Always great service and food menu, particularly pastas are always good. The best meal I had is not always available, grilled Branzino. A good place to hang out at the bar. read more

The ambiance, service and quick turnaround time for dinner would've scored Osa 5-stars, not gonna lie. An excellent date night overall for our first night in the area, but their mocktails literally tasted lake expired La Croix. I try not to use Gen Z slang her, but the definition of mid lol read more

The food is always excellent at OSA. I've been several times and never had a bad meal or bad service. Recently we had a larger party than our reservations and they were able to accommodate us with a short wait, even though the restaurant was packed. The place looks and feels comfortable and elegant at the same time. read more

This spot was recommended to us and it was amazing! I enjoyed the meal a lot. The ambiance gives fancy barn vibes with dim lighting. 4/5 because our lasagna was a bit burnt and the sauce on the breaded chicken is super spicy. But I would be willing to come back and try something else off the menu. Service was great, super friendly, checked in, and gave recommendations. read more

WOW! Absolutely phenomenal. I can't remember the last time I ate a meal as memorable as this one. Everything was delicious, and incredibly flavorful. If I could've tried everything on the menu, I would've. A true 5-star meal. Highly, highly recommend. read more

A fantastic experience from start to end. It was super easy to get a reservation on a Friday night and when we got there our server was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us pick the perfect dishes. Starting with the corn ribs and the octopus are a strong recommendation from me. I ordered the chicken Milliese and my friend got a burger. Both were perfect. The side salad helped with the chickens heaviness. But ending the night with the caramel bread pudding is the best and really only choice. The atmosphere makes you feel like you aren't in Middletown, CT it's chic and fun and also very easy to have a conversation at. One of the top spots I have been to in Connecticut read more

Osa is a gem located in Middletown Connecticut. With its stunning interior and friendly weight staff, this is definitely a place to check out. We've been two times now and the service and food quality are consistent. The first time we went I had a fish dish and I didn't care for it. It was a little too smoky and fishy for me. But it looks lovely. What I remember from our first visit was the burger that my husband had so when we recently revisited I knew that was the thing to get. And I have no regrets. Everything was delicious Including the cocktails. While there are so many places to visit in Middletown and we have lots to explore, we definitely recommend making Osa a priority. read more

My son and I popped in completely randomly. Passing through town on the college tour circuit, late in the evening--the posted menu spoke to us on an otherwise quiet, cold night in Middletown. What a lucky draw. Right through the door, the interior is jaw-dropping. Clever, whimsical, and completely transporting...to where? Inside a boat? Inside a whale? Inside a Scandinavian forest? I often look at wine lists first. Seeing what a restaurant chooses to serve by the glass provides a clue to creativity, thoughtfulness, pricing. Osa was off to a great start on all points. Then the food started arriving and we knew we'd struck gold. Unexpected flavor balances and combinations. Fantastic use of game meat. Spot-on execution. We sat there "mmm'ing" at each other and then bargaining to trade bites. Great service too. I don't know that I'll ever get to go back, but I still think of that meal from time to time. read more

Love the atmosphere here. Feels trendy and unique. Great food choices on a rotating menu. Great service and patrons at the bar. Walked here from Krust (you might want to drive) to see if they had any good bourbons to try. While their selection isn't as big as Krust they still had some hard to find bottles for a bar. Would like to come back to try the food next time! read more

Ate here on a Tuesday night with a 6:45pm reservation. The service was very slow, drinks took 15-20 minutes and entrees another 45. Other than the long wait, the beer list was good, my friend had a cocktail which he enjoyed, and the food was amazing. The scallops were some of the best I ever had. Very upscale, not for a casual night. Would definitely recommend. read more

The ricotta appetizer is delicious. I got the burger and beer item and the burger was done perfectly. Very flavorful and satisfying.

Had dinner last night. My daughter had a delightful, tasty fresh salad with peaches and tomatoes, it looked beautiful and she scarfed it down pretty fast. Next she had a plate of grilled octopus that looked like a cover photo for food and wine magazine, it was delicious as well. I had stuffed squash blossoms, ive had them before, and just as tasty this time. Three of the freshest, cleanest tasting oysters i have ever had. My favorite was the nochi with braised beef. Omg, such a sensory satisfying plate. It looked, smelled, and tasted like one of the best meals I've ever had, and I've been around for many years. Brandy cocoa cake with grilled peaches, get it! The waitstaff are all so friendly, and the place very comfy. My daughter had her wedding reception there a few weeks back, a delightful experience. Go! read more

Finally got a chance to check out OSA with my bestie after we've been taking about going for years. We made a table reso but opted to sit at the bar instead because it's more fun. The bartenders were great. My friend loved her spicy margaritas and my rose was great. We split the salad and both had the burger. Salad was good and burger was delicious as well as fries. Wish burger came with some pickles though! Loved the vibe in this place. I kept saying I felt like I was in a sauna with all the wood slats. Lol. We can't wait to come back! read more

First, I have to say we had high expectations for dining at OSA based on the reviews here on Yelp. But I will make this review short since I don't want to waste anymore time on this experience. The menu was small (and I can appreciate that) but unfortunately the two dishes we wanted were sold out on a Saturday night at 8PM and were not told about the sold out dishes until we were asked to order. And that is unacceptable. If we hadn't already ordered wine we would have got up and left because we were not impressed with what was left on the menu to choose from. Not impressed by the food or the service as the waiter was just going through the motions and far from inviting. Our visit to Middletown from New Jersey (visiting for a memorial) was amazing until the stop at OSA. In short, skip this place unless you want an unreliable menu, mediocre service and high prices. read more

We went to Osa for our daughters birthday recently. While I am not a fan of the loud music, it was OK. Great ambience with the wood ceiling. The service was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive waitress. Every request was followed. And without a doubt, the hanger steak was the best steak I have had in a restaurant in decades. Perfectly cooked. Presented in a chimichurri sauce that was out of this world. Extremely generous portion. Absolutely everything was delicious. Definitely worth a repeat. Kudos to the chef! read more

Osa - Lobster roll! - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Middletown, Connecticut

We stopped in unexpectedly for my birthday. It was conveniently located close to the parking lots off of Main St. It was an easy quick walk on a cold evening. The restaurant decor was very unique. The bar is really beautiful looking- and the wood plank ceilings are simple yet cool design. Our waitress was attentive and patient. We wanted to enjoy a cocktail before dinner so she let us relax without bothering us too much and checked in periodically. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. I can't have too much dairy, so I asked if the lobster tagliatelle had a lot of cream- she stated it only had a few tablespoons, so I ordered it anyways. She came back moments later and let me know she spoke to the chef and could omit the cream totally, but told him to just do a dash. The dash was the perfect amount of cream. I really enjoyed the lobster tagliatelle. It had the right amount of spice- and a lot of lobster meat! It had both claws and the body meat of the lobster. The pasta was light, and perfectly cooked. Just the perfect amount of food. My husband ordered the duck, which I was lucky enough that he let me try a bite. It was tasty!! And cooked to perfection. My husband did let the waitstaff know it was my bday, and ordered me a dessert. They brought it out with a candle for me. It was the first night they added the flourless chocolate cake to the dessert menu. Hubby sure made the right choice picking this cake for dessert!! Sometimes flourless cakes are super dense- but this one was perfect consistency and had some light airiness to it. I am really excited to come back and try some more things off the menu. And the drink menu is phenomenal too... !! read more

Found myself up in Connecticut for a fencing tournament, and brought my wife along. We were looking for a fun and memorable date night spot the night before, and Osa in Middletown was only one town over from our Airbnb and was the perfect place to dine. Our incredible dinner began with their top-notch cocktails: I selected the 1792 Manhattan (I adore Manhattans, and this was a special one) and the wife sipped the Bees Uncommon, which she loved too. For app, we tried the wood roasted olives with lemon, chili oil and herbs, which was delicious and really memorable. For mains, I had the fabulous OSA Smash Burger, consisting og double Soeltl Farm red angus patties, gruyere and herb mayo on a brioche bun. OMG it was great. The wife selected the cavatelli with roasted Green Circle chicken, spicy tomato sauce and calabro burratina cheese, which pleased her greatly. We had saved room for dessert, and she immediately wolfed down the chocolate coconut pot de creme, while I savored my Summer Sundae (macerated blackberries and strawberries, crumbled crisp topping and vanilla gelato). I hope to return to Osa in 2024 for another great meal before the next tournament. read more

Stylish gastropub with a large drink menu and a small food menu I enjoyed the food and drink that I got from here (bread & butter, a chicken dish, and a custom cocktail), but I was not a fan of the overall experience Although they have a large drink menu, none of them looked like anything that I would enjoy so I asked the waiter if they could make me something that was fruity and sweet. I actually liked the resulting product a lot, but it was a shame that they didn't have it on their menu The food menu is very small, and you even have to order your bread and butter separately. This would have all been acceptable, however it took them a very long time to make our food. I would guess that we waited for almost an hour The place is also way overpriced, as when I went with my GF our price tag was ~100$ Both table and bar seating read more

Came here for a romantic date night. Dim lights lots of wood natural decor oooo we like it!! Seating is spaced enough where you don't totally feel on top of each other and could have a nice conversation. Recommend making a reservation on the weekends bc it was busy! But there is also bar seating! Started with the sourdough and cocktails - a must for both! We also got the octopus and the agnolotti both were amazing! Pasta is made fresh and you can tell, the octopus was the perfect texture. For mains I got the burger- to die for! Hubs got the chicken it was good but the burger stole the show. Wish we got the pasta dish as well but only so much we can fit. For dessert we did cookies and th seasonal apple cake. Apple cake was dry but the cookies hit the spot! Service was very attentive, made note of my food allergies and was friendly! Will deff be back as their menu is seasonal so changes! read more

Osa is a nice small intimate restaurant, great for a date night away from the kids, or meeting for the first time. Our waitress Erin, was friendly, and took our order promptly and checked on us regularly throughout our dinner. There is a limited menu, with several choices of proteins, but we were there for the burgers. The burger menu changes all the time, so make sure you check daily for what's being served. I ordered the Salmon burger, the burger was handmade on a fresh bun topped with lettuce and a dab of tarter sauce and a side salad. It also comes with a draft beer. When I picked up my burger half of it fell out of the bun and fell into my salad dressing cup spilling it all over that half of salmon , and then when I placed my bun down on the plate, half of that was covered in dressing too! After I reassembled my burger and took a bite, the flavors were a bit all over the place, but I attributed the salmon falling out as being freshly handmade and not a patty. Once I made my way through the rest of the burger, it was delicious! I have no complaints about how it tasted the rest of the way. For dessert I ordered a banana bread ice cream sandwich (banana ice cream.) The dessert was surprisingly good. Interesting concept on the ice cream sandwich. Had a great time. read more

My partner and I went into Osa without a reservation (for our anniversary!) and we had an amazing time - mostly because of the impeccable service, attentive team/staff, and always delicious meal. It was our second time eating at Osa and every time solidifies why it will easily become a go to for us both. I also recently contacted the co-owner (Rich) and asked if he could have the Krust team cater a lunch for my photo shoot crew in Middletown. I had crew members raving about the food and asking me questions about where lunch was from. Again, blown away by the food and service. Thank you again Rich and team for always making it a memorable experience for me! read more

Ambience rocks, most food was great! We ordered at 5:20 but did not get food until 6:20. There was no bread offered so we were just kind of hanging out for an hour waiting for our meals. Parking: Tough, no lot and on a main street, there is a lot 2 blocks away or you can tried side streets. COVID: Tables were 4-5 feet apart, not the greatest with no dividers but they try...I personally think should take out a few more tables but they are trying to maximize where they can to make up for lost revenue. Decor: Basic and stylish all in one, tastefully done though personally I feel they went cheap on the chairs, felt like the plastic ones from IKEA. Sound: All the tables were filled and it got quite noisy inside, I felt like I had to raise my voice during discussion at the table. They should invest in sound dampening on the ceiling area to help with the noise. Service: Excellent, our waitress was Amelia and she was on point with drinks and check-in's without being too frequent. Food: I had the Lamb and it was prepared perfectly, portions were larger than I had expected, they could have gotten away with one piece instead of two. Overall: I would go back...probably after COVID, but the value was good, dinner for two without alcohol was under a $100 and left full. read more

Probably my new favorite place. Came here for dinner with my fiancé and his mom. We had an amazing experience and honestly could not find anything wrong with Osa. They have flights of champagne and whiskey - ideal. Their small plates are delicious and unique. They make their own bread and butter! We got 2 rounds, it was so good. The dessert cookies are cooked with pork fat. Yum. Our server, Caitlin, was so personable and gave amazing recommendations. She could predict what we would like next. Had heard great things about this relative new comer: seasonal menu, local products, yada, yada. On arrival I was prepared to sour on it fast. Crappy Middletown parking, Hipster host with obligatory ski cap, noisy and small with a decor vaguely reminiscent of a Scandinavian dry sauna. But it won me over fast with its quality, attention to detail, and professionalism. Excellent cocktails fairly priced; nice warm rustic loaf with whipped ricotta. Winter salad with beets and spicy pistachios were gobbled up fast as was the silky sunchoke soup. All entrees were excellent including pork and mushroom ragout with broccolini and whipped potatoes; tagliatelle with seafood, risotto with braised short rib (a bit dry and fatty but still tasty) and the best dish I tasted: pan roasted monk fish with fennel. Very good gang tackle service and well priced but small wine list I'm sold...this crabby old man will be back read more

Osa - Amazing burger! - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Middletown, Connecticut

This place did not disappoint. Lured in by the simple, modern aesthetic, tempted by the descriptions of fresh locally sourced veggies, sourdough bread made in house, and intriguing flavor combinations, my friend and I were both salivating with high expectations. For 5 of the 7 dishes we ordered, Osa knocked it out of the park. The other 2 were only slightly sub-par. We started slowly with a little "snack" bowl of delightfully tangy pickled mushrooms and an order of their in-house sourdough, served warm, and crusty with a pat of cultured Vermont butter. We sampled their fresh oysters next. Thumbs up . Very fresh. Next, I had the strip steak over mashed potatoes and grilled leeks with bordelaise sauce. Deliciously flavorful and balanced with good proportions. My friend ordered two more small plates in lieu of an entrée. The clams in the New England clam chowder were tender and tasty, but the chowder itself was a little bland and watery. It was a very small serving, and came with the oyster crackers already in the soup--an interesting serving choice. The summer beans, on the other hand, were out of this world. The crispy shallot topping made the generous serving of just-tender-but-still-crunchy beans sing. I pronounced them the best beans I had ever tasted! Finally, we indulged in dessert and ordered the wild blueberry chomeur - a sticky maple bread pudding. I liked this one more than my friend did. She found it dry, and lamented the lack of the cream sauce that was described in the menu. She said it was more like a crumbly cake than a moist pudding . Our server was friendly, quick, informative, and attentive. This place is a great find. read more

$50 for a strip steak and 6 asparagus stalks.Period. Everything is extra; bread, salad, any side except fries with a $23 burger. And, if you have dietary issues, take all the stuff you cant eat OFF the plate but charge $35 for a 4 ounce piece of halibut anyway. The food we did eat was good but barely there. Server was very good / no evening specials, disappointing because there's were only a few large plate selections, encouraging our party of seven to order lots of small plates for variety. plus drinks plus dessert. A week's salary for some people. Place is small so also noisy. Never again. read more
