Having heard good things about this restaurant we decided to try it for my birthday. We went early, so there were only a couple of other diners at the time so service was good. The interior decor of the restaurant is a bit bland- multiple tables arranged in a large room. The room could definitely use some color to brighten the mood. Ceiling tiles were stained and detracted from the atmosphere. But I did like the choice of music- Sinatra, Patsy Cline, etc.! Great choices! The food was, overall, fairly good. The wedge salad was different than usual, served with blue cheese and dressing but also with a balsamic addition. Unusual but good. The rigatoni bolognese was very tasty. The Canadian salmon was good- however the Parmesan risotto could have used more flavor (salt?). The Delmonico steak was served on a sizzling platter and was cooked properly (I ordered it rare and it was rare). However, the meat was a bit tough/chewy which detracted from the meal. Not the quality of meat I would expect from a higher end steakhouse. Overall the meal was okay, but not up to par with other steak houses I've been to. read more

Tomahawk for Two Tuesday night was a successful encounter with real meat. I finally found someone to share this experience with me. The bread and [frozen] butter made it a bit hard to manage but there was so little good bread it didn't matter. The two Caesar salads were large and fresh and contained good cheese shavings. Mine was dressed properly but companion's was a bit wet. The mashed potato side was excellent but the broccoli was not crisp and not hot enough. The tomahawk cut of meat was very good and presented off the bone [which was taken home as an upcoming art project]. It was cooked medium rare and crusted beautifully. Two affogatos made to my simple preference [not the over-done creation on the menu]. All in all a very good meal and a true bargain for what was offered. The service was excellent even as he dining room began to fill up. I think every table had ordered the Tomahawk for Two. As I mentioned in an earlier review, the ambiance reminds me of a private club somewhere in central Europe. Thanks to the chef and waitstaff for a delightful evening. read more

I was unaware that T Bone Prime had opened on the main drag in Downtown Middletown until we recently drove by. At night, they're more or less a steakhouse, but they have some less expensive entrees like chicken parm, Rigatoni Bolognese, and bacon wrapped pork medallions. They have a lunch menu with a surprising variety of things. Nachos. Panini. Burgers. Flatbreads. A small Filet if you really want steak. The restaurant is nice in an understated way. I ate at the bar late Sunday morning before anybody else had arrived. The bartender was very friendly and was a great server. I ordered the 8 ounce T Bone Prime Burger with grilled bacon, sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomato and onions, and it came with an order of fries. I had to have them cut the burger in half because I injured my dominant shoulder. I ordered it medium so it wouldn't be drippy for the same reason. So I'm not really in a position to say how juicy the burger would normally be. The meat was good quality though, it could have used a touch more seasoning. Not to bury the lead, but the bacon on the burger was the thickest bacon I've ever had on a burger. It's the super thick kind that some steakhouses grill and serve as an app. I loved it! The fries were a bit below average on this day. They were a bit underdone for my liking. It was early in the day. Perhaps they were still trying to figure out the oil temperature. 4 Stars. It sounds like they have a good Tomahawk Tuesday for two deal that could be worth checking out. read more

We had a fantastic steak dinner here! I had the filet and my husband had the bone-in rib eye- both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The portions were very generous... so much so that we had another meal the next day! We sat in the bar area which had a nice vibe - relaxed but still upscale. Our server was attentive and genuinely sweet, and she made excellent martinis, too! Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded at all which made for a very enjoyable evening. Once word gets out, I'm sure that will change. Bonus: There's plenty of free parking in the back. We'll definitely be back! read more

Blustery snowy day--we were the only customers there on a Sunday afternoon. Lianna was our server--delightful. Drinks-Martini with "tiny" blue cheese olives. Old Fashioned with low quality red maraschino (vs Luxardo). Wine by the glass, Duckhorn $11...very good. Ceasar salad was good--no anchovies available! Sharable. We had the 40 0z porterhouse--it was good. Served on a piping hot platter. Sides of mashed, asparagus and sauteed mushrooms. All good. Dessert--opted for Creme Brule. Arrived after 3PM on Sunday, 7/20/25. There was one other couple in the house. A single Waitress in attendance...she was very good. We had received a gift card some time ago and thought we'd check this place out. After salads, my wife had ordered the Prime 14oz NY Strip & I ordered the Dry Aged 16oz Bone-In New York. Service was great since there was only 2 tables taken. This was the worst dry aged ny strip I ever had ( and it was not a dry aged since I've had countless dry aged steaks). Number one, I couldn't cut thru it because It was so tough. Number two, ordered medium and got well done. Number three, I never use salt but had to use the salt numerous times just to get some flavor. As others have mentioned, the bread was definitely the highlight. We ordered the 40 oz Tomahawk (Tomahawk Tuesday special) and we're not disappointed. The steak was a perfect mid rare and well seasoned and expertly presented by our server who was courteous, professional and attentive without hovering. the ambiance was relaxed and warm. We were surprised that the special included choice of salad (I had the Caesar and my wife had the garden, both fresh and delicious) 2 sides and choice of dessert. The price was reasonable and, because of the great service, well worth the price. I'd definitely go there again! read more

the worst so called prime steak I ever had. Our table ordered 3 bone in prime steaks . All were cooked to wrong temperature plus they served us t-bone steaks instead. All steaks were tough, no dry age flavor ,no seasoning and came out with an over charred outside. The truffle fries had no truffle flavoring . We got there at 5 o'clock and left at 6:30- ish .We were the only customers in the whole place. Their steaks are USDA choice at best. A total rip-off. read more

Had an amazing dinner here with friends on 3/23/2025. Weary at first as we were one of 2 tables at 5:30pm on a Sunday, but our server Lianna, took great care of us. Drinks were tasty and strong, apps came out timely and were amazing. The beef eggrolls were delicious. Tried many of the salads and they did not disappoint. There was a slight wait for the mains to arrive and one in our party had a late baked potato, but it was WELL WORTH the wait. Again, Lianna checked- in and made sure we were okay. Did not have room for dessert, but they have multiple choices for everyone. The interior is clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint would be the music seemed a little loud, especially when the dining room was quiet. The host made sure to keep adjusting the lights to fit the ambiance and light outside. Will be happy to come back soon, especially to try it be of the desserts! read more

Took Hubby to T Bone Prime Steakhouse for Father's Day!! This is our first time to this great new spot downtown Middletown! I was great having parking right behind the restaurant!! We had a reservation for 5pm and were seated promptly. Our waiter, Don, was awesome and the restaurant was amazing!! They have a full bar and we ordered wine and bourbon before our appetizers. Ordered calamari and it was delicious although could have had more peppers. For entrees we ordered veal medallions with a side of risotto, the risotto could have had more flavor but when added with some salt and pepper a side of mushrooms, it tasted better! Hubby had the dry aged rib eye. He ordered it medium rare. The outside was more medium, but it was medium rare closer to the bone. I ordered my bone-in NY Strip Medium and it was closer to medium well outside, but medium inside. However very flavorful. We will definitely be back! read more

Our server, Leanna was very nice. Saturday night and many empty tables. The $45 cut of prime rib was like a slice you would get at a brunch buffet and really had no taste. Three out of 4 of us ordered the prime rib and there was no way it was a 16 oz cut. Half of it was fat. Honestly, the meat at the grocery store is much tastier. I had the shrimp bisque that was totally bland. We were really looking forward to a lovely dinner and the only thing that was really good were the mashed potatoes. Where shall I start...Upon arriving, our family were the only people in the restaurant at 4pm so I stress it was NOT BUSY. It took the waitress about 15 minutes to come to the table and although she was nice, she needed to be prompted on every little thing. We had to prompt her to refill our water glasses, prompt her to take our orders, prompt her for our check and prompt her for a cake knife. It was exhausting. Also, it literally took about 30-40 minutes for each course. From the water on the table, to the appetizers, 30 minutes. From that to the steaks, 40 minutes, we were there for over 2 hours for a 2 course meal! Next, my sister ordered a strip steak MEDIUM and told the waitress to please make sure it was not overdone. It comes out Medium Well. My sister had to send it back and by the time a new one was served, she had already picked at my meal so the steak had to be wrapped to go. Onto my meal which was the PRIME RIB. It had the makings of a decent piece HOWEVER, it was soaked in Au Jus Gravy so it was full of salt. Whenever I have ordered prime rib in other restaurants, the Au Jus comes on the side in a separate dish. This was disgusting. Had I known it was poured on, I would have asked for it on the side. My sister also had ordered Truffle Fries. She said they did not taste like any she had before. She said they were just regular fries. My husband liked his piece of prime rib but then again, he loves salt. The other family member had chicken parm and he said that was okay. In addition, they seated us up against their wine racks which had wine bottles and every time my husband moved, the wine bottles shook. Who puts a table that close to a wine rack??? I could go on about this place, but I am sure anyone reading this will get the point. We will not be back. read more

I'm not sure who's back there cooking but my steak was way undercooked and full of fat. The only thing that was good was the service. I have no complaints about that but this restaurant needs to get their act together. The food here was amazing! Our party ordered apps, pasta dishes and steak! What got me to actually write this review is the best tasting piece of medium well filet I've ever tasted! Yes I know med rare is the rule, but I only Like my steak med well; therefore you get used to accepting over cooked, sometimes hard, chewy meet... BUT not here! Wish we could've loved it. We are locals and been wanting to try this new restaurant so we got a reservation for Valentine's Day. They obviously over booked and didn't plan ahead. There was only one bar tender on. We were sat at a high top in the bar area right by the doors that continuously were being opened. There's two entrances and people had to keep squeezing by our table and the other tables because they kept going in the wrong door. Definitely need better signage. Took three hours from start to finish. Steak came out with none of our sides. Never was asked for another glass of wine! Food was thankfully good. Server was stressed so we didn't try to put more pressure on him and sucked it up. I asked for salt and pepper before my appetizer came out. Never got it until the entree after he said he finally found one. Bizarre to me. Supposed to be a higher end dinner and the atmosphere was subpar for a brand new restaurant. Maybe we will try again when it's less busy but won't be coming back in a rush. read more

This was my first time and I will be back again and again. Great food and great service is very important to me/us and this exceeded expectations. We had shrimp cocktail, bacon wrapped scallops and risotto, 1/2 lobster tails. Wine and cocktails also great. We sat at the bar and had great conversation with manager, bartender, and other restaurant staff that were all very nice, friendly, and helpful. Best restaurant in Middletown, hands down. read more

Full disclaimer. We went on Valentine's Day which is like going to an Irish pub on St. Paddy's. It was mobbed and the quality/service wasn't good. We made a reservation for 5 pm three weeks ago. We were seated at 5:15. Waitress took our order at that time to include our meals (I had a feeling it would be a while). Half hour later we asked our waitress about our drinks. She brought them out. My wife had the pomegranate mint martini which was good. I had the Enzo's bourbon which tasted watered down. My son ordered a coke with no ice. Came back with ice. At 6:25 our meals came (after I had asked the waitress about our orders). The filets my wife and son ordered were good. My NY strip was tough. We didn't stay to order deserts and left after 7. The bill with tip was over $250. It may be because it was Valentine's Day but the prices should justify better service and a quality product. There are other steakhouses in CT who charge the same but are much better. read more

I wish I could give this place NEGATIVE stars. I have NEVER in my life been more appalled by a dining experience. We made a reservation to eat at 7:45. We showed up and sat down and ordered everything, almost right away. We ordered two appetizers: burrata and carpaccio. The only request I had was no red onions on the carpaccio. The appetizers came out fifteen minutes apart. By the time the carpaccio arrived; the burrata was done and thank God for that because of course, it had red onion. I notified the waitress and she took it away and apologized. I told her not to worry because I assumed dinner would be out shortly. WRONG. My husband ordered a filet mignon and I ordered a veal dish. FORTY FIVE MINUTES after the carpaccio was taken away, the waitress came over to tell us that her boss just notified her that the veal was not available. Are you kidding me!? That's something you notify someone of shortly after ordering it - not 45 minutes later. The food should have been cooked and OUT by that time. We were stunned and disgusted. It was now 9PM and all restaurants around us are closing. We told the waitress we were leaving and she went to go PRINT THE CHECK FOR US. I approached the bar and told her we were LEAVING. I am beyond words. I never write negative reviews (check my history) but this experience was really sour. The worst part? My husband and I lost out on a date night because of this and had to return home to a babysitter we organized and paid for well in advance in anticipating of trying this new spot. Definitley a 5 star. Menu, ambience, service , everything spot on. We had an outstanding meal. Lots of menu choices. Steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, veal medallions were so tender, short rib dish was melt in your mouth (mashed potatoes were soooo good, and desserts were ah-zmazing - creme brulee, tiramisu, strawberry cake, and molten lava cake). Wish they could do half stars here. Anyway, first time here, very nice interior. We made reservations online , it was at 4 pm and only had options of 430 and the 730 pm. Only two or three tables seated, doubt it was full at previous hours. Server started us with water and never came back to ask if we wanted anything else. This was not a mistake as we looked around about mid meal and now with about 7 tables, all had nothing but water. Business is hurting itself by not upselling other drinks. I had the mussels for an app, wife had a salad. Mussels were ok, but pretty rubbery and chewy. We ordered the 40oz tomahawk steak for two with mashed and mushrooms for sides. Steak comes on a sizzling plate , cut up but steak was ice cold in the center, had to be brought back and fired for an additional couple min, which caused sides to grow cold. Overall for the price it missed the mark, steak was good but not for the price good. If I'm honest, they need to tighten up or I don't see them lasting. Sorry but I'm brutally honest. read more
