campfire mocktail and non alcoholic prosecco
    Suzy F.

Went here for a date night with my boyfriend around 6pm. Loved the vibe in the place and would have loved it more if we went later and it was darker. The drinks were awesome! I don't drink and the mocktail list was great and the non alcoholic prosecco was so good! My boyfriend had the campfire mocktail and he absolutely loved it! The food on the other hand was definitely a let down. Definitely seemed like frozen chicken in the general tsao waffle and it was very spicy and drenched in sauce. We also got the loaded potato waffle which was ok, nothing special! Our waitress was great although she seemed to hover a bit. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back!

Only had time for a drink before grabbing dinner close by. It was our first time here and we thought it was such a cool place. Loved the bar area. The cocktail and drink menu was enormous with so many fun choices. I tried the lychee martini which was delicious!!! The place was packed and folks were waiting for our seats as soon as we left. We will definitely be back to try some more cocktails.

It's been 4 years since I last reviewed Conspiracy, so we are due for an updated 5 star review because I love them and they deserve it. I've been many times since my last review, and each time I swear I love it more than the last. It's my typical girls night hang out spot with one of my besties, and we have so much fun just sitting at our spot at the bar, and just yapping. The bartenders are super nice and knowledgeable, and even though the last few times I've gone I haven't gotten any food, I can confirm you should, because it's super flavorful and tasty. One of the best hidden gems of Middletown. And I say hidden because I literally walk right past it every darn time.

First time coming here here with some friends, pretty slow for a Sunday night. Very dark vibes, like Edgar Allen Poe We started off with Sex on the Beach and a Black Raspberry cider. Both were good. The SOTB had a unique taste that I've never had in this drink before. We also got soft pretzels, a charcuterie board with three cheeses, two meats and crackers with grapes, honey drizzled pistachios, and a cranberry jam. The cheeseburger sliders were great! Everything was good and tasty.

This is a really cute bar in the area. We love finding these kind of bars with a cute and classy vibe to them. They are definitely our preference at this stage of our lives hehe. It is a bit small so seating is limited. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed our cocktails. I would go back for sure.

Looking for a great drink spot, here it is. They have a great food, but the set-up is a little tough for apps & drinks since (other than the bar) it's small & low tables with cozy chairs. If the bar is busy, service might be a little delayed but very much worth it!

    Waffle donut sando with chicken

When I read the website for this place I was very excited to try it out. Craft cocktails, a kitchen open until one hour before last call, but most importantly a self proclaimed dedication to quality ingredients. The place itself is kept very clean, no sticky floors like other bars, but the area we were seated was very dark to the point I needed my phone to read the drink menu. Usually a dark intimate setting like that would have candles or something but they didn't have any. The bar area though is more illuminated. The menu is very creative so i knew I had to try at least two cocktails. The first one was the midori sour, which i was a little hesitant because some of the ingredients were curry leaf syrup and ginger liquor which i was very worried would overpower the drink but overall it was very pleasant and a fun presentation. I was worried the entire time that the box would leak but it never did so they clearly know what they're doing. The second drink though was the pistachio martini mudslide and while the flavor was good and the glass was cool they filled it to the top with ice cubes despite literally writing on the menu that it was blended. The ice cubes in my opinion ruined the drink experience, and thats coming from someone who loves ice. For food the waffle donut sando was delicious!! The mochi waffle donuts mixed with the mango habanero hot sauce and the perfectly cooked chicken was the perfect balance of sweet spicy and savory. The chocolate raspberry tart on the other hand was pulled straight from the freezer i think because it was really hard to cut and bite into, especially the bottom cookie crust layer. The flavor was good but then again chocolate raspberry is usually a good flavor. Overall a very unique experience that I would definetly come back for. Tldr: recommendations would be stay at the bar area for light, order drinks that you want ice in because you're gonna get it, and stick to hot food because the waffles are amazing.

Nothing like a good speakeasy - and this place is great. Nice dark atmosphere, friendly bar tenders, surprisingly good food, and of course lots of creative cocktails. Great place to pop in after dinner in the area or to go with a group of friends to hang out. I've only been there late (bonus! one of the only places that stays open after 10pm in the area) but we never had a problem finding seats - even tho they maintain a steady flow of customers. With so many hard hitting cocktails I'm sure we'll be back to check them out again soon.

Pistachio mudslide and I don't remember what was in the take out box but it was SO good!

I do wish there were more signs, as both the parking lot and the entrance felt a bit vague and easy to miss. Once we finally found our way inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere reminded me of another local tavern. Staffed by friendly people. The food was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. My only disappointment was the lack of information about the history of the establishment. There is a lot of marketing that references its connection to a jailhouse on the menu, but very little information is actually shared within the tavern itself. I found myself wanting to learn more about the story behind the place. I also think it would be fun to add a photo-op area--perhaps even outdoors--with a set of mock jail bars where guests could take pictures. It would fit the theme and add a memorable touch. The tavern itself is fairly small, so I can imagine it gets quite crowded during busy times. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out.

All of our food came out around the same time, which I appreciated. The ceviche was my personal favorite--super fresh and flavorful. The Peruvian street wok was also very well seasoned. The ambiance and scenery of the place are really nice and add to the overall vibe. There were a few downsides. Parking was a bit of a hassle, and for a Saturday, the place was surprisingly empty. Unfortunately, there were some men at the bar being rude to women, and at one point even flicked us off, which was uncomfortable. Jen handled the situation as best as she could and was very apologetic and reassuring. As for drinks, the towers tend to have a lot of ice, so by the time you get to the bottom, they're pretty watered down. The bottomless mimosas were definitely worth the price, but the service could be improved--I wish there was more consistent check-ins rather than having to flag someone down. Overall, I would go back because the food was really good, but I do think having security during brunch and improving drink service would make the experience much better.

I had the Christmasaurus in a red ceramic dinosaur and my wife had a Butter Rum Mocktail in a winking Santa mug. My drink was tasty and the mugs were fun. We bought a couple of the fun mugs to go. A person who I believe was the owner and the chef, was wearing a Christmas sweater and obviously loves the Christmas theme. Our server who doubled as the bartender was a bit more stoic about the theme. LOL. The food was generally good. It seemed like the pretzels may have picked up another aroma from the kitchen while the pretzels were cooking, because they had a slight aftertaste. Manageable, but not ideal. The pretzels looked great and had good texture. The beer cheese dip and mustard dip were both good. My pretzel stuffed with Mac and Cheese and short rib was good. We also split some holiday snack mix and Carolina BBQ wings. They were probably my favorite part of the meal. 4 Stars. The Hop Knot is definitely a place to check out. We had tickets at eight for Haunting at the Ridge about three minutes away. After looking at the menu, we decided to come here for dinner. I was very excited because of all the great menu options. The service was terrible from the start all around. We arrived at 6:15. There was two people in front of us. The hostess acknowledged us, but never took our name. A few minutes later, other people started coming in and she started taking their names and asking them if they wanted to sit outside. She never gave us that option. One of the people came in and started to debate whether or not they wanted to wait 20 minutes. She told them "You can stay or go, it doesn't matter to me." I should have known right there to leave. We were seated at 6:30 which was not a bad wait. 6:45 our orders were taken. Our waitress did not come back to the table one time after bringing our drinks. Never checked on us, never let us know what was going on with the food. She came back at 7:28 with our appetizer. We asked her how long would it take for the rest of our food. She apologized and said it would be another 20 to 25 minutes. I didn't understand how burgers take over an hour to make. We canceled the rest of the order. I was excited about the hotdog. Another letdown. It was cold when I got it and the chili on top had no flavor. I'm not even sure if it was deep-fried. Definitely not worth the $14.50 price. I will say the fries were very good. They were the only bright spot of the night. They have a lot to offer, but I would never come back here due to my experience.
