere is really laid-back and easygoing. Whether you're with friends, on a date, or just looking to unwind, it's definitely worth a visit. read more
I really enjoyed this stop in NY! Such a great experience! Definitely recommend getting the tasting option so you can try a selection. We sat outside and walked through the garden with the grapes. The bartender was very helpful suggesting the wines. Gorgeous layout! read more

Outdoor Patio Tasting: Duckwalk on the South Shore is a small and intimate vineyard. Inside, masks are required. There is no seating inside, only out back on the patio and on the side of the building. Located in Watermill, take Sunrise Hwy until it ends. Keep going East and Duckwalk will be on the left. There's a large parking lot on the side and back of the building. Entrances are in the front & back of the building. Bathrooms in the front. Inside, the winery is fairly large, nice and wide open. There are lots of wine, snacks, and cheeses for sale. Outside, the patio is beautiful with brick work throughout. A little pond and waterfall give off a relaxing vibe while overlooking the small but well kept vineyard. On the weekends, live music on the patio! I saw lots of people bring their own food/snacks in coolers which is a good idea. Due to COVID & social restrictions, seating is only outdoor. Masks are required. Tables are spread far apart outside. The bathrooms were fairly clean. No reservations are required (a lot of other wineries out East are requiring reservations with a credit card). The prices are very reasonable! Tastings (4 kinds of wine) cost $12 each. This is a great way to learn what you like before buying a large bottle. Bottles will cost around $20. The service was just ok, not overly friendly. Overall, I'm happy with my first trip to Duck Walk! The prices are great. This is a great place to visit on a beautiful summer day. read more

Duckwalk Vineyards is located in Water Mill, Long Island. We did not make any reservation and walked in on a Saturday evening at about 4:30 PM. It was just the two of us and hence there was no waiting. The weather was nice and sunny. They had live music playing. Just a heads up, it is about 2.5 hours from Upper West Side and the Vineyards close at 7. So I recommend you to reach early in case you plan on spending more time there. By about 5:45, most of the people had left. The live music was great. Nice country music playing while you sip your wine. They do not have a cafeteria. So I highly recommend you carry food with you. For purchase, they have pretzels and crackers and cheese. They were very strict about everyone wearing mask when indoors (wine tasting). The restrooms were okay. The staff was very nice and warm. We opted for 2 wine tastings and then purchased a glass of wine. They are $12 each. We get to sample any 4 wines from the menu. All wines cost between $ 17-40 Range 2018 Riesling: semi-sweet wine and not too dry. I enjoyed a chilled wine in 90 degrees. Southampton White: this is their highest selling wine. It is slightly fruity and makes a great refreshment! 2016 Blueberry Port: this is a dessert wine. It is made with blueberries and grapes. The wine comes with a milk chocolate and the way to have it is alternate bites/sips of chocolate and wine. The blueberry overpowered grapes and hence didn't feel like a wine at all. Would avoid this. Gatsby Red: probably my favourite, this is sangria wine. It isn't dry at all. It's slightly sweet and leaves behind a strong after taste. Does not taste like very "winey". 2015 Malbec: unlike other Malbecs, this felt way more fruity and much sour. Far from my favorite wine profiles and other Malbecs. 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon: fruity with ripe tannins and a long finish. The fruity notes made it different than the other Cabs. 2018 Reserve Chardonnay: Fairly dry and oaky. Not a big fan of white wines generally, but I went for a second round of this one. One of the better ones I had during the trip. 2018 Sauvignon Blanc: Dry again with notes of lemon. This was much milder than the reserve chardonnay. Must have if you're looking for something light on the palate. Brut: Pretty straightforward and nothing out of the ordinary. Warm day and sun had me reaching out for a bubbly. read more

On a Monday we had the entire place to ourselves! The hostess was very lovely and helpful in us finding a coffee spot after our wine experience. Delicious wines, and for those who like "sweeter" wines this place is excellent. The Gatsby Red is easy to drink and my friend got a bottle of it, good price for it too! I hope you all check out this vineyard, and support them. Bring good company and you'll have a fantastic time! read more

Perfect winery weather and I truly love the drive out here. The vines are in bloom and harvest time is near approaching. Always down for tasting the latest and greatest and this winery boasts a few accolades (not that I'm name dropping.) The Southampton White is my go to favorite but the Gatsby Red is right up there. From Sparkling to Port & everything in between, The Duck Walk has you covered. Amazing wine discounts too; get on their mailing list. -------------------- My little sanctuary. This little estate is home to the Montauk/Hamptons/Sag Harbor and city elite. Week days offer a nice happy hour spot in the sun, overlooking the vineyards with the sound of water from the koi pond sending you into mindless tranquility. The weekend has a little bit of this and that; many people from here and there getting their wine country fix. Definitely THEE best tasting menu and you certainly get more bang for your buck. read more

I've been to a couple of wineries and so far this is my favorite. This is my third time here and let's just say I'm now a wine club member. This place is more down to earth and casual. You can come here relax and have a great time. They have a wide selection in pink and white wines which I highly enjoy. You must try the Boysenberry wine. It's incredible read more

If you're feeling elevated, but for some reason want to be brought down to earth, this is your place. You would think it would be hard to complain about a winery visit - especially one on a spring Friday - but Duckwalk Vineyards had all of the appeal of a piece of dry, unbuttered toast. Here's what we got: an unwarm greeting at the door, a soulless ordering experience at the counter, and wine flights served in plastic ramakins better suited for a side of ketchup. Oh, and they were served on paper plates, with Sharpie scribbled abbreviations for the wine types. There was no warmth extended and no pride of place or product. The wines were meh, the brut (sparkling) was my favorite, but I won't return here. Our group bought bottles at every prior stop, so Duckwalk likely missed out on a couple hundred dollars of sales. read more

Don't go to long island wine vineyards expecting Napa, just enjoy them for what they are. The staff is pleasant and you can sample 4wines for $12. We took our wines and sat outside. It's not as scenic as some vineyards but over all it was a pleasant experience. read more

We ended up here for an afternoon of wine tasting $10 dollars gets you four samples I tried 2 white one was a Pinot this was good , both not bad a Rosè that was great & a Red which I wasn't too crazy about but not bad in general. The guy was very nice & explained all our choices well. After our last glass we went outside to enjoyed the scenery. Lovely waterfall to sit near by & enjoy the day, at last it was a bit cool so we decided to go inside. They set up some live entertainment outside which was nice to hear. We sat inside & enjoyed some more wine a bottled of the Pinot & later got another bottle of the Rosè both good wines. Gave the chips a try the Champagne one were very good but the winner were the Black truffle ones wow great taste. Overall nice time spent here, decent price for the wine tasting & wine bottles we enjoyed our time. read more

The wines here are super great! My crew left with two bottles of different wines each! I only drink white wine and rose. I was surprised I did not like the rose, it was a bit too dry for me. Their white wines were absolutely delicious. Every winery I go to, I try a staple one from each. My favorites were the Windmill blush and Southampton white. As for covid, the vineyard is super attentive to this! Unfortunately, the tastings are served in plastic cups so it feels much less formal than a normal tasting, but of course given the world right now it's the right move! Highly recommend coming here for some nice wine! read more
